Weekend Open Thread

Is Trump the only candidate for the Presidency?  Seems to be as Clinton rarely gets a mention on the BBC in comparison to Trump….Trump who is, according to Jim Naughtie, a joke, an idiot, and ego maniac…or possibly any number of other things which the BBC freely slanders him with such as he’s a crackpot, simplistic, phoney, a tragedy, a bar room blusterer…importantly though, serious, sensible and grown up people must talk to him and guide him onto the right path as he ‘stokes fear and anger’ by suggesting terrible solutions such as bringing law and order to the streets, preventing terrorism and ensuring American interests are put first in world trade and by not indulging in ‘foreign adventures’ that result in much money spent, much blood spilt and those ‘helped’ somewhat less than grateful….would have thought the BBC would be onboard, sounds like their kind of man in many respects.

Ali David Sonboly, aged 18 yrs old, has been variously described by the BBC as:-

    – A Boy
    – A Teenager
    – A Child

Why then do you want to give the vote to 16 yr olds?

    http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/8522/france-jihadist-attack
Successive French governments have built a trap; the French people, who are in it, are thinking only of how to escape. The situation is more serious than many imagine. Whole areas of France are under the control of gangs and radical imams.

Prime Minister Manuel Valls repeated what he already said 18 months ago: “France is at war.” He named an enemy, “radical Islamism,” but he was quick to add that “radical Islamism” has “nothing to do with Islam.” He then repeated that the French will have to get used to living with “violence and attacks.”

The French are increasingly tired of attempts to exonerate Islam. They know perfectly well that all Muslims are not guilty. But they also know that all those who committed attacks in France in recent years were Muslims. The French have no desire to get used to “violence and attacks.” They do not want to be on the losing side and they feel that we are losing.

Those who tried to speak of jihad were promptly reduced to silence. Not even a year later, in November, the Bataclan Theater bloodbath did not lead to protests, but was a deeper shock. The mainstream media and the government could no longer hide that it was an act of jihad.

Great line from Lord-ish Ashdown, currently occupying centre stage on the Marr show. Illustrating the breadth of the political intelligentsia within his exciting new party/movement – which among many throw-away tenets includes the option of Rejoining – the patrician peer raised our hopes for the future by listing Simon Schama and Dan Snow….
    What a comprehensively total wanker.

Like Number 6 I would add Abbott, Thornberry and Rudd. (But not Michael Gove – he steered us through into Brexit). I would also include Chris’s Martin McGuinness. I wouldn’t be too hard on Clegg either. I would add some of my own few to your very good (bad or even wicked) list. Gerry Adams, Tristram Hunt, Ken Clarke, Neil, Glynnis and Steven Kinnocks. Tony Blair, Gordon Brown. And for some from the past who we don’t see too often but still waste oxygen – David Steel, John Major, Michael Heseltine. I’ve just remembered the Greens – the Mad Pixie is very annoying, and the half-wit Aussie woman is probably not worth including.

I quite like Nigel…. I accept that on some occasions he has made statements regarding policies which i don`t agree with, but unlike other politicians he doesn`t change his views the next day like a hypocritical mainstream politician… I hope that sooner or later he returns to the frontline as only someone such as he would have the courage to call out Theresa May when she attempts to steer us towards some kind of a soft Brexit future and subvert the wish of the majority of those who voted to leave the corruption and elitist dictatorship of Brussels… I do not for one second believe that the new PM will make any stand when it comes to bringing back our proper soveriegn rights… I especially do not think she will demand the return of our territorial waters and fishing rights, I`ve a feeling that they will attempt to sweep it under the carpet… I live in Grimsby, once the home port of the largest fishing fleet the world has ever known and our docks are devoid of any fishing boats now, save the odd few registered in foriegn ports which occasionally moor here due to adverse weather conditions.. we have a fish market which auctions fish caught in our waters by foriegn vessels registered elsewhere in europe which is trucked in overland only…. We also have a huge industrial estate of which about 60% is made up of vacant factories whilst the remaining 40% still operating now employ foriegn nationals on zero hour contractors… I despise the EU as I have seen within my lifetime our region go from being awash with money and employment in fishing and also in the many onshore fish processing factories which relied on our fleet to survive, to our region being just about the worst economic blackspots in the entire UK… Just up the road 11 miles away is the port of Immingham it has an oil tanker terminal and it too will slowly die a death now as the renewables scam industry is being promoted here now…. Windfarms everywhere offshore and also on the land up the coast which is as it happens owned by David Camorons father in law.. There is no way that Theresa May will change policy direction relating to this and in my eyes is one of the main reasons for Camorons (yes the mispelling of his name is intentional) early resignation, it all seemed a bit too cosy for my liking in a years time I expect Osbourne and Camoron to have wealth on the same level as the Blairs…. the appointment of Boris johnson as Foriegn Secretary has been made in the hope that he will not have the opportunity to make a bid for the leadership and also in the hope that he will upset foriegn leaders with so called `gaffes` … As for Micheal Gove I honestly believe that he should now jump ship and join UKIP as it is obvious now that he will never be given any kind of office within the government…. I really and sincerely hope that Farage returns to the frontline and believe without someone like him Brexit will end up as a watered down soft political football which will get kicked downed the road and deliver nothing but an own goal to our interests..

      Now to Mr Wilders.
We need to thank God for these European patriots.
Geert to me would be number One in terms of Europe.
Yes, Marine, Nigel the AfD, Pegida, Scandinavian heroes and heroines in cartoons and articles-as well as Victor Orban and Klaus etc in the New Europe will soon be seen to be pan-European Titans.
We here in Britain will remain eternally grateful…Jacqui Smith and Geert Wilders in 2007-9 was one of MY watershed moments in terms of how this country was going.
Wonder if we`d have had Geert had Pim Fortuyn had not been murdered?
But-the day will surely come when Nigel and Geert are on our coins/notes.
Geert is an extraordinary man…whenever we swill over the Euroscum and slime who parade and preen in front of the BBC cameras-remember that Geert Wilders blazed a trail for Nigel and Marine etc…
      Viele danke!

He sums up what most of us on this site and most of the general public think. The comments back up that his views are widely supported by the readership of the ST, hardly foaming at the mouth racist bigots. Suck on that BBC et al.

The BBC are bloody thick aren`t they?
As they coo over Hillarys hitherto-unknown running mate , whilst ignoring who or why Pence was chosen by Trump…they only show their residual bias.
Witness BH “paper review”-yes,you can say you`ve balanced the politics with Labour, Tory and liberal…but these are old categories now from 1997.
There`s only ONE divided now…are you IN or OUT of the EU?
And a further question to be clever-do you believe in “Islamophobia”?…if you do then the rest falls into place for the rest of us.
The only two answers wanted are OUT and NO respectively.
Sorry Beeb…as you accuse Trumps campaign as being “nasty and personal”-I can only suppose your vicious bile and hatred towards Trump, Farage and Leasdsom etc are all “done in the best possible taste, less populist, more nuanced”.
Makes you even MORE evil BBC-as if playing a flute for the Kindertransport might keep you from Nuremburg a few years hence.
    But it won`t
The BH Independent paper review were the same cossetted elite who`ll only hope we go away and leave the stage to the Beautiful People like themselves…”ain`t gonna happen” as the “plebs” might say.
I`m not telling them that the podium is quietly getting dismantled as they declaim…I`ll tell them that the hammers and nails we`re using are Proms steel drums tributes…and that the seeming gallows they might notice if they dared to look other at George and Amal Clloney-well that`s a new Tie Rack, and the noose measures transgendered adams apples with a gentle stretch.
Wasn`t Saddams white scarf “so darling” Paddy?-what a positive statement to us all.

Brexit heightens global economic risks, says G20
Well maybe it does. France and Germany have to accept that they can be part of the problem or part of the solution. France does a lot of trade with the UK. They have to ask themselves are they willing to jeopardize their economy over a peurile liberal stance on movement of people. Admitting failure is something the French must be used to given a brief look at their history.

Some generalizations have content, yours did not. I can generalize about lefties because the concept of ‘left’ is polythetic, not strictly homogeneous but lefties in general will accept at least 8 out of say 10 beliefs which can be regarded as left. That is why one can predict your response to a situation.
You really are concerned about sex. I wonder why? You are probably too young to have been influenced by Freud.

GWF: July 10 – The things the get up to in Camden Public Toilets
GWF: June 24 – Poor Manon… I suppose he could take some consolation with Zero aka Jerrod in Camden public toilets.
GWF: June 18 – Zero, you are back and have yet to answer my question: do you prefer sex in public toilets or at home?
GWF: June 22 – Zero, sorry I missed you at Camden public toilets as the experience could have been videoed for my colleague

There are more, but I don’t think I can stomach wading through any more of the cesspit of your deluded ramblings.

Next time you pretend to be shocked – shocked! – that someone thinks you’re a dirty old man with an obsession with other people’s sex lives, just remember that people can read the nonsense you type, you deluded, ignorant, sex-obsessed halfwit.

                      > designed to respond to your failure to meet any of the points you were criticising and instead descending into personal abuse

So you decided to descend even further to show how it should be done? Because it’s okay for you to post lewd messages while accusing others of doing so? What is it that makes you think you can behave as you see fit while accusing others of doing exactly the same thing? Have you discussed your sociopathic tendencies with the poor therapist who has to unravel your psychoses on a weekly basis?

Now, do us all a favour, pull that hand out of your underwear and behaving like a grown up for once in your miserable life.

Oh, and “saved up”? Hardly – I used a Google search, as I said in the post. It appears that basic reading skills are something else you lack.

But there are also some second rate but over promoted scientists, ideological bedfellows from outside the BBC, called advisers, used to justify violation of BBC rules on impartiality to politicians who complain to the BBC. I was watching BBC Parliament yesterday. There was a group of mostly academics discussing the referendum result. Interesting .
They did not approve of us uneducated unwashed making our views plain for once and this coloured their supposedly unbiased analysis.
One of them actually understood that in the Anglo Saxon tradition that we are heirs to the notion of sovereignity residing in the people is deep rooted , easy to understand and to his mind rather regrettable a feature of particularly English life.
The rest were of the usual hive mentality. Some of them seemed dimly aware that things are changing and that the liberal consensus is no a longer valid way of ordering society. Despite this they lacked any real knowledge that the consensus which they were part of was going to break apart .
This type of behaviour is normal in any decaying power structure .The USSR being the most recent example.
What does this have to do with the BBC? The BBC is almost completely in thrall to the outdated and soon to collapse liberal/neoliberal/ statist/leftist elite .It has recruited from this narrow demographic and now is composed almost entirely of such people.
Sadly it has no future with the current people in position. In a sensible world we would deprive this useless elite of any power and influence but this never happens in our world. We must hope that events force them to either relinquish power of that they reform.

Dave well said – however I do find the slow suicide of a once great and respected organisation quite depressing. I was bought up with the BBC generally always taking the moral establishment line. Conservative (in a small c) fashion. The BBC was considered as English as Roast Beef, however those days are long gone.

I can only assume that the BBC still tows the establishment line and its increasing shrill – default liberal/left wing bias and downright lying can only be seen as a reflection of the establishment/elite that are currently in control of this country.

Why was the BBC let off the hook in the recent charter review ? Because it reflects the the views of this out of touch elite who are still obsessed with multiculturalism and globalization.

We have the strange situation in this country where the establishment is in effect at war with its own population. They are patronised , lied to and generally treated with the utmost contempt. Climaxing with the referendum.

This is becoming more and more obvious to the population at large and hopefully as the BBC and MSM becomes more brass necked in its lies, it is sowing the seeds for its own destruction. The amazing irony being its strongest supporters appear to be the so called “revolutionary” organisations such as Class War etc.

I suppose the “danger” time comes when the establishment are finally backed into a corner. As cornered animals always fight hardest. Or in the the BEEBS case lie hardest. I think Brexit may well be the vehicle to achieve this. As people did not vote for the single market and did not vote for uncontrolled immigration to continue. We will see .

The only thing that I am sure of with regard to our “treasured state broadcaster is that truth is always the first casualty in war.

I think we reached that poit with the Brexit vote and that yesterday’s announcement by our new Home Secretary (that ridiculous empty vessel, Amber Rudd) with her obscene Blairite ‘hate crime’ proposals is the first post-referendum sign of things to come.

If the BBC really believed in the ‘human rights’ rubbish it endlessly spouts, it would be on Rudd’s neck like a wolf, just as it should have been on that of her predecessor, who was another enemy of free speech. She seems to be the type of person who reacts badly to criticism and is an authoritarian by nature. I have no doubt at all that control is central to her world view. Dangerous times for us all and it is increasingly looking as if May has put her there to enforce those policies which will be central to the May project- that is ensuring that we remain in the EU and subservient docile serfs.
No doubt the anti hate legislation will be interpreted to suppress anti EU writing and speaking. Good people are going to be persecuted I fear.
In some ways Corbyn is ,although a bizarre man in some ways, a better bet where freedom is at stake ( a contentious view I know)
Rudd is also part of the banking financial establishment and her brother is a noted EU supporter.
I have said before that the task before us all is to try to work out when the fix goes in. We are going to be shafted by the May junta ( I think that is what the present lot deserve to be called).
Sad times I fear and once again the elite is showing it’s contempt and it’s utter cynicism.
Without the protection of the 1st Amendment we, unlike our American cousins , are exposed to any and every authoritarian effort to silence us.

Maybe as a temporary fix for this spate of terror and non terror attacks we could try something a little radical, it’s a little far out but give it a chance. We could create safe spaces and fill them with people who have a common bond, shared values and culture, maybe even a long standing generational connection to the land they inhabit. Obviously people would want to move to the more successful safe spaces, but with carefully controlled borders and realistic quotas this should be no problem. Of course a reluctance to fit in would result in swift removal, we could call these spaces countries…
I know I’m being facetious but for ***** sake, the answer is just so bloody obvious to all but the people in a position to do something about it, it’s long past time for them to swallow their pride and admit they have made a huge mistake and start putting it right.

Tory MPs react with fury as EU leaders consider UK ’emergency brake’ on free movement

Tory MPs have reacted with fury after it was reported that EU leaders are considering allowing Britain curbs on freedom of movement whilst retaining access to the single market.

MPs have accused leaders across the continent of “missing the point” and failing to accept the public’s decision to sever ties with the 28-member bloc last month.

European diplomats are understood to be looking at granting the “emergency brake” on EU migration for up to seven years.

If an agreement was reached, it would require Britain to pay a sizable contribution to the EU budget.

I think Mike – the truth is that the elite think they can still get away with treating the population as a whole with the same sneering contempt they always have. “They came at us in the same old way and we shot them down in the same old way”

We are told in one breath that “if we still want to remain in the single market” and we should have an “emergency brake for seven years on immigration” as if these are things we always wanted. All very BBC/Camoronesque/”big dealish!

Silly me I thought that most people who voted to leave the EU realised that the single market was part of it. And in voting to leave the EU we also leave the single market.
As for the “emergency brake ” on immigration, most of us dont want a brake on immigration, just the ability to control who comes into our country. And what happens after the seven years – business as usual I suppose.

Nice touch that Boris seems all for this EU sleight of hand/EU fudge. I suppose it could just be some sort of negotiation ploy. Where we all settle for something a bit better but not much.

However I never trusted Boris from day one (considering him no more a brexiteer than Theresa the Appeaser) and I am afraid this that this pro EU pile of shit from Whitehall as strengthened my view.

A government policy has failed – it cannot be the fault of the party or the thinking behind the policy so therefore a scapegoat has to be found, blamed and annihilated. In the past this was ‘counter revolutionaries’ or some such, to this day nothing has changed.

The Communist invention of multiculturalism has failed – undeniably so and someone has to take the blame for it. Instead of ‘counter revolutionaries’ today we have those guilty of transgression of the ‘isms’ and ‘phobias’ the left has invented as scapegoats to blame for the current failure of their ‘perfect’ communist inspired policy.

I can think of no where in the world where Racial integration, nor Multiculturalism has actually worked, in fact it seems that in every country where it has been tried, it has been a total unmitigated disaster.
Of course if anyone can name a country where this delusion has actually succeeded then I would be only too glad to know and stand corrected ?

Poor Left only get Hillary, Mairead and the Eagle choirboys…they really need to look again. listen carefully then come over.
Knuckle scraping need not be a hindrance…the Left are simply uneducated, thick and prone to perversions and addictions.

Earlier today I suggested the idea of a pocket folding burkha to be put on by men and women in the event of Jihadist attack to avoid being shot at.
I’ve thought of a design modification: the inside would be coloured white and styled as a Ku Kux Klan robe, and easily reversible if the attacker turned out to be one of those right wing extremists the BBC warns us about.

I love this type of video…it can’t be questioned because you can see for yourself in black and white, and as we all know the BBC would deny it ever happened before they’d put it on our screens…This is truly the power of the Internet..

Late night Sunday update: A BBC APOLOGY (of sorts).
I was surprised to hear this Sunday afternoon that the BBC (radio 4) has responded to the question of BBC bias and impartiality on all reporting charges – amongst the many vocal public claims of ‘corporate Impartiality’ on all the BBC news channels and web sites and radio phone-ins. In response to that we have this unique offering, in this radio 4 ‘FEEDBACK’ radio program (headed by Roger Bolton), he was interviewing the BBC Director of Editorial Policy and Standards… Name already forgotten!

There was no mention of Cameron’s fear ‘remain’ campaign having any input on the ACTUAL BBC coverage (or the audience ‘packing’ at ‘Question Time’). No apology for that!

And you’ve guessed it! It not an apology but an appeal to the (lost) ‘Remain’ camp that they did not challenge the ‘leave campaign’ effectively as they should have done due to (cough) that famous BBC impartiality (hah!!!) As usual those (radio listeners and TV viewers) that did manage to complain (and phone-in live on air) to the BBC which does now admit defeat. So it hasn’t happened yet (obviously) and that was regrettable that the BBC are forced to apologies – late on a Sunday evening that it won’t happen again (until next time). It is clear from this radio interview that what the BBC thinks was ‘representative’ was plainly clearly at odds with what the public wanted and the end result. In many ways this reflected badly on the BBC. I shall credit them for making this Radio 4 FEEDBACK apology -although many of us have heard this kind of thing before on a Sunday afternoon only for the familiar (BBC bias) to restart (again)) on Monday morning.

Still worth a listen to for as this is as close as we will ever get to an BBC apology of covering events that it does not approve of.

The incident comes amid tension following other bloody events in Germany over the past week.

A shooting rampage in Munich on Friday left nine dead while an axe attack on a train a week ago in Wuerzburg, Bavaria, injured several people.

World Service sagely reminded us this morning that we must be very careful at this time not to speculate on his reasons for the failed “asylum seeker” blowing himself up.

Apparently he was turned away from a music festival – so I suppose he had no choice but to blow himself and maybe a few othersup. Perfectly understandable. Maybe Saint Bob was playing and who would want to miss that!

If only the music festival had been a bit more understanding and maybe given him a few free lightsticks – none of this would have happened.

I suggest to Amber in her new anti “hate crime” legislation – maybe she should include a section on the banning of the “not allowing access to festivals any festival punter carrying a ticking rucks sack on his back”. Maybe all asylum seekers could also be given free lightsticks on entry to the West as a way of apology for earlier errors and to show them that we love them really.

This should spread more peace and love and generally encourage the indigenous population to merge their bodies and personalities with any asylum seekers carrying said rucksacks.
