BBC reporting that one of the UKs five border control vessels is in the Mediterranean (ones in dock for repair) leaving just three to protect our coast from “people smugglers”.
And in Canada a 15% property tax is being proposed for Vancouver….for foreign purchasers…..”to keep property affordable”.
No surprise the BBC reported on a committee report headed up by Keith Vaz is it?
No surprise either that the committee found the following:
described conditions in Calais migrant camps as “absolutely atrocious”
(they are there illegally and have made those conditions themselves, no one is forcing them to stay there, and seeing as it’s in France why is the UK so bothered about something over which it has no control?)
accused the EU and its member states of failing to anticipate the scale of migrant flows
(Which the UK hasn’t exactly helped by sending a gunboat to collect migrants and provide a taxi service into Europe thereby encouraging the flow!)
warned of a “two tier system” among local authorities in relation to the Syrian refugee resettlement programme, with figures showing some areas received scores of people while others took in none
(because what the UK really needs to do is to house migrants in London at 4 figure rents per week!)
urged ministers to encourage their own local councils to take their “fair share” of refugees
(good luck with that one in leafy Tory areas !)
called on the government to accept 157 unaccompanied children in Calais who have family members in the UK
(If they were genuine refugees they could claim in France, why isn’t Vaz & chums encouraging France to take them?)
Mark Serwotka, general secretary of the Public and Commercial Services union, said
(Why bring in the leader of one of the most left wing unions into the debate when he isn’t even involved in the report? If the BBC are going to do this, for the sake of balance they should be including a quote by Nick Griffin !)
It all goes to show that yet again our politicians are completely detached from reality and haven’t got a clue (or care) about the views of the British people.
T ……..called on the government to accept 157 unaccompanied children in Calais who have family members in the UK………
HOW can these kids prove they have ‘family’ in the UK ? all of them travel without paperwork and ditch their passports so they cannot be returned, so who’s propagating the idea that their ‘family’ are over here. If its even remotely true, then why doesn’t the ‘family’ send for these kids through proper channels ? and where is Jude Law when you need him ??
They may not be able to come following yesterday’s decision allowing a Home Office appeal and requiring Dublin convention rules to be applied. Some common sense at last.
Why did they abandon their children in the first place?
People who put greed ahead of their kids are not the kind of people we should be bringing into the country.
+10 to Moise Pippic for pointing out Vaz is Catholic.
The 31 people who knee-jerk LIKED the comment “What can you expect from a fellow Muslim?” need to up their game..
“What can you expect from a fellow Muslim?” well we can expect some to be tribalist, and others not to be. I don’t think WE here should be tribalist against all people identifying as Muslims ..you’ve got to give the good guys a chance.
And those 157 will no doubt have 5-10 relations each living god knows where, who will be able to come here and live on benefits because the ‘kid’ has got in and will be classed as a UK resident.
Only 5 – 10 ? even 10 x 157 is too bloody many – that’s a small housing estate; so the proposed 20,000 families plus add ons, we are expected to provide for doesn’t bear thinking about.
Sooner we get out this EU shambles the better but I very much doubt May’s sincerity. But then, we can again make a mess of the Conservative/BBC’s plans if they differ significantly from true BREXIT come next election.
I cannot believe what I am hearing this morning on Radio 4 who have brought on two people to make slanderous accusations as to the mental health of Donald Trump.
The first one at 08:34 is David Cay Johnson who has been anti Trump for decades https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Cay_Johnston
He certainly appears from his books as someone firmly on the far left of politics, and an ardent anti Christian to boot.
He has a new anti Trump book to promote so no wonder the BBC see him as a suitable interviewee.
Followed by some woman equally vitriolic, but by this stage I was so annoyed I didn’t hear her!
Number 6
Donald might just tell Teresa May that her Islamic socialist state broadcaster is incompatible with the objectives of a free world and as as ally of the US she ought to privatize it. Ha, he might also remind her that the British people voted for Brexit.
They are running scarred-like the result from Britian to leave the EU, which caught the remain lot off guard and they still can’t reconcile themselves to the result-so the Clinton camp are just gob smacked that Trumpy boy has been nominated-suspect there will be a lot of dirty garbage thrown at the Trump camp-the USA is under the control of the massively powerful financial cartels that are the Federal Reserve & control the moeny & they want their man or woman in the position they can control-Trump is a definite problem for them.
I heard that too on Toady this morning, after the first one I expected there would be somebody like Ann Coulter or Laura Ingraham to counter the character assassination; but no, just some woman from Republicans Abroad to stick the boot in about Trump just the same and who Webb then encourages to vote Hillary at the end of the piece!
It was unbelievable, even by al beebus standards, they seem to get worse every week; there is not even a passing attempt at any objectivity at all.
I also caught Webb’s nasty little dig at Boris Johnson just before, the piece was about Madam Tussaud’s not having a waxwork of Theresa May yet despite moving Cameron into storage.
Webb said something like: “The Conservatives are still represented by a dummy there though…Boris Johnson!” What a totally unfunny, biased tw@t Justin Webb is!
David Cay Johnson was on Sky news last night where he was allowed to make a litany of allegations about Trump’s past with absolutely no rebuttal. Johnson has apprently spent many years attacking Trump, where was the balance in this report?
When Labour were in power there was ‘the grid’. Labour’s priority to have a propaganda story everyday delivered by The Today programme. Before Tony Blair the Today’s raison d’etre was to report leaks. During the Coalition the Lib Dems led by Sir Vince were only too happy to give the dirty on their colleagues. Well I assume that the new ministers are still trying to get to grips with their portfolios, or that the Tory Party is no longer tearing itself apart or that Conservative MPs are scared of Theresa. I know it is August but Mr D explained Today had led on a few lost records (I slept through that one), a go at competition amongst the energy companies which is stale news (except Mishal seems to think they will get in touch by letter so she is obviously not plagued by the endless telephone calls we get) and of course it is the hottest year ever. Well tell the last one to the marines as I put my pullover on. Without being fed stories by Labour or the Lib Dems neither of whom have any affect on the centre of Power, the Today programme has become the radio equivalent of The One Show.
Deborah…Well said. Toady and other supposed adult programmes all dumbed down by Beeb – they think we ‘re all about 8 years old.
I’ve been in jumpers for about a month now. Saw your earlier post re harverst v weather forecasts.
Try this weather site – I find it more accurate that the Met/bBc. http://www.xcweather.co.uk/
About right. Now BBc going Muslim with that Muslim female that won the Bake off Comp-pull the other one-my wife & friends who for years have baked and decorated cakes superbly were very dismissive of the cake that the Muslim baked for the Queen and now we see that this Muslim woman is being thrown all over the various magazines inc Radio Times, and is being given a slot on the One show tonight-well of course the BBC is not for the indig-white Brit, those that made Britain what is was but not so now sadly-Ricky Tomlinson’s prog last night about WW2 bombing of his home City Liverpool was most interesting as I can recall just how London was at that time-my God we had some backbone then-where’s it gone?
So true Tarien, I’ve mentioned on here many times, that the Beeb PR department has worked overtime in pushing this Bake Off winner to be the most prominent in the history of the series. Other winners have had to make ‘do’ with publishing a cook book, or setting up their own bakery business – but who remembers them now ? Equally that other BBC winner of Masterchef this year, Jane Devonshire, has all but disappeared without having any of the fanfare that this Muslim lady has enjoyed. Can any of our trolls on here account for this reasoning – or put the BBC spin on why Jane hasn’t been asked to produce a celebratory cake for the opening of the Rio Games ???? (if the Queen’s cake had been any good, it would have appeared in every woman’s magazine as a triumph – it didn’t, so we can conclude it was a disaster)
‘One’ would have expected something a lot more elaborate from a cake winner than 3 cakes covered in plain icing. Had she produced this in the Bake Off as the show stopper, she would have been out of the competition in the first week, which proves she has no real skills, and it was only her ethnicity that got her through, – we all know it ! regardless of what arguments are put forward by the BBC elite.
Semtex or marzipan?
Looks like a leaning tower of pizza to me…and can only imagine her lads flying imaginary fluted planes into it made of cupcake cases.See BBC tossers-when you show me a picture like this, then the Nasty Party gets going.
Maybe I`ll get Stephen Woolfe to lead it-anyone drink driving on a vespa in Moss Side is only doing what amazon or the Post Office would need to do to get a jump on the Bash St kids on Princess Road.
Bit of local politics there…
What did wearing lime green mean to the Queen-I`m sure Jenni Murry was going to fill her colostomy bag of an hours free airtime to tell us…before getting Bea Campbell in to moan at Royalty not being halal for her coming BBQ.
The above photo appears to be the only one available of ‘the cake’ – which is evidence that it wasn’t up to much, or it would have been photographed from every angle and syndicated to all publications. Ah well, if ever we feel the need for a monster 3 tier plain cake that can double up as a step stool, then we can contact …. Winner of Gbbo 2015 Contact:anne@akartistmanagement.com
BBC today programme gives vent to its anti British tendencies in reviewing Roger Casement, executed for treason one hundred years ago. We are told that it was the Belgian atrocities in its colony the Congo that made him an Irish nationalist . Is this implying equivalence of Ireland and the Congo? The house Muslim presenter refers to ‘the British’ as if they were foreigners, nothing to do with her . During a world war Casement supported Germany and Irish rebellion. That’s why he was executed. In modern times, traitors are given millions because their human rights have to be protected .
Casement was a very nasty piece of work altogether. I read extracts from his diaries many years ago. No doubt the Today programme would trumpet his paedophilia with boys , or maybe not ?
Big issue for the BBC – too few larger boats to protect our coastline against, invading migrants. ‘Today’ interviews the retired ex-head of the Border Agency and another talking-head. All tiptoe around the overwhelming question and fail to take their condemnation of ‘cuts over the years’ just that one small step onward viz, – If we had more boats and they intercepted migrants on their way to the UK coastline how would they deal with the matter, what would they do? Since the biased BBC don’t mention this point and don’t ask the reasonable question, naturally the listener could speculate on what the BBC want to hide. Any ideas? For my part, I suspect they would act as a ferry (as in the Med) and taxi the migrants to the shoreline whereupon they will gratefully receive asylum as it is their, ‘Human Right’. It could even reach the Med nonsensical proportions of the traffickers calling the Border Agency from France to alert them to expect a boatload (or 2 or maybe more?). So the pantomime goes endlessly on and on and on…………………….
Doesn’t just publicising the fact that we only have a couple of Boaty McBoatfaces to cruise the Channel, make for more attempts by migrants to chance their way across, knowing that there’s little hope of them being stopped.
Frustrated, angry, disillusioned-what is the matter with this country? If migrants are found floating on the seas around our shores then they should be boated straight back to any continental coastline and dumped-these migrants it is clear have not for whatever reason made application for asylum through the correct channels, therefore under the rules we have no obligation to give them shelter. Irrespective of all that, the real problem lies with the Traffickers whose revenue runs into billions of dollars-these evil devils have a massive organisation which will aggitate situations to cause explotions of immigration to Europe-there are many areas of Human Trafficking amongst them, sexual exploitation, & slavery, forced labour through intimidation control, pressure against families to find the money to pay for a passage to another country, which puts them in debt which again the Trafficker takes advantage of and more besides-this issue has grown so big that there is little that the world can do to prevent this human misery, but the West must pay attention to what the ultimate aim of the Islamic invasion is all about-destruction of Christian culture in the West as well as a war against Jews-just as their despotic ideology dictates.
Regret, Tarien, the real problem does not lie with the traffickers, it lies with the pathetic so-called ‘Leaders’ of this, once fine and respected country. It’s been heading down the pan for decades. We all, if not secretly, want a decent leader that will take the shambles by the scruff of the neck and give it a good shake and sort all the messes out. Not too much to ask for is it? Frankly, I would not put any one of these current ‘boy scout’s’ (including the current incumbent of No.10) into that position and this is not a condemnation of Baden Powell’s best!
Big article in the D/Mail today about a group of Calais migrants being allowed to stay in the Uk despite Judges ruling that they should NOT have been allowed to cross the Channel to join relatives in this country. They used the EU Human Rights Law to a “right of family life in this country” The Home Office appealed against the decision, and the Court of Appeal ruled that migrants living the Calais Jungle DO NOT have an automatic right to come to the Uk if members of their family are already here. BUT the HO is not planning to deport the 4 Syrians. Who will be to blame if any or all of this bunch will be responsible for an atrocity in this country ?? there will be lots of hand wringing and ‘lessons learned’ then.
I’m not apologising for saying that I don’t want these people here. Any of them, be they children or adults. The activists, protesters and No Borders prats clearly think otherwise, but long after I’m dead and gone they are the ones who will have to live with the consequences of mass migration.
Yes G I agree we are in a bloody dam mess no nor would I give much fo the lot we have currently in Westminster-of course they will if not already be instructed what to do by the Financial Cartel that controls Europe & USA-I will not be popular for saying this but maybe the time has come for a Benevolent Dictator to take the reins & sort the very dangerous problems this country now faces-before we see tanks emerging up and down the streets-whose tanks you may ask? Exactly.
Exactly G, unless the Navy is prepared to physically force them from UK waters and/or take them back to France then there is no point in wasting money boat patrolling.
The was the previous lead on Pravda’s business page quoting from the ‘independent’ ‘National Institute of Economic and Social Research (NIESR). Before looking at this piece in detail we might remind ourselves that until late last year NIESR was under the direction of one Jonathan Portes, previously Chief Economist at the Cabinet Office under Gordon Brown. NIESR is now led by Angus Armstrong, formerly of HMT and, er, Deutsche Bank.
NIESR were forecasting doom, doom and thrice doom prior to the vote and Messrs Portes and Armstrong were quoted in the Indy as saying “Risks are also attached to remaining in the EU, but appear easier to manage “ (arf). Presumably these risks included the banking vulnerabilities in Italy, Ireland, Holland and Germany, and the French economy hitting the buffers, which it did in the last quarter.
So given that the technical definition of a recession requires two consecutive quarters of negative growth, what are NIESR’s current forecasts for UK growth this year and next. ? Well according to Pravda “Overall the institute forecasts that the UK economy will probably grow by 1.7% this year but will expand by just 1% in 2017.” This shows a slowing of growth, which one might reasonably expect in the short term , but not a recession. So Pravda then says “This would see the UK avoid a technical recession”. Note the use of the qualifier “technical”. So where does the 50/50 chance come from ? Who knows, but it seems the BBC has acquired a new “non-technical” definition of ‘recession’.
And the piece goes on under the heading “Falling Optimism”, referring to a CBI SME business survey which sampled 472 firms. What this actually showed was business orders are not falling , they are stable. This sample suggests SMEs are actually hiring more staff and increasing production as they expect to export more goods due to the cheaper pound !
Although inflation due to higher import prices is possible, the latest survey from the British Retail Consortium shows overall prices fell by 1.6% in the year to July.
Every silver lining has a cloud it seems for the Jeremiah’s in W1A.
After a very healthy second quarter growth rate of 0.6 percent, we simply don’t know what the third quarter stats on real economic activity will show. The negative economic news trumpeted recently by the BBC was sentiment eg the purchasing managers survey, not real economic activity data. It may well be that the economy is slowing down this quarter but if so I would say it was mostly due to the unwarranted negativity spouted by Osborne and Carney. This can become self fulfilling. In my following of economics in the uk since the early 70s I have never heard a chancellor or governor of the bank of England trying to talk down the economy. Their actions were political and highly irresponsible . I’m sure that May would sack Carney but for its effects on the markets .
Meanwhile it’s worth noting that many world economic indicators are getting better which should be positive for an open economy like the uk.
Interesting how they still can’t quite bring themselves to commit fully, so things are couched in ‘could’ and mays’ and one degree of separation expertise.
I see the BBC’s pump primer at the Graun has decided the agony of Brexit has trumped any other considerations as their Kent Strawberries may either be tardy, more expensive or both at Waitrose or M&S or the organic store as those beastly proles are unlikely to pick up the slack caused by whatever is left of UKIP machine-gunning Polish pickers in the field in the next few weeks.
Questions of employment contracts, wages or benefit system failures not to be asked.
Who would ever EVER have believed not too long back that in 2016, you have to turn to the Russian station, ‘Russia Today’ to act as a balance to check the misinformation churned out by heavily biased, ‘Worlds Most Trusted Broadcaster’. Unbelievable.
On the brekkie sofa this morning was a certain historian Dominic Sandbrook discussing an upcoming program about the 1980’s but he seemed obsessed with Margaret Thatcher as the clips began with riots. It was noticeable when he referred to Mrs Thatcher as Thatcher but Foot got the full name treatment.
Yesterday the beeb were given the full pr treatment to the resolution foundation today they they are going full on with ofgems proposal for capping prices for prepay customers and and giving free advertising for First Utility and a certain Mr Ed Kamm who runs this outfit.
So true KatieH, I pointed out the other day that the Margaret Thatcher loose connection to our new lady PM had started, and yes, it makes my blood boil when they call her Thatcher and never their lefty mates. I stopped listening to News Quiz years ago when every week Jeremy Hardup would give ^thatcher’ as his answer to any question that was asked. Insidious creeping agitprop.
Calling someone by only their surname can be seen as a sign of greatness, e.g. Churchill, Gladstone, Disraeli, Beethoven, Shakespeare etc. Although it can also be used in the negative too, e.g. Hitler, Stalin etc.
It’s all the way the name is said – the Beeeboids and their lefty chums spit out the name when they say it and that shows how they disrespect her. If forced to use the full “Mrs. Thatcher” they would still spit it out – try saying it their way and see how easy it would be even for lefties of limited intelligence to do. Their obsession with the great lady is the crumb of comfort to be taken away as Beeboids are too stupid to see the error of their ways. If they hate her so much she must have been truly great.
He can be good re pop culture can Dominic…and has written some good stuff for the Mail-and even a decetn book or two about the 70/80s mores at that time.
Sadly, his last one on Saturday was about the credit card and the World Cup, which misses a lot of things I`d have wanted, had I bought the paper.
And you`re right -if he`s respectful of Foot and sneering of Mrs Thatcher-then can only assume that he`s hoping for the Times sometime soon, which would be a pity.
Hold on – I’m struggling to work why the BBC felt use of a warning was necessary or even appropriate. I’m trying to think of a single catastrophic right wing government in the past 100 years… National Socialism (no), Soviet Communism (no), Maoist Communism (no), The Khymer Rouge (no)…I’m running out of options here…
If we need a ‘warning’ against anything it’s a warning against the very real and present danger of the censorious, authoritarian spread of regressive liberal totalitarianism.
Have these people applying the rules ever read 1984 or Animal Farm? The world is truly upside down now. When the rule of law or rules made for your group are ignored, it’s a very slippery slope, at risk of becoming a sharp drop. The group think is astonishing.
I am now without hope and utterly despaired. His face in the screenshot mirrors mine.
Don’t be silly, reading stg that is not on Facebook or Twitter? They have prob checked it on wiki quickly, thinking alone more difficult than being outraged with others. They don’t have time anyway, the Olympics is here, got to think about such things as their darling Daley and the size of his swimming trunks.
I can’t see what his problem is here.
The university still has to abide by the US law and the constitution. The woman teacher does not have to accept the punishment by a non elected official and is well within her rights to sue, which is what I would have done the instant they proposed this course of action.
The only way these Fascists can get away with their hate is if people allow them to do so. The anger should be directed at the teacher, not the certifiable nutters who are just demonstrating their insanity.
Worse still the state does contribute funds to the Uni which it could easily withhold pending a return to sense.
All that it takes for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing – which is exactly what they appear to be doing !
I was musing about the “License Fee payer only access to iPlayer” from September …
This could be a bit awkward in terms of embedded video on the BBC web site (I live in hope) – I think it would be a good thing to have a post here on the subject. There seems not much I can find about how this is going to be implemented….
Very interesting question. There are a lot of questions which can only be resolved when the legislation is published. Somebody mentioned radio programmes yesterday. Theoretically the licence only covers TV and TV progrmmes, not radio, but radio streams are carried on the internet and most TV platforms, so it is not beyond belief that a zealous TVL might choose to read the new legislation on content to include radio. Other issues include what sort of video content would be covered by the legislation (as you mention). BBC News video clips and similar items which the viewer might not even be aware come from the BBC would be of concern, and there is olikely to be a grey area as to what is actually covered on iPlayer and other sources. Do programmes downloaded before 1 September count? What about BBC content arising on other media, not just DVD boxed sets, but whatever might happen in the future: will you need a licence to watch any BBC content that was once put out as a programme – even from series broadcast years ago?
I doubt that BBC radio will be taken off air with the changes to iPlayer rules because BBC broadcast via DAB and internet broadcasting.
When you signed up to iPlayer, the BBC informed you that they actually have control over the software on your PC. I assume it will be de-activated on 1 September. Has Parliament formally approved that though? I thought a vote in the House is required for Charter Renewal although it is something that normally goes through ‘on the nod’.
It will be interesting how many extra TV Licences are bought just before and immediately after 1 September.
It may turn out like the tighter listing limits that were introduced by eBay a while back. In order to try and make even more more money, they decided to limit free listings to 20 per month per (private) seller. Within a year or so they were popping up with all sorts of ‘bonus offers’ of extra free listings, now the bonus offer has become almost a rolling norm of an extra 100 per month! There’s a similarity between the BBC and eBay: you do not want to piss off the people who make your money for you, ie. the customer.
The BBC could find that the iPlayer using proportion of the population merely turn away from the BBC. The BBC will gain nothing in financial terms but lose recognition and even more support. The writing is on the wall for the avaricious BBC. You are going to have to cut the Licence Fee and trim your activities to suit a reduced income sooner or later.
So many of today’s terrorist attacks in the west have been copies of Palestinian terrorism in Israel against civilian targets such as the recent truck attack in Nice.
Are we ready in the west for the next copycat terrorist attack such as the one just thwarted in Jerusalem Israel….And again as not reported by the BBC!!..Although if it was, various excuses would be given and without doubt Israel somehow being blamed
On July 15, Ali Abu Hassan entered Israel through a valley outside of the eastern Tsur Baher neighborhood, with the intention of carrying out an attack in the capital as a form of “revenge for visits by tourists to the Temple Mount,” police said in a statement.
He was armed with three pipe bombs he had linked together into one large explosive and had covered with nails and screws dipped in rat poison. “In his bag there were also two knives and a cellphone,” police said Tuesday.
Methinks that the foreign office ( real name the camel corp ) are too anti-semitic to take advise from Israel, who have been infected by muslim terror for over 60 years and know a thing or two on how to sort them out.
Trying to think how the two diverse donut consumption units I keep seeing pictured as the ‘elite squad’ to be deployed in London with their HKs will deal with such as this sensitively, as it strolls by suitably attired to minimise profiling fears.
Immigration pays. It returns more to the Exchequer in tax than it costs to support. But there are no accounts where I can see figures to to support these claims. £23 Billion (yes BILLION) was removed from the UK economy at the last set of figures (2011) for ‘Remittances’ (money sent home to immigrants countries’ of domicile). I’ll bet there are a few UK companies who would welcome a slice of that sum. Yet every week the cost of Islam and so-called support of ‘Refugees’ rises. I hope that the costs involved in the State protecting us, the public, against those that would wish us harm domestically can be shown in the balance sheet entitled, ‘Cost Benefits of Multiculturalism and Immigration’. I’m sure there is a document titled such but I’m not privy to it anymore that the general public. If immigration pays and that were provable, why is the evidence not available? Indeed, every time the issue arises complainants questioning that veracity of that statement could be directed to the document couldn’t they? I want to see comprehensive accounts including, Guest Who’s ‘elite squads’ to the cost of the NHS setting up clinics all round the country dealing exclusively with FGM. There is a host of other ‘offsets’ to the secret balance sheet and the taxpayer should be made aware all the figures, plus and minus. I do not think we will be surprised.
G, that is a claim that is frequently made. But when you start to examine it carefully, that is not necessarily true. The economic thinking behind it comes from a slightly narrowed view of the success of 19th and early 20th century USA. It overlooks many of the hunger, poverty and tensions that came from immigration and got quite close to creating serious disturbances country-wide. Things have changed over a century ago! Also, economic understanding is also changing, learning new things, adapting to innovations.
The experience of post-1950s western Germany is another example but tends to overlook that at times they either were carrying unemployed or had to ask guest-workers to return home.
The Treasury has set, I think, a £35,000 minimum earnings limit for jobs that are open to companies wishing to bring in migrant workers. I think that achieves a guarantee that with the rules limiting TC support to newcomers together with the ENI paid, there is enough tax paid to Treasury to cover the ‘infrastructure’ needs, such as road space, health care, education for children, etc., of the incomer.
The place to watch will be Germany now. Have seen figures past me in the last week or so (sorry read quickly, don’t have source), that of the 1.1m immigrants to Germany last year only a fraction are working. Not sure about German refugee work rules (in UK a refugee migrant cannot work for two years and is supported by Social Security) but I think they do not give cash benefits and also as a nation, they rely on individual states together with charities, to help with the needs of incomers rather than dealing with it all at a Federal level.
It will be interesting to see the effect on Germany’s GDP.
Up2snuff – As is necessary in 2016 we need, ‘checks and balances’ don’t we? Its not there to support immigration paying.
The sources you refer to may be these with cited sources (all I would need……….). http://newobserveronline.com/invaders-cost-germans-e29bn-per-year/
G: Am not quite sure what you mean by “As is necessary in 2016 we need, ‘checks and balances’ don’t we? Its not there to support immigration paying. The sources you refer to may be these with cited sources (all I would need……….).”.
However it’s a good promo for The New Observer.
The first article doesn’t mention much by way of taxation that Germans will have to pay to support all that infrastructure spending. There could well be a long term economic benefit to planned, steady migration where there is a surplus of space and jobs. On a scale of about thirty to fifty years. When taxes rocket and jobs become scarce in Germany in a year or two, the short-term problems do not bear thinking about.
I heard the statistics a couple of days ago for the deaths in the Mediterranean for the first half of this year: 4,000 souls. I don’t know how Angela Merkel can sleep at night.
Up2snuff, having been involved with the law for many years, so forgive me, I have become very biased in favour of evidence. Let’s see the figures and then decide if immigration pays. My guts tell me ‘No’. I’m afraid I will not be happy as evidence, studying American history or examining it, ‘carefully’. The essential fact is, there is no evidence to examine carefully.
Even The Canary isn’t happy with the beeb!!! I don’t agree with many of the articles on this site however this is a wonderful piece of journalism and is extremely worrying
Lets cheer ourselves up.
Al Beeb are running a Have You Say about more armed police on the streets of London.
And it is not going well for them http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-36961338
Not sure if they are merely throwing crumbs to the masses but a year or two ago most of the ‘racist’ comments would have been deleted by the censors , oops I mean site administrators. The Al Beeb newsroom marxists must be crying into their Chablis as they discover the ‘racist’ views are in fact totally mainstream and it is they whio have comprehensively lost the argument.
Happy days !
A refugee propagandist just spoke on LBC bemoaning the fact that Britain isnt taking more.
The latest tack by the media seems to be that they ‘want to go back’ ROFL! Once they are here not only will they never go back but will bring as many family members as they can to join them!
Have that lot on the Scottish Isles who thought it was a depressing place to live been relocated or sent back to Syria ? Apparently they thought they would be sent to London or Manchester. Honest to God, that we all should live where we want to. I’d like a residence in Hawaii, or to live in Canada where I have family, but it ain’t gonna happen. Although both places are looking increasingly attractive as my homeland is being taken over by aliens.
So, another abduction attempt of one of our soldiers…. the BBC should be prioritising this story but of course it’s too uncomfortable for their all-too-predictable narrative. Cannot find it on their main news page at time of writing. This should be headline story.
Brilliant Alex. So the Telegraph cannot ask the simple question: ‘Were the two individuals of Middle Eastern appearance?’ or even, ‘Tanned?’ using BBC terminology. Why?
“Red in the face” or “Slightly Flushed” maybe?
Sadly the Telegraph is as terrified and cowed as everyone else of being accused of waycism or Islamophobia, perhaps more so being to the right and therefore more open to the charge, so they bend over backward not to appear so.
Something the BBC are not covering just yet, but the alliance of SWP Trots, Class War Anarchists, LBGT wallahs, moslems within the Black Lives Matter Movement is managing to cause disruption. Last Friday a few streets were blocked and this Friday they plan major disruptions in London.
You see, the police are wantonly killing unarmed black people as part of their racist objectives.
And now more of them will be armed.
Problem is that the Appeaser has already declared tacit support for the Komrads when she criticized the attitude of the cops to persons of colour. No arrests expected.
Looking forward to Friday’s planned disruption following the visit to the mosques by all concerned. I confess to touching up one of the photos here. Wonder if Sir Lenny will approve
Whenever you hear the words ‘far-Right’ you just know you’re dealing with the far-Left, the real modern-day fascists. The likes of Far-Right Watch deem anyone whose views they disagree with as Far-Right. They are the epitome of generation snowflake.
“…The likes of Far-Right Watch deem anyone whose views they disagree with as Far-Right.”
Where are the mythical ‘Far Right’, though? I keep hearing about their existence – the BBC keep referring to them – but somehow they never seem to actually materialise?
One only has to look at who is actually causing havoc on urban streets with violent demonstrations, who is race-baiting and sowing societal division, to see that the fascists of today are the regressive left: narcissistic, loud, entitled, deluded and almost completely totalitarian in outlook and dogma. They abhor free speech, seek to shut down dissent and when they speak of ‘diversity’ they speak of diversity in all things but opinion.
Millennial snowflakes are the cancer of our times. They are a danger to our freedoms, to our culture and to our future. They infest social media, turning what should be a great democratic tool into a weapon of political dogma, and they have taken almost complete control of western msm.
What do the ‘right’ have? Fox News? Breitbart? Erm… hold on, I’m thinking… nope.
Education is a lost cause, now. Subsumed – so far down the progressive rabbit hole it’s fair to say entire generations have been both cheated of a balanced education and an equitable future.
It’s a parlous state of affairs. God, I hope Trump wins in November. Coming on the back of Brexit here in the UK, it would be such a double-whammy to the regressives and all they stand for (which is Orwellian in thought, speech and action).
@G.W.F above, These middle class spoiled brats really need to get a fright. The police should go in very heavy handed to give these pathetic wannabes a real lesson in what it would be like living in a proper communist state; extremely violent and authoritarian; what they don’t realise is they can only dress in their silly little fantasist outfits because they are lucky enough to live in a tolerant society; these spoiled brats would be the first to run to mummy and daddy if they were to live in a communist state. Look at them…. they’d run a mile if they were confronted with proper violence.
Simple how to deal with this scum.
Just set your meetings to a local job centre…you can bet that none of the above would see it as anything but kryptonite to them.
To be honest-we need to sort them out really-any STD/sexual health or needle exchange by a CPN practice normally isolates them out…we just need to get smart as we used to be in the SWP, CND days.
Don`t REALLY see why we need to put up with it-the BBC craves it, but they`re likely to be found at all the above outlets, like tomato plants at the end of the sewer pipe.
As well as anything with a velvet rope or a VIP bit for their bosses….time to act.
Just what was planned, more disruption by the populace, more reason to further arm the police & involve the military-Freedom of speech is being stamped on-Britain First a reg Political party, continually being plagued by the police for holding marches supporting Britain & British values against those being thrwon at us by Islam. As it happens I’m not a member of Brit First but fully sympathise with their disgraceful treatment from the Police-One law for them & one law for the followers of Islam. Something is definitely not right in the West, I would almost say an evil force has and is at work.
beeb (un) surprisingly slow to pick up on attempted abduction of squaddie outside Aldershot.
Everyone else has.
When they do, it’ll be ‘someone tried to abduct someone else. Nothing known about motives, but definitely not Jihad related, probably a tragic domestic dispute’.
Oops, my mistake, there IS mention of attempted abduction of squaddie on beeb online.
But you have to go to: Home – Uk – England – Regions – South – Hampshire, then scroll down to the very very bottom of the page, and there it is bold as anything. But not a beeb report, but from the Southern Daily Echo. Thank goodness the beeb haven’t completely squeezed out the independent local press… yet.
So, that’s now 2 attempted abductions my multiple kidnappers against solitary servicemen out for a jog.
Don’t think much of those Jihadi training camps.
But we`ll not win the womens synchronised disability water polo now!
Team GB…oh no!
How dare we allow the sporting aquatic champs of the UAE to nobble us in Lutons pools?
I for one am crying Zika tears, and now see how cast aside wives dumped in the pool after Friday prayers could yet get me my Bronze Lifesavers badge…like my Cycling Proficency Scandal, I was not deemed able to “match the standards”.
But I`m not bitter-“delapsus resurgam” as we were once taught to say.
I thought I`d sniffed my trainers up on the high chair as well as Dale or Lee , but the lardarse in the swimming cozzie said no.
Prejudice…anti Northern Bias!
Come to think of it…if Lutons Mozzas are already ON dry land…why do they need to learn to swim yet faster and more sneakily that they did to get here on the BBCs ” HMS Puffinstuff”?
If I see a polystyrene model of USS Cole getting carried in by our hennae`d hipsters of hate…take at least eight of them I`d guess-then I`ll be far from happy, and will need my submarine rubber ring set to “spout”.
S`pose they`ve misinterpreted the idea of the “Water Babies” book-it`s not what THEY think its about.
Either that or they`re planning some throat action at baptisms in Bedford or such….

Three cheers for Mishal Hussein on the TODAY programme for standing up to some awful woman spokesperson from energy providers.
Three boos for Martha Kearney who interviewed a guy from the World Bank or IMF or some-such on WatO. She made a dim bulb from Sleaford look really bright. She turned the Brexit vote on its head (apparently we were not voting to leave a protectionist group and join the world economy but the opposite!), asked no questions and appeared to accept everything she was told as totally true, even when it was contradictory.
The other amazing thing to pop out of it all was that old people may be off the hook for Brexit. Apparently it was all the fault of the middle-classes who haven’t been able to get their snouts in the 1% trough enjoyed by many of the BBC staff!
Poor Martha. Not enough brain to realise that a vote only a month ago in the UK has not tipped the whole globe on end but other factors, from the past couple of years or more, are at work.
Wonder if we could talk another bee into shutting Martha down for a few weeks.
Decommission a Dull Lefty as it were.
Maybe I should be training my drone Xerxes to go for lefty oafs at the Beeb and beyond…electronic falconry maybe?
Happy to take sponsorship. Could paint your brand on the side with nail polish if you like.
If anybody knows any other frailties in Lefty Beeby twonks apart from Martha and her bees( and what else would Martha do-but keep bees of course?)-let me know…might be able to modify it to shoot peanuts!

Nowhere. Supine England has lost the will to defend itself, and Englishman have lost their balls.

Alex 4:19 pm: Just had a look at this report. The question that springs to mind is “why the hell were these people allowed bail, leaving them free to walk the streets?” We know that many other alike people under serious charge just disappear to Pakistan or wherever, so how many of these will do so?
Looks like another ex beeboid is joining ofcom. Kevin Bakhurst deputy director-general and managing director of news and current affairs for RTE in Ireland at the moment.

“Hundreds more armed police, with handguns and semi-automatic weapons, will be put on patrol around London’s major landmarks – as the Met police chief promised to help reassure the public and deter terror attacks.”
Hundreds, eh? Around London?
And where did that latest ‘episode’ en France occur?
Just been watching the BBC News at 11pm report the same news. They showed the police pulling over a blonde white woman for a vehicle check immediately followed by quick street interviews, to get the public thoughts about extra armed police, with 3 people on the street – the first 2 of those 3 being dark skinned (to symbolise that immigrants are victims).
BBC really trying to spin this away from Muslims who we all know are the most likely terrorists. BBC really scraping the barrel though by pretending the Police need to pull over white blonde woman as ‘anyone could be a terrorist’.
Yes Tabs, wasn’t it a blonde who drove that truck in Nice? Or murdered the priest? Blew up the London underground? Brussels, Bataclan, Munich, Orlando, San Bernardino, the list goes on and on: all blonde women! Well i’ve had enough! Send them back to Scandinavia where they belong!
This just happened on C4 News but it could have been the BBC. A completely covered Muslim newsreader, adorned with headscarf , pofaced, read out an item about some Muslim guy living in England at the time, who absconded with his 16 year old daughter to Saudi so he could keep her in a cage and prevent her living a life that, in Beitish culture , would be that of a normal teenager – no comment or analysis by C4 news. It’s as if they didn’t want to report it . But by allowing the Muslim to read the news they want us to believe Islam is part of our culture now . There’s a lot of hard work to be done to save our country and culture, folks .
You did well to miss it. I think this same head scarfed reporter/ newsreader got Kelvin Mackenzie into trouble when he said that she was an inappropriate person to go to Nice and report the lorry attack by our RoPer friend.

I wonder if this will be widely advertised with a month to go.
“Sources say” that the Beeb is pushing that anyone who has a broadband link, laptop or pad (mobile phone?) able to access iPlayer needs to pay its Poll Tax. Crapita will love it!

Caught a newsreader on Channel 4 wearing a Hijab. If these women feel strongly about covering their hair, then why not take the Jewish tradition (that should start a war) of wearing a Sheitel (wig), and us the viewer wouldn’t be any the wiser and be far less irritated than having an overt religious accessory pushed in front of us. I realise that impartiality of newsreaders is of a bygone age, but I refuse to watch anything that encourages us to be accepting by stealth. Having talked to a number in my circle, I’m not alone in thinking this, and the number one gripe is accepting as the norm, by advertising, the mixed race partnership. Clearly a regular occurrence in the big cities, but veer off the motorways and these arrangements are as rare as hen’s teeth, yet we view it as not living on the same planet. Many also raised concerns about same sex snogging on the box, but were in fear of being accused of ‘homophobia’ , much as the same way as being called racist; – these fears are the elephants in the room, – we end up just tut tutting, but in reality the disdain of the many is overrode by the acceptance of the few.
Not the BBC but the equally appalling ‘Independent’, which thinks Nicola Adams (who won Gold in boxing at London 2012) should have been preferred to Andy Murray as GB & NI’s flag-bearer at the Rio Olympics:
“There is a bigger, more emblematic reasons [sic] of course. What would it have said about our country for a gay woman of mixed race to be our representative at Friday’s opening ceremony? It would put right an inequality, too. Since the 1908 Olympics, only three women have been chosen as our flag bearers – Anita Lonsbrough, Lucinda Green and Kate Howey. Never has Britain sent more women to an Olympics overseas than here, so when better than [sic] to put that right?”
It will be interesting to see how beeb covers this – if it’s even allowed to happen…

Without them the numbers may possibly struggle, as few from the other side of the spectrum attend such rallies as a career choice. Less so if they are magnets for the kind of chaps the police prefer to indulge by not getting in their way.
Wish them well, but the BBC crowd counter will be active, unless editorial integrity means no time or space to even mention it.

mental illness is the new codeword for muslim terrorism. presumably the police had a psychiatrist as part of the response team in addition to the regular officers and firearms crew. Not ruling out terrorism? Just throw that in there.

The Daily Star website has this interesting paragraph…..
“A 35-year-old man, who wished to remain anonymous told the Daily Star Online: “I saw two men of Middle Eastern descent acting suspiciously outside the Imperial Hotel, on Southampton Row.
“One man made off on a motorbike down the wrong side of the road with the other man heading in a different direction.””
Unproven as of yet, but what interests me is that are several reports elsewhere about a second person.
Listen Duck, there’s a simple explanation: a pack of lone wolves with mental problems bumped into each other quite by chance and 1 of them accidentally killed a woman who tripped on the knife he was carrying as protection from far – right Norwegian thugs. Probably a domestic dispute. Makes perfect sense. In Beebland.
Numbr 6 – Never thought i’d say this but i’m starting to like RT:
‘Are these claims of mental health problems the means by which to downplay terrorist attacks in the eyes of the public’?
Like all outlets they have their faults……but you will hear actual news when the so called bbc are trying to hide it under a slew of inanity and irrelevance masquerading as news
More specifically, it was BBC Radio 4 AND the Today programme.
Oh dear. All that lobbying to ‘Remain’ in the three months before the Referendum with record listening numbers. It rather looks as though the general public realised they were facing a propaganda blitz and it ‘smelt’ suspiciously wrong to them so they voted accordingly on 23rd June.
I think the BBC are so stupid that they don’t realise that the more they push one of their political agendas the more people react against it. Like all Lefties , they do not understand human nature. They are morons.
It’s getting to the stage where nothing further can be said, serious or satirical, about our biggest single problem, and the absurd, or totally absent, reaction of the MSM. I’m not even going to try.
It’s well beyond parody.
We’re approaching a situation where it’s all going to kick off somewhere in Europe. I’d give it less than 12 months now. People in authority, past and present, will have blood on their hands. We know who they are.
Sadly you are likely right in your prediction. It is only amazing how long the clamping of the pressure cooker by the political media establishment has endured with no more than a dodgy bacon door handle or snarky tweet for them to trumpet as a backlash to inspire fear.
I don’t wish it, and if it happens it will be from those every bit as bad as those provoking and protected by state tools engage in currently, because when it does it will wipe the entire slate clean as far as the likes of the BBC is concerned.
Which will only inspire the rest of their apparent core clientele to weigh in full of righteousness only short memories can generate.
Yes folks. Another mass enrichment carried out on the infidels… in central London this time..
According to the devious bastards at Al Beebistan HQ
“mental health is a significant factor…”
I for one agree. Why the hell you would give your life or take others because some psychotic, pedophilic, blood thirsty warlord from 1400 years ago tells you is beyond me. Every single thing about the death cult ideology is beyond me and completely and utterly against everything we stand for in the West.
What also isn’t breaking news is
“All the traitorous scumbags that work at Al Beebistan HQ have mental illness too”
Any one see the BBC coverage of the UKIP leadership election? On the 10 o’clock news last night they were going round interviewing people in pubs, (reinforcing the BBC view of UKIP as a bunch of middle aged, inarticulate drunks) and showing pictures of the candidates….some of whom are MEPs and guess what? ………low voter recognition.
Why is that? Could it be that for years the BBC only covered UKIP in the most superficial way possible?
And of course there’s the celebrity factor….there are a handful of media friendly and trained ( or tamed) politicians who appear repeatedly on all channels.
Low voter recognition of politicians is a reflection of the BBCs incompetence at showing us a broad range of political opinions and personalities able to articulate those opinions.
Yes, Embolden, you would believe that UKIP was on its last legs if you followed the BBC biased propaganda. However, Good News(?): the BBC have announced that their listeners have risen dramatically to 11.5 million embracing the period leading up to the Referendum. Trumpeting this as a sign that pre-Referendum people turned to their radios and the BBC to keep up with developments. I have a different view. In view of the fact that the BBC failed to persuade the majority of their listeners to ‘Remain’ , perhaps those increased BBC listeners were hooked on the BBC’s bias. They were daily intrigued to watch and listen how far the BBC would go in massaging the information. The listener was certainly not disappointed.
Don’t you realise that the BBC uses individual interviewees to reinforce its own bias? If they interview 20 people then pick out three or four pushing their line, plus one obvious fool who is anti- BBC line, that is their definition of balance.
The other ploy charmbrights is to diminish the profile of the side of the argument you wish to eliminate. at its extreme, if you interview a subject that supports your view make him/her a Professor (assuming in the BBC’s case that Prof. understands the BBC point of view and will not deviate). Contrast that for the opposing argument from some unshaven jerk smoking outside the local boozer. To me, it is reminiscent of that Monty Python sketch, you know the one, ‘I look up to him/he looks down on me……….’. That one.
I think that was on the Frost Report, about 1967 or so. What a different country it was then.
As to the Ukip candidates, you could show people photos of the Cabinet and very few of them would be recognised by most people. As for the Shadow Cabinet, I think no-one apart from Jezza and Dianne Abbott would get any recognition at all. But of course that was not the point of the piece, which was to belittle Ukip by any means possible. Where’s Jerrod when you need him?
Russell Square attacker described by BBC and all MSM has a 19 year old with ‘mental health problems’. Is this code?
Will this turn out to be another of the usual suspects?
Speaking of which, the victim again seems to have been shunted aside by BBC subs ASAP, as yet again a location and weapon take inanimate precedence in an ‘attack’.
I really dont hold out much hope for you guys on the mainland who are in need of a proactive police programme of going after these islamic murder gangs
The policy is passive containment and always will be
We had to put up with IRA slaughter for the best part of 30 years, and tharpt was pretty much before the cancer of OC inflicted its plague on society……so you can imagine what you’re up against now
And all the time the British government was talking to the scum regularly from 1972 onwards
You wont need telling I’m sure, but do not trust those in positions of power…..they will sell you down the river in a heartbeat
You`re probably right though Number 6, these days the OC will probably be PC.
Hence I am not reassured by news that the Navy may soon be “on station” to guard the channel against invaders……. or more likely, to guard against any drownings or other unpleasantness by picking up the illegal migrants and assisting them in their onward journeys.
Amusing to read this comment from London’s mayor, Citizen Khan:
“A man was arrested at the scene. Police have spoken to him and are seeking to establish the full facts including motives for this attack. I urge all Londoners to remain calm and vigilant.”
Shouldn’t that be “any remaining Londoners to remain calm and vigilant” as there seem to be precious few of them left in Londonistan? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-36972126
The report on the BBC website actually emboldens the passage, “The Met said mental health was a ‘significant’ factor”. Well, it’s good to know that every team of heavily armed, highly trained special police charged with dealing with these sort of incidents contains a qualified psychiatrist. This can only account for the their speedy diagnosis that the savage involved in this incident had mental health problems. Strange though, the only witness interviewed by the BBC, said he saw a, ‘dark skinned man’, ‘middle eastern’, Muslim. But there, the witness is not equipped to pass a medical opinion on the mental state of this individual.
Why should we be ‘vigilant’ if these are just mentally ill attacks? Surely nothing can be done about that especially as mental illness affects all kinds of people regardless of age, sex, country of origin, religion!
Wasn’t that long ago that someone suspected of having a mental illness was sent to doctors for evaluation but with modern technology the BBC can diagnose it almost immediately just from the first reports of an attack.

“Elsewhere much pointless speculation on what might happen if interest rates are lowered to counter the “downturn” in the economy after BREXIT”. Forget interest rates being lowered , just look at these rates ?
Shall we blame it on BREXIT?………………………. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-36966961
Well we could justifiably do just that, especially the way the people of Wales supported BREXIT ! They are just listening to the propaganda any more.
Get rid of the unfair licence.
Surely the way to deal with these poor individuals suffering from “mental health issues” who keep on killing innocent infidels is to give them a house, lots of benefits and then allow all their extended family members to join them from Pakistan/Syria/Somalia?
One of the stupider newspeak terms is “mental health” when used as a reason for offending, murder and mayhem.
Surely it`s mental ill health, mental illness, disease or disorder of the mind that`s the worry, the word “lunatic” went out of use around the time they took over the asylum.
I`ve always understood mental health as a desirable state of affairs.
As an aside though, there seems to be a correlation developing between murderous mental ill health and the ROP.
Anyone trying to establish the causative relationship? can it be anything at all to do with words and example of its founder?

If the BBC are going to do this, for the sake of balance they should be including a quote by Nick Griffin !)
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-36960905

The first one at 08:34 is David Cay Johnson who has been anti Trump for decades
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Cay_Johnston
He certainly appears from his books as someone firmly on the far left of politics, and an ardent anti Christian to boot.
He has a new anti Trump book to promote so no wonder the BBC see him as a suitable interviewee.
Followed by some woman equally vitriolic, but by this stage I was so annoyed I didn’t hear her!

It has been pointed out many times on here that Sky is nearly as bad as the BBC when it comes to leftist bias. However:
a) Sky does not constantly shout about its commitment to impartiality and rebut complaints with the arrogance of a third world dictator.
b) Sky subscription is not compulsory with a threat of imprisonment for non-payment.

England,
Casement was a very nasty piece of work altogether.

“Brexit ‘means economy faces 50/50 recession chance’.

The BBC: stuck in its liberal regressive echo chamber, unable any longer to tell the difference between good and bad, right and wrong…
“…He warned that a Trump presidential election victory could herald a very strong turn to the right around the world.

You see, the police are wantonly killing unarmed black people as part of their racist objectives.
And now more of them will be armed.
Problem is that the Appeaser has already declared tacit support for the Komrads when she criticized the attitude of the cops to persons of colour. No arrests expected.

But I`m not bitter-“delapsus resurgam” as we were once taught to say.
I thought I`d sniffed my trainers up on the high chair as well as Dale or Lee , but the lardarse in the swimming cozzie said no.

But of course that was not the point of the piece, which was to belittle Ukip by any means possible. Where’s Jerrod when you need him?
