“”Brexit may send EU ‘down the drain’ – German vice chancellor””
“”If we organise Brexit in the wrong way, then we’ll be in deep trouble, so now we need to make sure that we don’t allow Britain to keep the nice things, so to speak, related to Europe while taking no responsibility.””
….so now we need to make sure that we don’t allow Britain to keep the nice things….
Ha ha ha ha! Never let it be said the Germans don’t do irony. Presumably they still want to SELL us their ‘nice things’ though, in which case the BBC might like to point out they need to tread very carefully with how they pitch any deal.
I hope I can be indulged in reposting what I wrote at the end of the last thread, as I believe this story needs as wide an airing as possible.
“I wouldn’t normally post something as off-topic as this, but it goes, in my opinion, to the heart of the problem of the BBC and its protection of certain minorities at any cost.
It purports to show Tommy Robinson being ordered out of Cambridge on with a Section 35 dispersal order when watching football in a pub with his children. I’m never quite sure what to make of Mr Robison but one doesn’t have to approve of someone to recognise when the State is harassing and victimising someone who is getting under their skin. If this sort of thing is being done openly to him now and is allowed to stand without serious repercussions on the officers involved, how long until similar methods are being used on you or I?”
I glad you’ve commented on this because I too feel both angry and fearful that the police can persecute this man, brazenly and persistently, with no consequences to themselves. I think Mrs May should be telling her new Home Secretary to put a stop to this shameless abuse of power by the police. I’m surprised that Tommy Robinson hasn’t taken legal action against them; I’d contribute to his legal costs if he did.
The liberal elite who are now the establishment in the country obviously see Mr R as a threat. Once they have decided to persecute him there no way to stop them because they run the police, the judiciary and of course the media and they have all the main parties on their side. This is what elites do when threatened .They will keep up the harassment until Mr R has had enough and goes quiet. They will pursue anyone who questions their policies , let alone leads a movement which opposes them as he did. What is happening to Mr R will be replicated many times over. Unless we plebs conform to their wishes the repression will continue to increase. Already the establishment has growing control of social media. If this site ever becomes even mildly influential measures will be taken against it. How long the liberal left will hold power is impossible to predict but time is not on the side of those who oppose them because within a few decades they will have succeeded, intentionally or not, in creating an Islamic Europe.
The exact analysis. I watched the entire video of the incident and it was chilling. One policeman in particular embodied something Solzhenitsyn would have recognised at once. At least one or two of the others seemed a little ashamed .
We can expect no quarter from our elites. They have always hated the ordinary people and regard freedom and free speech as something for them and for us only on their terms.
Tommy is in an old tradition and that tradition says that when a real ordinary man of the people causes any trouble to the elite then he must be silenced one way or another.
He is young with a family that means everything to him and this makes him vulnerable. They know this and play on it.
It is for this and other reasons that I will no longer argue with or treat with any fairness those who are apologists for our elites. There is no point ,
The BBC is their mouthpiece and always was.
Brexit was a huge shock to them. Trump is and will be another . Expect trouble down the road for all who are now enemies of this elite here and worldwide.
The reason the establishment see Tommy Robinson as such a serious threat is because he speaks to and for the only demographic that will actually do something tangible about the Islamic problem. Mr R no doubt still associates with some pretty unsavoury characters, probably connected to the NF, C18 and the like. They use football as a front, which is probably why the police were onto him at the weekend. The fact that he had his kids with him was possibly as a shield? We don’t know the full facts regarding events leading up to the police arriving, or the other characters in the pub with him, so it’s not fair to comment. That’s not a defence of the police tactics, just a fair appraisal of the event.
Anyway, as I said, Mr R is seen as a threat because he is capable of inciting violence that his followers WILL act upon if instructed, whereas most of us on here probably aren’t because we move in very different circles. I’d like to bet that most contributors to this forum are in the age group 35-60 and firmly rooted in the middle class. It’s just not in us to actually do anything other than go pissing & moaning on internet forums, and the authorities know that, which is why they leave us alone. That’s not to say we won’t be monitored. A Penny to a Pound says that they monitor this forum pretty closely, which is why you have to be very careful what you say on here. We already know that their stooges come on here to try to goad us, and no doubt if anyone post anything that could be construed as ‘hatred’ or incitement, they will be reported.
The trouble we have, as well-behaved middle-class folk, is that most muslims we come into contact with are perfectly decent and reasonable people, just like anyone else. What are we going to do, punch Naseem from the corner shop because he’s a muslim? Of course not, but some of Mr R’s followers would. The truth is that most muslims are what the MSM like to call ‘moderate’ – which is true. The vast majority, like us, would never lift a finger to another human being. However, where the MSM let us down is when they talk about ‘moderate islam’, for there is no such thing. Moderate muslims are one thing, but moderate islam is a lie, and well they know it. The establishment, behind closed doors, are no doubt troubled by the islamification of Britain, but it’s been allowed to go on for so long that they now have to tread a very fine line. A crackdown now would be counter productive as it would drive some of the moderate muslims closer to their religion, which could gather pace and reach the point of critical mass, at which point all hell would break loose and there could be a near civil war as is likely going to happen in France within a couple of decades. I really don’t know the answer, and truth be told, I don’t think any of us does. Worrying times ahead…
“The reason the establishment see Tommy Robinson as such a serious threat is because he speaks to and for the only demographic that will actually do something tangible about the Islamic problem. Mr R no doubt still associates with some pretty unsavoury characters, probably connected to the NF, C18 and the like.”
Agree with the first part but would like to see evidence for the second. Also depends on your definition of “unsavoury”. Most of the time these days it seems to depend on the language you use more than the harm you inflict. The UK’s unsavoury groups are highly diverse but they don’t all appear to attract the same level of condemnation.
When it all kicks off, as I think it will, don’t look to hairdressers for help:
“People Sleep Peacefully in Their Beds at Night Only Because Rough Men Stand Ready to Do Violence on Their Behalf”
Neil,
How can moderate Muslims exist when moderate Islam does not? I think you are confused by knowing some’ ice’ Muslims. If Muslims do not follow Islam they aren’t Muslims.
Can you please say why you think that Tommy Robinson “is capable of inciting violence that his followers will act upon if instructed” and that is why he is regarded as a threat? I have followed his story with interest ever since watching the you tube video of his Oxford Union talk and q&a. I have been impressed by his attempts not to associate with those who may wish to stir violence and wonder why you have concluded otherwise. It is all too easy to impugn people – please justify this allegation because it is not at all how I see TR?
JTF,
The police have were taken over by the liberal left elite along time ago.How else do you explain their refusal to do anything about Rotherham and all the similar cases of mass rape by Muslims when they had known all about them for years.
Correct , and who was it that first flagged up the abuse of white girls by Pakistani muslims?…yes, the Left’s cover boy, Nick Griffin, over twenty years ago. He was castigated for this and prosecuted, supported by the BBC. Far from being right-wing, the BNP’s policies mark them as indeed left-wing, and Griffin agreed in one interview that they were in fact more left than right……something that horrifies the Left, and so they wrongly tarred the BNP as far right, and it stuck….fooling most except myself and others who dig deep on these groups. As a force, yes the Police are now useless to British people, indigenous, non-muslim people that is….so it is important to keep the Army sweet and on-side…there are soldiers serving and retired that have fought the Islamists and know what they are like and what we are against…it would be to them that any resistance to muslim violence must be utilised and backed, after they have neutralised the worthless Govt.
Not bias but just plain stupidity by a BBC reporter. James Reynolds in Italy amongst the earthquake ruins asked what the Italian government would be doing to present these disasters happening in the future. I just wondered what he had in mind? Raise all the mediaeval buildings perhaps? And where? how does he think anyone is going to predict where the next earthquake is?
Deborah, I think there are worrying signs that the BBC will not ever need to be accused of dumbing down their output for the population, because their presentation (and some programming now) is being done by apparently brain-dead executives, producers, editors and presenters. Either ‘apparently brain-dead’ or just people who do not care about quality anymore. Your example comes from News. I would add an entertainment item from Saturday 27 August on Radio 4.
At 3.30pm Laura Barton presented and narrated a programme about a little known (on this side of the Atlantic), long dead, American female folk singer, Karen Dalton.
Subject matter apart, Barton – who may not have been a good choice as narrator – obviously lacked an editor or controller or some other critical feedback from the recording desk, as well as no Producer able or willing to provide post-recording feedback and ordering changes or a re-recording. Her voice was unsuitable, she was allowed to record in a sotto voce monotone and its level and timbre, which could have been tweaked to something more tolerable by the engineers, had the quality of nails being scratched down a school chalkboard. She appeared to be reading from a script from a writer she hated and wished to subvert.
I HAD to switch off after a few minutes.
It was that bad. Another problem the BBC will face increasingly in future is that that quality of programming immediately made me think of all other examples of falling quality standards from BBC Radio 4. I had an increasing number from which to choose.
Maybe James Reynolds should have suggested that the Italian Government install a direct link to Tracey Island so International Rescue can be on site quicker. This would all be in line with the BBC s current sense of reality when dealing with the immigration and other issues.
I am surprised that James didnt make the call himself. The “Mole” could have been very useful in getting people out of collapsed buildings.
Sadly the calibre of reporters that we had in the day of Cliff Mitchelmore, Alan Wicker, Fife Robertson et al have long since gone. Even in sports reporting there was a maturity that we haven’t seen for decades. The Olympics in Rio was like watching an outside broadcast of Blue Peter and the Teletubbies. There was never the now standard scripts of… “how do you feel…”, “give us a sense of …..”, “describe the mood…..” etc from them, which are uttered so often, that anyone who can speak could do the presenting. Their job was to describe, ask intelligent questions and give unbiased reporting.
Any job on the tele appears to be one big ‘jollyday’ with an extra pay bonus if you get picked to appear on Strictly.
You expect a BBC “reporter” to give you facts? The Media in general were once looked on as the “4th Estate”, there to keep some control of the executive. But no longer, they are a fifth column strangling our way of life and culture for the benefit of “labour” and foreigners who wish us harm. It is merely a propaganda arm for all things green however stupid and wrong.
I noticed that, I’m hoping it isn’t corrected as ‘ban holiday’s seems more appropriate. Especially given the news of Tommy Robinson, supposedly a Nazi in the eyes of the leff, being forced out if a city despite committing no offence whatsoever other than to challenge the establishment narrative.
It’s quite shocking, isn’t it? Surely one doesn’t have to agree with Mr Robinson’s politics to recognise what a serious matter this is and how it could be done to anyone who displeases the current consensus. It’s a very slippery slope with a high gradient that has been embarked upon here and utterly typical that the story is nowhere to be found on the BBC or indeed the wider MSM.
Amongst the usual Breitbart froth in the comments are some less excitable heads looking at the wording of the section and it seems clear to me, as a non-lawyer, that Plod have exceeded their powers. I hope this is taken further and am actually minded to add to Mr Robinson’s crowd-funding, even though I have great doubts about him. Examples must be made.
Finally, I’d urge anyone commenting on media, particularly BBC sites, to attempt to bring this to a wider audience. If at all possible, try to weave it into the topic to give as little excuse for deletion as possible. Which isn’t always easy, as the BBC try to limit discussion on matters they know aren’t popular.
“First they came for Tommy and his kids, and the MSM did not speak,
Then they came for Katie Hopkins’ Twitter feed, and…”
The MSM might want to ponder who speaks for them when plod turns up at their doors about stuff that they have no business meddling with, at the behest of already absolutely corrupted power.
Arch-propagandists that they are the BBC can spot an own goal a mile off, I hope they do report it without any spin but it’s unlikely. The action seems to be a crass, poorly thought out and politically motivated stunt which will only damage the police and garner sympathy for those targeted.
If the powers that be want to get peoples backs up then this is the way to do it.
I also posted this at the tail of the last thread.
It is truly disgusting and very disturbing to watch that video. It is horrible to see how ‘our’ police have become a political force totally divorced from the fine principles in which they started.
I have no connection with Tommy Robinson but I will be going to http://www.westindanger.com to donate some money to Tommy now which he can use to fight this sort of oppression.
It is the fascist leftists we have to thank for this sort of behaviour and that police officer obviously goading Robinson to hit him was clearly one of them. Their religious zeal means they can do their job without needing to think.
Once these people accept their orders without question, even if they are uncomfortable with them, it is not much of a further step for those officers to be leading Tommy and his children off to be gassed.
“It’s just a section 30 gassing order Mate, you’ll be given details on a form”.
“Once these people accept their orders without question, even if they are uncomfortable with them, it is not much of a further step for those officers to be leading Tommy and his children off to be gassed.”
Once I’d have said that was hyperbole, now I’m not so sure. Vichy French police were, after all, quite willing to round up French citizens who happened to be Jews, and hand them over to the Nazis. They were just doing their jobs. So long as the paperwork is in order, and signed by an inspector, I feel no confidence that our current politically correct police would not do just the same.
The police claim they evicted Robinson because, on past evidence, his presence was likely to cause violence. But past evidence shows that the violence (for example at Pegida demonstrations) are always caused by the violent extreme left AFL and such like groups, who are always on hand wherever a Pegida demonstration is held (do the police tip off the ALF when permission is sought for a Pegida demonstration?). In order to stop the violence, the police only have to go after these groups but, no, they refuse to do that. I’m not a supporter of Robinson or Pegida, but I do want to see truth, and fair play, and even-handedness by the police. In Cambridgeshire, we do not have it.
I share both your concern about Mr Robinson and the police’s action in this matter. This sort of intimidation cannot be tolerated and the BBC’s deliberate action in suppressing this story (and similar events that appear to have happened in the past) makes it a co-conspirator.
Pondering further, there is a (honoured by some in the breaking) code between various factions to leave family, and especially young kids out of such pissing contests on a MAD basis.
Not sure the police have set the smartest precedent there.
The Guardian, courtesy of their political reporter, Anushka Asthana, claim that Virgin trains only released the traingate footage in an effort to “embarrass Jeremy Corbyn” and that they broke their own house rules in doing so.
Apparently, some obscure document states that CCTV images will only be shown to the media if crime or safety are at stake.
What a desperate and pathetic attempt by the comrades of the left to defend Corbyn. Everyone has the right to defend themselves when someone slanders their reputation with blatant lies and that was exactly what Corbyn and his team did against Virgin Trains. If the Guardian had a shread of decency they would be calling for the prosecution of Corbyn and his team of liars, not defending them.
I agree, They seem to think that some sort of possible minor infraction of a rule by a rail company is worse than the Leader of the Oppostion being proven to be a liar and a fraud. Only in the mind of a left wing bigot could this possibly make sense.
Reminds me of when ‘Climategate’ broke. The BBC and its media comrades wanted to see the ‘hackers’ brought to justice whilst totally ignoring the abuse of science and the wider scientific community by a small but powerful group of authoritarian scientists.
Every year I recommend that this event is relocated permanently to Hackney and Tower Hamlets, both much more appropriate venues. It is such an obvious move, but the thought seems not to have to occurred to government.
Like It Steve – you see the Wet Dad’s making sure they have ear defenders for little Tarquin or Jerrod to make sure their little ear drums are protected . How about you just don’t take young kids you twats?
Has there ever been a Notting Hill Carnival where somebody was NOT stabbed?
Imagine if it happened at Henley or Ascot. The BBC would go into full attack mode!
Bit sleepy this morning but pretty sure I heard, almost one after the other on Toady R4.
1. An interview with some proponent of African music
2. The usual luvvie liberal claptrap on Thought for the Day
3. Some Lib Dem in lal la land wanting people earning over £40k to carry on getting subsidised housing, when many earning far less have to make do with bed sits.
4. The story about France wanting out of the bilateral passport deal, cue emoting about the Calais Jungle
5. And did I then hear an interview about the Bake Off programme where they managed to cram in a sneering remark about Brexit?
It is just toally unceasing. The bias. The indoctrination. The multiculti. Even on the Bank Holiday.
The bit about Godonnell hosting a programme on how the Civil Service should deal with Brexit made me spit, but Humpty telling the former British ambassador to France that ‘these people are there through no fault of their own’ did my blood pressure no good at all.
‘these people are there through no fault of their own’
Yes, they just stepped through a time portal in Pakistan or Eritrea, and suddenly materialised in Calais thinking they were Syrians. It is an utter mystery how this happened, and they deserve our sympathy. I am sure John Humphrys will be willing to accomodate some of them in his various houses.
And to get from the Med Coast, how many safe places did they cross? It has to be at least three in any direction to end up in Calais. According to the UN Charter on refugees, they must apply for asylum in the first safe Country they enter, we are not that country.
Yes, and constant reminders about how much income this adds to the local economy. The locals must be thrilled. No talk, however, about how this is calculated, or whether they have deducted the cost of providing thousands of dancing cops who are needed to keep the crime rate more or less respectable.
No mention of the cost of cleaning up afterwards, either.
Funny how the BBC didn’t mention this in their article on Colin Kapernick not rising for the American national anthem, nor question his motives or analyse his background, instead choosing to portray it as a feel-good story if opposing tyranny and white racism.
Here’s their article http://m.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-37205032 conspicuously ignoring the fact that Kapernick is a mixed race man raised by a white family which directly contradicts the narrative he’s going for.
I thoroughly enjoy the NFL, its a great sport. The ignorant BBC don’t realise that this is one area of American life which is colour blind. I don’t have statistics but having watched the game for several years I would guess that at least 50% of the players are black and immensely wealthy because of it. Kaepernick is a fool, bitching about racial injustice while becoming a multi millionaire out of an American sport where racial prejudice (on the field at least) is barely recognised.
It’s the same old BBC line, shout load about the narrative, whimper in support and utterly ignore the reality of Kaepernicks position.
The Daily Mail has an article describing a set-up, whereby an actor pretending to be a policeman, tries to force a muslim woman, also an actor, to remove her burkini on a beech in Southend-on-sea. It asks how the public would react to such an event.
We’re told that a dozen people protested…….here’s the picture of those doing the protesting:-
And as the usual suspects are getting worked up about a burkini ban, it’s OK, apparently, for traditional “blackface” Morris dancers to be banned from the Shrewsbury Folk Festival in spite of the fact that it has nothing to do with black people.
Weird how a race can appropriate a colour, when they’re actually brown rather than black. But I suppose they can appropriate brown as well when it suits?
White people, on the other hand, have exclusive rights to bugger all.
See there’s a new pilot comedy on tv tonight, featuring a couple – of differing colour. I have to confess I see more mixed race couples on the box than I do in ‘real life’. Is this subliminal brainwashing ?
Yes, that’s exactly what it is. The BBC does not reflect life as it is in Britain, but life as they want it to be, as imagined from their cosy W1A bubble of left wing wishful thinking.
In this world, black and white intermarry all the time, and muslims are cheerful little chaps like Citizen Khan. The only nasty people are Ukip, and they are planning to take Mr Farage down a peg or two in their new sitcom.
All this can be yours for £145.50 or a prison sentence.
Most mixed race couples spend their entire weekend sofa shopping at DFS according to the TV. Whereas most mixed race couples in my town the coloured father has buggered off to his next family leaving the white woman on her tod with the kids
Lock13 that’s what I thought. I never see mixed race couples together, but I do see many white young women with 1/2/3 mixed race children, ( I was told by someone in the early 70’s that if migration wasn’t controlled we’d end up with a khaki coloured population). Not far wrong.
Over the weekend Andrew Marr wrote an article which was headlined, A migration that is working, about the Poles who live in the UK. He made a good case that these folks are of benefit to the country. But the interesting thing is that his title implies that there are migrations that don’t work.He even mentioned the values that we shared with the Poles. Is this article an indication that this BBC liberal stalwart knows full well that that other major current migration, the Islamic invasion of Europe is not working?. On this site we have known all along that it wouldn’t , indeed that it couldn’t, but it is interesting that a major BBC presenter may also think so. Of course being a good PC lefty and probably also fearing for his job he made no direct reference to the Muslim invasion, only those who have left the BBC feel able to be that honest.
Mr Marr probably missed the irony that the Poles are as rabidly racist as all the other east Europeans. History books tend to gloss over the huge enthusiasm with which they helped facilitate the Final Solution but their 14th Waffen SS Division (1st Galician) – along with those of France, Belgium, Holland, Denmark, Hungary, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania – was very well staffed.
Lord Sainsbury was the largest financial supporter of the WW3 forecasting, the punishment budget threatening, Newspeak practising, group of ineffective, permanently mendacious group of traitors who composed the unsuccessful Remain group.
Lord Sainsbury, soon to be Saint David Sainsbury, according to Pope Alan Johnson writing in the GuardoCatholic Times today.
Saint David, according to the Pope :-
“Sainsbury did not just help his party fight its corner – he put his country first and went the extra mile to keep Britain in Europe. If only everyone in Labour had done as much.”
This, of course, is nonsense. Sainsbury is a traitor, just another champagne socialist, trying to obliterate the UK.
This is also an attack on the elected Leader of the Labour party.
I believe every British patriot who can, should boycott Sainsbury stores. The boycott should be extended to the many other treasonous companies.
Does a blacklist of treasonous commercial organisations already exist? If so, I wish to know about it.
If it does not exist I believe we need one and this site is the best place I know of to be the home of the black list.
TruthSeeker, I agree wholeheartedly about the ‘Black List’ but caution over a little know area of law known as, ‘Tortious Interference with a Subsisting Contract’. See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tortious_interference
“… he put his country first and went the extra mile to keep Britain in Europe.”
Does not compute. Does not compute. Does not compute. Does not compute. Does not compute. Does not compute. Does not compute. Does not compute. Does not compute. Does not compute. Does not compute. Does not compute.
Reminds me of Red Dwarf Series IV ‘Justice’ where the simulant can’t comprehend the Justice Field and its reverse effects.
We had curtailed our shopping in Sainsburys before the recently revelations about Lord Sainsbury, basically because the store is now 25% owned by Qatar Holdings.
Also remember Sainsburys now owns Argos.
We now shop in Lidl, Ok not so much choice, but one can save as much as 25% without suffering a drop in quality, anyone who hasn’t shopped there should try, or indeed Aldi.
Thinking of subversion*, I understood the PM’s Equality Review was to be wide and far ranging. Over the weekend and especially this morning, the BBC on Radio 4 appear to be turning it into a racial, a BAME, thing.
Are the BBC deliberately trying to subvert it?
(* I see I’ve used the word in one of my posts above. Must be wedged in my subconscious or something. I blame the Labour Party Leadership.)
So let me get this right it is ok for Policemen / women to engage in simulating sex acts on the London streets (twerking). But it is an offence to take your kids to a bar , after a football match, in Cambridge to have a quiet drink and watch Man Utd on the TV.
#bbcPetIssueBingo Fail at 4.30am on R5 ..it was just the news and the sport so I had to wait a whole 5 mins for #bbcPetIssues to start.
4:35 The podcast recommendation segment
#1 The Slate anti-Trump daily pod cast..Doton and guy thought the bad impersonator of Trump was great
#2 Podcast by David Axelrod the guy who planned Obama’s election. They chose to play the segment where he interviewed Jon Stewart slagging off Trump
Do you see a pattern ?
#3 James O’Brien the LBC left wing shockjock, who tries to be a lefty Katie Hopkins
#4 Economist podcast : They didn’t play an anti Trump bit just the BBC’s Anne McKelvoy sounding pretty lefty.
The podcast advisor was Pete Naughton surprisingly of the Daily Telegraph
…Telegraph has gone downhill, yet I noticed they haven’t published Naughton since June.
To the BBC a kid in Calais is worth, one thousand in Rotherham, or 10,000 in Africa ?
Later on switched on R4Today and John Humphrys was bleating about poor little children in The Jungle in Calais .. and how we could bring them here.
What is the name for this kind of fallacy ?
Cos yes if you had a £billion then you could help THOSE children, then what ? Is all OK with the world ?
#1 Won’t Calais fill up with new kids ?
#2 With terrorism, oppressive religious dogma, corruption, general lawbreaking and health care failures ..across the world …then magnitudes more children suffer EVERYDAY across the world.
– It isn’t only those cute child photos the media pushes at us like the Syrian bomb boy, Syrian beach boy etc.
It’s :
– the deaths/suffering from diseases like EBOLA
– The girls seized by Boko Haram
– The African kids whose parents have died from AIDS
– Daughters who are kept locked up outside daylight cos of religious oppression.
– Kids suffering cos of corruption in Russia
– Kids whose parents are suffering due to parents being drug/alcohol addicts
– Kids who the care system is failing.
– AND Kids abused by recent immigrants to the UK in places like Rotherham.
(BTW Why are we allowing the French gov to EMOTIONALLY BLACKMAIL the UK ?
Illegals in France are Frances responsibility not the UK’s
Surely when the UK takes kids out of Calais, that sends a “doors open” message so providing a pull factor, thus more families pay more bribes to get their kids in, so the original Calais kids beds are refilled by new ones.)
The BBC Focus on Pet issues but not on others, and guilty of context crime
Focussing on the one pixel of Calais instead of the big picture of all world’s suffering kids.
(Again what is the name for this fallacy ?)
12:58 R4 Trailer for Syrian Refugee’s story 2 part prog
4pm Wed :Yusra: Swim for Your Life
1/2 The courageous journey of refugee Yusra Mardini from war-torn Syria to the Rio Olympics.
“During the crossing from Turkey to Lesbos, Yusra and her sister helped to save their fellow passengers when the engine of their crammed dinghy stopped working. Swimming together they dragged the boat to safety. The sisters then made their way across Europe, evading capture by the authorities, travelling through Greece, Serbia and Hungary to get to Germany. It was there that Yusra was selected as one of the ten athletes to form the refugee Olympic team to compete as a swimmer in Rio.”
OK she is a child it was not her choice to leave the safety of Turkey..but the BBC crime is here that we don’t seem to have documentaries championing Rotheram victims or UK terror victim kids. #LyingByOmission makes it sound like that BBC management’s motto is “Islam uber alles”
If France doesn’t want all these people swarming around Calais, there’s a simple solution that John Humphrys inexplicably failed to suggest in his interview.
STOP LETTING THEM IN, YOU DOZY FRENCH BAGUETTES.
But that might have begged too many other questions.
Hasn`t Evan Davis got a house there in Normandie?
And isn`t he here, being a little shaft of sunshine on Newsblight?
So his house is Unoccupied?
And don`t we love Occupy still?
All round to Evans place-no acid in the lube tube guaranteed…he `s used it all up on Brexit.
So I’ve just had a look at the bBC africa news web site, where the top story/article/link is the one about how a bunch of black girls are protesting about how PRETORIA HIGH SCHOOL FOR GIRLS is a racist institution for making a black girl conform to the schools uniform policy:
You send your children to School in which to ensure that their lives are better than yours, all I see from the liberal elites is, it is far better to have blacks living in poverty and thus blame it all on whites, than allow them to build a future for themselves.
The fact that South Africa has been run by a Black party for around 26 years hasn’t been recognised by the bBC yet. Instead they promote this view that Blacks can only be victims of the whiteman. If that is so, why don’t they push for a land where only blacks can live, Whites will be banned and they can all live in harmony for the rest of their naturals.
Nice little continuity failure last night from the National Broadcaster. A plug for a feature on the Coastal Defence Force, using archive film of MTBs, MGBs, Air/Sea Rescue etc, included a brief clip of a German E-Boat, would you believe? Well yes, you would. Not only are the current crop of back-room staff unlikely to know the difference, the way they have been taught WW2 history makes such detail unimportant.
To illustrate the success of our MTBs at sinking enemy shipping, they also used the famous footage of HMS Barham rolling over and then exploding in the Mediterranean. Still, only about 800 British sailors killed there, so it’s a mistake anyone could make.
Rob, almost as bad as trampling on War Graves! But hey, that’s the BBC: completely disrespectful of history, democracy and the Brits and their lives in general.
The BBCs Scalectrix stories can leave you in a spin.
No sooner had Brexit been blamed for the US and Eu failing to get a “TTIP Deal”-no me neither, but know the Tolpuddle Lefties were up in arms over it-so much be good!-than the BBC News leads now with Calais mayor wanting the jungle bennies sent over HERE to be processed.
Who knew that French local town hall missives could be freshly announced as holy writ within a few hours of a BBC “Open Borders” traitor getting his French dictionary out, and telling us what Sarkozy demands in this, the coming election year ?(that`s a clue BBC scummards).
Bloody big pile up of cars along the back strait as all these non-stories bleed into one piece of Clinton Cards crap…and still , we react.
The day will come when we won`t-but we really need our BBC Foreign Affairs staff to be based in the Jungle before I take a word of theirs as writ…
The poor folk of Calais deserve better-as do we who pay for the BBC to suck for souks in each and every case.
Here’s the BBC conducting a respectful and balanced interview with Nigel Farage. No, not really, I’m only joking. I have just entered the three key words BBC+Nigel+Farage into my search engine of choice to see what their post-Jackson interview was like. But, of course there is no such interview. Nigel is Public Enemy Number 1 for all bien-pensants in the UK and as such can be afforded no publicity except for sneers and smears by our liberal MSM. So it’s to Fox News I must go.
Another hand-wringing report on the Beeb from Oirish reporter Chris Butler, focusing on lone ‘children’ arriving in Italy. My idea of ‘children’ is generally toddlers and juniors under 12 years old. Yet those being interviewed appear to be teenagers who should be quite capable to look after themselves – or at least they do when images are shown of them armed to the teeth with rifles and machine guns.
Seconded Mr Sentry!
Thank you Mr Golightly and ALL of you who watch this REAL “news and analysis” from all corners of the globe for the rest of us.
AND being gracious enough to post and share, so the rest of us can compare the liberal lefts lies with what REAL people know and care about.
Nigel in fine form as ever…will he ever stand still enough so we can get that statue up on the A19..A1, M5, M20)?…..
PLEASE keep then coming-and when we salami slice that £145.50 into segments for the likes of THIS site..after all, Mr G deserves an editors fee does he not, Mr V a hosting supplement?…we can allocate the money up to YOU and not the fupping BBC.
Payment by screen grabs watched…not compulsory funds for peados and devious deviants, druggies and grievance farmers.
Most welcome DS and chrisH. I shall continue to keep my eyes peeled. No fees required, in fact if they were I would prefer chrisH to receive them, for stamina, originality and the often surreal humour which entertains me on a daily basis. Though I confess to having to re-read some of chrisH’s posts several times in order to grasp the full meaning, they are a Magical Mystery Tour of our times.
Most kind Mr G…usually end up confusing myself if that`s any consolation.
Remember some comic used to have a cartoon of “Edward and the Jumblies”…the UKIP ones seem happiest to come out of my ears and play today.
The noble BBC wants we ignorant, racist, uneducated, haters to take doctors, surgeons and engineers in from the Calais camps. We are tear jerkingly informed of how they are escaping misery, war and hunger.
Now, oddly, when ever I have been in France I have found it to be peaceful, friendly, indeed, i have found it to be war and pestilence free. And hunger is not a factor for a country with more cafes than anywhere else in the Solar System.
The worst a visitor to France might encounter is a slightly chipper, rude Parisian, but when they get to know you, they are then warm hearted friends for life. Oh and French men socks in the sleeper trains to the south are a chemical weapon in the right hands.
Can someone explain the France mentioned in BBC reports, I don’t recognize it.
BBC manufacturing News not just reporting it.
“Bank holiday shopper footfall ‘down 4%’”
Strange thing about that title is it was posted on Monday MORNING, before the shops had opened.
..The actual text makes it clear they are talking about Saturday and Sunday
Diane James put in an assured performance for UKIP when given the Mishal Husain bad puri on a bap last week on Today.
Hardly Stephen Woolf-but let`s give her a go eh?
She“s already got the Mail fishing round the knicker drawer…so she MUST bother them.
Why this topic? Because I`m sick of unelected grandees like Lord this, Baroness that and Doctor Who splattering and spluttering over Article 50.
To quote Michael Goyve “we`ve had enough of experts”-particularly unelected nobodies like Wheatcroft, Butler, Heseltine etc.
We also despise weasly lawyers who have suddenly discovered a Belarus mutant of “Parliamentary scrutiny”-this after over 40 years of EU steamrollers that they ushered in to crush the little plebs like us.
And-the third band ARE elected, so deserve houseroom-but are politically insignificant and supremely irrelevant to us-either cult hobbyists like Sturgeon or Lucas…or kite flying to remind us that their pathetic rumps of camp followers need a Twirchfork up their fundaments to see if they`re still alive.
This crap shower would include Lammy, Farron and Oily Olly Smith of Pontypridd.
So-next time you hear or see some Remainiakka nakka tell us that Mishcon Del Reya or Durham Unis political nomark wants us to be forced to stay-and get an EU bung in return , naturally-remember
a) who voted for you?
b) what makes YOU an expert-and who pays YOUR wages?
c)and how many REAL people voted for you, as opposed to fiddled postal votes-and how`s your LibLab Party stuff been going since we stuck two fingers up to you last May?
Out of the EU , January 2017…no turning back…ad leave the corkscrew to rust in their black hearts-can we get tickets yet to funerals for Ming, Hezza or Prezza yet?
It`s what Jo Cox wants-her hot and fetid breath whispers ” Brexit” as I write.
This is the Nasty Party…hi Graham!
Just listening to the afternoon propaganda play about the author Anthony Trollope’s visit to Jamaica in 1858. Leaving aside the portrayal of Jamaicans as intelligent, respectable and good people, the drama had steel drum music played between each scene. As all BBC readers know, steel drums were not used as musical instruments until the 1930s. It’s not like Aunty to get the facts wrong and slip inaccuracies into it’s broadcasts, that would be distorting the facts. Don’t let it happen again!
I forced myself to listen for as long as I could Mustapha, which was 15 minutes. This slot now is filled with BME actors and virtue signalling as a theme. I’d love to know the listening figures, same applies to the 6.30pm ‘comedy’ slots.
I gave up on these afternoon plays a while ago but I do listen to a few minutes, from time to time, just to have my prejudices confirmed about the over-representation of BME actors and ‘ethnic’ issues.
As I’ve said before here, once upon a time I would pre-select R4 afternoon plays and stockpile them to listen to on long car journeys.
Over the years the number that were worth recording has dwindled to such an extent that I doubt if I can find three or four a year worth saving – and I have pretty broad tastes. Sadly, those tastes do not run to the elevation of BMEs to the godhead, nor the worst sort of ‘women’s issues’ dramas, to which no woman with half a brain would give a moment’s attention.
I’d spotted the Trollope play and worked out that it was likely to be yet more of the same. It seems I was right.
The death of drama and comedy on R4 is a useful measure of the decay of the entire Corporation.
Also Thursday play’s central character was a philandering Jamaican immigrant facing deportation unless he married again, his girlfriend seemed to be a teenager. Despite her angry father, she loved him and married him.
Those interested in any action to prevent the UK population reaching 70 Million as a direct result of immigration, might be interested in this Report:
file:///C:/GW%20to%2029.08.16/Islam%20&%20Immigration/Immigration%20generally/’70%20million%20debate’%20-%20Oxford%20Uni%20for%20Migration%20Observatory%2006.09.12.pdf
Admittedly, published in 2012, it might at first seem dated but quite the opposite. It speculates on the likelihood in the Government keeping the UK to <70 Million EVEN if it reduces the influx to the magical, "tens of thousands". The Report suggests that, "Consequently, (to achieve) a population limit of 70 million would imply major additional policy changes." (Page 3). So, the possibility of achieving <70 Million is slipping away, year on year that the Government dither and do not fulfil their promise. What "major additional policy changes"? I can only conclude the, 'Shipping em' back' is all that's left. This ignores the Bird & Fortune sketch (in Rory Bremner) of the Government considering administering cyanide crystals through the roof's of Bingo Halls……………
Importantly, The Report concludes that on current trend, the UK will reach 70 Million by 2027. That's ELEVEN years away. Moreover, by 2066 the UK will have a non-white majority: http://newobserveronline.com/brexit-irrelevant-britains-future-2/
Ponder on that if you will.
One of the main items on the Beeb News at lunchtime today ‘Beyonce dominates MTV VMAs’ whatever that means.
The NATIONAL news FFS!
Seemed to go on for ages, but perhaps that’s because I’m neither under the age of 35 or gay.
I came over all middle-aged and blokey so went out and mowed my lawn – so some good came of it.
Sir Mohammed Farah of Moghadishu (Britain’s greatest ever sportsman) gold medal in the egg and spoon and his brother the petty criminal from Pekham. Come to think of it what has happened to Britain’s greatest ever Broadcaster Dame Clare of Balding .Probably out baby shopping with her new wife
Yes, according to reports the Farah brothers do not speak. Well, with a convict in the family it could have scuppered bruvver Mo’s chances of training and permanent residency in the States ! Convict Farah is in fear of being deported back to Somalia because his tattoos will be objected to ! (C’mon Richard Littlejohn, this needs your input! )
Beltane August 29, 2016 at 4:05 pm
Sorry Spinner, the simple act of mo’ing the lawn identifies you irrevocably with the UK’s favourite sportsman. Go to jail, do not pass go.
B-b-b-but I promise I didn’t do that heart thing with my arms when I finished (ain’t ya just sick of that?). Do I still have to go?
Do you know I believe I can take some real pride in the fact that I never made the ‘heart’ connection. I always thought he was just drawing attention to himself.
Interesting take on the Birkini…taken from http://www.algemeiner.com/2016/08/28/the-law-of-the-land-is-the-law-say-french-jewish-leaders-defending-controversial-burkini-ban/
The French parliamentarian Meir Habib, former head of the Jewish umbrella organization CRIF told Makor Rishon that he, too, supports the burkini ban. “During 2,000 years of exile, it has been clear to Jews: ‘Dina d’malchuta dina’ [Aramaic for “THE LAW OF THE LAND IS THE LAW”.
Jews have to abide by local laws, except in cases of incest, bloodshed and idol worship.
Habib said he believes the burkini is a “cultural-political garment,” and that he wouldn’t have a problem with it, if not for the fact that “Muslims do not accept our laws. They want to change French legislation. France has 6-8 million Muslims who are becoming increasingly radical. We have to protect the republic.”
Did wonder though.
If an Orthodox rabbinical group DID defend the burkini as being “modest”-then surely all the outraged mullahs would be insisting that their girls wore thongs and bikinis-if only to spite the Jews!
Worth a go, I`d have thought-is Father Abraham and his smurf church still around to issue a ruling.
Until then-hope Notting Hills carnival had a few KKK robes today.
Apparently it `s anybodys right to wear what they like, no matter HOW offensive it might be to others…have the Left thought this whole thing out?
Course not-being a Lefty means you never have to, stuff tumbleweed in your ears and you`re good to go…
An interesting post on the Mail story of a set up where a pretend Policeman attempts to force a woman to remove her headscarf on a beach.
All the outraged onlookers are efniks although apparently not Muslims.
One of the comments posed a different experiment though. A beach of Muslims, and one of them in a bikini with a Muslim cleric coming along and scolding her rudely for failing to cover up. Wonder how many people would then get involved telling him he was wrong?
I was waiting for someone in Are You Being Served? to explain that “pussy” was a child’s name for a cat.
Smut, as Max Miller explained, is supposed to be in the minds of the audience while the performer(s) feign innocence. Still I expect we should be glad that the obligatory ‘S’ and ‘F’ four-letter words were absent.
(Pity about the authentic telephones that should have been ‘ivory’ but had yellowed with age – the ‘giveaway’ is that originally all the parts, dial rims, handsets etc, were made to be the same shade!).
JimS, you’re a better man than me. I couldn’t bear to watch a remake of my beloved AYBS. I’ve often thought that Millers’ type of smut (ie, ‘self cleaning’ jokes whose rudeness is entirely subjective) seems to be disliked by many modern leftists, who prefer to rub their audiences faces in deliberate, explicit coarseness as part of their assault on traditional values of decency. ‘Epater les bourgeoises’ as the French say.
I turned on Radio 4 to catch a bit of news as part of the “PM” show (from 17:00, but I didn’t tune in until around 17:16). Wish I hadn’t!
There was the end of an item about a (possibly false) claim of abduction involving a transit van and someone arrested for perverting the course of justice. Then it was bash Trump, from the key swing state of Ohio, with a Republican who simply couldn’t vote for him, a Democrat who was going for Hillary, various Trump quotes intended to blacken his name, claims that Dem’s with reservations were still more likely to support Clinton than Rep’s were to vote for Trump, news of bad polling figures for Trump in Ohio, Dem’ propaganda material about Trump hating Muslims, women and the US Armed Forces (!). Nowhere to be heard were any quotes or anything of any substance from Hillary, who seems to have become an interview-free and fact-free zone for the biased BBC. It was a case of “Trump is bad, vote for Hillary (even if we don’t know or care what her policies are)”.
PM often features NewsVerts monstering Trump
..They basically said you ‘In the past the candidate who won Ohio always became president and we think Ohio will vote Hillary !’ ..There was no opposing voice to ask the BBC voice about their recent reputation for predicting things WRONGLY… ScotRef, Election, and Brexit etc.
No description of the attacker has been provided anywhere, as far as I can see, in spite of the fact that other details of the attack are available. However, the BBC reports this:
“Police said they wanted to speak to four white women who Mr Dearlove and his friends were speaking to at around the time the attack took place.”
White women huh? However, it omits this (from the Evening Standard):
“”I don’t think there was an altercation. I think someone said to him and his friends ‘what are you looking at’ and that was it. I think he stopped breathing when he hit the floor” …… Today police launched a murder investigation and said they were hoping to speak to a group of up to four women who Mr Dearlove is thought to have spoken to around the time of the assault. Officers stressed they were being sought as witnesses not suspects.”
It appears that he was killed by what is commonly known as a “sucker punch”, which I believe is more popular in some cultures than others. We’ll see.
Now, oddly, the normally environmentalist inclined BBC don’t have this covered on their news web site.
Now why can this be? Surely not because the butterfly experts are saying that one of the reasons for the butterfly decline is …
“The cool spring and slow start to summer appear to have taken a toll on their attempts to breed and feed.”
Cool spring? Slow start to summer? Isn’t this the ‘hottest year ever’. Can Guardian readers remove their tin foil hats now? Can BBC producers finally relax and allow us to enjoy the brief warm spells?
This bbc diversity project doesn’t apply to Asian restaurant’s I make a mean curry but we must import our chef’s and waiters from the sub continent who then settle and increase are diversity in population. They also increase population by wives from the sub continent. Loopholes galore. Caught red handed game set and match answers on a postcard.
For some reason the leftie Home Office have these chefs as part of a program where they are able to work in the UK for a period of time but must then leave at the end of that time. The money they earn is supposed to assist them in their lives in their home countries.
Of course being mainly Pakistani the corruption is rife with these positions being paid for in Pakistan, and minimum wages paid with rent and other deductions made. Often accommodation is in the restaurant itself.
I’ve always suspected this Thoughtful. Many Indian dishes are made specifically for the British palate – I’ve lived in India and the food is rather different there – so the idea that Indian restaurants have to have Indian/Bangladeshi/Pakistani cooks is nonsense. What they mean is they want cheap labour and to provide favours for relatives/friends/gangmasters back ‘home’. Of course, don’t expect the BBC to investigate that angle!
BBC1 News at 18:30 gave the briefest possible coverage to the top story of the day, i.e. the Turks turning their fire on the USA’s agents in Syria (the Kurds). Why? Another Obama SNAFU? BBC support for Erdogan? No barrel bombs involved?
Well of course….Al Beeb had better things to whine about such as the upstanding and much sought after migrants in Calais, and the evil Tory government getting tough on innocent and much loved pikeys and their thieving filthy way of life..
Its got the works: a pinch of empire guilt, plenty of doctors and lawyers who want to come and study at cambridge no less, and even a historian (photo’d) who is aware of the UKs history, a smidgeon of froggy banging for being so unwelcoming, and they even all speak English in the camp, wow! Quick Theresa let them all in we can’t have these wonderful people simply waiting at the gates, are you mad?
But hold on didn’t Breitbart film them chanting, F*** the UK a little while back. Beeb, I’m confused can you please help me with this one cause the ones you found look lovely, I might even be happy to give up my own passport for these clearly superior beings.
This Calais story they`res till running on the BBC and ITV.
They seem now to be implying that their fussing-and that of Sarkozy and assorted Calais councillors-has forced Amber Rudd to get over to Paris.
Clearly the media think there THAT important.
“Although the topic has not been scheduled, our sources in France say”…that kind of mindless massage to paint themselves as SJW.
Just a few points
1. What has changed in the Le Touquet agreement as signed off by both Britain and France, except for Brexit and a chance to wind us all up
2. How does Sarkozy get a berth-this clown sat through the banlieu riots of 2005,let Ilam Halimi get butchered by the Paris “Barbarians”-and is largely responsible for sowing the seeds of what France now lives with.
3. Does Sarkozy have an election coming-and might this be related by his recent blowhard BS?
4. Where`s the Dublins Agreement in all this-and why are so many Somali/IS “children” penned there along the French coast..and how come they`re able to terrorise, threaten abd attack at will?
IN other words-any chance of some BACKGROUND you liberal weasels in the media-or would you rather we just let your pals in to do to us what they`ve been doing in Nice, Rouen, Paris, Toulouse, Grenoble yada yada…
Fuck off traitors at the BBC…and stop snivelling round looking for Somali assassins to import for the rest of us to deal with.
And why don’t our broadcast media ponder why there are not jungle camps at airports throughout Europe/world? A. Because carriers will not give passage to those without approval to enter the UK. The same would apply to ferry & tunnel operators irrespective of whether France welches on the treaty.
The main questions that should be asked about the Jungle are:
Where do these people come from?
How did they get into Europe in the first place?
If they are claiming asylum why do they want to come to Britain instead of remaining in France?
What do the locals think of their guests?
What do lorry drivers think about them?
EVERY SINGLE report from the BBC at Calais should be asking these questions automatically – instead of emotive nonsense, Songs of Praise services and luvvy actors wandering around.
Ticking all the multi culti boxes, today we had a feature on lunchtime news about planning laws negatively affecting ‘travellers’ ie making it harder to camp anywhere you like. Cue soft focus misty eyed pictures of the Traveller way of life as shown by Appelby Horse Fair. Horses in the river. Kids on bareback horses. Old wooden caravans nicely painted. All together. Aahhhhh.
Funny thing is, not a single local was interviewed. I wonder why?
In 1978, on the way to Dylan playing at Blackbushe, I stopped off in Stow on the Wold. All the pubs and shps were closed. The reason? The ‘traditional’ annual Horse Fair. And the need to safeguard property. As shown by….errr….the locals.
The biased BBC. No ‘minority’ is too small not to be favoured at the expense of the majority.
Agree ChrisH – the BBC and their SJW virtue signalling is down right dangerous to British citizens.
They were doing a documentary on 4 “Syrian” asylum seeker children fresh to the UK when they were arrested for “raping” a 14 year old girl in Newcastle. The Beeb cancelled the documentary which is surprising as surely they could have put it through the propaganda machine and the RoP kids could be shown as the victims. Thought that was company policy isn’t it?
The bias is there, maybe not all the time but ready to pop up at any time:
(1) “Just a Minute” on Radio 4 from 18:30. Near the end, Marcus Brigstocke was being asked to talk about ‘The Great Wall of China’. He joked that Trump probably built it, to keep Mexicans out of America, because Trump didn’t know anything about geography, or anything else (cue laughs from Lefty audience in Scotland). Yawn!!! No jokes about Hillary, of course, unless I dozed off during them …
(2) “The Archers” from 19:03. Ace feminist lawyer and ‘diva ex machina’ Anna Tregorran (tasked with defending the hapless and stab-happy ‘Hellin’ Titchener – good luck with that one!) has demons of her own to fight, e.g. feelings of professional inadequacy over her legal brief and anguish over the break-up of a relationship with a certain Max, about which she is clearly upset. So Anna turns down a chance of an evening with her practising witch mother Carole at the local open-air opera, and instead stalks Max, waiting outside the front door in her car.
Then all is revealed … and Mustapha and countless other listeners are exposed for the homophobic hetero-binary-normative bigots that we are (perdona me Domine!) Max IS A WOMAN!!! Anna T’s ex IS ANOTHER WOMAN!!! And there was me expecting a man; if the pronoun ‘she’ was ever used about Max (= Maxine) than I must have missed it, though I listen regularly (mea maxima culpa Domine!)
So thank you BBC. I will be reporting to Room 101 for further re-education, you won’t even need to drag me there! I fell into the trap, carefully laid, like Winston in “1984” and betrayed myself as an old-thinker by assuming that Max must be a man. Please punish me for this and cleanse my mind of all crime-think.
MSal-beebi, The problem for the less enlightened viewer/listener to the BBC is that the whole fabric of the BBC broadcasting is interwoven with bias. It is the constant subtle massaging of all breaking news to fit the BBC’s agenda. Compared to RT, RT is demarcated in its all too obvious propaganda broadcasts which, for me is surprising since Putin does an excellent job regularly of, ‘pulling the wool over the West’s eyes’. Perhaps Putin ought to take a personal look at RT and model it on the BBC?
BBC drama can always be relied confirm the ‘right’ way of thinking. Cigarettes, alcohol, sugar etc are demormalised. Religion is okay in moderation. Lukewarm Christians and Muslims are good, provided they don’t object to gay relationships which are portrayed as commonplace. Pubs are okay provided drinking is in moderation and they are child friendly. Gregs and Macdonald’s are bad, curry houses are good. 20 mile per hour zones for pedestrian safety are good because drivers should not enjoy driving and should be using public transport; denormalise driving and have roads car free pedestrian and cycle zones.
Drama is bland and uninteresting. There are no colourful characters. I imagine there is an invisible tick-box that scriptwriters adhere to when scripts are submitted.
The bBBC are, in true statist fashion, bigging up the claims of the BMA for 15 minute patient appointments, in other words, a lot less work for the same money.
Funny thing is, only three years ago the very same bBBC and BMA were trumpeting the abolition of the fixed time appointment. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-24959626
I guess they think we have short memories. Well, they are certainly right to think most of the public are so gullible they will swallow anything.
Proof of course that so many of these issues are purely political and more about power and control by the elite doctors and especially the BMA than actual cost effective patient care. The great irony of course was that the BMA negotiator is actually quoted as welcoming the change, back in 2013.
sluff,
Agreed. The BMA is a typical public sector union only it is more powerful than most . It disgracefully uses the public’s concern over health to demand ever more for doctors, whose greed is exceptional even by the standards of the public sector. The BBC is ever ready to help out fellow members of the liberal elite.
I truly despise the BBC’s pathetic, simplistic, biased reporting but your attack on Doctors on the back of the BBC reporting of a BMA report is undeserved. Of course the BBC has a socialist agenda (everything free for everyone with a few at the top paying). But to suggest Doctors are shit because they’re in the public sector is ridiculous.
I’ve worked in private sector (specifically Chemical manufacturing) for 30+ years and believe me, I still come across just as many lazy incompetents there as I do at the local council. (especially the Social Work Department). The private sector is not by any means perfect.
The main issue is simply weak and/or bad managers. They’re everywhere, but few seem to be able to accept this or deal with it effectively in both private and public sectors
Regarding greedy Doctors… They typically represent the top 5% in terms of ability/ intelligence in society. Sure there are parasitic incompetent chancers that play the system and cream off huge amounts of money (usually run care homes) but the majority are basically incredibly dedicated small businessmen that are hugely overworked to the point of abuse by the bureaucrats (usually bad managers) working for the government.
Let’s stick to hitting those complete wankers at the BBC! They deserve it.
Doctors should be striking about the p-poor quality of their managers rather than keeping quiet and hoping for a bit of back-scratching from their bosses.

“”If we organise Brexit in the wrong way, then we’ll be in deep trouble, so now we need to make sure that we don’t allow Britain to keep the nice things, so to speak, related to Europe while taking no responsibility.””

On message for the BBC. And why doesn’t the BBC ask ‘what are the nice things that Britain would be allowed to keep’? I can’t think of any.
Biased Broadcasting Corporation in action. Get over it BBC. Your favoured team lost.

“I wouldn’t normally post something as off-topic as this, but it goes, in my opinion, to the heart of the problem of the BBC and its protection of certain minorities at any cost.
http://www.breitbart.com/london/2016/08/28/watch-pegida-uk-leader-tommy-robinson-harrased-police-watching-football-three-young-chilren/

Likely on loan from that special squad the police provide if TVL salesmen need a bit of back up.
From the expressions one has to wonder if some love their job too much, and others if they are in the one the signed up for.

“Cambridgeshire Police and the Cambridgeshire Police and Crime Commissioner’s office were both approached for comments but have not responded.”
Nice to be able to opt that way, as power not accountable or, in the BBC’s case, being held to account.
Maybe, at least, an anonymous spokesperson to claim they believe they got it about right?

Deborah – BBC and stupidity – surely not.

Most prime time documentaries and ‘magazine’ style programmes are little better than Blue Peter standard circa 1963. BBC4 is the main exception.

If France doesn’t want all these people swarming around Calais, there’s a simple solution that John Humphrys inexplicably failed to suggest in his interview.
STOP LETTING THEM IN, YOU DOZY FRENCH BAGUETTES.
But that might have begged too many other questions.

So I’ve just had a look at the bBC africa news web site, where the top story/article/link is the one about how a bunch of black girls are protesting about how PRETORIA HIGH SCHOOL FOR GIRLS is a racist institution for making a black girl conform to the schools uniform policy:
South African school faces backlash over ‘racist hair rule’

And-the third band ARE elected, so deserve houseroom-but are politically insignificant and supremely irrelevant to us-either cult hobbyists like Sturgeon or Lucas…or kite flying to remind us that their pathetic rumps of camp followers need a Twirchfork up their fundaments to see if they`re still alive.

a) who voted for you?
b) what makes YOU an expert-and who pays YOUR wages?
c)and how many REAL people voted for you, as opposed to fiddled postal votes-and how`s your LibLab Party stuff been going since we stuck two fingers up to you last May?
Out of the EU , January 2017…no turning back…ad leave the corkscrew to rust in their black hearts-can we get tickets yet to funerals for Ming, Hezza or Prezza yet?

Moreover, by 2066 the UK will have a non-white majority:
http://newobserveronline.com/brexit-irrelevant-britains-future-2/
Ponder on that if you will.

Oliver Dearlove named as Blackheath murder victim
We’ll see.

Now why can this be? Surely not because the butterfly experts are saying that one of the reasons for the butterfly decline is …
“The cool spring and slow start to summer appear to have taken a toll on their attempts to breed and feed.”

Too much money is being wasted in the NHS on too many parasites like this.

Doctors should be striking about the p-poor quality of their managers rather than keeping quiet and hoping for a bit of back-scratching from their bosses.
