OPENING UP YOUR VOICE…

I’m going to be on holidays from Monday 28th Nov returning Thursday 8th December and that means no blogging! However, I have set up all the necessary Open Threads which I know you all engage with very well. I would like to also invite those of you who want to open up on a particular issue to put together a short post on it and send it to the site contact email and I will ensure these get published for you. All you need do is advise if you want attribution or not and hey bingo, you’re in print and helping to keep the site rocking and rolling whilst I …erm…sunbathe!

We may have something to post , but being amateurs we need someone to abridge or correct our words to make the posts intereresting or sometimes readable .
Although if they are altered in any way this must be pointed out to the viewers , so that this blog is unlike the BBC .

Can someone analyse or help to organise an analysis of the “BBC 100 Women 2016”
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-38012048

Maybe an A level or Bachelors or Masters student in media studies or related could analyse it as a project work. Or maybe if we have a retired teacher or analyst. Maybe an analysis would reveal concrete evidence of BBC bias … or vindicate the BBC of bias in their selection of their women of 2016. Is the BBC’s selection consistent with female demographics of ethnicity, colour, sexuality, religious beliefs, political beliefs, education, nationality, wealth, occupation etc.

Does the BBC have a 2015 list, a 2014 list that could be analysed etc.

Ps: can we have an open section where people can suggest project ideas such as this for students and retired people with some time on their hands. Maybe it could be put under a research or research ideas section adjacent to the Archives section. What do others think – Good idea or bad idea?

Nick Abbott (what a bitter man he is, while pretending to be amused) more tedious ranting against Brexit voters, ageism, class hate, anti British racist stereotyping, not to mention patronising stereotyping of foreigners.
