Brexit means Brexit….and it’s the Peoples’ decision

“The British people will have the final and decisive say. “

The Minister for Europe, David Lidington, and Minister for Constitutional Reform, John Penrose December 2015

In the referendum debate in June 2015 Phillip Hammond said this…

Few subjects ignite as much passion in the House or indeed in the country as our membership of the European Union. The debate in the run-up to the referendum will be hard fought on both sides of the argument. But whether we favour Britain being in or out, we surely should all be able to agree on the simple principle that the decision about our membership should be taken by the British people, not by Whitehall bureaucrats, certainly not by Brussels Eurocrats; not even by Government Ministers or parliamentarians in this Chamber. The decision must be for the common sense of the British people. That is what we pledged, and that is what we have a mandate to deliver. For too long, the people of Britain have been denied their say. For too long, powers have been handed to Brussels over their heads. For too long, their voice on Europe has not been heard. This Bill puts that right. It delivers the simple in/out referendum that we promised, and I commend it to the House.

Quite clear…he thinks the decision to leave the EU is for the British public….not ministers, bureaucrats and not even Parliament.

Hilary Benn must agree judging by his words…

This Bill will set before the British people a clear and simple question: should the United Kingdom remain a member of the European Union? It is 11 words, but the answer will have profound consequences for the future of our country, as the people of the United Kingdom make the most important decision on our place in the world for 40 years…..uncertainty about Britain’s place in Europe is not good for the British economy, so we should get on and make this decision so that the British people can have their say, and I hope they will reach a decision to remain in the European Union.

We want a debate and for everybody to participate, and we want the British people to make that judgment.

Benn though points out Labour’s true position…

We support the Bill and its passage through Parliament, but we also support Britain remaining a member of the EU.

So when they now say they respect the outcome of the referendum they don’t really mean it.

Benn makes a point in 2015 that undermines the BBC et al’s current narrative about the voters not knowing what they were voting for…

My view is that the question is perfectly clear and very simple. I do not think that anyone who goes into the polling station on the day, whenever it is, will not understand the consequence of voting either way.

Referendums are now redundant. The elite have shown that only they will decide.

A huge chunk of democracy has been destroyed. I will not vote in a referendum again. It’s a waste of time to do so.

The only choice is UKIP. I really hate and detest the Conservatives now. And I used to vote for them.

Socialist organisation such as the EU, like the USSR before it, only accept the will of the people when the people are doing as they are ordered.

When the public decide they will not do as ordered and vote against what has been decided by the Socialist Elite is best for them then some method will be found to overturn the decision of the people and the Socialist Elite will then simply ride roughshod over them and continue on their own desired course regardless.

This is how the EU and it’s acolytes have relentlessly done for the last forty years.

The British people have been nourished on lies, lies, lies. Lies on the nature of “Britain”, lies on the nature of the referendum itself.

The referendum was not clearly thought through by David Cameron – it was merely a political device to win the 2015 general election, a means to counter the effects of potential loss of votes to UKIP. When David Cameron won the 2015 general election, he and his cronies pretended they might support a Brexit vote if they didn’t get a better EU deal at Brussels. Well the pathetic deal Cameron finally got from Brussels he tried to sell to the British as the greatest deal on Earth, and then mounted an extreme propaganda campaign as to why he won’t be voting for Brexit because Brexit meant economic Armageddon, a third world war, and racism all rolled into one. Clearly he had no intention of ever voting for Brexit – he had sold the British public a lie. When he lost, rather than stay and navigate Britain out of the EU as he had promised us, he just fecked off.

Now we are finding that the referendum itself was not well designed and is beginning to fall apart legally. Britain itself with its now multiple layers of governance is legally ever so slightly beginning to fall apart back into its constituent nations Scotland, N. Ireland, Wales and “England” – allowing them to have a say in “Britain out”.

People of Wales want out, out, out ! The Welsh Assembly is not listening to them.

Cameron never expected to get a majority and deliver a referendum. It was a spoiling tactic to undermine UKIP’s appeal in the election, and a bargaining chip to use up in negotiations with the Lib Dems on forming Coalition 2.

17/12/15 – Parliament legislates for an in/out referendum of membership of the EU. This was passed by a majority 6 to 1.
The canvassing from this point on left no doubt whatsoever that out meant out. Dire threats were forecast of the cataclysmic events that would follow an out vote from economic catastrophe to large scale unemployment, a housing crash and the terrible threat of a third world war.

There was clearly no doubt in anyone’s mind as to the seriousness of this decision nor of its possible consequences.
There was no caveat or mention of further debate or referendi.
There was no mention of further referral to parliament – because – out meant out.

What is there not to understand?

Article 50 will be held up by the undemocrats when referred back to parliament, despite their comments to the contrary. This is their chance to regain control. The minority metro’s over the rest of us. The time may well come when we decide that democracy on their terms doesn’t count and we need another process to deliver the mandate we voted for and that they promised us.

Something strange going on. The Telegraph publishes the results of a survey showing the demographic of Leave and Remain voters. 95% of (virtuous) middle class liberals voted to remain and 75% of upper class conservatives voted leave. That’s odd, whenever our national broadcaster is casting around for a story they seem to find bang on liberals to represent the remain camp and D and E “persona” for leave. Until today’s Telegraph I thought I was on my own and was considering changing sides.

Sometimes people with foresight are born and leave messages to those that follow as a warning of what might be.

I trust that every person appreciates the sacrifice that President Juncker has made in taking this extra labour upon himself. Do not imagine, people, that leadership is a pleasure! On the contrary, it is a deep and heavy responsibility. No one believes more firmly than President Juncker that all people are equal. He would be only too happy to let you make your decisions for yourselves. But sometimes you might make the wrong decisions, people, and then where should we be?

The Eurocrat is the only person that consumes without producing. They do not give milk, they do not lay eggs, they are too weak to pull the plough, they cannot run fast enough to catch rabbits. Yet they are lord of all the people. They set the nations’ peoples to work, they give back to them the bare minimum that will prevent them from starving, and the rest they keep for themselves.

Out from the door of the Brussels/Strasbourg farmhouse came a long file of Eurocrats, all walking on their hind legs…out came Juncker himself, majestically upright, casting haughty glances from side to side, and with his dogs gambolling round him. He carried a whip in his trotter.

I never fail to marvel just how much a visionary Orwell was! But of course he’d been among the troughs of the BBC pigsty even then.

One of the reasons I think Orwell’s writing is so perceptive is that he packed a lot of life experience into a relatively short life. He was a scholarship boy at Eton, a tramp and casual worker in London and Paris, a schoolmaster, a military police officer in India, a soldier in Spain, a BBC journalist and an NCO in the Home Guard, finally a crofter in the western isles. Unlike most writers he didn’t wasn’t part of the Eton-Oxbridge-Hampstead axis so saw life from many different angles.

Typical BBC. Somebody in France tell you about something that is against Brexit and you obviously make the biggest headline out of it. I’d vote for any party that promises to end the mandatory licence fee. You should be made to pay your way by becoming a subscription channel like Sky. Then at least it will be only left-wing liberals who fund you.

I wonder how many of the 8500 EU companies in the 27 other states are in talks with London about setting up a subsidiary in London to continue their market access?

Can we have that figure to balance the article?

Yesterday’s development reinforces the fact that Brexit is really happening, like it or not.

With this in mind it is time to be more proactive in making and promoting post-Brexit Britain as a place to do business, an alternative to Europe, more streamlined with less bureaucracy.

It is time to turn the corner (together) and look to shape and embrace our future – not shy away from it.

Judging by the Mugabe Media Lockdown on the BBC TV and radio news on the Commons votes last night, I think we can take it that things didn’t go the way they hoped.
