And so the utterly useless feverishly pro EU Sir Ivan Rogers resigns from his position as UK Ambassador to the the EU in what can best be described as an extended hissy fit and the BBC is right there – rallying to his side. The Today programme has been to the fore today in painting the loss of this ..coughs …wise old cove.. as a body blow to the UK government and proof that the Government has “no plan” for Brexit. The BBC is stuck in June 22nd land. It can’t accept that the UK voted to LEAVE and that the primary focus of the Government and the Civil Service is to get us OUT as quickly and efficiently as possible. The exit of Rogers is a blessing, he won’t be missed. The BBC chooses not to focus on his appalling record as Cameron’s point man in the 2015 “negotiations” with the EU. Nor have they been too concerned about Sir Ivan’s recent proclamation that it could take “ten years” to fully exit the EU. This man is symbolic of the BBC, it too has to go.

Ivan’s resignation has been BBC’s headline news all day. Including his “email to staff” which has been “seen by the BBC”. Do they think we are that dumb? The whole story has been clearly stage managed by the Remain forces. There’s a lot more to come.

Just do a check on his profile for the last 25 years. He has been sought out for high position by every senior fanatical Europhile Politician who has help power in this country. He was sought out over that period by Kenneth Clarke, Leon Brittan, Tony Blair, Gordon Brown and David Cameron for high positions in connection with the EU and whilst in those positions has been deeply involved in facilitating just about every sell-out to the EU that they engaged in. I rather think the above list exposes perfectly where his loyalties and aims really lay.

The boy Clegg was orgasmic this morning at the news of this useless man resigning, predicting hellfire as usual…moron. Loved the ‘Vulcan’s’ quip that Roger’s could not negotiate his way out of a paper bag…that has got to sting!!! Forty years in the EU has rendered our Civil Servants pointless and inept…they just rubber stamp the directives from Brussels…they have got lazy and over-fed…Now the default excuse of Europe is fading, their uselessness will be highlighted as never before. The BBC winding Clegg up and trucking out the has-beens will make no difference…….instead of implementing policy, easy, these moth-eaten civil servants will have to innovate..and they are not up to the job….i fear we will have to hire experienced staff to get going…look at the Home Office and Foreign Office…haha…not fit for purpose, stuffed with time-wasters…..drain the swamp here too….

Clegg hasn’t been too busy, Stew, since May, 2015 for some reason and must have a lot of time on his hands. Another plus is the BBC knows it will not get a cross word out of him, him being fully on board with the agenda.
The BBC has been hugely over-inflating the importance of the LibDems since just after John Major’s time, when it hoped to see a Left and even further Left Parliament with the Right reduced to a small group of Tory MPs representing the ‘hopeless cases’.
Given the performance of the LibDems at the last election (particularly when contrasted with the number of votes UKIP achieved) it is unreasonable for the LDs to have even a tenth of the airtime they actually get.
Yes, when this story was top billing on the World Service’s News Hour (one of the better bits of WS programs) Cleggy was given top billing, though he was referred to as the “former deputy prime minister” , rather than former LD leader, foreign listeners could easily think he was a Tory. Clegg got more air time than all the other commentators put together!
The European Union’s man inside the Foreign Office has resigned. This is a major blow for Junker’s team who’ve lost a key source of intelligence on British negotiating tactics. The BBC are very sad.
The BBC has been hoist by its own petard. Having bewailed the loss of Rogers, who it reminded us is a knighted career civil servant, it is unable to criticise his replacement, Barrow, who is likewise a knighted career civil servant.
The BBC clearly planned to run Rogers’ resignation as its main story for a few days, maybe it was even tipped off so as to prepare. But those rumours may have reached other ears. Number 10 has shown will, ability and speed in replacing Rogers, to the chagrin of the BBC who thought they would have days to play in front of an open goal.
Whining pathetic snowflakes. The BBC makes me sick. It is really too much to take now and it is bordering on the treasonable in that the BBC now undermines this country’s efforts in any way it can.
No reform is possible or desirable. Outright closure is the only course left now.

Agree with what everybody says here, but, he was correct when he said it will take up to 10 years to completely extricate ourselves from the EU’s clutches.

I think the Teezer is procrastinating – I cannot understand why “Sir” Ivan was ever appointed into this critical position in the first place. It was obvious his heart was never in it. (was the “Sir” for services to the EU?)
What you need is someone who does not mind cutting through the Euro bullshit – something like “Claude this is our position – take it or leave it” – not someone who washes his face in Euro excrement twice a day and loves it!
I am afraid the Prime Minister will only do the barest minimum she can get away with, to comply to brexit – You just have to look at her cabinet to see how committed she is to getting a proper, meaningful separation from the EU.
Despite her speeches I think underneath everything Theresa is just like these other EU wives (like Cleggy, Eddy, Peter and Little Timmy) who are being taken away from their EU home by Papa Lazarou and are whimpering and losing bladder control on the BREXIT cart. Fortunately for her, Theresa like all sensible girls just keeps stumm and keeps her tenna ladies to hand!
Still every cloud has a silver lining – At least “Sir” Ivan can now slip seamlessly back under Guys sheets without ever again, having to keep on guiltily glancing at the door and wandering whether Nigel is going to burst in with a big camera.

Ivan’s departure from the Civil service followed him looking on in envy at the career possibilities that open up for the friends of the BBC, e.g. Giles Fraser. Expect him to eke out a living writing for theguardian/Independent/Times and on speed dial for BBC appearances.
