    The government seems to think that pepper sprays or personal alarms are adequate for self self-defence. (It seems kitchen utensils can get you prosecuted if you carry them in your handbag with intent to use them as weapons) The German government recommends a good pair of trainers to run away. The Swedish, a wrist band inscribed ‘don’t rape me’ But if the authorities have lost interest and/or ability to protect their own citizens, things need to evolve accordingly. IMO Pepper spray [for several reasons] is not effective enough for dealing with Mohammedan rape-gangs.

    Let’s conclude by returning to that fuzzy concept of populism.

    Lucy, Too true but they took our guns from us, mainly because they messed up and let him in Dunblane keep his guns. Now it’s only bad guys who have them. Nowadays, I understand, carrying a banana with intent carries a hefty sentence. Quite a result?
