I’m pleased that May is seeking an election in June, she should have pulled the trigger on Labour long before this (IMHO) in fact there should have been a general election after the cowardly Etonian jiggered off when he lost the referendum and she became leader. There was plenty of time to have gotten it out of the way – they’ve only just triggered Article 50 for goodness sake! And there wouldn’t have been all this posturing from the Reamainiacs in the HoC and HoL that we’ve had.

I expect her and the Tories to win with a big majority: she can then negotiate with the EUscum in possession of a strong mandate from the British people, backing a Conservative Brexit manifesto, and without looking over her shoulder at those Tory Remoaners like Soubry or those in Liebour, LibDumbs and ScottishNazs seeking to make mischief; the government won’t need to rely on any other party to get legislation through the HoC, even if there are some rebels in the Parliamentary Conservative Party who would vote against their own government.

The Conservatives will also be able to implement policies such as new grammar schools and ditch the Camerloon / Osborne guff from the current (inherited) manifesto, much of which presumed we’d vote to stay in the asylum.

I thought her speech outside No 10 was good, it laid down the reasons why she felt compelled to go the country – which are plain for anyone to see. If she plays her cards right, she could be a +10 year PM – anyone who thinks that Labour’s problems will go away with the post electoral defeat and defenestration of Comrade ‘C’ are sadly mistaken, that party’s malaise has been long in the gestation and is possibly (hopefully) terminal.
The Lib Dums will go back to being a protest party – their new hobby horse being to take us back into the EU (good luck with that Tiny Tim). The SNP are just in Scotland and even if they won every seat up there, Krankie can’t stop anything if the government gets a solid majority and Treeza will find ways to put the Krank under pressure I’m sure.
It appears, sadly, that UKIP were a Panzerfaust – the single use weapon which got us a referendum and helped in it being won, but with Nigel gone they have no one of his ilk to replace him, but then no other parties have someone like him either – a true political giant and a very, very, rare specimen indeed.

      Al,

Excellent post. Agree with it all, especially the last bit about Nigel. In a class of his own. We have lost almost a year to fannying about.

I hope their will be a major reshuffle, getting rid of any cabinet remainers who are not toeing the line.

Corbyn will have to go but probably replaced with someone just as useless.

There’s all manner of cr@p they could select a leader from: Abbott; Thornberry; Benn; Jarvis etc but none of it will matter a damn, enough of its traditional supporters have rumbled Labour (finally), the party of and for: ethnic minorities; immigrants; immigration and welfare dependents.

It will, I think, be a very long time before Labour can pose a serious challenge and get an overall majority sufficient to form a government on their own.

The problem with a general election is that it “strengthens parliamentary sovreignty” when essentially parliament is for remain. Will the Tories be replacing MPs who voted remain with those who are really pro-Brexit? What about Tory MPs in remain constituencies? Brexit may be inevitable but if May wins she has electoral backing to make all kinds of concessions to connive at a Brexit in name only. The BBC News was blurbing almost immediately after the announcement “Vote Libdem Stay in the EU”

May did well by triggering article 50 before calling an election though.
Labour must be fecked, they have eight weeks to sort themselves and a manifesto out and that will be mainly infighting.
Hasn’t Corbyn also said he is in favour of BREXIT,so he will have to put that on his manifesto, which will lose him votes to the Lib Dems?
We now need loads of Scottish Brexiteers to vote Tory.

  3. Doublethinker says:

The BBC is required to be impartial during election campaigns .Given the Remoaner view that impartiality during the referendum allowed the Leave side to tell huge lies and this swung the vote, it will be interesting to see how partial to the Remoaner parties the BBC dares to be. If the Tories win a significant majority on a Brexit manifesto then it is likely that we really will leave the EU on terms that most of us who voted Leave will be more or less happy with. So for the Remoaners the election is existential, either deny the Tories a decent majority or the game is up.
If the Tories do win a decent majority, fifty plus, and if the BBC has not been impartial , then the time to deal with the over mighty corporation has finally come. There would be no point being a closet Tory Remoaner MP, the game is over, so the logic for them must be to concentrate on keeping your seat at the next election and so getting rid of the most powerful weapon in the Liberal left arsenal , the BBC, would make sense. After all the BBC will have been seen by all those who voted Leave as flouting their charter and trying to undermine the will of the people. There would never be a better time to crush the BBC than after a victory in the forth coming GE. Just DO IT.

I forgot to add that sadly I don’t expect that TM the PM will do anything to rein in the BBC, even if she wins a landslide and they have been outrageous in their anti Tory anti Brexit bias. She ,like so many other Tories ,seems in awe of the foul corporation. Either that or , even after Brexit , the Tories want to maintain the BBC because they must at some level share the same ideals. Perhaps mass immigration and Islamification are the key long term goals of both organisations.

As Michael Caine used to say, not a lot of people (at the BBBC at least) know that:

Only THREE Labour party leaders have won general elections since WWII – Attlee, Wilson and Blair.
Whereas Conservative party leaders – Churchill, Eden, MacMillan, Heath, Thatcher, Major, Cameron won elections.

The only Conservative Prime Minister who failed to win a subsequent GE after his predecessor left office mid-term is Alec Douglas Home. Eden, MacMillan and Major all won the elections after they assumed office. Both the Labour PMs who “inherited” the post, Callaghan and Brown, failed when they went to the country.
I expect May will remain PM after the June GE, maintaining the tradition that the country gives fledgling Conservative PMs a chance at their first GE; not good news for the BBBC.

Just listening to Eddie Mair on radio 4 pm. A vicious tirade against interviewee Amber Rudd, not my favourite Tory but she’s dealing with him well . Essentially Mair’s line is that having a General Election and a Government wanting a bigger majority is anti democratic . He doesn’t like the May statement that parliament is divided. Of course May was referring to Brexit in which instance she is correct, both Houses are full of remainers. Mair ignores this and tries to portray May as Erdogan.
So the BBC is showing its bias very early in the campaign . Who will Corbyn and Sturgeon ( who really does want a one party state) be compared to ?

I think that many of the Labour supporters who voted Leave, will vote Conservative at the GE; to ensure the UK government can negotiate from a strong position and to ensure Brexit gets done.

There are also many of them who realize that Corbyn et al would be a catastrophe for our country and a LibLab coalition government would be even worse and these may just not bother to vote.

    Labour & Conservatives lose seats
Lib Dems gain ‘suprisingly’ large no of seats
We’re told by the media and political elite this shows people no longer want Brexit
A coalition is formed (cons + lib dems) on condition of a 2nd EU referendum on Brexit deal
The country votes to reject Brexit deal
We remain in the EU and life goes on…

BBC series expected to be a happy refugee story … oops

After spending time in Germany “I didn’t realise life was better in Syria”
The husband has left his family of 5 children and gone back to the refugee camp.
In the prog they say the family has split up cos he cannot stand the cultural differences : the way his children have a gay friend etc.
… hmm I wonder if it maybe cos that Germany turns out not to be the playboy’s paradise that Syrian/Muslim men expect it to be.
Family mentions 7,000 Syrian families getting divorced and talk about the father being upset that he hadn’t expected his children to becomes like Germans, he just expected them to learn German and get good jobs.

The story of one Syrian family heading for Europe in search of a better life.
For the last two years, the Dhnie family has been living as refugees in Jordan. In August, the family decided there was no future for them there and little prospect of returning to Syria. They packed up their lives and set off for the EU. Manveen Rana documents the twists and turns of their journey in a series of reports for BBC Radio 4’s The World at One.

Now for the punchline. Drum roll … He says words to the effect of “no, not some world leader with funny hair, but …” and names the creature. I can’t remember what and it won’t be on i-player. So, even in a (not funny) throwaway continuity remark, the anti-Trump drumbeat is maintained or at least echoed or suggested. I know it’s not BBC but am I the only person in the country who thinks Broadchurch was a load of man-hating old shite? If only we too could be decent, intelligent, civilised, non-violent human beings instead of all being abusive, lying, cheating scumbags – eh chaps?

More like Eastenders-on-Sea than anything half decent.

Sadly y’know, its the way that chaps are ‘built’ that make them capable of rape in a way that us ladies cannot ! so you will always be vilified; But I do agree, it was an unsatisfactory ending – in fact I don’t think that Miller’s husband did kill Danny boy, he pleaded not guilty and was acquitted. I reckon he was covering up for their shifty eyed son ! so there.

I don’t need to see anything under the heading of ‘Mainstream British TV Drama’ to know immediately that it’ll be a load of man-hating old shite. The simplistic left-wing tropes run through them all like a seaside stick of rock.

It’s not entertainment, or art – just social conditioning. It’s as if every BBC/ITV/Channel 4 producer/director has only ever understudied Ken Loach.

I stick to the American or foreign stuff on Netflix. A lot of those programs are left wing too but at least they aren’t as blatantly insulting. And the acting isn’t an embarrassment.

In 2010 the BBC clearly promoted the Lib Dem cause as the only hope of preventing a Tory win Vince Cable was an economic guru hardly off the air.

Strangely in 2015 the Lib Dems barely got a mention as Labour were the ones going to stop the Tory majority.

One suspects there is some serious head scratching going on at W1A 1AA as to who they will be supporting this time. Probably back to the ilLiberal unDemocrats.

I know cuts are hurting at the BBC. John Pinnear appeared on the 10pm BBC1 News wearing a borrowed waiter’s jacket that was at least one size too small. Presumably the BBC didn’t run to buying him a new one.

The voters are actually going to be asked if they want the following:

    Jeremy Corbyn as Prime Minister
    John MacDonnell as Chancellor
Diane Abbott as Home Secretary Stop laughing……
Emily Thornberry as Foreign Secretary She loves the English.

It is not a joke, Labour are actually fielding those candidates.

Theresa May cannot believe her luck. A more useless opposition front bench you could not hope to find.

The mauling Labour will receive at the ballot box is going to be embarrassing.

I’ve just sat through the crap fest whilst shouting at the TV that was the extended BBc 22:00 news. Wow the BBc have not completely solidified it’s damage limitation policy. They seem to be throwing everything at it from voter fatigue (so many elections in such a short time ….WTF) to elections are an unpredictable thing. Several interviews with “random” members of the public I particularly liked the genius in a bar telling us that this whole left, right thing is a bit out of date.Oh well several weeks of this to look forward to, oh happy day.

The BBBC know that Labour will be mauled. If they thought otherwise they would be saying “bring it on”.
They wanted the GE delayed as long as possible to allow Labour to regroup under a new leader; now it’s too late and Labour will have to run the campaign under Worzel Dustbyn’s leadership. Unless a lorry malfunction takes out his bicycle..
Ooh sorry, mustn’t give anyone ideas!

What on earth is wrong with someone deciding to do something else, clearly on advice from others close by!

If that’s all the bBBC have to offer by way of serious interview then the next few weeks of their bias will be an utter bore, even more than it is now.

    BBC London news at 2250.
In the light of the GE announcement, bBBC do a vox pop …….in a kebab shop in Hammersmith!!!!! A Labour seat. Guess what? Everyone supports Labour. But also guess what? None of those interviewed is English, they all speak with clearly foreign accents and speak only semi-comprehensibly. And they get a vote ????
So as usual, a totally impartial, agenda free report from our esteemed state broadcaster which is clearly already supporting Corbyn.

Almost every one is some sadly deluded bunch suggesting I join them supporting an even more deluded bunch. Scientists for Remain, The Economist on why Trump is smelly… Etc.

And now, ‘Brtish Muslims For Labour’. Why? They have the BBC.

No comments enabled. Given current legislation, probably a good thing.

Guest Who, I regularly get Facebook ads for ‘Muslim Dating’, with displays of Levantine lovelies wanting to get to know me (at least I assume they’re lovelies, from what little I can see of them behind their burkhas and hijabs). I assume they’ve picked up that I’m on a dating site and that I write about muslims a lot, and have somehow added two and two together and made five. In a way it’s reassuring that Big Brother online bots are still of such limited intelligence.

In a statement on Facebook, the Islamic Cultural Center of Fresno condemned the attack, saying: “The phrase Allahu Akbar, or God is Great, is a prayer of peace for 1.8 billion Muslims around the world.”

Which is why they all shout it while gunning concert-goers down, or lopping people’s heads off.

Tells you a lot about the Muslim notion of “peace”.

In Al Beeb’s words this would be ‘divisive’?
A majority of the people of Great Britain voted to come out of the EU. Westminster does not. It is totally out of touch with the ordinary people of the nation – There is the division !

Brendan, let us hope the decent, ordinary people of Britain remember Jo when they cast their votes.
    We need a Labour government.
    Let’s do it

So I guess the non-decent non-ordinary people don’t have to remember Jo and are free to vote for who they like?

This incident is being discussed tonight on Fox – one comment was that a hate crime is just a small terrorist event. This was in response to the California police stating that terrorism was not suspected.

So glad that the bBBC has enlightened us on some of the issues with the Algerian election. The cynic in me thinks it’s an excuse to show more hijabs.

My brother has just moved to an affluent area. It really explodes the SJW myth propagated by the likes of the BBC that women are oppressed as there are more male than female CEOs. Many of the women here go to expensive coffee shops; have long lunches at classy restaurants; online purchases are constantly being delivered; they watch programmes recorded on their Sky boxes on massive televisions. Then men like my brother get back all stressed out from 12 hours of slog and responsibility; they have one hour to relax then they have to go back to the rat race to pay for everything.

Who is the oppressed party here? I am sure many men would love to swap roles but it is not an option for them.

But of course, there are going to be a few bad apples at the daycare center who will do permanent psychological damage to your children for fun. That’s the price of feminism and diversity.
But it’s a price we’re willing to pay.” Anon.
