BBC accused of ‘disgraceful’ bias over spoof video showing Theresa May wielding a ‘bloodied knife’ – just five days after the London Bridge terror attack
Yesterday, politicians and licence fee lambasted the BBC’s poor judgement.
Conservative candidate Andrew Bridgen said: ‘It’s appallingly bad taste for the BBC to show this at any time, and particularly after the killings at London Bridge. To depict Theresa May as some mad knifeman, particularly in the wake of the terror attacks, is disgraceful.
‘What on earth are the BBC thinking to authorise this?’
The BBC defended the video as satire, and said that the ‘blade’ is in actual fact a comb.
A spokesman said: ‘No blades are shown in this video – Theresa May wields a comb. There’s a long history of satire in this country and the audience for this clip will know it’s nothing more than that,’ a spokesman said.
However, many viewers clearly thought the comb was a bloodied blade – not least because it was mounted on a knife handle and opened up like a flick knife.
Bizarre video from BBC 3…and you have to look really hard not to think that is a knife in May’s hand…even in the photo above it’s not immediately clear….
Why have a comb on a KNIFE handle?
BBC ruling elites! scum!

Yes, but they got away with it , again and again and again. The BBBBC won the election after all the comments about Russia interfering in the US Presidential Election, the swine interfere in our Election. How hypocritical can they get?
they surely deserve “hypocrites of the Year” award plus the sack.

DW,
“The Hypocrite, Fake News , Wanker of the year award ” goes to the BBC. And it is only 9 June.

Katie Hopkins was sacked from LBC for less, that American comedian ( apparently) has lost her livelihood for something similar but the far-left bbc can do this sort of thing with impunity.
Surely the next government will realise that something must be done to punish the bbc, and quickly.

Funny how the left suddenly cares about free speech and comedic context when they’re the ones who fuck up, yet will vilify and ostracise anyone who says something genuinely funny if it’s politically incorrect. Which is more offensive? Jim Davidson mocking his mother-in-law or Jimmy Carr saying he “couldn’t give a fuck” about Diana’s death?

Just to rub it in, the background to the picture is very London Bridge, Southwark side, warehouse style.
Disgraceful.
Funny thing but on my walk to the shops from my Polling Station and while Alan was putting this up, I was wondering whether Lord Hall as Director General – after this Election and irrespective of the winners – should be called before an all-Party group at the House of Commons, to be given a formal warning over the BBC’s poor conduct during the past two years.
If I was PM …
… he would be.

“The BBC defended the video as satire,” yeah right, a crime against satire maybe, if that is what passes for funny on BBC3…
Maybe a short series about Jonathan Swift to atone, no such luck I would imagine.

As much as I hate the BBC, this is total non-story drivel.
Then again I’d expect nothing less from the Daily Fail.

Dap, it’s not just this, it is all the other bias for some time before the EU Referendum, before the 2015 GE even.

I am not worried about a negative depiction of this women. The knife scene is OK with me as she bears responsibility for nurturing terrorists and providing a safe haven for them whilst demonizing people like Tommy Robinson who has been warning us. of the outcome of her policy
She is not getting my vote. It went to UKIP who don’t have a chance in hell, but I will not feel bad when she reneges on Brexit and continues to serve her Arab paymasters.

Doesn’t bother me that much either – quite cleverly done, and a gang knife fight is not anything close to what happened on London Bridge.
I’m not sure of why its biased either as all parties are treated in the same way. Just a bit of fun, bad taste perhaps, but no more than that.
There’s plenty of real bias around and we should save our ammunition for that.

The Anchorman 2 clip shows how little the Americans know about us, or the BBC!
The idea that the BBC would do anything to support Queen and Country or in the name of Margaret Thatcher, “You cannot be serious!” Suits, waistcoats and ties? Since when, 1939?

A bit more recent than 1939, Jim.
