Here’s an equality issue for you which The bBBC may very well not mention.
Each of the two Wimbledon men’s singles semi finals have required more games than the COMBINED total of games played by BOTH the ladies semifinals. Yet the pay for the men and women is the same.
Strangely, the equality industry has little to say on this high profile prima facie example of equal pay for unequal work. I wonder why not?
There was feminist consternation at the beginning of last week that mens’ matches were more prominently featured on the main Wimbledon show courts than womens’ Cue outrage from the equality industry.
Keen as we are on this site to back up our comments with evidence, I note in the Times today it is reported that tickets for the Men’s final are going on StubHub for between £4500 and £18000. Meanwhile tickets for the women’s final are going on the same site for between £1450 and £2450.
Clearly the public vote with their feet (and in this case wallets), despite what the equality industry thought poiice tell us to do.
I for one, am in favour of true equality, in terms of prize money etc.
I cant wait to see how far the women get in an open men/women all encompassing group.
As if !
You may remember that John McEnroe recently got into PC trouble by saying that Serena Williams would be about a 700-ranked player on the men’s tour. He didn’t apologise, good on him, but he forgot to mention that this experiment has already been tried.
Serena (and Venus) issued a challenge to a male player ranked around 300, to see how they would go. A German player, name of Karsten Braasch, took them up on it and drubbed them both in succession.
Serena (and Venus) then re-issued the challenge a week later to a male player ranked about 500. An acceptance came from the player ranked 500, who turned out to be Karsten Braasch — he’d lost in the 1st Round of the Aussie Open, lost a lot of ranking points, which caused him to lose 200 places in a week.
Equality and Leftism; weeds that only thrive where reality has been suppressed.
In August 2015, John McEnroe was interviewed on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. At that time, McEnroe was 56 years old but still active on the seniors tennis circuit, Serena Williams was 34 years old and in the chase for a “calendar-year” Grand Slam. McEnroe mentioned to Kimmel that about 15 years prior, Donald Trump had suggested that he would like to put together a “battle of the sexes” match between McEnroe and Williams. McEnroe said he would face Williams but that Trump was not offering a big enough payout. McEnroe boasted that he believed he could take Williams in a tennis match, but he joked that he would not be so confident if it were a boxing match
The BBC will ignore it because they cannot bash the hated government for unequal pay. These are professional players who earn a fortune so no mileage in it for the BEEB.You won’t see Victoria Derbyshire emoting about it.
If the BBC really cared they could refuse to broadcast the tournament until equality of sets kicks in .But then I guess they know they would lose to Sky. Hypocritical Beeb .
Acid attacks on the rise. It is known to be mostly a minority, ethnic problem, imported from the the third world, and rife in the gruesome world of gangs, ‘honour’ crime, and increasingly a substitute for knives and guns. Yet the beebistan chooses to illustrate their ‘report’ on it with a case of ‘racists’ attacking a muslim, which is not at all typical but, of course, fits their relentless agenda of racism and islamophobia. As usual, whitie is the villain. They are shameless. Who will rid us of this troublesome organisation?
Hundreds of thousands of students graduated in the Uk these past few weeks. Guess what colour, faith and gender the sole person the bBC decided to report on was: Somali UK graduate shares success with tearful mum
Had to laugh at this statement: “My mum moved us here to give us a better future. Somalia wasn’t a very child-friendly place
And now half of the third world is living in the UK neither is London..
Nearly every kid I come across who is a Yooooni student is studying Psychology !!! Is this something that can be included in the single trade agreement ??? because in a few years we’ll be awash with the buggers (psychologists that is).
Brissles – they all do sighkology – cos they are are the kleverist generation ever. Vats y vey all want GerEmEe as pryme minister as he and dyane wil kut thru all ver bull and wil mayke shore vat fings will bee distributed and dun more fairly
Well Brissles,at the rate the establishment are driving us mad with their crazy policies ,we will all be needing them in the very near future.
Mental health is a growth industry if you listen to the BBC. Child mental health on the increase ,depression on the increase etc .Doom and gloom from the Beeb .
I’ve never liked crab, lobster claw is nice, living a mile from the sea, and from a large family there was always crabs being boiled outside in the garden, stunk the area out.
Now sea trout i love the sea trout, thats why ive been posting at upto 3am, then again at 5am,,, as ive been knee deep in the river for 2 hours at first crack of light, fishing with a torch in my gob, even 40+ yrs and i still look forward to june and the fish running thru my stretch, i take my share, 2 fish this year, but ive caught about 40, all of them below .6 of a kilo.
Except 2 i netted under a bridge whilst walking the dog, at midnight, 1.75 kilo and about a kilo, lying 6 inches apart. lucky me.
ll
.
Oak i caught a huge pollock of peel break-water where they tipped a tipper wagon full of queenie and herring guts each day.
Fishing for conger eels, right on the end with a stamped on full mackerel as bait, i thought it was a conger at first, or a seal.
ps oak try towing a little orange perch lure, the little orange rubber fish bout 1 inch of body 2 inch of wagging tail, they swim lovely, lethal for callig, i.e. pollock.
I have to say getting ” out there” is the perfect antidote to all the current bull that the BBC is intent on inflicting on us. Just a pity that it is necessary to give attention to these less pleasurable things in life!
But I have to say a good bottle of scotch helps too (currently sipping Jura = though Tesco s Everyday Whisky is my favourite! – as recommended by Grant)
Yeah, reading here makes me angrier at the marxist ham-shankers than i used to be, as i dont listen to radio, and watch little tv, i just download full series with the excess data at the end of each month…… that’s why i drift from angry/frustrated to ”chatty” for some ”normal”.
I just take my share of whats around me, its the way we lived, and i couldn’t even begin to guess the hours ive spent under the stars, as you say it is a pleasure to be out, we were men of the night…….but they are a young mans pursuits done properly, dogs etc.
Same here MM, do a little radio – but definitely no TV. But even when I did used to watch telly – I was always taken aback by how left wing the BBC had become.
Fortunately Mrs Oak is a very patient lady and puts up with my after dinner rants!
On the subject of fishy tales I heard something on radio 4 this morning (don’t ask me why I think I hit the wrong button while half asleep). Some fearless female reporter was interviewing an eel farmer (if that’s the term) near Lough Neagh.
Parts of it were quite interesting but in between the reporter going ‘Eww they’re slimy!’ and the obligatory ‘Brexit’s going to ruin your industry, innit?’ questions – it was time to hit the off button.
It’s also worth noting that most Somalis here are from Somaliland – a self-governing part of Somalia, which about 20 years ago had a couple days of fighting and nothing whatsoever since. So why are these people here claiming asylum and refugee status when Hargeisa is perfectly safe and being promoted as a tourism destination?
Oh pounce how depressing. A self inflicted dose of c4 propaganda news – first feature acid attacks – burnt tower block again. Not much neutrality from our Cathy – not even an appearance of it. 10 minutes spent on that. I don’t know why the government is doing a public inquiry – whatever the outcome it won’t be accepted. There will be calls for inquiries into the inquiry and on it will go. Andy Birnham will turn up with Doreen Lawrence and the normal lefty ££ lawyer and before you know it it’s 2025 … it will probably be a musical too.
Followed up by an illegal Nigerian going on about fmg gmf or something
Video of Israeli security guards shooting defenceless Palestinians who have mac 10 guns and knifes to defend their peace loving selves ( they had murdered two Israeli cops )
A bit on the para Olympic s
Nothing on tourists being stabbed and killed in an Egyptian resort a couple of hours ago and on the anniversary of the Nice mass murders – which also didn’t get a mention. The terrorist attack in Egypt presumably didn’t get a mention because no Brits were apparently involved – only two dead defenceless
Ukrainians and 4 serious.
The sooner a nice soft target like c4 is sold to the private sector the better .
Yes Manx,
Just thinking that if c4 got privatised without to must gip and got based in Hull for the benefit of all the Islington and Westminster luvvies on it perhaps it could pave the way for the ultimate ambition – the sell off of al beeb .
Just stumbled upon this irrelevant news item its actualy under a story about
Disney characters get a 2017 makeover…OK what’s the “ireleveant” story ??..
Oh it’s the NHS IS THE BEST HEALTH SERVICE IN THE WORLD..
Thankfully my exposure to the BBC is minimal these days. I occasionally switch on R4 when driving, if I’m not in the mood for music.
I turned it on earlier to catch PM with Eddie Mair, who had Lionel Blair reading ‘inappropriate’ remarks (compliments) that President Trump had made to women. I switched over whilst thinking to myself how typically childish it was, and that nothing changes at R4 with their team of 70 year-old adolescents.
A few hrs later I switched on again, just in time to catch ‘A Point Of View’, taking playground insults to another level.
Utterly pathetic! –
Yes mice,
I caught that Lionel Blair thing too. The smug beeboids must have had a good laugh thinking the puerile nonsense up . News programme indeed . Dame Eddie Mayir s ego must be due to explode .
Yes let’s put Jimmy Saville in charge of Children’s entertainment brigade . I can safely say I haven’t listened or watched any BBC this week. Used to have the wireless by my bed tuned to Radio 4 but have now changed it to LBC so catch a bit of that at bedtime and that is it – job done
They are just copying the trump hater stephen colberts show from the US that had andy serkis read out trump tweets in the voice of gollum. They are reduced to this level of idiocy now in their hate of the Don
There is a picture of Andy Serkis in the TV Guide. But he looks like a monkey, not Gollum.
Apparently it’s a film about a Race war in California between Monkeys played by left-wing people who look like Andy Serkis, and humans played by right-wing people who look like Donald Trump.
I suppose political correctness means that the monkeys have to win, and the Humans are not allowed to make Andy Serkis type jokes about monkeys.
Ah, the old ‘Read your enemy’s words in a silly voice to descredit him’ trick! When I watched ‘What the papers say’ years ago, presenters used to do this. Unfortunately, it works. (Try listening to Churchill’s speeches read with a David Beckham squeak and you’ll see what I mean.)
‘The wisest and best of men … may be rendered ridiculous by a person whose first object in life is a joke,’ as Mr Darcy remarks in Jane Austen’s ‘Pride and Prejudice.’
Darcy’s other best line was…” I shall conquer this: I shall!”
I adopted that as my motto and note-to-self last year when I had 2 new hips done and was recovering.
I think it’s even more appropriate these days whenever I hear remoaners and whingers saying if we leave the EU, we’re all going to hell in a hand-basket (no insult intended!).
Mice, I think that is the remedy and am, not by plan, weening myself off it. For some made reason I like RT . You know what you have there. It’s funny that they never mention refugees never go to mother Russia.
Gave on ‘a point of view ‘ ages ago because it was always only one view . It was meant to a replacement for the authoritative ‘letter from america’ but that change sums up the decline of al Beeb. No tv tax.
Dreadful BBC bias was sustained on Radio 4’s ‘A Point of View’ (Friday 20:50-21:00).
The speaker Adam Gopnik is typical of the BBC’s favoured US voices: pro-Democrat, urban, Left-wing, globalist, “liberal” (sic., but in fact nothing like as liberal as he claims to be), anti-White, pro open borders, “intellectual” rather than practical, utopian rather than realist.
He described Donald Trump – after saying how difficult it was to categorize the US President in terms of anyone who had ever gone before – as a catastrophe for liberalism. He constantly likened Trump’s attitudes to mental illness, but with the now de rigueur apologies for this analogy to those with real mental health problems. There was the usual rubbish about Trump and women: nothing of course about Trump’s successful marriage or Bill & Hillary Clinton and their appalling attitude to women (e.g. Hillary’s phrase ‘bimbo eruptions’ to describe the periodic resurfacing of accusations from Monica Lewinsky, Gennifer Flowers, Paula Jones, Elizabeth Gracen et al. about Bill’s infidelity and rape/forcing sex on women). There were hints about treason with Russia … but nothing about Obama’s deliberate blinding of the US intelligence effort to the dangers of Islamic terrorism and immigration, or Hillary’s sale of US uranium reserves to Russia and donations to the Clinton Foundation.
The scrutiny and abuse to which the BBC (and the globalist Left bubble) subject Trump wouldn’t be so bad if they had ever done the same for Obama or Hillary, both of whom should be tried for treason against the United States; but certain favoured people seem to be beyond criticism and so mountains of evidence against them are ignored while molehills are exaggerated when it’s Donald Trump.
Even allowing for its being one speaker’s point of view, this was appalling.
[P.S. I didn’t see Mice Height’s piece above when I started writing.]
I simply don`t listen any more, I get the headlines at 8am and then switch off for the day.
What`s the point-as long as Trump, Brexit and crap like Grenfell provide the blocs of mucus and phlegm for the liberal elites-so nobody need think, investigate, originate, simply reflex and refluxthen I can go online and sift bits.
Will go to iplayer and flick along for Simon Heffer on Any Questions-what the heck would be the point of listening to the maoners and usual BBC floaters.
Brexit, Trump and Grenfell-and all incestuous variations of those topics.
Means they need never think again, until we`ve sloughed them off our payroll.
I heard an apt description of Trump vis a vis the MSM the other day, it likened him to one of those giant Chinese hornets which can attack an entire hive of bees and since they are immune to the bees’ venom; it can kill every bee in the place.
I thought it fairly accurate given the damage (possibly fatal) he’s done to the credibility and viewership of CNN recently. The unfortunate thing is that whereas virtually all the US MSM TV stations are in the private sector, here the most powerful and most damaging of them all is funded by legally sanctioned taxation which makes our own media homonculous immune itself, to any of the pressures that would prove terminal to privately funded broadcasters.
After every Islamic massacre, Obama would not even name the enemy, let alone suggest a method of fighting it.
The most basic thing government should do is keep you safe. He failed spectacularly in this regard. However cool or clever he was, this was the ultimate betrayal. With Hillary it would have been more of the same.
“”Egypt Hurghada stabbing: Two Germans killed at Red Sea resort””
“”At least four other people were injured and a man has been arrested.””
“”The knifeman initially killed the two women before injuring two other tourists at the Zahabia hotel, officials told Reuters news agency.””
“”He then swam to a nearby beach and attacked and wounded two more people at the Sunny Days El Palacio resort before he was overpowered by staff and arrested.””
“”He had a knife with him and stabbed each of them three times in the chest. They died on the beach,” El Palacio hotel Security Manager Saud Abdelaziz said. “”
“”He was looking for foreigners and he didn’t want any Egyptians,” a member of staff at the Zahabia hotel said””

Lack of leadership in UK…will lead to a lack of opportunity.
Nice photo.
I hope Mrs. May realises that the opposition are called the opposition for a reason.
I think a miserable mayor, Sad Khan, was more responsible …
Anyway, thanks for sharing the lovely pix. Even the police are smiling! Betcha they weren’t in Hamburg.
Wasn’t PM Theresa May given the honour of being the first foreign leader to visit President Trump after his inauguration? What happened to the return visit? She couldn’t possibly have caved in to the BBC, Khan and the rest of Her Majesty’s Most Disloyal Opposition, could she?
PM May appears to be a shining example of NATO (No Action, Talk Only).
We just have to look at BBC staffers tweets
Staff Frequently Virtue signal : HATE for Trump/Farage/Brexit and Love4 Obama
And that Breaks Editorial Guidelines
Yet we see no tweets the other way.
Lets consider HER OWN and sidekicks Emma Barnett tweets
The evidence of BBC LibSupremacist bias is concrete & massive
+ There are 2 factors in complaints about #biasedBBC
#1 The number
#2 The magnitude
We can give EVIDENCE of LibBias like the reason 228K people give for signing that licence petition
… and all those LibMob tweets from BBC staffers
– The Momentum sock-puppets posting claims that the Right Wing bias can give mere ASSERTION
BBC experiment … report news factually for a month and see if there is a difference. Such as not adding Jeremy Corbyn giving football tops to EU leaders on news piece on the repeal bill. With big image.
“EU anthem played at Proms’ first night.
No surprise there then, the BBC must be covering it. More subliminal propaganda from the BBC!”
I’m imagining a last night where the crowd smuggle in a load of EU flags
and then and the end whip them up and scatter them like confetti over the Beeboid Trolls
Boss grade trolling on the opening night of the proms.
EU anthem as an encore. Stroking the shaft of the remain camp.
It is one of the greatest tragedies that one of the greatest pieces of music ever written was appropriated by one of the most vile organizations as their anthem. “They’re Coming To Take Me Away, Ha, Ha”, by Napoleon V would have been more appropriate. BBC & EU – both belong in the same piss-pot.
Absolutely correct, Scronker. Formerly, I was able to enjoy Beethoven’s Ninth in its totality at very regular intervals, but since those vile apparatchiks stole the ‘Ode to Joy’ theme (there’s an irony – where’s the joy?), I simply can’t stomach listening to the 4th movement. However, I have always preferred the other movements, especially the 3rd, so I’m consoled by that!
Just watched an excruciating moment on the Pledge (Sky), when air-head June Sarpong (not forgetting the OBE) admitted that she had not seen the film the Dambusters (fair enough), but she didn’t even know who they were !!! Nick Ferrari spluttered when she said it was before her time. What exactly passes for intelligence these days ?
I’ve never heard of her June Sarpong MBE
..ah she founded a networking org for one particular gender to help each other (over the other gender)
.. sounds a bit SEXIST.
Brissles, Henry VIII was before my time and I’d heard about him at junior school, no doubt you had too. I’d also heard of the Red Baron and Edith Cavell at the same sort of age (and similar “before-my-time as her with the Dambusters). Sarpong is stupid and confirms it whenever she opens her bigoted mouth. I now avoid the Pledge like the Plague – which is what I will call it from now on.
Demon, totally agree with you. We had a good grounding of history at school, in as much that details might be hazy, but at least we can say we’ve heard of characters from the past !
Sarpong and her ilk are in the media, where many occasions in the recent past have been commemorating various conflict anniversaries which the Queen has attended, not least the Bomber Command memorial statue in Green Park, so there’s no excuse and its shameful that this 40 year old can claim ignorance !
Sadly I don’t think she’s alone in her generation, but I know when I was her age I believe I had a wider range of knowledge than this lot (and so did those I went to Secondary Modern with !!). I’m waiting for my first encounter with someone who has never heard of Frank Sinatra. (don’t you DARE Grant !)
I never watch The Pledge now and hardly watch Sky news either since they revamped it .
The paper reviews morning and evening are full of trendy people who daren’t say a word out of the current lefty groupthink. Its bland . I don’t care about their opinions .Their lack of insight and education is staggering June Sarpong is the tip of the iceberg. How she got into high profile media. Is beyond me though she was a Blair favourite I think.
I have Sky and watch Fiox news but if times get tough I will have to cancel my subscription .If only I had the choice to cancel the BBC tax.
I agree with you Deborahan, the revamp of Sky has ruined it, and the paper reviewers are the same bunch of ‘writers/authors’ who clearly don’t have enough to do as columnists on their chosen paper, yet come out with the same platitudes whatever the story. And WHAT is it with the news anchors when one minute they are sat at their desks, then after the weather or break they are standing around with bits of paper in their hands.
June ‘what war’ Sarpong – is that like – the war where tom hanks beat the French when he got out of the boat thing . I couldn’t look – it was too loud. Those uniforms didn’t look comfortable either.
People like her haven’t a clue about our history and traditions. Fast-tracked up the career ladder to tick the ethnicity box. Useless. Apparently ‘wrote’ a ‘book’ titled Diversify, celebrating ‘diversity’ and calling for more of it.
Lord help us, we’re f****d.
Well, there are possibly a dozen that I consider to be a complete waste of space (of the programmes I watch), and Sarpong is up near the top. She is nothing more than a ‘nodding dog’ saying “yeah “, “yeah” when in the debating circle, and tries to sound like a grown-up when making her point. I find it staggering she has an honours award.
I’ve never seen less than 3 lefties on the panel.
I think most of the time Nick Ferrari must just give up at the total bollox they come out with.
He was quite quiet on the last show.
It was up to Carole Malone to try and bring some realism to the three blue peters.
Taffman….I was going to post the exact same comment……….The thing is though in every picture of the Donald we are always treated to a picture of the bbbc’s new euro god – macron… By the way, who is that woman who is always with macron? Is it his mother or his grandmother?
I am surprised you didn’t know — that’s obviously Macron’s mother-in-law! (Pres Trump was reportedly caught whispering to Melania, “I have to say, my mum-in-law looks younger than his mum-in-law”).
Richard thank you – not ordinarily an express or mail type but the link was helpful and would encourage everyone to use it. Obviously it won’t achieve anything but got to do something apart from not pay the tv tax

Brussels Broadcasting Co. Is a Full of Politically correct Leftie Liberal Luvvie Juncker hugging Lemons. It no longer represents the British people and is nothing more than an undemocratic Caliphate of Quisling traitors renting themselves to Brussels.
The London acid attacks are obviously provoked by global warming. Grumpy with unbearable heat, people think: ‘I know! I’ll nip down the DIY, treat myself to a chilled flagon of Hydrochloric Acid and throw it in someone’s face until their skin shrivels off! Ahh, that’ll really hit the spot!’
Don’t think the BBC have decided on their response to the acid attacks yet ,but Islamphobia would be my bet.
The scooter robbery attacks have been going on all over London .The acid seems to be an add on this time.Wonder where they got the idea from ?No doubt the BBC will give a full explanation of the origins .
I remember watching a documenary some years back about acid attacks against women in India .Not sure if it was the BEEB .It was truly horrific .

If the criminals are white we will about it. If the vermin are nonwhite albeeb and the police will cover it up with that disgusting ‘legal reasons’ they like to use when convenient. If the criminals are illegals we will never hear that either- only a decent and honest news outfit will fall back on ‘named locally’ .
Once charged or convicted every one , irrespective of age, should be named. Teenagers are responsible for the results of their actions as is everyone else.
As an aside – a bet the shelves of drain cleaner in diy shops are empty…it really is good stuff though. I really have used it to unblock my sink – better than boiling water or bleach.
Just watching BBC Newswatch and rather than the usual frustration and irritation I tend to feel a certain satisfaction this morning.
How come, you ask, were BBC news editors held to account, were presenters oblidged by audience complaints to promise to change their ways? No, of course not. As is often the case lately the BBC didn’t bother to send anyone onto the show to defend the indefensible.
And I think that may be the good news. Viewer complaints were many and varied. All of them valid. From crass news headlines about British players ‘crashing out’ of Wimbledon, to senseless scheduling, through inappropriate questioning of children in Grenfell Tower reports to over-sensationalising reports on that same news story with daft emotive music soundtracks. Then ‘badgering’ the Prime Minister about shedding a tear to arrogant agressive attacking interviews with politicians leading the tone of political debate downward toward a dangerous atmosphere of hatred. All of this adding up to a feeling that the BBC is arrogant, tasteless and self-righteous and is beginning to lose middle England. There’s a general sense abroad that if the BBC can’t even deliver Wimbledon fortnight in a way which pleases the home counties then what’s the point? Naturally our Samira Ahmed offers no solutions on Newswatch – not even a hollow promise that the BBC might change. All indications are that it will get worse. Overall we are left with the impression that many many ordinary middle-of-the-road viewers now consider the BBC to be – to employ a term Jack Dromey might, and did use, twice, on daytime live national tv – ‘shit’.
Perhaps it really will soon be gone.
As I see it – you forget that al Beeb is one of the ‘jewels in the crown’ our once great nation – like out third world NHS – And our mother of expense account parliament.
All valid points ASI. Talking of senseless scheduling, I can’t for the life of me think why they tuck such a relevant program as Newswatch away in the early morning….maybe they’ve got more important things to tell us about?
The ‘Rule of Law’. Fast disappearing. I would have thought the national BBC would have been all over this one since it fits their narrative very well – https://www.jihadwatch.org/2017/07/sharia-uk-burger-vendor-taken-to-court-fined-for-hate-speech-for-criticizing-islam
What if the vendor had denied claiming anything derogatory had been said in respect of islam? The Magistrates would have had to decided which of the two parties were lying. We all know the answer to that question…………..
If as reported it is true then this is a real assault on free speech. Actually I prefer to regard it as a desperate attempt to preserve a fragile peace between peoples in this country at the expense of our ancient freedoms.
Dunno about Clegg, but LBC now is presenting extreme Remoaning as the middle ground
Presenter @JohnStapletonTV was pushing Brexit negativity airing some old Conservative Remainiac : Norman Lamont I think
– Then Iain Duncan Smith and came on and did a sterling job explaining that the public is firmly behind “Get On with it”
… I’ve always admired @JohnStapletonTV I won’t ever listen again.
The island
I think Clegg mistimed his insane and offensive suggestion and was upstaged by Blair – applying – once again – to be president of the EU. Blair claims we won’t have to leave the EU because France and the Reich will do a better deal which Cameron failed to get. I think he sees himself as the reflection of Farage.
Blair had 15 minutes worth on al Beeb. I thought it was interesting that Robinson didn’t ask him whether he regrettted allowing Poland unrestricted access to Blighty on accession thus creating, by a huge instant rise in population, serious trouble in public services and people happy to vote Brexit. I know it’s not the only reason and I know that poles quite rightly want to improve their individual situation . But only uk and Ireland allowed instant unrestricted access.
This was blair s fault. He has dismissed criticism before by claiming the economy could deal with the estimated 64 thousand poles in year one – in fact it was probably half a million.
How about Jacob Rees Mogg as Prime Minister and Priti Patel as Home Secretary or vice versa .
Andrea lead some as Chancellor , Chris Grayling as Foreign Secretary , Bill Cash as leader of the house , and Nigel Farage as plenipotentiary in foreign affairs ?
On a trip to Ilkley in Yorkshire today I read the local rag and found that the local literary festival had two ‘star’ guests, Evan Davies of Newnight notoriety and Shabby Chakrebarti the anti semitism appeaser , BBC favourite and Corbyn buddy. Looking more closely at the full festival programme I realised that it was stuffed full of lefties. Bear in mind that Ilkley is solidly Tory. This seems to me to be symptomatic of how the left has captured the arts and education in this country and even in a Tory heartland the organisers of the local festival are able to present leftist tripe and propaganda and deny any right of centre presenters a platform. By the way Davies is billed as , ‘ one of the most respected economists and political commentators in the country’ . How do they get away with such bare faced cheek ?
“This seems to me to be symptomatic of how the left has captured the arts and education in this country and even in a Tory heartland the organisers of the local festival are able to present leftist tripe……”
Annoying. The bovine Tories must share much of the blame for this.
It has been said many times that the Right won the economic arguments years ago but the Left has won the social/emotional/cultural ones. Unfortunately, eventually the latter begins to have an impact on the former, something the Tories don’t seem to be able to grasp.
Dt, I think you may find that it may be “solidly Tory”, but being predominantly middle class (or middle class wannabes) it will have been solidly Remain – like Harrogate and York.
Harrogate was only just Remain but even if Ilkley did vote Remain there is something unhealthy in having such a preponderance of leftist crap on parade , let alone the odious Davies and Chakribahti. I forgot to add that the theme of Davies will be Fake News in the Age of Trump and Brexit. I ask you , Newsnight has been regularly called out as a purveyor of false news and here is Davies no doubt claiming just the opposite. The people of Ilkley should rise up and kick this loathsome duo out of town.
It’s a shame, as there is some beautiful countryside thereabouts. I can remember as a boy being taken on a driven grouse shoot near the summit of Ilkley Moor; the only such shoot on a council owned moor in the country and a Labour Council at that. Oh, the irony!
The forced merger of Ilkley Urban district council with Bradford , nearly twenty miles away, in 1975 is still a sore point as Ilkley residents pay a high Community Charge and get very little back from Bradford. You will I’m sure know how Bradford spend the money.
Quite right; then Fatty Pickles, when he was the leader of a Tory administration, selling off to developers all the council owned: old folk homes, children’s homes, nursing homes and any other homes he could.
Just, ‘normal’ everyday killings around the World for members of the so-called, “religion of peace” – https://www.jihadwatch.org/2017/07/egypt-islamic-jihadis-murder-two-german-female-tourists-and-five-policemen
I wonder what Emir Khan’s reaction would be if asked? Perhaps, his hackneyed expression, “part and parcel of living in a major city” would be trotted out again. All part of living alongside (or indeed under the control of) the ‘religion of peace’. Get used to it.
He was a good lad really, didn’t want hurt any ”locals”, just a good lad, a gifted dairy-man, he just went abit to far.
A security official said the attacker, a man in his 20s dressed in a black T-shirt and jeans, wielded a knife and intentionally sought to attack foreigners.
“Stay away, I don’t want Egyptians,” the assailant had said in Arabic during the attack, according to the official.
First Night of the Proms last night. BBC couldn’t help themselves. Amongst the (400 or so claimed) sea of white faces for the choral number, the BBC select three youngsters: one white (who throughout donned the expression and mannerisms of a sub-normal) and two blacks. Even of these chosen three, the cameras predominantly focused on the blacks apart from panoramic shots, ignoring the other 398 or so. When it came to the BBC Symphony Orchestra, virtually all free of foreigners, the BBC cameras just happened to be always attracted to the two or three Asian faces. I submit, the Proms poses the greatest challenge to the BBC’s pro-biased diversity team. Without doing a ‘Black and White Minstrel’ job on members of the orchestra they’re stuffed. Problem for the BBC is, as anyone that has/does play a musical instrument to any half-decent level will know, it requires determination over many years. The muzzies simply don’t have the staying power. That deficiency is a part of their cultural makeup – erratic and bellicose. Of course, the muzzies will have a, ‘get out of jail free card’ in that, in power, they will simply ban music as “haram’.
All in all, the Proms has now lost that, ‘something’ for me in the knowledge that it is now being manipulated to satisfy their multikulti desires.
G,
Agree about the manipulation of the Proms G but so is just about every other facet of life in this country, particularly if the BBC are anywhere near it. We , the white Brits, are being sacrificed , along with many of our European brothers and sisters, for a gigantic social engineering experimen which is highly likely to fail. Even if by some miracle it does succeed, and it will be several generations before we can possibly know the result, what benefit will future generations gain? But if it fails , as history tells us it will, it will be a catastrophe. Why did these reckless liberal left idiots force this onto the rest of us?
Yeah lads, some old fashioned tv last night on itv, ”it will be all white on the night” Darts……there was every shade of white you can imagine, lets see the bbc fix that, horse racing the same but with clueless ”how do you feel” rishi.
I know from my sister who works for the council that BBC Look North can remain on a spot for three hours or more. And its known that they are under orders to bag at least one Black ethnic type. I presume that in a nice place like Beverley, after three hours, things could get desperate, and you would then see BBC staff casing Black people down the street. All for three interviews that are edited down to less than two minutes, that include one token Ethnic, one token Woman and one token Male, preferably with a tattoo.
How long, I wonder, before they start taking down statues of old and pale British males and females currently found in towns; cities; universities; schools etc because they no longer represent the majority of the residents; students; pupils etc now to be found there or are somehow deemed to no longer be politically or morally acceptable to remain?
I recall reading about a school which was quite high on the vibrancy scale and it had taken down the Roll of Honour boards for those of its pupils who had fallen in the world wars, as they held no relevance for the…er.. intake of more recent years.
If they cannot ”fix” the diversity ”challenge” with the prom’s, they will abandon it as elitist.
Watch out for,……Are the Prom’s elitist ?. article headline’s.
ps Alex that’s quite funny, replace old bearded white scholars for modern bearded brown person’s of dubious scholarly achievements.
And ofcourse stating the main reason is, they being white for doing so, pure racism, blatant.
The psychology professor babbled on, without the slightest self-awareness of the racism it is, i mean their fucking psychology professor for christ sakes.
Times : Janice Turner: staggering hypocrisy from Abbott in parliament
Former minister Andrew Percy interrupted and said that some of the abuse was ‘driven by the language of political leaders’.
‘When you address a rally with posters of the severed head of the Prime Minister and don’t do anything about it, and when leaders say “ditch the bitch” in relation to the Prime Minister, this is the problem we have at the moment with this dehumanisation of each other in politics.’
* Ms Abbott said they would have to ‘agree to disagree’ * ,
and said: ‘The type of racist and sexist abuse I get is not tied to any events in this particular election campaign.’
She also added that abuse was not just about politicians, and said: ‘Any woman that goes into the public space can expect this type of abuse.’
This is getting interesting … holding groups to the same standards they say to hold. Needs pushing further … and for a yes no answer from Abbott, none of this I hide behind a group or race.

Marky,
She can be clever without realising it – distracting criticism from her performance during the election – throwing sickies – having the Shadow Home sec job taken away. It’s not about colour gender or size . It’s just about competence – whatever colour of politics somebody is.
Politics has been rough down the ages – the sword hanging points in the House of Commons which parliamentary expenses claimed s love to point out as part of tradition.
If a politician can’t take it they should take their fat pension as there are plenty ready to put their snout in the taxpayers trough too!
I would not mind if Diane Abbott was thoughtful and interesting. But listening to her saps me of thought and energy.
Have a listen to Obama for a similar experience. You want to hear something interesting but it’s just words. At the end ask what did I learn from that person. The interview on Sky with Diane Abbott regards the Harris report sums up her knowledge and depth.
The Government’s ‘Prevent’ strategy appears to only relate to schoolchildren and students, ‘at risk of being radicalised’. Shame the scheme does not include other age groups, social classes and those generally at risk. The Government should extend the scheme to embrace ‘Hate Crimes’ also. As one OAP who believes he is being radicalised by becoming increasingly fixated and angry at being surrounded by people that patently hate me and are hostile to my way of life and ethnicity, it is vitally important that I should seek help right now as I am quite convinced, despite needing another hip replacement (and naturally despite Brexit) I am becoming increasingly dangerous and far more so that a 4-year-old coming to grips with the English language –

“Ed Miliband, Sir Vince Cable, Kenneth Clarke, Lord Falconer, claim in a letter to the government that there was a “fundamental failure” in Ofcom’s investigation into the proposed £11.7bn takeover of Sky by 21st Century Fox.
The MPs say that the media regulator did not properly consider allegations of sexual harassment at Fox News and the phone-hacking scandal at the News of the World as part of a review into whether a combined Fox and Sky would be committed to meeting broadcasting standards.
… claim that the bar is met for a detailed investigation into broadcasting standards by the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA),”
Ofcom defended its report. A spokesperson for the regulator said:
“We carried out detailed, evidence-based assessments, examining both broadcasting standards and media plurality aspects of the proposed takeover. The secretary of state will now decide on the next steps.”

We are bombarded with various begging ads on the tv, – one telling the plight of 10 year old little girls who when they reach 12 years are married off to men they don’t know, and have children themselves at age 14.
Today chatting to a friend who is a volunteer at a local hospice, she told me of a fellow volunteer (Islamic) who challenged another young Asian helper as to why she was there. The young girl said she wanted to be a doctor and was doing background work in the quest for her goal. According to my friend, the Islamic woman really laid into this young lass, saying she should be at home and married with children as soon as she started menstruating ! Even the Asian girl was taken aback, and retaliated by asking if she was expected to start bearing children at age 10 !!! There was a bit of a hoo haa over this, BUT this attitude is real amongst the Muslims, and makes a complete mockery of the begging adverts to help children abroad, when its on our own doorstep ! Of course they want the women to breed as much as possible – birth defects or not, so that world domination of Islam is a reality. Why are we the only ones to see this ???
The men’s game is much higher quality and brings in more money and viewers so they should be rewarded accordingly. By this logic, female super models should have to give loads of money to male models because male models are not as popular and do not generate as much income.
Why not share their prize money with the wheel chair players? So what if fewer want to watch the wheel chair game – isn’t it discriminating against people with disabilities to pay them less?
I just know the new Doctor Who will be female and the airwaves will be throbbing with SJW orgasms. Executives will be patting each other on the back for yet another progressive milestone reached. Never mind the acid attacks, death of free speech and FGN. A female Doctor Who! That wouldn’t make everything right with the world.
I would love it if Trump got the wall built out of solar panels and it really helped the environment. What an SJW quandary for the Beeb that would be. I am sure they would still find a way to spin it in a negative light.
I want him to Tweet out some more funny memes. The Left cannot meme.
It is (another) one of Trump’s successes, unsung by the MSM, that illegal immigration across the southern border has plummeted since The Donald became POTUS; in Guatemala people smugglers have seen their “clients” evaporate, as word filtered back that illegals WILL be deported.
Now that Trump has gone along (twice) with the cucks in the congressional GOP, when they tried to tear down Obamacare and f****d it up, we should hopefully see him pivot to immigration and get THEM to go along with him to get the funding in place for the wall.
He needs to be rid of Rinse Penis and replace him with Steve Bannon as Chief of Staff, who is much more in tune with what the people who actually put Trump in the White House want to see get done and who was instrumental in actually getting him elected.

And now we have the results of the doubles finals.
Mens doubles. 5 set marathon taking over 4 hours, 13-11 in the final set.
Womens doubles . 2 sets 6-0 6-0 all over in 55 minutes.
Yep, the losing women did not win a single game. Strength in depth, eh?
And the men for their effort get the same pay as the women.
Equality? Total bollocks in my book.

I for one, am in favour of true equality, in terms of prize money etc.
I cant wait to see how far the women get in an open men/women all encompassing group.

I have to say getting ” out there” is the perfect antidote to all the current bull that the BBC is intent on inflicting on us. Just a pity that it is necessary to give attention to these less pleasurable things in life!

Will go to iplayer and flick along for Simon Heffer on Any Questions-what the heck would be the point of listening to the maoners and usual BBC floaters.

The most basic thing government should do is keep you safe. He failed spectacularly in this regard. However cool or clever he was, this was the ultimate betrayal. With Hillary it would have been more of the same.

Brissles,
I never watch The Pledge now and hardly watch Sky news either since they revamped it .

Well, there are possibly a dozen that I consider to be a complete waste of space (of the programmes I watch), and Sarpong is up near the top.

The BBC is a prime example.

I presume that in a nice place like Beverley, after three hours, things could get desperate, and you would then see BBC staff casing Black people down the street. All for three interviews that are edited down to less than two minutes, that include one token Ethnic, one token Woman and one token Male, preferably with a tattoo.

Ofcom head Sharon White is doing such a good job that’s just been given a 15% payrise

In other news LibMob figures criticises Ofcom for failing to top Sky takeover

How can the head of Ofcom be worth twice as much as the Prime Minister?

Anyone can be worth twice as much as the current Prime Minister – the sum total of nothing.

Exactly. We all look different and come from different parts of the world and have our own cultural characteristics but we all think the same.
No, it’s not from 1984 or Animal Farm, but it might as well be.

She’s got Page 16 of the Express TV mag
Strange cos she is officially the Times cookery expert.
Is it a case of “please don’t bomb us we employ Nadiya” ?

Apart from baking a lop-sided cake for the Queen, what exactly is her claim to fame?
She doesn’t strike me as a second Delia Smith or Michel Roux.
