    And what a problem that poses for the BBC! I wonder which intersectional favourite triumphs – homosexuals or Mohammedans? Much heart-searching in the editorial meetings, I’m sure. They’ll have to phone the Guardian for a ruling.

    At the National Opera in Cluj Napoca, Romania, a concert that included an imam performing the Muslim call to prayer was interrupted by people singing the national anthem. Five people were peacefully escorted out and fined by the local police. Codrin Goia, one of the people escorted out, declared:

    “Yesterday, October 1, 2017, a multicultural piece was held at the National Opera in Cluj. This concert was supposed to bring a message of peace, but I heard with a group of friends, a group of nationalists from here in Cluj, members of the New Right party, that a Muslim imam would scream “Allahu Akbar”, the same chant all the terrorists who commit attacks and murders scream.       Mr Jeremy – I have heard a BBC reporter refer to a ‘Lootenant General’ in the British Army. Anybody under 40 (too young to have had parents of the WW2 or National Service generation), and particularly those of a leftist position – ie, most BBC reporters – are unlikely to know or care anything about the forces.

    I was on the edge of my seat waiting for the PM to cough up her plan to privatise al Beeb and abolish the licence tax.
    Instead she said “duty” a lot and wished she wasn’t standing there.

    Al Beeb kept on showing boris and the little Asian girl who spends the 13 billion taxpayers cash overseas because of the compassion. My compassion sits with the elderly in Blighty who need decent social care but they didn’t get a mention. The longer she is in place the surer Corbin will be of chairing the cabinet in 2018 or sooner .

    The last Tory leader who coughed that long was IDS and he was dumped soon enough. People seem to like bluster these days – Corbin – McDonald so I guess they’ll go for boris once they’ve got rid of the bodies.

      Police have no money – Paint a hate crime car, monitor the internet for right-wing conspiracy, have big festivals and lots of protests managed by the police force. More diversity.

      The NHS is on the edge (again) – Immigration up, health tourists up, BBC ‘Charlie from Casualty’ is paid £400K to pretend to be a nurse for 1 hour when he could be replaced with 11 real nurses (£35K) doing 35 hours a week.

      Housing is not affordable – yet Jeremy Corbyn had 34 years to sort Islington out and ‘Islington performed near the bottom of the distribution on wellbeing, environmental quality, housing affordability and safety.’ (NatCen sep2017)

      London is Open – but Mayor does not want President of a democracy and largest economy to come to the UK.

    Listen for an entire hour, as the despicable Jonathan Vernon-Smith on BBC 3CR “investigates” the deeply racist “proposition” that “White people do not care for their elderly relatives” – “white people are more selfish and do not want to make sacrifices for elderly members of their family” etc. It goes on and on….. numerous examples of brown people calling in and saying how they look after their elderly, and that white people do not, etc. etc. for a full hour!!

    Does Eddie Mair have an alcohol or drugs problem? I’ve always considered him to be quite a good interviewer.

    My reason for asking is that he was interviewing Amber Rudd on PM tonight (R4 from about 5.15pm or so) and was asking the weirdest questions. He appears to be ‘stoned’ or at least to have indulged in too much ‘hospitality’. It seemed so bad it was like he may have taken something prescribed by ‘Dr.’ Timothy Leary.

    Is he known on the BBC Rumour Mill (not at all like Pebble Mill) to have “a problem” ?

    Amber Rudd was very patient, gentle and compliant with Eddie. In her place, I would have been tempted to ‘do a John Nott’ after putting the BBC firmly in their place.

    Just heard Eddie Mair use his “interview” with Amber Rudd to trash Boris Johnson.
    From Liverpool to today, and via Erdogan-all the usual smears were listed-and Eddie wanted to know why Boris was still around.
    All this under a concern about how the Libyans might worry about Mays…er…”judgement”.
    Eddie was “just asking”…but it`s clear over the years that personal abuse of Boris is what he does. Only assume that Brexit is his terror, and popular advocate of it has GOT to be stopped.
    This was NOT journalism-just personal abuse from some bald gay Tartan fop on £400K or so a year. When the hell are we going to see a few heads like his roll?…as long as he gets paid to do his Judge Freisler rants , we deserve to be mocked and insulted by the likes of Mair, Marr and the rest of `em!

      Leftie journos hate Boris with a passion. I think we all know why!
      The other morning I caught the beginning of The James O’Brien show on LBC. God, this bloke is an appalling creep. He absolutely oozes vitriol. The programme started with a two minute stream of pejorative adjectives denigrating Bozzo. This wasn’t journalism; it was character assassination. Hurriedly I fumbled for the off switch.
      These over paid, talentless toerags seem to infest the airwaves in Britain. It’s almost impossible to escape them.
      O’Brien is a particular favourite on Newsnight (I wonder why?) regularly standing in for Evan Davis.
      A couple of years ago, on his LBC slot, he very nearly came a cropper when he had an ill thought out “pop” at footballer, Frank Lampard. We were told that Frank had deserted his girlfriend and gone off with a floozie.
      As usual O’Brien hadn’t checked his facts and soon a VERY angry Frank was on the phone.
      It was delicious to hear the snivelling leftie back pedal and apologise. What a gutless, pathetic wimp.
      Frank was on the verge of paying the snotty LBC hack a visit.
      Oh… if only!

    Anyone on here with knowledge of the oil industry?

    Why, according to the BBC’s supplier of market information, has Brent Crude and West Texas Crude not been traded for 10 days now? Is oil trading suspended because of the OPEC Meeting and/or the Hajj?

    Or is it something else associated with the BBC that is not working properly?

      Oil Price. com is the site I use. I don’t bother with the beeb site as I noticed that the headlines didn’t equate with the up to date price. Anyway, it is being traded so not sure why the beeb isn’t updating. Maybe they’re busy in the slagging off the Tory party editorial department.

    OG & Synch, thanks for that. I know places to get prices it’s just that I have a habit of logging on to the BBC w/s and sticking there, using the info provided in Business. I’m not day trading so it is not vital for me. It’s where they get their currency numbers for News Bulletins although they do sometimes manage to get that wrong, using the wrong figure (previous days!) or miscalculating the Euro to Sterling value.

    Something must have gone wrong at DigitalLook.com with their updating.

    They often have little glitches, like no market movement being shown as a % gain or loss or the previous days close on a share price not being carried through to the start of next days trading. The BBC are obviously happy with them. In a way, they are a well-matched pair! Am surprised our Witchfinder General (maxi) hasn’t been moaning at his bosses to get a better service provider.

    I know it’s not the BBC in this case, but all the soaps copy one another anyway…

    I find it absolutely disgraceful that on Coronation Street tonight they had a white rape gang being pronounced “guilty” by an “asian” foreman of the jury!

    What a complete and utter misrepresentation in the light of Rochdale, Rotherham etc MUSLIM rape gangs.
    Pathetic trying to suggest this is anything other than an Islamic problem.
