Five Live just had a chat [around 18:45..ish] with some expert on Iran who was obligingly completely on-message as he laid into Boris and told some whopping great fibs about what is going on….Tony Livesey agreeing with every word.
The big lie is that Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe was arrested in 2016 for activities she carried out on her visit then, inside Iran. She was not. The BBC insist that Boris said she was teaching journalists at that time in Iran…he said no such thing, he made no mention of time or place….he wouldn’t because he undoubtedly knows that Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe was arrested for activities she allegedly carried out during the 2009 Iranian uprising….from here in Britain…
“Some of the group were outside Iran, including the suspect Nazanin Zaghari.”
…as she worked for the BBC Media Action.
Nazanin worked for BBC Media Action between February 2009 and October 2010, “in a junior capacity as a Training Assistant” according the CEO of the Thomson Reuters Foundation, before moving to Thomson Reuters Foundation.
This is a deliberate deception by the BBC which is meant to divert attention away from its own role in Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe’s arrest….and its lack of action to help her.
The BBC continues to perpetuate this lie in its online report today..…
Richard Ratcliffe met with Boris Johnson after the foreign secretary said during a Commons committee hearing that Mrs Zhagari-Ratcliffe was in Iran to “train journalists” – which could lead to her five-year jail term being doubled.
No he did not.
Arrested in 2016 for activities in 2009. Boris knows that.
The BBC demands to know what the government is doing, and demands Boris be sacked, what is the BBC doing for one of its ex-staff now thrown to the wolves and abandoned? Sack Lord Hall Hall.
If they really cared so much about the woman they would stop giving her case so much publicity. Bullies like the Iranians only get worse when they can see you are getting upset. And of course if they think they could gain a scalp or two as the BBC demands they will play even harder ball.
The BBC act like a spoiled toddler having a tantrum.

Fortunately, toddlers eventually grow up and mature. No expectation of the BBC doing the same.

Strange that today #Biasedbbc/MSM say Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe was only on holiday in 2016
So ? The Iranian gov had already said she was arrested for activities connected to the 2009 uprising
… as this 2016 Amnesty page says

Hysterical : Today’s #Biasedbbc narrative is that Brexit is a Russian caused #TwitterRevolution
yet that term was used to describe 2009 uprising in Iran
This 2016 Guardian article uses it in describing the reason4 Nazarnin’s arrest

It never fails to amaze me regards people once they gain a Western passport feel that they are safe to return to the motherland in which to visit family.l

Just to add to Pounce’s comment “… and claim an inalienable right to bring their families and extended families over to Britain.”
The BBC have also been running stories where asylum seekers, who have been given permission to remain in Britain indefinitely, then go on to make claims that their first five weeks or so in Britain (in detention while being processed) was the worst torture they have experienced on god’s Earth. And the BBC run these stories to “prove” Britain to be institutionally and culturally racist.
Of course a little thought and analysis shows this to be pure hypocrisy, suggesting the asylum seeker’s definition of torture and living hell is nothing more than having to wait a few weeks in a safe space and so should be returned from whence they came.
Here is an example:

This is about getting rid of Boris. They’ve done Fallon and Patel. They’re working on Damian Green. Boris is THE target now for the BBC on behalf of Jeremy. The lady in Iran is a convenient vehicle. Meanwhile there are a few other birds to kill with that stone. But, with few personalities in cabinet, Boris is THE ONE to nail. I think it’s a puzzle and a pity he’s not being a little more assertive. Meanwhile they lie in wait for David Davis, he’s bound to slip up and then you can nail Brexit at the same time. That should be the end of May…
I remember Emily Thornberry saying on the BBC one Sunday night that Labour had actually won the election (and believing her own outrageous lie). The BBC picked up on that narrative, think its doable, and are determined to make it come true. (The voter, after all, like the BBC Poll Tax payer can safely be ignored and loathed).
