A friend, non-political, carefree sort of a chap, emailed
me today and mentioned that he had drifted away from Radio 4, after half a lifetime, and was now mostly listening to LBC. Why?

The decline of radio 4 is such a tragedy. I remember falling in love when I chanced upon it in my mid twenties, in awe of how fantastically intellectual and high brow it was.

Now it is so dumbed down and the deliciously esoteric programmes about watch making or whatever have been usurped by SJW garbage, generally whinging about something or other. Apparently it was a ‘problem’ that not enough ‘minorities’ were listening to the station, though I see no problem in different groups preferring different things. Now they have alienated their core liststeners and I doubt many Rastafarians are going to switch from Kiss FM for the agony of hearing some posh woman moan she is not paid enough.

        Very wise.
LBC presenters are not the sharpest knives in the cutlery drawer.
I was amazed a month? ago when Fatso Ferrari was doing a spot on recycling. Fatso was completey stumped when a manufacturer of window panes rang in to saby a lot of window pane trimmings and broken panes were recycled. “How do broken panes get turned in whole panes again” he pondered.
He even ashed listeners to ring in to explain how this miracle could be performed!!!
Midget Nawaaaaaz also thinks zygotes and foetuses. growing inside a human womb are not “human life”. BBC types at least can learn the lies they are meant to parrot with 100% accuracy – that’s what an oxbridge education does for you, but Midgit forgot the “sentient” bit in his crib sheet. A mother can’t bump off her 15 year old son because he’s “sentient human life” but a baby in a womb is fair game.
Fogerthy is pro abortion on demand but is barely sentient so she had better not annoy her mother

Standard ‘Infiltrate and destroy from within’ tactics from the BBC. She didn’t drop out of favour with her previous employer. She was sent on manoeuvres, to get LBC ‘on message’. Obviously, they thought that Jobby wasn’t cutting it. He got a few Newsnight gigs as compensation.

      • Fred Stubber says:

Well you are very foolish. LBC has a range of viewpoints, unlike the BBC, and it’s good to listen to them. Turning off because you don’t like what you hear, when the station allows all viewpoints, is not good.

If I am correct then today is Prime Ministers Questions.

What will probably happen is this:

Corbyn asks stupid hard to answer questions. May replies to him and makes him look like a tit. Corbyn repeats the same questions a few times working on a theme. May continues to beat Corbyn down and put him in her place. Corbyn comes out with a witty reply but it blows up in his face when May’s reply is even more witty.

In the end the Guardian (which is the BBC’s newsletter) and the other left wing rags will all claim that PMQs was another ‘victory’ for Corbyn wile some lefty twonk at the BBC will join in and highlight Corbyn’s witty comment in an online news report and present their opinion as fact, only highlighting half the story and leaving out the parts where Corbyn was incorrect on a number of issues.

This said story will appear on the BBC’s website for all to see as a desperate attempt at keeping the Corbyn fire burning while new opinion polls will still show leads for the Tories much to the dismay of the BBC and their newsletters.

Aside from this I am sure that the BBC will have other ways to present their own opinion as fact while someone in the background is wondering why their is a slow decline in the number of people signing up to a TV license!

Smoogie – you are probably right because in BBC world these things matter.
Unfortunately in the real world these things dont and while the Guardian reading BBC progressive droids try and keep us all concentrating on the the semantics and the oohs and aaahs of the political circus manned by amateur clowns, backstage we are all being sold down the river by a political class hellbent on keeping its advantages and easy life at the expense of our freedom of speech, freedom of expression, the innocence of our kids and our cultural integrity.
I like to think of it this way. Both Labour and Tories are taking us towards the same distopian destination. But with the Tories they are just making a few more stops on the way. Dont be taken in by the likes of Mogg he is now just another busted flush and just as “frit” as the rest of the Tories when it comes to putting the Country ahead of party.
The political class and the media have all but merged in a loose conspiracy to maintain globalist business as usual. And if you dont like it – well ask Tommy Robinson, Paul Golding and Jayda Francen what happens next.

As the last time I ever watched a football match was Luton v Watford in 1965, I’m really looking forward to listening to shrieking ‘commentators’, bellowing inane yelps and squeaking ‘pundits’ saying ‘you know’ every three seconds. I suppose Lineker will get a bonus or three for his amazing insight and brilliant wit – what’s ten-percent of a squillion…?

The awful bbbc do all this with whizzy motor cars as well, expecting everyone to rise up and praise the Lord for such bravery, such – er – money an’ that!

But of course, England will lose because of Brexit.

Scrobby – those were the days when all the players were home grown and white, with names we could pronounce (like tennis). I was the same – a huuge Spurs supporter in the days of Pat Jennings, but I could barely name even one of today’s players, most of whom are foreign and I bet couldn’t care less which team in the UK they play for as its only the money wot counts.

Of course, all overseas aid is bribes to get arms etc sales, but what a farce! I don’t know if the bbbc picked up on the story, they usually hate Arsenal!

I liked listening to the Brazilian commentators. They remind me of how the BBC works, totally one sided. Brazil score a goal and it is total ecstasy. The other side score a goal and barely a murmur. You wouldn’t even know a goal has been scored.
Occasionally, if the goal is seen as being wrong a barrage of expletives heads to the opposition or the referee. Sounds like almost any BBC Question Time, morning sofa news, SJW documentary or soap opera.

Mind you, the publicity in Beziers is not huge either. Tickets though sold out overnight as France made the final match. Got ours last week. We will be spotting the BBC reporter. Not much hope of finding one though judging by the coverage so far.

According to QAnon reports, all the negotiations happened some time ago, in China. What’s happening now is theatre for the media.

Also, there are indications that the reason Kim Jong-Un is looking so pleased and relaxed is because President Trump has broken the grip that the CIA has had over North Korea for the past 60 or so years. The reports suggest that the Clowns In America have used the country as the hub for their illegal businesses including drug and other trafficking.

Think the generally agnostic and/or atheistic BBC would rather struggle with that or perhaps prefer not to mention it, especially as it raises issues about the Church of England and its links with our nation and its Monarchy.

Reading the BBC’s coverage of the G7 meeting I am left with the impression of an irrational, insulting, arrogant, inflexible Trump bullying the nice, civilised, reasonable Europeans into making disadvantageous trade arrangements with the US based on Trump’s spurious claims over tariffs and the funding of NATO.

Reading the BBC’s ongoing coverage of the Brexit negotiations I am not left with the impression that the Europeans (Juncker, Barnier, Merkel et al) are in any way irrational, insulting, arrogant or inflexible and nor do they make spurious claims – about anything.

The blame being placed on the climate change, loss of habitat and the overuse of pesticides.”

“Almost 20%” – rounded up to make it more exciting.
“New report” – does not mention who created the report, people who want more money for another report.
“Climate change” – yes it does.
“Loss of habitat” – no mention of building houses for people due to mass immigration?
“Pesticides” – will require more if less land available to grow food to maximise space and productivity.

      MM,
In the case of the Red Squirrels.
They were doing very nicely thank you until an immigrant race of grey squirrels arrived. These were more aggressive and started taking over the land where the red squirrels were living.

      Red flight.

Now, the indigenous red squirrel looks to be going the way of the Aboriginee, Maori, red indians and other ‘enriched’ indigenous inhabitants.

      First they arrive.
Then they form areas (ghettoes?) which they expand from.
      The locals leave.
They take over and expand more.
      The locals retreat further.
The ‘immigrant (grey squirrels for example) then take over completely.
      Bye bye indigenous.
Oh, and those happy to see this takeover were also exterminated.

Mr D pointed out that the species increasing in numbers, according to this report, all turn out to be predators. Might the two things be related? Shame the report cannot state the obvious.

A wildlife bill was introduced some years back in the UK which made the job of game keepers as controllers of magpies, badgers etc near impossible. I for one now have crows and magpies living in my garden. I no longer have swallows and housemartens because the bloody large birds have eaten them. We had a lovely clay nest that house martens built, full of chicks until one morning we went out, chicks on the ground dead and a large hole in the nest made by the magpie. But the BBC would never report that sort of thing, much more PC to claim it was Climate Change that did it.

I had two Blackbird nests and a Dunnock nest on my estate, all hatched OK judging by the number and frequency of feeding trips. The other day there was a cacophony of alarm calls from both the sets of parents who were a bit annoyed at having their fledglings pinched by a couple of Magpies. And they wonder about the decline in songbirds and blame it on everything, climate change, loss of habitat, cats, et al whilst overlooking the bloody obvious.
There has also been a decline in the number of swans recently and they cannot explain this either, possibly, they say, down to where they over winter suffering due to, you’ve guessed it, climate change. Swans are a delicacy in parts of Eastern Europe .

At Chateau Shubtill we’ve had a pair of Bullfinches with two fledglings, that managed to survive the predations of Maggies and Jays; they nested in a large Leylandii hedge that they were very careful how they entered and exited, so as not to give away the location of the nest to any watchful eyes.

I once saw a Crow hide a crust of bread in the top of the hedge, shoving it down as far as it could; then a Magpie came but didn’t have the same reach as the Crow, so much to its frustration couldn’t retrieve it.

I’ve seen a group of Magpies kill another smaller of their kind, continuously harrying and attacking it, they are a completely ruthless predator.

Oddly, he overlooked the primary cause for the massive decline in water vole numbers: the mink – one of natures most voracious killers released into the wild by those he admires so much, and the disastrous effects of Grey squirrels on Red squirrel numbers. Still, best to blame the Tory elite, eh?

The problem with so many politicians, especially the liberals, is they have barely had a paper round between them. How could Obama give the exact date he was planning to get out of Iraq? Obviously the enemy would recede then regroup after that date, which created ISIS.

    Not Islam.

    Not their leadership.

    Not themselves.

    THEY BLAME THE COUNTRIES
    THEY ARE HAPPY IN!

And they want to change the countries they’re happy in, to be like the countries they came from where they were unhappy!

    ARABS:

Everyone seems to be wondering why Muslim terrorists are so quick to commit suicide.

Let’s have a look at the evidence:

    No Christmas.

    No television.

    No nude women.

    No football.

    No pork chops.

    No hotdogs.

    No burgers.

    No beer.

    No bacon.

    Rags for clothes.

    Towels for hats.

Constant wailing from some idiot in a tower.

    More than one wife.

    More than one mother-in-law.

    The female’s genitals are mutilated.

    You can’t shave.

    Your wife can’t shave.

You can’t wash off the smell of donkey.

You wipe your #$%$ with your hand.

You cook over burning camel sheeet.

Your wife is picked by someone else.

Your wife smells worse than your donkey.

Then they tell you that “when you die, it all gets better”.

No sheeet Sherlock! It’s not like it could get much worse!

I had other reasons for consulting the The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regs 2008 but what tickled me was Reg. 7 and its hypothetical application to the Government and/or BBC:
“7.—(1) A commercial practice is aggressive if, in its factual context, taking account of all of its features and circumstances—
    (a) it significantly impairs or is likely significantly to impair the average consumer’s freedom of choice or conduct in relation to the product concerned through the use of harassment, coercion or undue influence; and
    (b) it thereby causes or is likely to cause him to take a transactional decision he would not have taken otherwise.
    (2) In determining whether a commercial practice uses harassment, coercion or undue influence account shall be taken of—
    (a) its timing, location, nature or persistence;
    (b) the use of threatening or abusive language or behaviour;
    (c) the exploitation by the trader of any specific misfortune or circumstance of such gravity as to impair the consumer’s judgment, of which the trader is aware, to influence the consumer’s decision with regard to the product;
    (d) any onerous or disproportionate non-contractual barrier imposed by the trader where a consumer wishes to exercise rights under the contract, including rights to terminate a contract or to switch to another product or another trader; and
    (e) any threat to take any action which cannot legally be taken.
    (3) In this regulation—
    (a) “coercion” includes the use of physical force; and
    (b) “undue influence” means exploiting a position of power in relation to the consumer so as to apply pressure, even without using or threatening to use physical force, in a way which significantly limits the consumer’s ability to make an informed decision.”
Reg 7(2)(c) particularly applies to the bBBC

Russia holds solo military exercises on their border with a small former Baltic Communist State – the BBC is aghast at the aggression, horrified that errors or mistakes will lead to conflict and are worried about the future.

The US President announces his country will put a temporary hold on JOINT military exercises on the border that was in a state of war with his country and a smaller separatist State and which has not formally ended. The BBC is aghast at potential increases in peace, horrified that errors or mistakes will lead to friendliness and co-operation and are worried about the future.

There is no pleasing the BBC.

That is, there is no pleasing the BBC until the BBC and its Director General is the Ruler of the World and 7.6bn+ people are paying the Licence Fee.

Did the far-left bbc cover the Bilderberg meetings last weekend? No, I thought not.

According to Luke Rudkowski, reporter for wearechange.com, he and his team were the only ones there attempting to find out what was being discussed. That despite the mass security surrounding the attendees, the harassment and threats the were subjected to, including one of his colleagues having his hotel door kicked in and a gun pointed at him by Italian police.

What are these people planning that’s so secret and dangerous for us to know about? You’d think the far-left bbc would be a little curious to know.

The opening lines of this are interesting: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-44462829

“Sections of the UK car industry face extinction unless the UK stays in the EU customs union, the president of the CBI has said.

Paul Dreschler also said there was “zero evidence” that trade deals outside the EU would provide any economic benefit to Britain.

He blamed a “tidal wave of ideology” for the government’s Brexit approach.

But the government said it was “focused on delivering a Brexit that works for the whole of the UK”. ”

The BBC highlights Brexit as the threat to our car makers.

I would suggest that it is taxation, constant regulation, costs and a distinctly chosen Government policy direction (and one of which the BBC – as LeftLibbie GreenieGlobal Warmers – must approve) to move away from liquid fuel and gas powered cars to electric cars, together with developments in Artificial Intelligence, that threatens the future of the UK car industry.

Seems to be a slight twisting of the facts there to suit a certain BBC narrative.

The battle is still bloody with Remainers slashing away at Brexit with every weapon possible.

I just hope that more and more decent people among the electorate who voted Remain in June 2016 are now much more aware of how vile the EU and its supporters have become and looking increasingly to get the UK away from the EU as completely and as soon as possible.

The impression I get from my remainer friends and acquaintances is that they hypocritically ignore all the EU’s vices. They seem to think it’s vaguely disgusting that UK politicians should actually run the UK, and not enlightened continental types. Everything is marvellous on the continent you see, lovely locals, beautiful weather etc. Sadly they are like brainwashed teenagers rather than grown-up middle-class professionals.

Of course they all support Labour/Green but are presumably in a bind because of Corbyn’s anti-EU position. Then again I seriously doubt that the dilemma has ever even occurred to them, while there’s emoting over Grenfell & outrage over Trump to be done.

The main thing is the virtue-signalling, they’re all terrified of not conforming. Nothing else matters than to be right-on, even if it leads to disaster.

BBC TV is in a quandary. The World Cup is about to start and
there is a severe problem. You see for a month the BBC is going
to show MEN playing football and this is not INCLUSIVE!
Ok we will accept that 80% of BBC news presenters are women.
We will accept that when the England team arrive in Russia a
women reporter will interview them. Because we know that most
of the TV reporters are women. We will then see the reporter
interviewing Russian women to ask what they think about it all.
BUT on the field of play all the players are going to be able
bodied MEN, and this goes on for a month.
Of course we will have women commentators and have the opinions of
some lady footballer. And this is a good thing. But
only MEN will be kicking the ball for a month!
Of course the BBC want to win the women’s audience . Also I
expect Big Brother from the Diversity and Positive Discrimination
department will be giving orders to tell the Sports dept to
make sure that teams such as Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt , Saudi Arabia, Iran
are given adequate exposure. A suggestion could be is to
have one Sunni commentator and one Shia. So when Saudi Arabia or
Iran score they could let their feelings known by screaming out
GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!! I am sure the Londonistan

Was that story about the United States women footballer ever covered on here? I heard it on one Talksport news bulletin then it disappeared.
As I understand, one of their players was told that she was being dropped from two games last year specifically as a result of her refusal to wear a strip that bore rainbow lbgt branding, as a Christian she felt that she couldn’t do this. She subsequently hasn’t been selected since.
Of course the bigger picture, which would never be discussed on the media, is that as footballer who’d climbed to her National Team it’s highly probable (in fact more than likely nailed on) that she’d played, socialised and shared changing rooms with many lesbians in the course of her career. I can’t speak for her but the fact that she kept on playing indicates that she was happy to live and let live. But then the authorities force a socially engineered politicised belief down her throat and she has the backbone to stand up for her beliefs as she’s backed into a corner. Pretty much a microcosm of what happens in the “real” world.

But the sinners are never content, they want us all to be sinners so that they continue doing what they do, without feeling any sense of shame or guilt.

You may be a working class black lesbian northerner who thinks Jeremy Corbyn and his Party are leading us forward to a tolerant land of plenty, on the other hand you may not. You might be a working class, black, lesbian, northerner (or some combination of them) who despises the Left every bit as much as you do, and maybe even more than you.

I mistakenly posted this in the Start The Week Thread, I hope it’s omay that I’ve copied and pasted it here.

I stupidly sat with my wife last night and watched a recording of Who Do You Think You Are featuring ex Coronation Street/current Our Girl actress Michelle Keegan. Something was off that I couldn’t put my finger on and then it clicked, with the exception of an Italian ancestor from the early 1700s iirc, the entire focus was on the females in her ancestral line. She talked of how her grandmother must have been devastated to be evacuated from Gibraltar with her 3 children, no mention of how her grandfather left behind alone without his wife and children on Gibraltar as it became a wartime fortress. Old Pathe style footage was shown off the Gib children and mothers coming to England with the jolly voiceover typical of the time. At which point she said that they were being treated like ( I can’t remember the word she used but it was either immigrants or foreigners). That was absolutely NOT the tone of the piece, these were Spanish speaking, which of course was unusual in 1940, but they were our people and we were happy to help out.
Then she went down her fathers lineage and it turned out that the registrar who recorded her great grandmothers birth was Emeline Pankhurst. “ I know that time , who is it?” She said. The following 3 minute guide to the suffragette movement kindly cleared that up. Predictably no mention of men’s suffrage at this point though, Google it. I genuinely think the bbc must have sent researchers out to see whose birth certificates Emeline Pankhurst signed in her capacity as registrar and then worked forwards until they found one celebrity they could film.
The programme ended with her proudly talking about how she was the woman she was due to all of the strong women in her line. So genetically and spiritually the male lineage of Michelle Keegan isn’t worth a damn eh? BBC diversity in action, don’t you just love it.

It is true that no mention was made of her father’s family (he did not even appear in the programme) and much was made of the fact that she had an ancestor who supported the Suffragettes, and it is true they identified the place in London where her grandmother and great grandmother lived after having been evacuated from Gibraltar during the Second World War, but most of the information about the latter came from an interview with her grandmother’s still living male cousin, accompanied by his grandson, and the heart of the episode was the revelation that a male ancestor from Genoa arrived in Gibraltar aged 13 and ended up a wealthy man.

    “a very Low IQ individual”.
“I watched him last night and truly believe he may be ‘punch-drunk’.

Clearly, the BBC realises Trump’s response was rather good, so cut it short so as to remove the key point that De Niro may well have been brain damaged in his boxing movies. The response from Trump in full:

    “a very low IQ individual”

“received too many shots to the head by real boxers in movies.”

“I watched him last night and truly believe he may be ‘punch-drunk’. I guess he doesn’t realise the economy is the best it’s ever been with employment being at an all time high, and many companies pouring back into our country. Wake up Punchy!”

I don’t know about Oakland specifically, but in many parts of California (Santa Monica, Palm Springs etc), the homeless are treated like an endangered species. There are plenty of shelters for them, where they retire to after they have had their fill of drinking latte in Starbucks during the day. Yes, there will be many genuine cases but being homeless is also a lifestyle choice in much of California – Summer time and the livin’ is easy, that sort of thing.

A man with no shame (probably wouldn’t understand the concept) brazenly elevated in a parliament afflicted by the mind-numbing drug called PC, a much more potent hallucinogenic than LSD. It completely removes common sense and any ethical or moral scruples (to the extent there were any in the first place).
If you catch a dose when you’re already seated on red leather, it gives you a feeling of floating high above the little people, superior and untouchable by reality.
Where the air is less rarified you will spot creatures like the Bercrow, a master raptor, skilled at camouflage and bringing down smaller birds through duplicity. At this altitude, the little people are still no more than specks, but the Bercrow’s screech can be heard even by them. At low levels, it becomes audible as an irritating squawk…

Stew- I think in his case, a great deal of guilt has led to his depression. Step1 to improve his situation, would be to confess his sins. The honest truth. That would help Tony to do likewise.
If they both did that, the nation would have a fuller picture of what they got up to. Nothing we don’t already know, or can’t guess, but the detail would be of interest, especially to some relatives.
Yet another programme on depression probably won’t really help anyone? (Sure bbc has a handsome reward in mind, so it may help someone, in another sense?)
