251 days to Brexit . The holiday season upon us. Schools out which normally means a Silly Season but perhaps that’s been going on a while now. Anyway for those dedicated to evidencing the wrongs of Albeeb here’s a fresh thread.

Remember the Luebeck knife attack that wounded 14? The beeb hope you don’t.
The German authorities were quick to declare him a German citizen, but it transpires there’s more to the story than they like to admit.
For one thing he was originally from Iran. Then there’s the presence of a ‘smoking’ bag containg some inflammable chemical.

So a muslim on a bus with a smoking bag attacks 14 people with a knife, and the authorities are quick to point out that it was not an act of terrorism.
Sure sounds like one to me.
Never forget that Mutti and her gang are terrified that a few more acts of terrorism will push the population over the edge, bring her reign to an end and forever destroy her legacy. She will do anything to prevent that happening.

Yet the BBC declares itself to be impartial.

At least Labour Party donations are optional and not on pain of prison.

That should be interesting. Anyone who sets up shop as a counterweight to Soros deserves a thumbs-up. Will need a lot of cash, though?

There was a Toady interview a few days before the referendum that addressed the number used on the bus and gross v net issue. I can’t remember which Leave spokesman was being interviewed by Humphrys – I was driving round the M25 and had to give some attention to the traffic.

Humphrys pushed the idea that the gross figure was a deliberate lie and if Leave wanted to tell the truth they should have used a total net of the rebate and the EU grants for projects in the UK.

The Leaver asked him what was the basic rate of income tax in the UK. Humphrys said 20%, but the Leave spokeman corrected him; pointing out that using JH’s own logic of deducting monies repaid the true figure was zero, because all the money raised in taxes from the population was then spent on service for the population. The gross figure was 20% but the net figure was zero. Humphrys immediately changed the subject.

        MM, try this: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-eu-referendum-35943216

The ONS, I think, have confirmed the total EU tax (please note, the UK Rebate never comes back to taxpayers here) for 2014 (the year for the £350m pw on the side of the bus) and the BBC’s sums were correct. It is £361m per week or a little bit more. Seem to recall £363m or £367m per week. Whatever. As I have stated many times, the Leave Campaign figure on the bus was broadly correct as a gross figure. It is all there on the EU Commission’s own web-site anyway.

I think one of the problems is that the money for any given year goes to Brussels in tranches but is changed from Sterling to the Euro. Exchange rates vary during the year in question and afterward when other payments are made.

The figure in the 2017 article that you link to is either
        1. incorrect (FakeNews/FalseFacts)
        2. or could be for year 2016. It does seem to suggest the latter.

In that event, the BBC are being either
        1. forgetful,
        2. devious, or,
        3. devious and forgetful.

The BBC are not comparing like with like in that 2017 article, and EU Budget Contributions are not finalised for some time after the event. Certainly, if they are quoting the 2016 EU Tax, it probably will not be totally finalised. That may come later this year. 2014’s EU Tax, I think, was only confirmed early last year. In addition, the Commission MAY call for a supplementary Budget contribution for 2016.

Remember Christmas 2014, I think, when the EU decided ask for more? The UK had been rather good at prostitution and drug smuggling and people trafficking and weapons smuggling and the EU asked for an extra £5bn (I think) because they felt that the effects of those ought to be included in our and some other major EU nations’ GDP calculations on which the EU Tax is based. We were not alone but I cannot remember who else it was (think Belgium and Germany were) and what they had to pay.

Dave and GO were dropped in it by some of our national newspapers getting hold of the story, so they said “We are not having that!” and they sent GO off to Brussels to negotiate to only pay £2.5 or £3bn. Of course, the BBC do not appear to have followed up on that story. I don’t recall with any certainty whether we paid up or did get a discount. Down the memory hole with other stuff, both for me and the BBC. I did try a search of the Beeb’s w-s. Nuffink.

For the BBC it was far too inconvenient to cover if that had got out again as ‘a reminder’ before the EU Referendum.

“Ethiopian ‘prophet’ arrested after trying to resurrect corpse”.

Currently on the top 10 most read, but why does the BBC report this obscure non-event? Because the subtext is that Christianity is just plain weird and deranged. Rather than include a video (readily available elsewhere) which boringly shows some Ethiopian bloke shouting on top of a coffin — their banner image is instead a painting of Christ raising Lazarus from the dead.

Compare and contrast with their probing coverage of other ‘madcap’ japes motivated by other religious scriptures. Other faiths and scriptures that the beeb would have us believe offer entirely rational and life-affirming practices to all.

And which version of the Resurrection of Lazarus did the BBC go with… Giotto’s? Rembrandt’s? Caravaggio’s? Nope, it’s a version in the Mosque Cathedral of Cordoba — also known as the Great Mosque of Córdoba due to a rich and, err… ‘diverse’ history.

Top notch undermining from the beeb.

Sky news are doing their very best to out-BBC the BBC when it comes to fake news and garbage reporting.

Their headline this morning is “Something really nasty is on the rise in America”

    https://news.sky.com/story/sky-views-something-really-nasty-is-on-the-rise-in-america-11444913

It then goes on to list some appalling crimes by white people against black people, including:-

    1) The white man harassing a woman because of her Puerto Rico shirt.
    2) The white man threatening to call Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to report Spanish-speaking employees at a restaurant in New York.
    3) The black family challenged by a white neighbour over the use of their community’s swimming pool.

I think we can all agree these are truly shocking hate crimes, much worse than the mild, inoffensive crimes committed by blacks such as violent robbery and stabbing people to death which Sky seem to have accidently omitted from their report.

Send all white people to prison I say, just for being white.

I also read that in disbelief.

The hatred of the liberal intelligentsia, such as Sky/BBC/Guardian, against indigenous UK people, or the deplorables isn’t mentioned and isn’t in his mind when he talks about growing hate crimes.

Think of how they all these news sources pretended that the white British people had murdered a polish man because of Brexit. This deceit was continued by these ‘news’ organisations for a year before quietly slipping under the radar when the court case revealed the truth.

The hatred and contempt against Trump, or indeed any party with which the liberal media do not agree, is appalling. It maybe harming democracy.

The liberal elite is in shock as the world turns on them. Not just in the US under trump, but all over Europe too. I honestly don’t think they understand what is happening, hence they shout about the stupid, ‘the right’ and hatred.

Greg Milam makes the mistake of thinking that questioning mindless, unvetted immigration is hateful. The Muslim who planted the Parsons Green bomb was invited into this country as a child asylum seeker. Clearly, he is anything other than a child. He told the panel overseeing his application that, it was his “duty to hate Britain”, that he had been “trained to kill”, that his training “was all religious based” and included weeks spent in in an ISIS camp teaching him how to murder unbelievers.

Greg, it is not wrong to question whether people like the Parson Green bomber should be allowed into the country. It is common sense and shows concern for the safety and well being of our citizens – including Sky journalists.

I’m sure in times gone by the application form for employment in the civil service asked if the applicant was a communist, or a member of the communist party. I also thought they carried out background checks of potential employees, certainly for higher levels. So how did a known communist get through the selection process, and how was he appointed to such a prominent position in the government? Are communists now welcome into positions of power? Or is it more sinister than lax vetting policies?

An uplifting story in the Times this morning about the BBC viewing figures. Apparently since 2010 there has been a drop of 30% plus in the amount of time that people under 55 watch the BBC. In the under 35 age group it’s even higher. Only in the over 65’s is there an increase in viewing.
I assume that this reduction in BBC viewers will in some way translate into fewer people paying the LF . Also over 75’s don’t pay the LF and so even as people live longer the BBC gets no increase in income.
Of course the BBC response will eventually be to demand an increase in the LF or a subsidy for the ‘ vital’ service they provide. But slowly but surely the country is being weaned off Auntie.
Now is the time for the political centre right to launch news provision across the spectrum of outlets and to resist all forms of internet censorship.

If women wrote things as wonderful as this adagio, I would be delighted, but I haven’t heard any. Actually I don’t care what gender a composer is (maxy note I used the correct word for snowflakes and didn’t say ‘sex’) as long as the music is great. Just like a composer it doesn’t matter what the skin colour is of a famous scientist. But in this PC gone mad world pharmaceutical companies will start employing their BAME quota of scientists regardless of their ability to do science. Likewise the BBC Proms will become an instant switch off as they start finding transgender lesbian composers.

Apparently – according the the BBC interviewer – the dispute is between UKTV and Virgin. It was quietly pointed out that the BBC are a part owner of UKTV then that never got mentioned again.

UKTV have withdrawn 10 channels from Virgin ( free to air channels) and want money for them – What wasn’t explained is that it is the BBC who are demanding the money and placing the restrictions- the other party who own UKTV (Discovery) are not…
Now in my mind all Virgin customers pay a TV licence – so why shouldn’t they get free channels that the BBC own and are free to air anyway?

It is so infuriating. You get the gist of the story via the BBC but have to go elsewhere to discover the facts.

Throughout all their whining about being underpaid they never mentioned how spectacularly bad at their jobs they are. The regional ‘news’ is generally a prolonged story about something fluffy which fits their agenda; anything that fits their narrow, alt-Left world is milked and ramped up to eleven – with multiple interviews, emotional pulls etc – whilst anything else is downplayed or memory holed. A news organisation should not be allowed to just down tools and stop reporting reality as it might ‘offend’ someone.

It would be so great if Marr finished his interview with Gemma Arteton by telling her to get her tits out.

Its a ‘trade deal’ that this country should be negotiating with the EU, nothing else. That’s the point, they want political/legal/ideological compliance but we only want trade. When the vote came in as ‘leave’, the government should have set out negotiating with other countries and trading blocs including the EU, for trade, nothing else. That’s 2 years down the toilet. They have let the country down and should get the boot.

The government hasn’t even started preliminary trade talks with any country.
We have no trade deal negotiators of our own ,as we rely on the EUs , and no job adverts for trainees have appeared..
So I guess after ‘Brexit’ we will continue to let the EU negotiate the trade deals , for say Australian dairy, and we will get our % allocated .

The news headline “It’s believed they have a tape Cohen made talking to Trump about a playboy model” is just PR for Democrats
and advert paid for by the money Team Hillary put into the BBC.

It only becomes news if they play the flippin tape, otherwise it’s just speculation. It’s the non-existent peegate tape again.

The truth behind it may cover a range of possible circumstances eg Trump wanted to pay off a malicious person who falsely claimed she’d slept with him
or he had had sex with her in reality etc. etc.
However none of them are seriously illegal; it’s not like he raped her etc.
‘Oh but the payoff was an undeclared election expense’
doh doesn’t really matter $100K or something in a billion dollar election.
Oh Trump, years ago you had a reputation as a playboy , now it seems that you might have had an extra-marital affair ‘
..So what didn’t he have an affair with his second wife whilst married to the first ?

lecy bills : FIT overspend by Paul Homewood
    https://notalotofpeopleknowthat.wordpress.com/2018/07/22/fit-scheme-costs-balloon-to-1-6bn/
FIT = special high Feed In Tariffs to support renewableslike wind/solar built by rich people
Generally about 2.5 times the wholesale cost of conventional power
    Government 2020 target was £440m = £16 per household/year
Been bit of an over allocation so
    Now projected 2020 to be £1600m = £59 per household/year

But that’s not all there are other green taxes
So £13.9bn a year by 2022-23 for overall Environmental Levies and RHI costs

27.2 millions households in the UK
    £13900 million/27.2mn = £511 per household/year

My response is that if the complainers are Christians, then they know it’s sinful. If they aren’t Christian, what do they care what the Bible teaches. So, why do these people get their knickers in a twist about what Jesus Christ teaches? Can it be that deep down they know they are sinners and salvation only comes through Jesus Christ but it’s too painful for them to acknowledge the truth?

Haven’t had much exposure to al beeb today – except for a painfully biased piece on the Sunday news which was themed on a second brexit vote. I’ve seen that the Sunday lefty papers ( as I all newspapers now as far as I am concerned ) are airing the idea of article 50 being suspended or put back.

250 days to brexit and the soros remainer machine is still pushing out news] threats . I suppose the weekly shortage of this and that because of brexit will really get going soon … and the upcoming “ is this the last Christmas “ nonsense as WTO trading means the end of the world as we know it.

I like the lie about Uk citizens needing a permit in the EU to drive . I dread to think how many millions? Of EU citizens with EU licences will be taken of the road as a result in the UK.

If they provided a valid point of view, certainly not one I agreed with, I took no action. God knows how much we badly need alternative views on this site.
I would however be strong in protecting new posters from the likes of maxicony. I failed to do so once and I feel we lost a very good poster because of it. felt very bad about and emailed the poster and told him so.

I have recently considered leaving the site for a while as I feel it is fast becoming an echo chamber.
This site needs alternative arguments without any recourse to abuse.

Thank you for consulting us FedUp. I have to be careful here as I was attacked by an obnoxious character on this site who called me Maxi’s bum boy for objecting to a one of his calls for the murder of an individual. As I had posted quite a few criticisms of maxi from the first time he came on I found this hilarious. I have also been called a Lib Dem, a Russian Troll and various other insults.( I did not report any of them)
Anyway, despite this I want to come to Maxi’s defence here.
I think he is a small price to pay and in some ways keeps us on our toes. It pays to know the weaknesses in our arguments or sometimes the weakness in the way we express them. I have said before that he is like a crocodile waiting in the creek for the careless and foolish to make a slip. A lot of the time he does twist words and quote things out of context but I see that as good political training for us as we can get too complacent talking among ourselves. And it is such sport refuting him! So unless he really steps out of line I would not go for a ban.
However, he did make uncalled for and repeated attacks on Alan and it may be he will try it on you Fedup as you are the chief now. So if you think he’s doing that you would be right to take him off.

      Anyway thems me thoughts.

There is only limited time and unlimited issues that might concern people or people who have something to say. Even with the best of intentions it impossible for any broadcaster to truly be balanced, and of course they do not have good intentions.

The boom was pre-Crash and a bit after but despite property values still being below 2007, it has a flat popn. level.

The Lakes and the Cumbrian coast may also help account for the decline.

    Hello again!
Isn’t it strange how selective the BBC is with the news it publishes, or the slant they put on it?
Were they asleep when this one surfaced:
    http://www.cityam.com/289730/no-terminal-damage-city-because-brexit-says-barclays-boss

    They did however report:

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-44950414

    But, forgot to mention:

    http://www.cityam.com/289712/ireland-would-absolutely-back-extending-brexit-talks-avoid

There is no mention of any of this on their front page, but they’re still happy to keep this one going:

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-44946930/arron-banks-paid-a-lesotho-minister-thousands-of-pounds

Now, CityA.M. doesn’t receive taxpayers cash via involuntary licence fees, but it manages to pull these articles together somehow.

Don’t care whether you’re pro or anti Brexit, labour or conservative, but how come our national broadcaster is so biased that the phrase ‘even handedness’ seems to elude them.

    Oh, they also published this:

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-44937492?intlink_from_url=https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/business-44923127&link_location=live-reporting-story

But it’s been so hidden that it is virtually impossible to find! Note the final sentence: “Whether you are on the UK side, or the Irish side, or the remain side, or the leave side… I don’t see anybody that wins from the suspension of air services.”
