“May off to Munich again, I expect.” That’s via Morroco I guess to put her signature to the final UN Migration Compact document. Look forward to Treason May returning from the round trip claiming we will stop Free Movement from EU (what the people want) but omitting to mention the 258,000,000 million of ‘migrants’ who could, with the help and finance of the UN, decide to move to the UK – henceforth.

This might be too early because we haven’t yet left the EU but my question is what advice would you give to the next EU member that decides to Leave ( assuming the EU thugs don’t remove Article 50 from the treaty).
Mine would be: don’t bother with any serious negotiations with the EU and spend the two year mandatory period of Article 50 preparing for a WTO exit. Use the time to anticipate and counter all the dirty tricks that the EU thugs will use against you, identify and neutralise the fifth columnists in the midst and make an example of their ringleaders to clarify the minds of the rest of them. Keep your nerve and wait out the two years.

j-i-c, quite right. You would have thought that that is what we would have done.

Interestingly, on R4’s TWTW with the odious Mark Mardell down in Portsmouth, someone let slip that Brexit preparations were being frustrated by Civil Servants in the Dept for Transport.

When we get out (and more so, if we do not) we will need to have a Judicial Inquiry into our Civil Service.

There was someone marching with a gallows and noose, that’s correct. But so what, they weren’t shouting that they want to hang someone; I watched it on RT and saw it as part of the pageantry of peaceful protest.

It’s not as though the guy holding it had his face covered and was also holding an antifa flag. But the fake news creators will pounce on that and turn it into something wicked, as they always do; don’t you, far-left bbc?

In 2000 I took family to London and on one of the days, as we left the Imperial War Museum, there happened to be a parade of invaders, hundreds of them, streaming past and chanting such things as Death to America and Death to Israel. And other such pleasantries. I didn’t check at the time but I doubt if the far-left bbc reported on it and, further, condemned the invaders inflammatory words.

I’m not sure if this has already been covered, apologies if so. In the Ztimes yesterday Rod Liddle wrote a fierce denunciation of the BBC using Dr Who as the vehicle to attack the overweening liberal left , we know best , attitude of the corporation. I haven’t watched the programme for several decades but apparently they now send the Time Lords to intervene on Rosa Park’s behalf on her bus in the Deep South and to India during the partition. All completely PC of course and accompanied with the usual preaching to the gullible .
The response to his article was overwhelmingly supportive with almost no support for the BBC. There were also many posts and comments suggesting and supporting a License Fee strike. It does seem to me that with the now highly likely BRINO there is going to be an awful lot of anger in the country against a Remain and of course the BBC has been the Remain propaganda arm ever since the referendum. This anger can be channeled into. Widespread LF strike and if enough people take part, a million or more, the BBC and the Government would be powerless to stop it. A few months of it should see the overmighty corporation brought to its knees , or to use a favourite Remainer phrase when talking about a Leavers, brought to heel.
The big question is how do we start a strike and how do we gain momentum and develop it nationwide?

Great example of bias here. Whenever I open my Google interent explorer on my phone, I get a selection of suggested headlines that I might want to peruse.

They are always from the BBC or The Guardian, two websites that I do not and do not wish to peruse.

There is a search help button to which I regularly send a message saying ‘stop pushing your agenda’ but it really is a staggeringly clear example of Google pushing their englightened bullshit bias.

Payne, I had that problem some time ago, and went on here to ask how to deal with it.

On some good advice, I fiddled around with settings in all sorts of hidden places, and somehow, it seems to work now, such that I only get a couple of bbc items and hardly ever a Guardian one, which is very gratifying of course!

But I’m sorry to say that as Google has changed its style and presentation so many times, and now pronounces that “For you,
Recommended based on your interests”, they must be tracking my site visits more than I thought! The Guardian drivelling site was impossible to eradicate back then, but it seems to have worked now! I get a lot of Daily Mail, which I now largely ignore as it’s a shadow of its former self, The Express and luckily, quite a lot of decent rock music stuff, because Pink Floyd is often a subject of choice!

It’s worth ferreting around in ‘settings’, and see how you get on.

What bargaining are you doing when you’ve sold out and granted the other side exactly what they want?

Payne- we are all the victims of a monstrous deception:
          1) Once the referendum was held (direct democracy), there was NO way parliament should have been brought back into the picture (representative democracy); the whole point of an exercise in direct democracy is precisely to take it out of the hands of your ‘representatives’! (Cos they’re gonna do exactly what we see them doing now)
          2) The task of the Executive (cabinet) is then to present the outcome of this exercise to the EU and say immediately “Goodbye, we’re leaving, our people have decided”. Teams can then be sent in to deal with the practical details. The minute you start ‘negotiating’ for ‘a deal’, you’ve admitted your sovereignty depends -NOT on the people- but on EU goodwill.
          3) The very LAST thing you do, is to hand your No1 top project you have had since WW2 to someone who is OPPOSED to that very project. You have just sent the EU a message, and they will have loved receiving it. (Wink, wink chaps)
          4) The media will love it too: lots of exciting Brexit twists and turns to keep everyone entertained for years. Journalists like Laura K will be the stars of the show, night in, night out. And people say there’s no such thing as a free lunch!

Footnote: this lovely farce can be kept going indefinitely: you could have a second referendum, and even call THAT a ‘people’s vote’ (when it is the exact opposite- a people’s nullifying vote). Or a third…The beeb certainly won’t enlighten you…

    Of course they can.

How hard is it to understand?

A Remainer MP – one who has scant regard for public opinion – does not like the proposed deal because he wishes to remain in the EU and dislikes Referendums.

A Brexiteer MP – one who respects the public’s decision – does not like the proposed deal because she wishes, like a majority of the UK, to leave the EU and the PM’s deal does not provide for that full departure.

I remain convinced that Sunderland is a leave city.

I suppose it’s like asking people on here if they want to leave or remain. You would get north of 90% to leave. Then an mp could say “in a recent poll 90+% now want to leave”

The mp concerned is Bridget Phillipson and she is my mp (I didn’t vote for her, I voted UKIP)

Another great post in The Times. Yesterday Rod Liddle, today Melanie Phillips.

It’s good that many commentators are now shining a light on the corrupt Far Left broadcaster. Each day we here more and more of their bias and filtering of the delivering of the news. Let’s hope they are a step closer to having their license revoked for bias. For sure they are the enemy within our great nation and are hellbent on destroying us:

BBC led the way in writing off no-deal Brexit

    Melanie Phillips

The centrist establishment still can’t grasp that those who voted Leave will not be cheated

The current agony over Brexit, which deepened still further today, is based on one simple proposition. The law states that on March 29, 2019 the UK will leave the EU.

If the terms of separation aren’t agreed, the country must therefore leave with no deal. Most MPs, however, refuse to countenance this. So they are indulging in fantasies. One is that the EU may soften its position on the Ireland backstop. If so, they say, they would support Theresa May’s deal. Really? What about the rotten rest of it?

Last Friday, the former head of MI6 Sir Richard Dearlove and the commander of British forces in the Falklands War, Major-General Julian Thompson, published a devastating critique. The deal, they said, “surrenders British national security by subordinating UK defence forces to military EU control”. It would undermine membership of Nato, the defence and intelligence relationship with the US and the Five Eyes intelligence alliance. The two also supported leaving with no deal. “World Trade rules are to be welcomed, and there is nothing to fear in this”.

This was part of a point-by-point rebuttal of the reprimand they had previously received from No 10 after they joined other eminent signatories in a letter denouncing the deal. As Sir Richard remarked, this was the first time ever that No 10 had publicly criticised a former “C”. A big story that one might expect to lead the news bulletins? The BBC ignored it.

Shocking – but not surprising. For the Dearlove/Thompson analysis demonstrates that the case for no-deal can hardly be written off as the province of cranks and extremists, a view the BBC sedulously promotes.

In The Noble Liar, a new book about the BBC’s leftwing groupthink, Robin Aitken, a former BBC journalist, devotes a whole chapter to its bias over Brexit. During the Brexit negotiations, he writes, although the EU was the main obstacle to progress, BBC journalists respectfully presented the claims by EU apologists as reasonable and true. The attack-dog treatment was reserved for British ministers (plus, I would add, Brexiteers in general).

Aitken ascribes this to the BBC’s abiding love affair with the EU, rooted in the corporation’s innate internationalism. Over the years, he writes, the BBC has framed the European issue almost exclusively in economic terms and the impossibility of the UK prospering outside the EU. So it had little interest in the most important objection to membership: the challenge to Britain’s sovereign independence.

The problem is that, along with others subscribing to the same groupthink, the BBC believes it reflects accepted wisdom, otherwise known as the “centre ground”. Anyone who challenges this by supporting no-deal is therefore by definition an extremist.

Yet in addition to Dearlove and Thompson, such supporters include the former Chancellor of the Exchequer Lord Lawson, the former Ulster Unionist leader Lord Trimble, members of Economists for Free Trade and a range of academics and business people. They are nevertheless written off as marginal, because the belief that no-deal is so obviously worse than any alternative is deemed incontestable.
This error is rooted in the refusal to acknowledge that people voted to leave principally in order to regain the power of self-government as an independent nation. And on that, no compromise is possible.

Here and there, though, a dim light seems to be dawning. Both Sajid Javid and Jeremy Hunt, who fancy themselves as prime minister, have been signalling that although they voted Remain they would consider a “managed no-deal”. Other Remainers just can’t understand why, having been told no-deal means apocalypse now, Brexiteers are still stubbornly standing firm.

This merely reflects what is displayed by so many Remainers in the political and intellectual classes: a deep, visceral contempt for the people. Resentment against that arrogance helped produce the referendum result and it’s why so many Brexiteers are currently having the iron forged into their soul.

For they can see Remainer MPs and the EU in open alliance to thwart Britain’s democratically expressed wish to leave — a prospective reversal so thoughtfully assisted by the European Court of Justice ruling the day before the expected “meaningful” vote that the UK can withdraw Article 50.

They also see that, in the attempt to overturn the decision they themselves handed the people, MPs are fabricating yet another fiction. Dominic Grieve and Hilary Benn, for example, are each attempting to give MPs the power to block Brexit on the grounds that parliament is sovereign.

As the distinguished historian Professor Robert Tombs has protested, this is nothing other than an unconstitutional power grab. “Parliament after all is sovereign in the making of laws,” he says, “but it is not sovereign against the will of the people.” It should never say “something you have voted for we will not do”.

Unlike the French, thankfully, the British don’t go in for political violence. Their anger, however, now threatens to undo the compact inherent in representative democracy between governing class and governed. The 17th-century civil war was about parliament against the crown. We are now facing the prospect of parliament against the people. If MPs don’t enable the UK to leave the EU next March, they risk provoking a constitutional crisis the likes of which this country has never seen.

Excellent piece Heyho but do we really think it would provoke a constitutional crisis? Do we really think that, that many people will be motivated to protest, complain or kick off?

I mean even if the deceitful, guttersnipe Tories got hammered at the next election for their spineless treachery, would any journalist or media of any weight put together the loss to public anger over Brexit?

      Of course not.

It would be dismissed, ignored and papered over. It would be because of Grenfell or because of her dancing. No one will be ‘kicking off’ and the ‘victory’ for giving the finger to the Tories is consigning the UK to being ruled by the dribbling morons in the Labour party.

The establishment wins again, the Beeb wins again and this country goes down the shitter. And to be honest, I’m beyond caring about the future of the country and the damage that Labour will bring to us. We deserve it for letting this happen.

Apart from UKIP, no one is really standing up for the country and hence it, along with the ridiculous idea that we were a democracy, can go to hell.

Brexiteers have jobs and responsibilities and they can’t be sacrificed and / endangered by being called racists and xenophobes if they were to protest.

I know it’s dramatic to claim that it’s over but it certainly feels like the bells are beginning to toll for us.

To a large extent, playing an instrument is a matter of overcoming technical difficulties so, by and large, classical musicians just tend to get on with it. Pity actors don’t do the same. Parroting a script for a living doesn’t mean that your own ramblings are equally compelling.

And look, even the BBCSO expects to be able to cope with Brexit.

Anyone see the Brexit debate on channel 4 last night.

How very unusual that of all the people in the audience to choose from, the final word just happened to go to a man who said he originally voted leave but now would definitely vote remain having changed his mind.
What are the chances of that.

\\ The BBC is at it again – this time using an episode of its – often excellent and informative – technology programme “Click” to broadcast its global warming propaganda.
    See: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/n3ct4dzd
Then click on today’s (Dec 8) episode.
    Gems include:
    – a completely biased scientist earnestly telling us the end of world is nigh; and
    – an article on solar panels out at sea in Norway supposedly designed to give a fish farm power. The presenter had to admit that, for much of the time, it had to be powered by diesel, but it was great nevertheless! She missed the point that the high-tech membrane that she was standing on was almost certainly made from hydrocarbons and indeed had to be transported a long way there by fossil fuels but go hum!
It is such a shame to see a genuine science programme abused for political purposes in this way.

They also took the time to show derision for Trump, with the clear implication that if you were sceptical about climate change too, you’d have to be as moronic as The Donald.
Q Why has belittling Trump got any relevance to a programme about advances in technology? I’m sure the BBC will tell us. //

Ah well, at least we still have Ms May about, locally. And she’s dressed in blue, with a lot of balls about her neck. No symbolism there, either.
At least with her in parliament, no one will notice she has signed the ‘migrant pact’?
    On behalf of us all.

Of course, Brexit is now at fever pitch, so we have all forgotten the UN even exists. And Morocco is such along way away…

Cannot help but wonder what the word to the PM was from the Whips. A loss by 250 votes? I wonder if a Brexiteer Labour Whip or a Remainer Labour Whip ‘leaked’ the potential Labour Ayes & Noes to the Tory Whips.

Probably 50-90 could have been weathered.

A loss by 100-200 might have had the letters going in to the 1922 Committee.

250 or 250+ would have presented a collection of problems and challenges from without and within.

At least the delay means that a No Deal Brexit edges just a little closer.

Just clutching at straws. 🙂 Nighty night all. Sweet Brexit dreams.

Two and a half years of procrastination by Mrs Chamberlain to allow Al Beeb’s propaganda to take effect .
Who controls Mrs Chamberlain – Parliament or the EU?
What will history make of this ?
The only way out now is for the Tory Party to ‘grow some’ or all those interested in freedom and independence is to vote and support UKIP.
We voted out nothing more, nothing less and nothing about any deal . The ‘deal’ was an invention of the Remainers.
Not carrying out the democratic decision of the people is storing trouble for the future. Just look at the rest of Europe , would any nation vote to join it now?

I’ve just watched on catch-up ‘The Real Brexit Debate’ broadcast on Sunday by Channel4.

(I did apply to be an audience member the day before but had no response from Channel4. Slightly annoying as I had entrusted them with my personal details).

Rees-Mogg was one of four on the panel. The others were Caroline Lucas (Lib), James Claverley (May supporting Tory) and Barry Gardiner (Lab). Even balance for once?

I’ll summarise the 50 minutes as follows:-

Rees-Mogg didn’t have a chance to speak until over ten minutes had passed. Most of the air time was granted to the May supporting Tory.

Mogg was allowed to speak again briefly after thirteen minutes.

Lucas made a comment that Brexit was voted for by the Right for the Right. This received big applause from the audience.

After eighteen minutes, Mogg was allowed to speak for ten seconds.

Lucas responded by saying that Brexit had sold out for young people and that freedom of movement is wonderful, to love and to study.

After twenty-two minutes, Mogg was allowed ten seconds to speak.

After the adverts, Mogg was allowed about forty seconds airtime to put his view. He spoke of the importance of trust and that the voters had entrusted Parliament to deliver Brexit. He spoke of the term hard-Brexit that was never related to hard-Remain by the media. He referred also to the stunningly arrogant Government response to Brexit.

In essence, Mogg was regarded as a nuisance. But he hit home with well placed broadsides when the opportunity arose. Nelson would have been proud.

I wish that I had been there.

Japan must be pleased that it took the “virtually no immigrants” line years ago, “racist” or not. It will be the winner in the long term.

Imho, MPs always knew that there would be no agreement (among themselves because they are mostly Remainers) on any sort of Brexit and May, as somebody has said here a few weeks ago, “has played a blinder” to secure a no- deal outcome. The strategy of ‘kicking the ball down the road’ is deliberate and effective.

The fallout from the shambles could be that politics with never be the same in UK again (leave out Northern Ireland) and we are heading for the emergence of a strong Populist movement.

The #BiasedBBC part of this is that Populism is a ‘dirty’ word in their twisted view of reality

‘People felt entitled to touch my body’

British Olympian Anyika Onuora says she used to wear baggy clothes to hide her body because people “felt entitled to touch it”. The 34-year-old, who won 4x400m relay bronze at Rio 2016, struggled with body image confidence as a youngster having gone to a predominantly white school. As an athlete, she was often told she was “fat” because her body was naturally bigger than those of many peers.

“At times you would feel objectified,” says Onuora, who has Nigerian parents. “I had an adult body at such a young age – I had hips, quite a big backside, and I didn’t know what to do with it or how to feel about it.”

    ***

Did she write in, or did the bbc call her up and ask?

And as to not knowing what to do with a big backside….

I caught about 10 minutes of Mantis on Newsnight last night. This woman has no redeeming features at all, neither physically, despite what some of on here maintain, nor mentally, and seems oblivious to the fact that no-one gives a shit about her opinion or her programme, it is now irrelevant. The group of guests last night, Jonathan Meades, a French female journalist and a New Statesman editor spouted unadulterated bullshit as Suzanne Evans, the lone Brexiteer yet again, listened on increasingly increduously. Smug, arrogant, conflictingly insular and detached, this programme, it’s presenter and the vast majority of its guests serve no constructive purpose, contribute nothing of benefit or value to anyone outside their intellectual cell and are actively attempting to undermine and destroy any aspect of British society and culture that does not adhere to their doctrine.

I reported a few days ago that I heard Prof. Curtis of Strathclyde Uni, (yes, the dishevelled one looking like a part-tramp) state that so far as his pollstering outfit is concerned, nothing’s changed from the first Ref. Numbers are about the same. He’s probably the only one that is anywhere close enough to what people think. The BBC certainly think so: he’s not been broadcast since, perhaps his fatal projection, some months ago.

If another referendum is called, the danger is that the devious, dishonest, disingenuous, liar that is Treason May would push for only two questions:
      My deal; or,
      Remain.
Certainly not the one most here including me, would want:

“You broke the law” Humphrys tells Ruth Potts on R4, who with others, chained herself to the wheels of an aircraft, after breaking into Stansted Airport. Of course, the real context of this statement is the Beeb, giving voice to people found guilty of a criminal offence, in line with terrorism.
That aircraft was due to take deportees, who failed in their asylum applications, back to West Africa.
Potts comes up with the same old story: selected deportees ‘might have been in danger’ back home, eg their lesbian activities may have displeased hubby, etc This sort of group feels it has the right to do whatever it likes in disregarding the law, even endanger civilian flights, as long as it has a mind to do so.
And, despite Humphry’s words, one gets the impression that the beeb is building up a campaign of support for them through national media exposure, the first step in that effort – -‘stern words’ notwithstanding. They are the beeb’s ‘cover’, which will show that they’re doing ‘nothing wrong’.
In reality, this is the sort of ‘touchy, feely’ virtue-signalling campaign that will appeal to it, and we are seeing the beginning of eager participation in the cause by radio4.

Apologies, Up2 – hadn’t read your contribution. We both picked up on the same thing: the beeb’s flexible attitude to lawbreaking…
