First? With regard to a the death of an alleged comedian. I am awaiting his funeral notice to discover where his grave is. I have dusted off my dancing shoes, and polished them, awaiting their tango.
May I join you after all it takes two to tango, could turn out to be a party to end all parties. As in the style of Polly Toynbee one less lefty and remainiac.
My name is Snuffy and I confess that I am a News Quiz addict. (I blame it on the late Alan Coren, by the way.)
I have been quite good recently, switching off during the first rant by Andy Hamilton or the sound of Susan Calman being morose or at the first obviously scripted & memorised lines.
I have to confess that today I slipped back.
I left the radio on after catching the 6.30pm headlines. I listened to almost a whole programme. I drank it down and even managed to enjoy a few jokes. I didn’t laugh out loud at all. I just managed to catch myself before the end of the half hour, I switched off during an archive piece by the late Jeremy Hardy. I am deeply ashamed at my addiction but more ashamed that I have let everyone down, my family, my friends, everyone here down, by knowing who Jeremy Hardy is.
Excellent point, NCBBC. Sometimes I muse on the subject of Hell but really prefer to contemplate Heaven.
On the other hand I cannot help but wonder whether Hell will be living eternally with many others with no-remaking in God’s image and nature, and thus being subject to all the passions, lusts, desires and hates of this life, magnified even more AND never, ever, being satisfied. The scramble to satisfy ‘self’ will be all consuming in Hell – the burning – and there will never be any satisfaction or fulfilment, just even more burning. And you will be subject to all that the others with you have, all their passions, lusts, desires and hatreds.
At which point I shudder and remind myself of Heaven and that for the ‘bought back’ (ie. the redeemed) God is a God of mercy and grace and liberator from the Law of sin and death.
Cry freedom! đ
The great King David wrote these words:
‘One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.’ [Psalm 27]
and it would not surprise me at all if he had more than half an eye on life beyond the grave at the time of writing.
Up2nuff: God is a God of mercy and grace and liberator from the Law of sin and death.
That is very thought provoking.
This is the image that sustains me . That God is infinite in his mercy and love for us, i.e., Grace. I believe too Christ’s sacrifice does not carry a time and place restriction.
My Obituary to the BBC intellectual, Jeremy Hardy:
Hardy was born in Aldershot, Hampshire, son of the rocket scientist Donald D. Hardy. Like all BBC types he was driven into left-wing politics by the fact that he was less intelligent than his parents and siblings, so he studied modern history and politics at the University of Southampton, but was not even up to the standards needed to obtain a place on a journalism course, and therefore considered becoming an actor or poet, ending up as a fake-working-class left-wing comedian on the BBC.
Jeremy expressed his political opinions on his own program on the BBC called âJeremy Hardy Speaks to the Nationâ were he expressed the same anti-Semitic opinions about Jews as the BBC and the current leader of the Labour Party, Jeremy Corbyn, who on Hardy’s death, called him his “dear, lifelong friendâ. Hardy also spoke to the nation on behalf of the BBC by saying âMargaret Thatcher is one of history’s great monsters, a kind of slow-motion Stalin whose ideological extremism plunged Britain into decades of declineâ But most of Jeremyâs sayings where harmless emotional ramblings that were neither funny nor intellectually coherent, but would sound intelligent to those working at W1A. Such as his opinion on left-wing opposition to the wonderful capitalist bureaucrats in Brussels. âThe left case for Brexit was an interesting exercise, a bit like a Marxist review of The Very Hungry Caterpillar or one of those games where you work out whether it would be better to have no arms or no legsâ. So according to Hardy, Brexit is a choice between âno armsâ or âno legsâ?
He also starred in a film called âJeremy Hardy versus the Israeli Armyâ expressing the same opinions as would exist in films such as Nazis, Islam, Palestine or the BBC, versus the Israeli Army.
“Hardy also spoke to the nation on behalf of the BBC by saying âMargaret Thatcher is one of historyâs great monsters, a kind of slow-motion Stalin whose ideological extremism plunged Britain into decades of declineâ
Isn’t it strange how this unknown comedian and the BBC see things and people in exactly the same way! And according to the last 2 years both broadcast never ending anti-Semitic hatred!.
Yes may he be long dead …. the luvvie â funniesâ have lined up to say nice things about this turd . As expected – this is a wide choice of lefty with the same words . Thankfully forgotten by Sunday . Margaret Thatcher wonât be- as Iâm sure any an Eastern European will testify .
Just a shame Maggie couldnât have squared away the BBC evil monster
My mother always taught me that if you canât find anything good to say about someone say nothing. I abandoned her teachings some time ago . But even if I still practised what she taught me I would be forced by my conscience to make an exception in the case of this BBC POS. He was the ignorant c**t who invited people to use Lady Thatcherâs grave as a urinal. I would advise his family to order cremation and then scatter his ashes out at sea so as to remove temptation from so many of us.
I would dearly love the bbc to be required to justify the claims being made on his behalf. But presumably the process of having him elevated to the status of a Laurel or Williams would be yet another bbc-exempted secret.
Captain – congratulations – as a reward – why not have a ÂŁ4 increase on your TV licence Tax – otherwise known as the Gary Linaker PLC retirement fund ….
Fedup2. Regrettably, along with Old Goat, I am resident in France. I am awaiting Capita arriving up a 900 meter mountain in an effort to question me about the lack of a UK TV Licence. I suggest they wear thermal clothing though.
Captain ,
Perhaps when Blighty leaves the ReichEU you can send us emergency food parcels . There wonât be an economy because all the businesses will have left so we ll have a barter system in place ….
Yes, Fed, business will leave. How do I know? MSN told me. They are obviously in some sort of Scarey Headline Contest with the BBC. Apparently, the bidding is now up to ‘One-third of all British businesses will leave the UK after Brexit.’.
It gets dafter by the day.
Beat that, BBC. “Do I hear One-half? Who will bid One-half? It’s at One-third on the network. Do I hear Two-fifths, then?”
I’m thinking of employing Elephants to get my stuff over the mountains of the Lancashire, Yorkshire border instead of trucks. It worries me when my enemies tell me we shall all have to unpack our animals to check for escaping white people who on arrest say they cannot tolerate a country were 90% of the UK MPs are Black and Muslim. and the other 10% are snowflakes in the making!
DS I agree, however I sat with a 9 & 10 year old the other day who were rolling about with laughter at Dadâs Army and love Faulty Towers and only Fools and Horses. Just goes to show that old fashioned British humor never goes out of fashion. Silly old progressive bBC. They were watching on IPads, and also never watch tv.
My grandson and a couple of his friends love the Goon Show on CDs . Always on on car journeys . At least 60 plus years old now.. He likes the corny jokes , the daft catch phrases and the silliness of it. Eccles is a a particular favourite . Small boys know what is truly funny. We were watching a bit of Python on U Tube and he said that he could see where they got their ideas from.
Today’s commedians have a lot to learn .
If this is true, then I may be forced to descend about 700 meters, put my Gillette Jaunes on, and join in with the protests. Mind you, Mrs Captain has already booked a floor in London for protests against the failure to leave the EU, so if anyone wants to look after two cats in France, meals included, let us know.
On the BBC sport website, the only Have Your Say is for the womenâs international rugby.
The attendance at the match rivals a Vanarama football match.
The HYS has gained 16 posts in over an hour.
A sport where the number of public interested is exceeded by the numbers of BBC feminist- equality fascists.
Yours for only ÂŁ4bn.
Mrs O’Blene played and taught Lacrosse, and informs me that women’s rugby is like tiddleywinks compared with a real Gal’s game!
And I’m also a great admirer of a lady chum, who was a Scottish Lacrosse international, but she now supports Arsenal FC, so I may have to take her to one side one day and ask for a revision of my wedding vows..;0)
Mrs O’Blene will not be happy I can assure you, but a bloke needs to recall his roots, that’s if my (lady) hairdresser can find any…
At regular intervals the BBC find someone, usually a Yooni Prof, to come on Radio 4 and tell me that food is too cheap and that prices need to go up. Occasionally it is a daft farmer who isn’t finding life tough enough already and wants to make even less money.
As someone with a vague memory of the cost of food when I was sent off to the shops as a ten-year old to buy some carrots or a pound (pre-31.12.73!) of potatoes as well as the awful years during the 1970s and 1980s when inflation was rampant, I usually end up shouting at the radio: “No, it is not!”.
“”Birmingham burglar who had sex with corpse jailed””
“”Kasim Khuram, 23, had sex with a woman’s body after lifting the lids of coffins at the Co-Operative undertakers in Walsall Road, Great Barr, Birmingham, on 11 November.””
Al beeb are trying to bury (forgive the pun) the story under Regions.
But given that the depraved perpetrator is making legal history (the judge said “I am not aware of – and nor have I been able to find – any similar case”) I believe Kasim Khuram should receive the publicity he deserves.
Iâm surprised the house of expenses hasnât legalised marriage between the living and the dead by now . Equal rights for the dead thatâs what I say ….
This comment was triggered by Yesterday In Parliament where a load?of Queer Peers mass debated the need for the C of E to allow same sex queers â marryâ in church . Wonder which one wears white ?
Lucky Queer peers have time to chat about such stuff as opposed to tedious remainer schemes ….
The BBC news is reporting that snowflakes have caused massive disruption to the lives of ordinary people today.
Unfortunately they cannot bring themselves to understand that this happens all the time, irrespective of the weather, nor that they themseves are part of the problem.
BBC 10 pm news.
A tribute to Jeremy Hardy.
He was described as âA life long socialistâ.
And guess who turned up to eulogise him?
Why, Jeremy Corbyn, of course.
What fun it would be to find some old BBC quotes about the impartiality of certain of its âcomedyâ programmes.
No doubt the BBC are working out which centre-right comedian will replace him.
Only joking, of course.
Any idea how much the BBC paid the ‘life long socialist’ from our money? I hope no mote then ÂŁ10, else that would violate the principles of the life long socialist.
So Farcebook (not a typo) censored this guy for thirty days for telling the truth about what’s happening in Germany?
Takes me back to the mass rape by Muslims of German women in Cologne and the abject failure of the cowardly mass media in Germany and elsewhere to report on that extraordinary violation. I believe it was around that time that the treacherous Mark Zuckerberg conspired with the equally treacherous Merkel to censor facts the PeeCee elite consider inconvenient.
Bad as this was, it doesn’t compare in scale or time to the mass gang rapes of young White girls by Muslim gangs over a period of 30 years.
No such incidence of such monstrous treason by the entire establishment and the betrayal of the country, is to be found in history anywhere. None. Not even the Nazis sold their young girls to foreigners for a few votes.
Hypothetical situation : two football teams
Brexit United are playing Remain United in the cup
..Remain United win and move to the next round
For that next match who is going to pick their team and strategy ..would they invite Brexit United boys Farage and Mogg to have a say ?
Now imagine Brexit United actually won the cup draw and move to the next round
For some strange reason every Remain United pplayer is allowed to veto who is in the team, plus referee Bercow is also allowed to weigh in and change the rules of the game.
========================
If Remain had won the referendum, Remainers would not be bring in Mogg and Farage to say what type of Remain we get, would they ?
It would be “see you losers”
How can the BBC write this about the horrors endure by Asia Bibi, yet they still insist that the UK takes more and more Muslims from this backwards culture?.
Its a shame that Asia Bibi is Christian and not Muslim. Otherwise she would be invited to Britain, given an Oxford scholarship, and nominated for the Nobel prize. Plus a UN roving ambassador for “Tolerance and Peace”.
She has suffered living hell for ten tears or more.
“Otherwise she would be invited to Britain, given an Oxford scholarship, and nominated for the Nobel prize. Plus a UN roving ambassador for âTolerance and Peaceâ. ”
The worry is – for Asia Bibi – is that I and many other observers can see this poor girl being murdered – not in the UK though. She will never be given a chance by the UK government to prove how wrong the elites within the BBC who just love Muslims but zealously hate Jews and Christians. What’s the chance of her being murdered in England to being hung drawn and quartered by Islamic liberals – I did say liberals, we won’t discuss the hardliners/murdering imams and their “religion of peace” cohorts.
vesnadog: The worry is â for Asia Bibi â is that I and many other observers can see this poor girl being murdered â not in the UK though
In effect. by the West denying the existence of Jihad – eternal war against the Infidel by any and all means, as mandated by the Koran and the example of Mohammed, the West has given Islam the freedom to do what its doctrine requires, not just in Islamic countries but in the West as well. The church has simply caved in.
What gives me immense pleasure, is reading the latest doom and gloom from the BBBC rag (Guardian) and dismissing it as the crap that it is and then being tapped for a contribution (it only takes ÂŁ1) begging plea knowing that this dire publication is soon to follow the dinosaurs into extinction.
The Guardian (guardian of what we might ask) banned me from its HYS after I’d put my oar in there for many years – during which time I unfortunately neglected this fine site.
My crime was to challenge the mass propaganda, lies, distortions and hysteria (much of it from the Guardian and the BBC) surrounding the death of Michael Brown, a young black criminal killed by a white police officer in the US.
Like you it gladdens me to observe the justifiable decline of that subversive rag.
black-face photos : If Trump or a Republican turned out to have old black-face photos would the BBC leave the name of the party off the title of the news report ? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-47098776
If Trump or a Republican turned out to have old black-face photos
…would the libmob be accepting a sincere apology that it was just student hijinks from years ago ?
The bbc has suddenly taken a deep interest in anywhere but America. Wonder if Nick Bryant is en route to India today âreportâ in a New York minute about dodgy politics there?
The new “UK” fascists, although first to whinge about racism, happy to openly exercise their intolerance to minorities? where is the BBC outrage ????? gay bashing muslims…
Around 400 parents, predominantly Muslim, signed the petition of objection
The No Outsiders In Our School programme promotes LGBT equality
Andrew Moffat, assistant head teacher of Parkfield Community School in Birmingham, said he had been threatened in leaflet handed out by campaigners
Muslim school does not allow girl pupils to eat lunch until after the boys have finished, Ofsted chief tells MPs
So basically the whole thing is a cut-and-paste fairy tale — some would say horror story — riddled with inconsistencies, that believers are willing to kill for.
One of the comments quotes Thomas Aquinas on islam: “Those who believed in Mohammed were brutal men and desert wanderers, utterly ignorant of all divine teaching, through whose numbers Mohammed forced others to become his followers by the violence of his arms.”
Fox News, one of the last broadcast media in the US working according to ethical standards, had Jesse Watters debunking the hysteria and lies over the Covington incident.
âA hijab gets put on you around age nine. It means your childhood is over. But you still wear it because want to please your family and your god. And you're told if you donât wear it youâll burn in hell.â@ConfessionsExMu on why she started #NoHijabDayhttps://t.co/LcvoN9d8J5
BBC weather girl Helen Willets looked almost in tears at having to tell us the painful ‘news’ that the the south of England is still suffering the tragedy of 2/3 inches of snow this morning.
Snowflakes all at the beeb.
Hereâs a story which Sopel and co wonât cover for long …
A democrat governor has a picture in his school yearbook of him dressed as KKK member and a mate â blacked up â . The governor wonât resign .
This comes as a result of the democrats trying to stop the republican nominee for the Supreme Court when they went back to the candidatesâ youth to try to find a reason to block him .
Donât get me wrong . People change – every kid – you – me – does something wrong or stupid
But it has to be a level field if past history is raked over . For democrat snowflakes it appears not to apply .
As I said – betcha the BBC wonât follow this for days or weeks ….
Stew – if you are referring to me – itâs because editorial perks allow to uptick myself when no one is looking . No tissue is needed either …
The fedup household is busily looking down the back of sofa settee for the extra ÂŁ4 the bbc needs to pay Gary â production company â linaker and the like –
Maybe Fedup2’s post told us what was going on and offered us a viewpoint, whereas Stew’s gave us a YouTube pictoral link and one of those contextless and hence meaningless bits of Twitter guano, “We deserve better than a president who won’t condemn white supremacists.”?
Any product made in the UK after Brexit, which might be sold into the EU market, will still need a CE mark. If it is just sold in the UK it can still have the CE mark.
China is not in the EU but some of their products have CE marks.
The mark just means it conforms to EU standards so the BBC are just creating more fake news.
I wonder if the bbbc and other remainers know that our exporters are already selling things to the eu which have been changed to suit the eu market.
Cars are LHD for export to the eu and car manufacturers have no problem doing this so why do remoaners think we will not be able to still export to the eu after Brexit, any small changes can be made where needed.
Iâm sure household appliances can still be exported with German or French mains plugs fitted as we do now.
Basically, any business will be able to adapt to sell items to the eu if any future change is needed to the exported item (as it is now) so there is no need to panic that exports will cease after Brexit.
The BBC just cannot resist creating the opportunity to take a pop at President Trump. On TOADY today, our Mishal fires a leading question at failed Venezuelan politician, Rafael Ramirez (former Oil Minister, possibly now living very comfortably somewhere other than in Venezuela) asking was it helpful of President Trump to recognise Juan Maduro. Of course, no, comes the reply. No recognition that it was a US State Department thing, a US Government thing. It was all the fault of President Trump.
However, as the interview goes on, Rafa shows why perhaps he is a failed politician: he still wants America to buy Venezuelan oil. No politics, just give us yer money! How dim can a failed politician be? How out of touch can a failed politician be? The US became a net oil exporter – again – some time ago.
Oops, brain fade on my part in my post at 8.19am. (Excuse: had been awake too long. 2nd Excuse: had heard the start of the TOADY Programme for second, if not third, time in a week!)
Line 4 at start should read ‘suggests Juan Guaido, not Juna Maduro. B-BBC Readers may have known what I meant, instead of what I wrote. Which rather suggests that Juan Guaido is as good as another ….
I have Sky News running in the background because I couldn’t care less what they say, and it is less extreme than the BiasedBBC.
However, in a moment of madness I switched to Click, the BBC technology program, where Microsoft is back on top because an old white man who used to be CEO had retired and a new generation has taken over. Cut to an Indian games writer and he is why Microsoft is in the lead again.
Then Venezuela, where Guaido is protrayed as the new Obama and Maduro as a lying Trump, crowd sizes and all. It would also appear that Venezuela is just a normal sort of country where the economy has gone wrong at the hands of Maduro. The streets are relaxed and democracy is going to prevail in new elections.
There was an article in the Times yesterday about the BBC. The article was urging the BBC to modernise as it was losing young viewers and listeners at an alarming rate. The columnist was a BBC supporter but recognised that all was not well at the corporation. What was interesting was not the article itself but the response it elicited from readers. I estimate that 90% of the comments and likes were very strongly against state funding of the BBC and most just wanted rid of it. The main reasons that they commented in this way was one that we on this site are very familiar with , overwhelming leftist and internationalist bias across its entire output. We are not alone in our detestation of the overmighty but seriously ailing BBC .
I have joked, but clearly hiking the tvl to cope with falling viewer numbers is not an endless option, even for specialists in unique funding. Botneyâs pension pot is hardly a rallying cause to inspire the masses, even if he does get brought in to add a bit of bi-annual culture to âEnders.
As actually offering something folk want and expect is beyond them, there has to be a point where it sinks in that every man, woman and child in the U.K. is going to have to be forced to pay for Emily to give Victoria a gong, and vice versa.
This may not be as well received as imagined in W1A. Or Westminster, who doubtless will be persuaded to play along, or else. I have already told my MP that, on top of the handling much else, being told to pay for propaganda will not be welcome.
Wishful thinking woukd say that increasing the licence reduces take up but I bet a load of people pay by dd so wonât notice it going up by 30 something pence a month ….
The money will go on the ReichEUBBC palace in Brussels .
Guest, umhhh …aaahh… a phrase has just flitted through my mind in response to your post’s opening sentence. Hopefully, it is on the way to DG, Tony Hall’s brain.
‘You cannot buck the markets.’
Must put some wool in that right ear of mine. Will stop a terrific draught and also some of the BBC’s output from causing brain damage.
Yesterday the Guardian had a juvenile opinion piece from Holly Rigby about teachers and a four day week.
The link above is from the “authority” quoted by Holly.
This is the start of a Labour campaign, “Work less and shake the money tree harder”.
“We suggest using the public sector as an innovator in adopting a shorter working week without a reduction of pay.
A shorter working week in the public sector would bolster staff wellbeing and productivity . . .”
The pre-eminent example of shooting the messenger, the Labour “Government” commission a report, and reject the truth (see money tree above).
“Jones told MPs that Whitehall could be run with “half as many” civil servants and that he had been amazed during his time in government by how many staff “deserved the sack”.
Welcome to socialism.
Where the state, and ts workforce, âdeserveâ ever more benefits at the expense of the private sector.
Check out the gleaming new offices of Doncaster Council for instance.
And where the resulting pre-eminence of the state requires criticism of it to be prevented, and failings to be swept under the carpet.
Not unlike the BBC or the NHS in fact.
To clarify something after some (wilful?) misunderstanding of my comments on party balance: we balance parties across a series, not a single show, to provide variety and flexibility. Would be impossible anyway when – as often happens – a given party not made available. https://t.co/xoSIlSmWBn
Humph chats to 2 luvvies who were hired to do â The day todayâ and asks âwhy ainât it done now?â

Imagine lampooning the current MSM – wouldnât get off the ground – dumped at birth like a third world baby in a newham Park
BBC are so up themselves, that it’s normal for much of their shows to be plugging other BBC shows by their mates.
So whilst R4Today plugged the Day Today
… the very next prog Saturday Live opened with Jim Al-Khalili plugging his new novel.
And the other guest was the 21 year old black netballer Eboni Beckford-Chambers.
SG, in the modern media context is everything. Last week the Daily Telegraph ran a story on Leonardo da Vinci’s painting techniques. The painting used to illustrate the story was “A Man Tricked by Gypsies”.
LBC now a young Somali : Ali is saying at aged 19 he had to give permission for his 9 year old sister’s FGM in Somalia.
“I didn’t want any FGM at all, but as a man I have no choice, they are going to do it anyway, they say it’s part of the culture, so all I was able to do was ask for slight cutting of the clitoris rather than the full removal”
Apparently at 0555 am Saturday the BBC tv news channel put out the weather for Friday – which obviously had lots of those coloured weather warnings …… and people noticed !
Maybe there was a clue because of mentions of the Friday rush hour ……luckily it wasnât Tamas ( look at me arnt I great ) shaft-a- knackered
Apparently on Breakfast TV the Hull area bod has flicked the wrong switch on Thursday so it kept giving us the London local news instead of the actual local news
.. ages before they fixed it.
The Times has more good news about the slow and hopefully painful demise of auntie:
“Viewers ditch TV licences as Netflix effect takes hold.
The number of people cancelling their television licences has jumped as viewers ditch the BBC in favour of streaming services such as Netflix.
More than 860,000 TV licences were cancelled in 2017-18, compared with 798,000 a year earlier.
The figures, amounting to 2,300 cancellations a day, represent the first official data to support anecdotal evidence that the âNetflix effectâ is leading viewers to abandon the BBC entirely…”
Vlad
Yes that’s good news about the beeb but The Times website is paywalled. Which is fine if people like to subscribe if they think the journalism is worth the money. But it made me think when was the last time I actually bought a paper from a newsagent?
I remember buying The Times back around 2009-10. I was in a job where we all tried to finish the crossword before lunchtime, it wasn’t for the news articles. Now and again I’d buy a Telegraph or some Red Top comic to read in the pub, but I stopped doing much of that after the smoking ban came in.
Although I keep the Guardian & Daily Mail websites as favourites (just to see what leftist/mainstream rubbish they are trying to spin) I virtually never look at ordinary media anymore. I assume it’s all propaganda, pap, outright lies and of course ‘fake news’.
I’m surprised so much of these ‘dead tree’ titles are still financially viable – probably propped up by a sinister globalist villain – sitting in a hollowed out volcano with fluffy white cat!
The bottomline is that 5.9m licences were cancelled since 2012.
I bet they move away from TV licences and bring in a public media tax to fill the Netflix non live broadcast loophole.
The Times bizarrely chose only one anecdotal example *A Labour supporter*
\\ Jessica Tooze, 34, a local authority worker from Cornwall, said that she cancelled her licence in protest against what she perceived to be the BBCâs bias against the Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, as well as its lacklustre entertainment offering.
âThe quality of programming on the BBC cannot touch Netflix,â she said, //
So can someone tell me why the Government is allowing the BBC to increase its licence fee? Why are they not being encouraged to live within their means. Even if it means that lower staff like Maxicony have to eat from food banks.
Toady earlier: Code of Practice for universities in relation to guest speakers being denied the floor to speak on topics, some of which may leave audiences uncomfortable with the content. I canât find any link on the BBC website, sorry.
So, efforts must be made to bolster Free Speech even when it will upset some students. At first sight, it sounds like the universities must provide a, âsafe spaceâ for Free Speech. But, pray tell me, what happens if one or more members of a university audience hear speech which they see as upsetting? Do they now report it to the Police as a speech Hate Crime because their âfeelingsâ are bruised? Alternative view? The Police regularly organise âStingsâ purposefully to attract thieves. These âhoney-potsâ do the job. Criminals flock to the setup and, when they break the law, are arrested on the spot.
Perhaps this new Code for Universities is simply a plot. Otherwise, those that produce legislation and âRulesâ have run out of places to go and/or its just a case of too much legislation/rules to the extent where one set of Rules/law falls foul of another which was not foreseen. Either way, the UK Stasi will have a field day.
BBC continues its agitprop against essential âno dealâ leave. A third of businesses will leave the UK apparently. Highly unlikely. And did the bbc squeal when industry was decimated under prior governments. When farming was threatened by EU food mountains and lakes. Airbus is an example given of an EU multinational that will relocate. Airbus is a vast governments-supported, inefficient joke company. All lies. Pre Y2K horror story level fear-mongering. I used to love Britain. Now I feel it deserves the punishment of the EU high priest legislators, judiciary, policy w(o)ankers, red tape makers. We deserve to be forced to use that toilet paper currency the euro.
Speaking of agitprop, just got the latest mentalist call* to arms from one of way too many âcharityâ activist groups:

Dear Jeremy,
MSM lobbyists are redoubling their efforts to flood Britain with ever more barking Project Fear stories. [1] They want to strike a blow for Remain that would rip up the rules to keep our control over how the country thinks safe. [2]
Meanwhile, right now, MPs are considering changing a law to protect us from being forced to pay for propaganda and Botneyâs pension. [3] But unless they hear from us, thereâs a chance this change won’t happen. Together we need to drown out any lobbyists that donât feel that Carrie Gracie is worth every penny but reckon Newsnight might be a bit partial.
To get MPs to listen to us – not the people – weâll need to put up a really big fight. Itâll take adverts, meetings, expert research, and the best political intel to make sure sure we send the message loud and clear: donât let our cushy charity gig be affected. And all that takes money.
Katty will you chip in and join the biggest fight yet to protect our endless whinging? We donât have long.
MSM lobbyists see the BBC as a âonce in a lifetimeâ chance to further drive down concerns over our news standards. [4] For them itâs about a quick buck, pensions and awards shows, but for us itâs about the Charter that gets only honoured in the breaking.
If we all chip in we could drown out those with minds of their own, by:
Making sure MPs listen to us, not the public, by paying for ad vans, billboards and leaflets in their constituencies
Exposing the threat to brain dead media standards in a hard-hitting report the BBC can refer to as impartial âresearch that suggestsâ simply by cut and pasting as ânewsâ.
Grabbing peopleâs attention by getting ads and stories in the newspapers MPs read, like the Guardian and… well, thatâs it.
Getting insider intelligence to make sure weâre on top of the latest threats by inserting rigged media âinvestigatorsâ and sorting their footage in post.
Thereâs still time to protect the BBC to corrupt generations to come. But itâll take a big, loud campaign to make it happen. Kirsty, please will you chip in now?
Thanks for everything you do, and for not pointing out that you are on our mailing list for reasons we are too delusional to grasp.
Jess, Mike, Laura, Kieran and the 38 Degrees team

*A few words have been changed to protect rationality.
“Airbus is an example given of an EU multinational that will relocate. ”
If Airbus wants to continue to sell its aircraft and helicopters to our military and police they will have to continue to manufacture here. That’s how international trade works. The BBC knows this, but yet again tells lies for the cause.
Humphrys’ prime time Today interviews were on the subject of the breakdown in US/Russian nuclear treaties, due to claimed Russian breaches. His first interview was with Rt Hon Sec of NATO. All Humphrys was interested in was trying to suggest Trump was mad & isolated. NATO man did not oblige & claimed solidarity of NATO members with Trump’s ultimatum.
It meant that when a Russian was interviewed next he just claimed that it woz the Americans wot done it (breached) & we were none the wiser.
Humphrys’ approach meant we ended up not knowing any more than he said/he said.

Iâm sure there was some discussion about the ruskis deploying nuclear weapons toward the NATO border ages ago – and that they were stealing / developing techy to threaten the West .
I still think the Ruski long game to to manoeuvre ReichEU into forming its own army – letâs call it the weitsmarcht ( spelling ) and thereby disassemble NATO – the ultimate aim – on its journey to take back the Eastern EU buffer states .
Hell im only an armchair supreme commander so what do I know . Iâm sure there are plenty of useful idiots in Brussels
Once the Ukraine joins the EU the reconstituted Army Group South’s new start line will be only a few hundred kilometers short of the Volga. All we need then is for Putin to rename Volgograd.
I donât listen to The News Quiz any more but listened with great pleasure to some smug called Jupp doing a somber bit about their departed comrade . Plenty of the same type to replace him .- but maybe slightly less supportive of IRA terrorism .
BBC Weather forecast shows the South of England lowest temperatures as -4 and the weather girl talking says temperatures will be -10 or -12 in the South East. So why not show that on the graphic?
I suppose they are hoping to dupe deaf viewers ?
Just f*cking tell the truth BBC it won’t kill you.
The subject matter deserves a lot better than this exchange, I suspect that the topic could have been anything and get the same party line from this woman. Brain well and truly washed, rinsed, spun then fried to the point where rational thought and conversation become impossible.
By posing this question in this precise way, Sir Bill forced the Prime Minister to admit in the House that the intention of âThe Dealâ (The Withdrawal Agreement) is to over-turn the repeal of the 1972 Communities Act, the essential legal instrument which keeps us bound into the European Union.
…
The explicit intention of the Prime Minister, following a successful vote for her revised Withdrawal Agreement is to introduce what she referred to as the WAB (The Withdrawal Agreement Bill) – another Act of Parliament to essentially reverse the Withdrawal Act and the Referendum result – remember the âImplementation Periodâ can extend to 2099 currently.

Thanks for that info last week re how to access YouTube transcripts. I see that the opened transcript moves along with the video, which is useful.
I’m beginning to find it in my heart to forgive Fiona Bruce for her sometimes-unclear speaking voice because there is mounting evidence that she will be rather more balanced and fair than Dimbleby. It’s even possible that whoever selects the audience is doing a better job.
Here’s Fiona putting her foot down and insisting that the shadowy Labour justice secretary answer the question:
Naturally the far-left Labour shmuck, being a politician, will not answer the question but goes off on a tangent. Fiona gets impatient with him, pointing out that it’s a yes-or-no question and eventually saying, “I still can’t hear whether you regret it or not,” and then holding her hands out to the audience and asking them, “Have you heard it?” – which gleaned a few appreciative chuckles.
I suppose there will be another complaint from Labour, although I’m not sure how they can complain about the shmuck being asked a few time to answer a simple question.
Gina Miller, though a staunch Remainer and advocate of another referendum, made a lot of sense here, (at 25 min 40 sec in) with a passionate attack on politicians, who are only concerned about their own future job prospects while the negative aspects of the ‘deal’ are not limited to the backstop but to the fact that the EU gets all the power over the UK while the UK gets nothing.
Why she didn’t support Leave means Leave in the first place is beyond me.
@TrueToo I read your post, but I already know Question Time is a garbage prog made by metrolibs for metrolibs, so it’s got nothing to do with me.

Firstly OK there are tricks like checking if anyone else has already done something
I go to Twitter and search : Richard Burgon refuses
..and yeh someone has already put up a video clip
#2 yeh Fiona B got one over on Richard Burgon, but is that her job ? It’s not her Fffing interview show ..it’s up to her to just facilitate and speak less and leave the panellist to call each other out.
Anyway we need the background lets look at the background , what did Burgon Tweet
amusingly someone has done a collage tweet
..You know how she knew to ask that question ?
More that one person tweeted the show before hand to tell her to ask that question
At 11:26am before the show @Jamespownall6 had tweeted
\\Will you ask Richard Burgon if he continues to celebrate the election of Maduro as he did in 2013? //
Ash Sarkar: âThe idea that Corbynistas have been misty-eyed about Venezuela is largely a myth.â #Marrpic.twitter.com/AJ9yNKgDje
BTW if I hadn’t found that someone had made a clip
I could have just tweeted a direct link to the YouTube start time
and then posted that Twitter URL here
That does produce a video window here that does begin right from the right ime
This video clip shows Labour MP Richard Burgon refusing to answer "Do you regret tweeting endorsment of Maduro ?" BTW it's not her job to do gotchas, , she should shutup and let the other panelists call each other out#Venezuelahttps://t.co/XBbhYVwr1i

BBC are sending black wheelchair athlete Ade Adepitan to Africa for a 4 part series.
He’ll be in Senegal discussing the slave trade.
I wouldn’t mind so much, if my licence fee was paying for him to give constructive information for the disabled when they travelled – ie which places to avoid and which hotels have the best amenities for wheelchair uses etc etc. but the few reports from around the world I’ve seen him doing, are nothing of the sort.
In fact I am probably contributing to triple the cost it must be, in catering for his disability when he travels to remote parts that most able bodied don’t get the opportunity to go to. Does he have a helper, aside from the camera/sound man ? and the insurance cover cant be cheap, do we pay for that as well ?
Hope he has a close look at Africa : genital mutilation, murders of white farmers, corruption, stealing of overseas aid, maybe start with the Xmas jumper appeal money sent to South Sudan and haw many billions of oil revenue stolen by ther “president” and we feed the starving kids, yep africa lets have a close look at it and the thieving corrupt bastards in charge of the countries that starve and beg for money

OK, OK, I own up.

And Mr Hardy was ashamed of being white.
Unless he accepted Jesus as his Lord, before he died, I suspect he’s feeling a little warm at the moment; and for all eternity.

How gratifying then, to have the BBC owning up to the truth today, even if they do not apologise for their past FakeNews & FalseFacts: https://www.bbc.com/food/diets/could_you_cut_your_food_bill_by_a_third

Takes me back to the mass rape by Muslims of German women in Cologne and the abject failure of the cowardly mass media in Germany and elsewhere to report on that extraordinary violation. She will never be given a chance by the UK government to prove how wrong the elites within the BBC who just love Muslims but zealously hate Jews and Christians. In effect. by the West denying the existence of Jihad – eternal war against the Infidel by any and all means, as mandated by the Koran and the example of Mohammed, the West has given Islam the freedom to do what its doctrine requires, not just in Islamic countries but in the West as well.

People sometimes wonder what hell will be like if one is naughty and sent there. I think the answer is the BBCs own Roger Harrabin
On Toady he went to Tromso inNorway to look at a hotel with a gimmick of reducing food waste .
God who cares ? Being working class when I go to an overpriced hotel I am determined to get me moneyâs worth .
Harabin seems to not understand that one way or another everything is recycled .
Beeboids might worry about such nonsense as they sit in their tax paid hotel rooms but there is more to life than that .

I couldn’t take it any longer

StewGreen,
Thanks for that info last week re how to access YouTube transcripts.
Do you regret that Labour supported Maduro?
