When, during negotiations, one side has a fantastic deal and the other side has a dreadful deal, if it is eventually passed and signed off then it never lasts and usually has very bad consequences. Just think of the humiliation of Germany by the Allies after WW1 and the result of the Compeigne surrender terms and what followed.

May has completely surrendered to the eu and the vassal state rules we must obey are indeed a total capitulation.
The eu can’t believe it’s luck.
Trump diplomatically said “it’s a good deal for the eu”
We can all see how rubbish and one sided it is.

If the WA goes ahead it cannot last, it will cause riots.
It will be replaced as soon as we can vote in a proper government, 2022 at the latest.

Just imagine if it was the other way round.
The eu pays us £40 billion plus £10-£20 billion a year to be allowed to trade with us.
To have no access to our fish.
We have 73 seats at the eu with whatever influence that gives.
The eu is under U.K. law.
    And so on……

That would be totally one sided and unacceptable.
    It could never work.
The same applies to this WA and whatever else (everything) May will give away to remain with brino.

      EG,
“It will be replaced as soon as we can vote in a proper government, 2022 at the latest.”
At the time the Fixed Term Parliaments Act 2011 came into force I was suspicious. Particularly when learning the evil Clegg was principally behind it. Now I see, everyone has been outmanoeuvred by our equally evil Parliamentarians without even seeing it coming. The only way to bring a Government down and force an election is if two-thirds of the HoP vote No Confidence. This legislation was tested in the HoP mere weeks ago and found to be lacking.
This Government has turned Brexit completely around in just over two years. All the political elite know they will get a severe culling at the next election. But, hey ho! what stops them getting together to conspire to divert the peoples wrath in 2022 in the knowledge that a culling for them would alter the cosy HoC balance and probably let Farage et al. in. After all, they’ve got an equal amount of time to deconstruct and reconstruct the FT Parliaments Act in their favour. Why not abolish elections, completely destroy what’s left of democracy and free speech and have a two-party dictatorship?

    — Female aspiring journalist (and finalist in the #BBCYoungReporter competition) Tayla talks at length about about the turmoil of growing up with an alcoholic mother who died young.

    — Female writer and presenter (the Times; Evening Standard) Emily Dean talks at length about her new book ‘Everybody Died, So I Got a Dog’. It’s a “beautifully written, funny, heartbreaking story of love, loss and starting again.”

There appears to be an air of schadenfreude in this BBC report on the widening of the USA’s trade deficit, as it flies in the face of Trump’s efforts to shrink it. The BBC article fails to mention that the US economy has grown so much more than the rest of the developed world in the past year. Perhaps that growth could just be responsible for pulling in imports???

Well, the news has been fascinating this afternoon. From The Old Bailey we heard that Muslim convert, Lewis Ludlow, planned a massacre in London’s west end. He’d intended to set off a truck bomb in Oxford Street to “make the British people pay with their blood.”
Now, you can tell by looking at this pathetic specimen that he’s a couple of shillings short of a ten bob note; he’s “vulnerable” and was clearly exploited by vermin like Anjem Choudrey, with whom he’s been linked.
Thankfully this dangerous half wit is now under lock and key though only for a minimum of 15 years, which I consider to be extraordinarily lenient. Alas Choudrey is now out and about.
The next item on the news was the delightful case of a father organising an acid attack “on his own son.” The boy suffered burns to his face and arms in the attack. It wasn’t just the father who arranged it, he somehow managed to get five others to assist him in this evil venture. Where do you get five blokes to agree to do something like that? Hmm, let me see…
Once again this despicable third world mentality utterly baffles me. Who (or what) could perpetrate such a heinous, vile, despicable crime on their own three year old son? It beggars all understanding.
But you know what we’ve really got to be careful of?
I’m sure the Beeb, The Guardian, and Channel 4 will all be lecturing us shortly…
    Islamophobia.

Stew, we do do the same in the UK. The last time I did Jury Service (about which I will not write in detail – Jurors are instructed not to) the Judge gave a warning each day, IIRC, to the Jury to not look at any information relating to the case, nor to seek any extra information about the case, when outside the Courtroom. He was supported by the Jury Usher in his warnings who repeated them to us in the Jury Waiting Room.

I was a bit surprised to see an article, on the BBC web-site the other day, titled ‘What goes on in a Courtroom.’ I wonder if the BBC journalist broke any rules?

@Up2Stuff You are wrong & BBC is right
cos malaria death toll reached 435 000 in 2017.
ie less than 1% of 56million deaths that year

BUT since the BBC doesn’t do science
actually The BBC is wrong & you are right overall
cos health professionals should not talk about raw deaths
How many people will die on this planet ?
… all of them of course

The correct metric is Life Days Lost …. Quality Adjusted ..so QALDs
And that’s where you malaria comes in
Cos malaria often kills kids ..it is wiping out way more QALDs than some of the diseases that affect people in their old age like dementia.

Diarrhea affect kids and kills at a rate triple that of malaria ..so it’s even worse
Aids might kill about 1 million but much older so less QALDs

Yesterday BBC 1 Lunchtime news carried a report on the sinking island of Ghoramara. Located in the Sundarban Delta complex of the Bay of Bengal
The whole report was blamed solely on climate change, sea rise caused by global warming. The pièce de résistance of this report was a claim by the BBC reporter that there is a rise in the Bay of Bengal sea level, due to glaciers melting in the Himalayas. I nearly fell off my seat when I heard this.

No mention at all that the Indian continent of the Indian plate is sinking into the Earth’s mantle beneath the Asian plate due to subduction and has been for the last 90 million years. Water levels have also been naturally rising since the last ice age.
Lack of proper dredging undertaken by the Kolkata Port Trust has been blamed for coastal erosion. Also, because of the Farakka barrage and irrigation canals, sediments are now deposited further upstream instead of compensating erosion in the sea-facing islands.
“The erosion started in the early 1980s,” That is when the port trust started an underwater bund, diverting the Kolkata-bound shipping route. The waves created by the ships started eroding the islands.
This report was absolutely ridiculous. It was broadcasted with absolutely no research, containing false statements and blatant lies.

Lead story on Five Live news bulletin blames knife crime on youth services being cut.

    1. My kids do not go out stabbing when youth club is cancelled.

    2. Who on earth goes to ‘youth clubs’ now? It is not 1910.

    3. Surely you could meet hang members or stab people at ‘youth clubs’? If you like to stab people surely a bit of ping pong will not quell the homicidal urge; it could make it worse.

    4. Aren’t these youths too busy studying for Oxbridge to go to youth clubs?

    5. On what parallel moral universe could you possibly want to stab people to death? That level of wickedness transcends all the ‘youth services’ in the universe. This is never addressed.

Your point 5 is spot on, BB. The PC crowd have created the parallel moral universe you enquire about.
Whatever happened to factual language, also known as the truth? Let’s begin by calling people who murder other people ‘murderers’.
All this pussyfooting around trying to all but justify such activity is typical of the PC crowd. Forever trying to pin down something in society wot dunnit.
Poor little killers are never responsible for their own actions. Task one of PC journos seems to be to pervert the truth, followed by bending the facts and creating diversions.
‘Lack of yoof clubs’ is always a good diversion, they think.
That way the 5 live propaganda bulletin can blame murder on (implicitly Tory) cuts..
      Very ‘impartial’, of course.

Youth Clubs were not around in 1910, there was barely enough to eat, let alone have funding for community projects.

Youth Clubs came into their own in the 50’s and 60’s when skiffle was popular and the advent of rock’n’roll. It was more than ping pong, as it was the first era when teenagers started to emerge as dressing for themselves rather than younger versions of their Mum or Dad. If you lived outside the big cities where the dance Meccas could be found, then all you had were the ‘youth clubs’ for entertainment, and where we danced to the records of the 60’s played on somebody’s Dansette record player.

Frankie Vaughan, i(f you’ve never heard of him, then Google him) was a big advocate of boys clubs and youth clubs…… ” In his early life, he was a member of the Lancaster Lads’ Club, a member group of the National Association of Boys’ Clubs in the UK, and in his career he was a major contributor to the clubs, dedicating his monetary compensation from one song each year to them…………

In the late 1960s, Vaughan, involved himself with a youth project in Easterhouse, Glasgow. He was appalled by the level of violence amongst young people. Vaughan held meetings with the gang leaders and appealed for them to surrender their weapons. ” – this was half a century ago, so nothing ever changes, except the colour of the perpetrators.

Yes Brissles well recall Frankie Vaughan, well thought of by the Jewish fraternity I worked with. In view of what he did I joined the TA at 20 yrs of age, and met many young men who came from the East End of London and who had got into violent gangs. Two years in the TA and they were changed men, who appreciated certain social necessities and some rose in the ranks and joined the regulars. I was not an officer although was offered a commission, but went back into my industry. Perhaps because of my time in the TA and seeing because of it, young fellows change into very decent men, that is why I continue to promote a return of National Service to teach firstly respect for others and then for oneself, apart from learning to live and work alongside others. Some I know got married and had children and develped their lives away from the culture of gang violence.

Yeah, I’ve seen ‘Why don’t you’ and youth clubs are places where kids kick televisions, bully other members, sell drugs, plan burglaries and entertain visiting TV crews with tales about how they love chemistry or one day want to play for England.

Kids wouldn’t have to be swept up from the streets like feral rats if their parents actually bothered to care what they might be doing when school was finished (for those that actually attend) and they weren’t eating a chicken dinner from the nearest cheap imitation KFC.

I have a very good friend. Phd, staunch lefty on every issue, apart from the fact that he doesn’t support groups like ANTIFA. He is a loyal member of the NSW Green party. We agree on nothing political.
Surprisingly, a life long Dr Who fan from the start. Imagine my shock when last week he told me during a phone call that he’d stopped watching Dr Who!
When I asked why, he said it was because it had become too politically correct for him! Could stand it no more!
The amazing thing about the BBC is that they are now too thick and too zealous to realize what they are doing in shovelling their SJW nonsense out in spades.
If they can brass off people like my very tolerant friend and not see what they’re doing it is a sure sign they are descending deep into the realms of idiocy.

    Knife Crime?

Police officers should be issued with security wands that detect metal, as in airport checks.

Should a knife be found, the wand could double as a Cattle-Prod for Summary Justice.

This would keep the youth out of the Judicial System and save on the public purse.

Furthermore, police officers would remain on the streets rather than be engaged with red-tape back at the police station.

The concept may need a few tweaks…

    RE: ‘Youth services.’

I teach my children their values at home. I do not expect some mythical ‘youth worker’ to teach them not to murder – only in weird cults is raising children outsourced to people outside the family unit.

Why would a hardened gangster want anything to do with ‘youth services’ anyway? I am yet to hear of it in any rap/grime tracks.

I got wads of cash, and loads of drugs.
And love to play ping pong at da yoof club.

How do you become a ‘youth worker’? It is not exactly a recognised profession and you certainly do not need qualifications to become one. Seeing as the BBC expect these individuals to single-handedly solve the problem of violent crime one would expect them to be very highly trained indeed. I sure as hell could not do it. Minimum wage to go out at night and deal with these hoodrats? As well as being a horrible way to spend an evening it is probably extremely dangerous as well.

“Put that knife away – Winston! We are about to play Scrabble! A triple word score will provide all the status and fulfilment you currently derive from your criminal lifestyle.”

The BBC could recruit young people as Security Guards for the “British Broadcasting Corporation Field Army (BBCFA)”, Aunties Field Army or Antifa as its better known. Members of Antifa are probably trained by left-wing BBC security officers on BBC property, the uniform being black shirts with balaclava. But with white skin around the eyes, I would imagine that BBC Antifa Officers are recruited from the National Union of Journalists, not from the young black people with knives community.

I have felt extremely disillusioned at times – like most people. I thought about maybe joining a gym, changing jobs or perhaps getting into cooking. I never considered stabbing people to death as a route out of my disenchantment – maybe that is the vile ‘little Englander’ in me talking.

The BBC presumably paid this prat – not exactly a massive rap star with almost no Twitter followers. They sent him a tape of PMQs for his valuable insights for a five way discussion. A Youth Worker. Christ almighty.

    6 March:
At 6am the front page had a white hand holding a knife next to the story title, and I have sent an official complaint regarding the FACT that the vast majority of knife crime is not committed by white males, the front page picture has since been changed.
I also asked why, in an 85% white british population, we are assailed with picures of black people on their website falsely representing our demography… until it comes to crimes that are in fact, largely commited by black individuals and they then choose to use a picture of a white person
I consider this perverse and twisted, if not downright racist
