I think the placard holder was accurate in his description of The Prime Minister. Most dictionaries offer the same definition of the word ‘traitor’…
17.4 Million people voted to leave the EU. They trusted that the PM and her government would keep the promise that it made in delivering the wishes of the majority. The government, led by May have failed in it’s duty to honour the promises it made to the 52% of the Leave Vote. It is going against the will of the people. As I have said before, the majority of MPs in the HoC may respect the outcome of the vote but that’s not the same as implementing it.

How dare mr Islam treat a member of the public like that . And I’m glad that man stood his ground . ‘Traitor ‘ is the correct term .

What a difference a few months make.
Back last year, when it could be used as a proxy for Trump, it was “Believe Her”. Suddenly, some nuance is appropriate now that Biden is in the spotlight.
Funny. I don’t recall Trump’s age ever being a get-out clause.
Lewis sums it up in the comments.

To have A50 withdrawn really will be the ultimate betrayal .
And the kind of civil disobedience which has happened so far will , I predict , be nothing in comparison . I hasten to add – I am predicting and not supporting . I believe in objectivity as opposed to bias …

taffman – I can see her giving her ‘deal’ a 4th go, hoping to blackmail Brexiteers into supporting it, by telling them the alternative is a long, long delay.
Or a cross-over to the Merkel recipe, by ‘reaching out’ to Labour? A little ‘grand coalition’ on Brexit…?

Mrs Chamberlain is about to make an announcement …….

She needs an extension ?
To, once again – “Leave” with a deal.
IMHO Its just to buy more time for Al Beeb and the meeja to brainwash the public into changing their mind into staying in the EU forever.
We need a General Election to elect a True British Government . WTO all the way.
Vote UKIP.

Nick Boles MP resigned from the Tory party. Cos they won’t compromise (i.e. work out a deal together with Labour and/or arrange a Brexit sell-out).
Big Deal.
Not impressed.
Would be IF HE HAD ALSO RESIGNED HIS SEAT and quit parliament. That would definitely have been more than just virtue-signalling.
When you see an MP who puts his money where his mouth is, sit up and take notice. If his/her story is good, and takes notice of what 17.4 million people voted for, be impressed.

Understandable that it has errors – panic is setting in.
Problem is that most of our MPs are uneducated, stupid and don’t know what they’re voting for. They should be allowed a ‘Parliamentarians Vote’.
What? Oh yes they’ve already had several.
NO DEAL.

I see in the Express that Peston has lashed out.
The pattern continues: media people (Peston=ITV) take sides , conduct POLITICS; no longer just news and comment!
Perfect picture: add big business interests to those 2 and you have…
THE ESTABLISHMENT!
And (groan) bbc tv1 news have wheeled out Yvette Cooper again (groan).
Are they hoping she will join Letwin in a cross-bench attempt to sabotage Brexit?

I noticed that the Emir of Londonistan was granted a respectful audience on the Today programme this morning. Naturally, he was listened to quietly and not interrupted as he explained, in his usual inarticulate and snatched delivery, the following:
The Ultra Low Emissions Zone was necessary to combat our “illegal” air. Proles forced off the road by the charge will be able to walk, cycle or use public transport, which is nice of him. I think he will be sticking to the Mayoral BMW, but then again, he’s not little people, is he?
On Brexit, we need a second referendum, to overturn the result of the first. Fair enough, nothing wrong or undemocratic about that, and I’m sure the 15 million newly registered voters in Tower Hamlets are in full agreement.
Finally, the knife crime epidemic is due to the vicious Tory cuts, nothing to do with him, no sir, he’s only the Emir and son of a bus driver. Instead, the Prime Minister needs to hold a meeting on this every week, because meetings solve things, don’t they, and anyway, it’s not as if she is especially busy at the moment, is it? The main thing to remember is that crime in London is not, and never has been, the responsibility of the Emir. Never, never, never, as someone once said.
All in all, another triumph of fair and balanced BBC reporting Well done comrades, your Party is proud of you.

Ms May again.
The strategy I have long expected: a get-together with Labour. That may placate Barnier and Merkel (who will feel Britain has at last finally learned from her how politics ‘is done’?)
And -surprise- another extension.
And then letting parliament decide.
Followed by another extension.
There must surely be room somewhere in there for the kitchen sink?

Welcoming back the Customs Union and Freedom of Movement? Presumably these could be bolt on accessories the EU would be happy to append to their Treaty?

Regarding the latest emission strategy,
“It is part of a ‘polluter pays’ ethos – the broad theory that older more polluting vehicles will have to pay to enter the congestion charging zone.”
Apparently the research clearly shows that vehicle emissions are affecting peoples health, ok, so in what world is it ethical to allow people to continue polluting and profit from it? An outright ban on the worst polluters is the only ethical course of action, how about allowing smokers to light up in pubs for a small fee?

Jeremy Corbyn has lost control of the Labour Party.
They are now fully the Party of Remain in the EU and Yvette Cooper has asked leave to put a Bill before the House to prevent a No Deal Brexit in Law on 12th April. It is likely to be voted on tomorrow (Weds.) evening. I recall this ….
The situation for the Commander, was grim. They were up against an armoured mobile force that could command the plains. The enemy was vast in number, very powerful and battle hardened.
He had started out with a force of 32,000 volunteers. More than half were concerned for their families’ welfare should they be killed so the Commander had let them return home. With just 10,000 remaining, further tests reduced the force by 9,700 to a mere 300 men. They were more a Commando ‘hit and disrupt force’, more suited to the hill country that they were forced to inhabit, rather than one that could take on a full army on level ground.
At night, the Commander and an aide slipped down to the edge of the enemy encampment. It was vast and a single row of 300 men was insufficient to encircle it. While there the Commander and his aide heard some of the enemy talk of a vivid dream and its meaning.
The Commander then split his force into three companies of 100 men at points outside the enemy encampment. They were armed with swords but these were at their sides. Instead each held a trumpet and a lit lamp inside a pitcher. At a signal from the Commander, the trumpets were blown, a shout given and the pitchers smashed.
At which point, fear broke out among the enemy. In confusion, some turned on their comrades and killed them. Most fled in sheer terror.
And thus were the Midianites pursued and defeated in a battle that is still remembered and commemorated today.
All we need is 300 MPs plus the DUP plus the ERG to vote down the new Cooper Bill (should The Speaker allow it before the House) and vote again against, should any attempt be made by the PM to force her Withdrawal Agreement through the House one more time.

I was retaining a tiny bit of, benefit of the doubt for Theresa May but n I now fully accept she is the worst, most weak, incompetent leader we’ve had to endure in my lifetime of sixty plus years.
I still retain a little of sympathy for the possibility she could be diagnosed as suffering from a mental illness.

gaxvil, I think I got it wrong when I suggested she might have been converted to a Brexiteer by Mutti Merkel. I blame it on the red lines. The cunning plan that the PM could and should have had for accepting her weakness in order to win out against the EU – that’s in the bin, too. I also got that wrong.
I expected the Vicar’s daughter and regular church attender to be familiar with the writings of Paul the Apostle:
‘ Concerning this I implored the Lord three times that it might leave me. And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong. ‘
I have to concede that she probably doesn’t realise that her WA does actually breach one or more of her ‘red lines’.
However, I think my diagnosis that the PM is (an un-diagnosed) autistic is probably spot on. What I have been hearing via various colleagues of hers and Opposition members, via BBC R4, merely confirm it as far as I am concerned.

Anyone remember what’s happening with Tasnime Akunjee ?
I thought I’d seen that after his stunt of sending the loony to TR’s kids house, he’d stepped down from representing the bullied Syrian schoolboy.
I saw people alleging that Akunjthe bullying incident happened in October 26 the school dealt with it.
then a full month later Akunjeeee had got hold of the video and publicised it, provoking a reaction from TR
..then in February, he & Stu chbery sent the loon to the legal papers to the house.

StewGreen,
Interesting that YouTube withstood pressure for so long before they decided to fiddle with Tommy Robinson’s Panodrama. I wonder what finally made them succumb.
I last accessed the video about a week ago. Then it had been viewed 1 500 000 times with tens of thousands of likes and comments. It really is Orwellian that they have shoved all that down the Memory Hole and made it impossible to share the video or search for it on YouTube.
Apart from the obvious unfairness and insult to Tommy himself, there is also the lack of respect shown to his supporters who can no longer comment or check on others’ comments or monitor the extraordinary popularity of the video.
Apparently the censorship can be appealed – which I only discovered by clicking on ‘read more’ – but I’m not sure if Tommy will bother with that.

If his comments do not break the law then arbitrary censorship of free speech has arrived . And people used to sneer at Russia about state controlled media – now the corporations have joined in .

Katty and Christian say that the Civil Service has interfered yet again, with a ‘project fear’ letter to parliamentarians, full of dire warnings. I always thought the unelected c.service was there to do government bidding?
This time it wasn’t Oily Robbins…
So now we have the legislature doing the work of the executive, and the civil service manipulating them both.
Surprisingly, Katty & C. are talking to Kate Hoey, who talks sense. About the only person in Labour (occasionally also Frank Field) who does.

Katty and Christian have an American guest who tells us what high standards the Democrats now have – straight arm greetings, no hugs, are the way to go. Biden doesn’t understand — too old.
Katty agrees that Biden’s a bit too old. But then, there are also two other ‘old, white guys’ around -in the form of Bernie and Trump.
Apparently it’s OK for the bbc to say that.
A bit of ageism, a sprinkle of racism, & a touch of gender bias?

Fakenewswatcher,
Can’t link now but Paul Joseph Watson has a video on Biden perving on young girls. Like all his videos, it’s comprehensive and undeniable. It’s also sickening to watch. A few days ago Fox News had a woman on who described her personal experience of the pervert.
And this is the big deal who claimed he would have taken Donald Trump “behind the gym.”
The quality of Democrats seems to deteriorate daily.

There is no need to be concerned. This betrayal was always going to happen. Think of it as act one in which a panicked establishment shows it’s hand .
They have nowhere to hide now and nowhere to run to. If we are forced to remain in the EU then what will the EU do with a nation that is not just indifferent but actively hostile to everything it stands for. Had we left on good terms this would have been avoided but given the nature of the EU that was never going to happen
Then there is the unavoidable fact that the Commons and it’s hangers on will have effectively set aside the majority vote of June 2016.
What a hostage to fortune that will prove to be.
Lying to the people who voted in good faith will end badly. I do not see civil unrest but a quiet determination to take back control of our destiny . Leaders will arise. They always do and this time they will find a people ready and willing to follow.
This means I am not concerned about the events over the next few days. In fact what is coming has been coming for a long time. We have been in a pre revolutionary state for some years . Once again this fine country of ours will lead the way in restoring freedom and genuine prosperity to Europe. The globalisers and their mechanistic
view of human beings is the past. They just do not know it yet.

Well said, Dave.
You are correct. I observed on here some time ago that had we left in good time, without a deal and without any payment to the EU, life may have been difficult for a while but in adversity the country would have united, despite grumbling by determined Remainers.
Instead, by a non-Brexit departure from the EU, an opposition – a Resistance Movement or Independence Movement – will be created that will go on and on until we truly leave the EU or the EU itself collapses. There is an additional problem for Remainers in the House of Commons, there is the likelihood of a new political Party arising to actually take seats and hold the balance of power at some time.
The problem for a Remainer Establishment is that that Resistance Movement will be formed from ‘nice’ people, largely ‘middle class’ whatever that is, certainly a high proportion of Christians and they will not be badly behaved. Many to start with will have memories of how to resist Communism and will use the same tactics. They will therefore not be visible. They will be very hard to detect, totally ‘under the radar’, very hard to identify and ‘watch’.
If that is not enough to put fear in Remainer MPs then they need to think on this: the putative Brexit Party will inevitably be in competition with Plaid Cymru and the Scottish National Party. Competition improves the breed. The likely trend is that any Brexit Party will only grow in strength.
And if all that is not bad enough, then the new anti-EU Party is likely to appeal very much to young people. There’s nothing quite like an anti-establishment cause when you are a teenager. 😉

Thank you for that.
But we do feel powerless and frustrated – we feel a need to act.
That is the hard part.

As a natural pessimist I can’t see a revolution in any sense of the word . But every so often the optimist in me pops up . I cannot see the EU wanting a defective state like the current British one inside their evil empire disrupting the ever closer union – even the 20% funding might be worth losing because the current parliament could run til 2022.
So we might be out in 10 days time whatever tricks the speaker and cooper balls et al get up to .

The UK is already in an outer orbit without Euro nor Schengen. The inner core will continue coalesce regardless.
The head scratcher is the UK parliament apparently moving towards abandoning voting rights whilst simultaneously agreeing to continue to abide indefinitely by EU rules.
All this so delivery of ‘the Brexit people voted for’ can be claimed by a lame duck PM.

https://www.conservativehome.com/video/2019/04/watch-she-reaches-across-the-commons-to-corbyn-but-is-the-prime-ministers-move-a-feint.html
from one contributor 2 hours ago:
“QAs I understand it May’s latest is to get together with Corbyn to agree for Labour to support her WA “in the national interest”. Not sure what inducements she could offer him but the DUP and Northern Ireland are shafted. As is the Conservative Party.
Between that consummation it is hard to see how any other legislation can pass since the DUP will not back it.
The only arrangement that is probable is that they agree to hold a general election, the Tories find a new leader who is prepared for years in opposition and Corbyn and his coalition mates can take over this nonsense with the EU.
Corbyn, of course, would be delighted to cut Ulster loose as will Sturgeon.
End of the Union.”
