Then also, you realise the programme wasn’t really about South Africa at all. It was about the great, wonderful and courageous Fergal. SA was the setting, which initially seemed a vehicle for the great Fergal’s analysis of South Africa, seen through the liberal “we love St Mandela” glasses.
Only, his later trips there were a visits of how he got everything so wrong, by his own admission. Not that THAT prompted him to do any reassessments!

Strangely enough, the man who delivers my medication used to live in that part of the Africa and he told me some awful stores about him and his family having to flee their farm by the back way; with the gangs of blacks (goodies) on the horizon heading towards his homestead. Him and his family was so scared they had to risk their lives by fleeing into an animal reserve. Vesnadog – I read a number of SA papers and sites every day (Daily Maverick, Mail&Guardian, Politicsweb, IOLNews24 etc) as I have friends there, and can tell you there is plenty of that going on.

I remember on the last night of my last visit to New Zealand I was in my hotel and later was talking to a SA guy who had fled his country as he was in fear for his life – he was in the SA military and he also feared for his life – I asked him – would he go back?, he said it would take a huge change in politics to stop the anti-white hatred. He gave me the last empty can of lager which we was drinking that night; I have it as a reminder to that conversation. I often think of the challenge he and his family would have if they returned. As many have pointed out, how can it be legal to criticise Islam (if you are tired of living) but not legal to criticise individual followers of that religion or ones which exhibit, “perceived Muslim-ness” !!!???
Interesting you should mention that – we hear it a lot. An example of the mental gymnastics that defenders of unpleasant practices have to go through.
Surely a religion, a belief-system in other words, cannot exist without followers, otherwise it just becomes another dead historical curiosity like Mithraism or the Minoan religion.
A religion is only capable of causing concern when people choose to follow it. And, just to add fuel to the fire, I would argue that followers of watered down versions cannot be entirely blameless in much the same way that the milder mannered supporters of totalitarian regimes cannot be absolved on the grounds that they haven’t personally harmed anybody. The only exception I would make is for members of a religious sect that specifically precludes doing harm, otherwise IMO they have to risk being painted with the same brush.
There are comments elsewhere on this site about Bomber Command and the shabby way they have been treated since 1945. No special concessions for them according to the missions they were involved in – eg: Peenemünde good, Dresden bad.

How true this is I don’t know – I don’t wish to be labelled the usual words – I am an open-minded individual – id like to think that Muslim groups contain free thinkers, who will vote for who they want and not vote how they are told by there religion leaders etc.
the above is one reason labour will bend over for Muslims in the belief that if you have religion on your side then you will get all faithful followers to vote labour.

The problem has not gone away, it’s still here and still going on.
No-one gets to check the electoral roll either. It used to be possible to inspect the roll at main post offices and libraries, now you have to go the council offices where, under supervision, you can get to check your own entry.
Under the old system neighbours would have been able to spot and challenge suspicious entries.

Loobyloo… no problem. Give Tower Hamlets council a call, tell them how many you want and they’ll send them round on a scooter later today. If you’re worried about getting them back in time… again, no problem. Just tell them to complete them on your behalf and save having to wait in for the scooter. There’s a similar service available in parts of Birmingham and some Northern towns.

I listened to Shelagh Fogarty (ex-BBC) on LBC for a few minutes this afternoon around 2pm. She was discussing why The Brexit Party was riding so high in the polls and why the remain parties were not doing so well. Her conclusion was that Farage is a street fighter appealing to emotions and that the remainers were polite and factual. Also on several occasions she referred to Farage (a colleague at LBC) as a liar. I felt I was intruding on her grief but she did console herself by having conversations exclusively with remainers.

It seems the European Court of Justice (an enemy of indigenous European people, if ever there was one) decided a day or two ago, that even criminals who have committed serious crimes cannot be deported from Europe, if they are ‘migrants’, who might be in danger if returned to their own countries (if they make such a claim).
I gather they automatically become ‘refugees’ under the Geneva Convention. Not sure. Any lawyers around?
This particular case involved a murderer, a child rapist and a fraudster. Offences were committed in Belgium and the Czech republic, but the criminals could not be returned to the Congo, Ivory Coast or Chechnya, as the EU Court considered them to be ‘refugees’, overriding Belgian and Czech court decisions to withdraw their asylum status. The position and suffering of the victims of these crimes seems of no importance- they have no ‘rights’.
It appears that national courts can try what they like, and rule what they like, it’s all for nought if the ECJ decides otherwise? Being a ‘migrant’ now apparently gives you an even higher status in court than would be enjoyed by a European? Is this true, does anyone know? Do we want to be a part of this? Someone spoke earlier on here on this site of a Kafkaesque tyranny of faceless bureaucrats; is this not it? IT SEEMS TO BE, IN EVERY SENSE!
