9pm BBC2 Who Should Get to Stay in the UK?
Ep 1/3 This series follows the stories of those desperate to stay in the country and the lawyers tasked with helping them.
While some immigrants bring with them the prospect of investment and job creation, others come for asylum and sanctuary. //
“While some immigrants bring with them the prospect of investment and job creation, others come for asylum and sanctuary.”
In other words they are all portrayed as either heroes or victims. No mention of the rapes, grooming, FGM, primitive and disgusting rituals, inhumane animal slaughtering and of course murdering of homosexuals.
Hold the front page!
Radio 2’s 9pm ‘news’ – President Trump tweets ‘Whales’ rather than ‘Wales’.
A million greengrocers breathe a sigh of relief that public scrutiny is diverted from their labelling; ten million teenagers thought it was written as ‘Wails’.
Given HRH’s concern for the environment maybe it was a joke?
As a responsible listener (I wouldn’t listen to that crappy show anyway) I thought it my duty to put in a complaint about the BBC trying to defend Brand at lunch time.
The odd thing is that I haven’t even received an email acknowledgement yet! I suspect that the website is groaning with the volume that will have hit it, luckily I saved a pdf of the summary.

Imagine the ‘ management ‘ hours being put in to try to limit the self inflicted damage the jo Brand is doing their brand . ?
I wonder at what stage the BBC cuts ms brand loose so that she spends the rest of her ‘career’ on day time Channel 4 – after the trial of course .
Anyone else looked at their Twitter feed? Not much activity today but look at some recent tweets –
Hi Cat, I hope you don’t stop paying the licence fee. We all just bought boats to celebrate the Brexit party winning the EU elections and we really need the money to pay it off. Hope this helps.
Through gritted teeth and a churning stomach I have attempted to watch some of bBBC2’s programme on ‘Who Should get to stay in th UK’?
Among the people the BBC want to make me feel sorry for are
a. a Bangla Deshi student wanting the NHS to pay for his Crohn’s disease treatment in full because such treatment is not available in Bangla Desh. Where are my hankies?
b. A gay Trinidadian who wants to bring his boy-frend in to the UK
Unfortunately the BBC propoganda brainwashing is not working on me.
But if this is not bad enough, apparently hospitals, yes that is hard-pressed NHS hospitals so ‘short of funds’, do not think they should be carrying out anything to do with immigration and therefore do not charge for healthcare to people even though they have no entitlement to it !!!!!
Sluff, Ahh, I wish I could live ’till 2050 to confirm that May has saved the World from Climate Change 🙁
[wasn’t sure how to spell ‘Ahh’ dictionary says – Verb. ahh (third-person singular simple present ahhs, present participle ahhing, simple past and past participle ahhed)]
The 2050 thing reveals their true ant-car prejudice. Why? Because strangely the government wanting the 2050 zero emissions make no mention of the 3rd runway at Heathrow with the no-brainer 50% extra pollution this will create.
Air transport is pretty much the only transport type whose pollution has increased over the last 10 years. Heathrow’s answer to reducing this pollution is to charge ALL motorists £15 even just to do a drop off. Plus pushing for the Western Rail Access to Heathrow, as a result of which key local roads will be forced to close putting huge pressure on the residual road network.
Neither the BBC nor the government nor local councils seem to have anything to say about this glaring hypocrisy. No, the key thing is to make private transport as unattractive as possible and despite the public’s proven preferences, as shown by any amount of transport usage statistics, to favour collectivist, and therefore socialist, public transport.
The jaw-dropping example of this today was a BBC story about encouraging people on buses to talk to each other !!!!! This is good for loneliness. But how telling the professional advocate for this was not a psychiatrist but a greener transport spokesperson!
They will do anything to infer the evils of the private transport user and the merits of public transport.
Celtic & Sluff (good name combo that, I like it – are you two musical at all?)
The thought struck me this morning that next year is an Olympics year. I wonder if we will send teams from the UK to compete? And will the UK media circus be allowed to go? That will cause a massive amount of CO2 emissions all on their own, let alone with the rest of the world attending.
Perhaps the Olympics will be cancelled for the sake of the planet? Will the BBC ask that question?

\\ We speak to the LGBT campaigners who believe Pride Month is becoming too corporate and are questioning the ethical credentials of some companies sponsoring Pride events and products.//
That item was at 12:41pm on PInkwashing protecting your brand by putting up rainbow flags)
The rep made the fair point the laws are not equal in Northern Ireland
I wonder if it’s not partially about LGBT NGOs blackmailing corps for money.
BTW : BBC Radio Lincs lunchtime news In Boston a LBGT group is helping fight loneliness and set up a pride event
(Yet, it can’t be a big thing yet cos it is not on Twitter)
Apologies if a bit late but did anyone hear the disgraceful article on Toady this morning about M and S in Kirkaldy, Scotland?
M and S are to close the ‘High Street’ shop having opened an out of town store a few years ago.
Of course, the entitlement culture of the BBC (annual unearned income £4bn) do not understand the concept that private business needs to turn a profit. Neither do the sanctimonious, patronising, prats understand that the reason out of town is successful and High Street is not is in the sole preserve of the customers. Yes, customers. Those plebian people the BBC disdain. They don’t like town centres with no-where to park, or draconian anti-car policies. No, despite all the green agenda so beloved of the BBC, or perhaps because of it, they want to drive their private transport conveniently to a store of their choice. Something apparently utterly alien in concept to the BBC.
The BBC. Telling you what to think and do 24/7.
Yesterday evening Mrs S and I had a long leisurely evening meal with an old friend who happens to be a Lesbian. There are just zero issues about this. The only time we mentioned sexuality all evening was in the context of wanting to know how her partner, who could not be with us, was. I should also mention that she speaks totally normally.
So in total contrast we now move to BBC Breakfast this morning which ran a near 15 minute LGBTABCXYZ story at about 0840. For some reason, the gay males selected had that effiminate limp-wrist accent. Why?
The presenters (Charkie and Naga was it?) were virtually falling over themselves to be the most right-on LGBT supporters.
The whole thing was just pure nauseating indoctrination and propaganda.
Which I for one do not need, as shown above.
I don’t think the BBC represent anyone but themselves.
I wondered why Sophie Rayworth was wearing black to read the 10pm BBC1 news. I presumed it was a sublimed message re BoJo’s success. But then the item about Grenfell. This from the BBC that couldn’t be bothered to allow their newsreader to have a black tie when the Queen Mother died.
BBC never miss an opportunity to have a dig at Trump although seems they were slow to jump on this bandwagon – “British humor in the BBC”! Come to think of it, they may have started the bandwagon.

Saint Donald is over 70, he has the most difficult job on the planet.
A job in which he has, despite all “Democrat” efforts, succeeded.
Whilst maintaining, most of the time, a pleasant demeanour.
The MuslimObamaQueer and DeplorableHillarywiththePervyHusband couldn’t run a whelk stall, except downhill.
So if St. Donald wishes to use US spelling, that is fine by me.
You dimwits at the BBC had better enjoy yourselves now, because after St. Nigel has closed the world’s least trusted broadcaster, you will be unemployable.
Suck it up.
Brexit for ever.
remainiac kinnock who would ignore our vote because it doesn’t suit him and his family , thinks its un-democratic to appoint a new PM without a general election , gordon brown anyone.
The comedian has started “speaking” now sorry not sure what her disabilty is , BUT really its impossible to listen to, OFF button
Flat screen TVs are simply too expensive to risk watching any more of tonight’s QT. It has to be the worst bar none, with the possible exception of the 9/11 US Ambassador brought to tears by hijabed harridans.
I can only assume the BBC have a death wish – maybe they’ve done a Maxwell and spent the pension fund?
p
“Great shame to see Sajid Javid suddenly play the race/religion card”
You believed him hitherto? Because?
“despite the fact he isn’t Muslim..he’s non-practising.”
You believe that as well?
Allegedly non-practising. And I am prepared to swear an oath, on the Beano, that I do not believe any of those with a c1500 year history of, well, lying. Because it is in their RNA.
LCS, the thing that disqualifies Sajid Javid as PM for me is his blind, unthinking(!) (as an economist) adherence to a discredited theory and a discredited Conservative Party policy that will further damage the economy of the UK.
Savid Javid (peace be upon him) was not invited to the palace dinner with Trump. As he is a non practicing moslem why is the moslem council of GB so concerned?
The Muslim Council of Britain has written to Theresa May asking her if Sajid Javid was not invited to the state banquet with Donald Trump because he is of Muslim heritage.
Britain’s leading Islamic organisation asked the outgoing prime minister why the home secretary appeared to be the only senior cabinet minister not invited and whether that was done to avoid antagonising the US president.
“There are fears that our nation is willing to give up on our principles of fairness and equality for all, in order to placate President Trump, even going so far as to exclude our home secretary solely due to his Muslim heritage,” the letter concludes.

They are shi..t stirrers and don’t seem bothered that Teresa May wasn’t invited to Obama’s State visit when she was Home Secretary…why was that then?
Apart from editing Brand’s ‘joke’ out of the catch-up service, and as reported in the Express, the BBC are doubling down on their original statement.
/
a BBC spokesperson said: “Heresy is a long-running comedy programme where, as the title implies and as our listeners know, panellists often say things which are deliberately provocative and go against societal norms but are not intended to be taken seriously.”
“We carefully considered the programme before broadcast. It was never intended to encourage or condone violence, and it does not do so, but we have noted the strong reaction to it.”
“Comedy will always push boundaries and will continue to do so, but on this occasion we have decided to edit the programme.”
“We regret any offence we have caused.”
/
I wonder if that will be sufficient to get the BBC off the hook bearing in mind that they knew beforehand what was going to be broadcast?
CM,
“I wonder if that will be sufficient to get the BBC off the hook bearing in mind that they knew beforehand what was going to be broadcast?”
Aiding and abetting I’d say and equally, legally culpable. If discussed by the parties before hand, conspiracy. “When one person agrees with another to carry out a course of conduct which………”
The only journalist (I can find) who has addressed the BBC’s Jo Brand ‘joke’ in an unbiased manner is Delingpole-
/
Even though I suggested just now on a podcast I did with John Gaunt that Jo Brand should be sacked, I actually don’t think she should be. I don’t even want her reprimanded because I think there’s something hollow and insincere about these kind of skin-saving, sanctimonious public apologies. Also, I believe that comedians of whatever political hue should be able to crack tasteless jokes because being tasteless is part of a comedian’s job.
Tell you what I would do, though: scrap the BBC licence fee. That way if viewers and listeners want to make a principled objection to the relentlessly leftwards direction the BBC is headed then at least they can vote with their feet — and hit the BBC where it most hurts: in the budget.

That unpleasant Brand woman: I see that she now claims her ‘comments’ weren’t a mistake. This follows on an ‘apology’, according to the Mirror.
So we have an apology, immediately contradicted, it seems?
She has to go.
Beeb?
Police/CPS?
Or are we now all free to encourage/incite GBH, as long as we wrapped it in a ‘joke?’. We can follow up and say that -joke or not- we meant it. Or is all this OK, as long as we are employed by the BBC?
About the Brand kerfuffle . I firmly believe in free speech and humour and the right to state opinions freely But watching people like Brand getting caught up in their own machinery which was expressly designed to supress free expression is one of life’s little pleasures . Also the double standards and hypocrisy of the Left have been beautifully exposed by this latest episode.
Toady watch – I was so going to avoid – but I hear the end of a chat between out justin and one Joe Owen – of something called the ‘institute of government ‘.
We can’t leave the ReichEU on 31 October because
1Businesses won’t bother because we didn’t leave last time
2There won’t be enough warehouses because it’s the run up to Christmas
3 businesses planned last time but can be bothered to do it again .
Our Justin didn’t swear at this idiot . I did .
For remainers to use the
‘Not ready ‘ argument again is almost beyond believe and even the least informed voter with the slightest knowledge of Brexit will say
‘ so how long do you need the? What have you been doing ?
I think the BBC is going back to trying to wear people down further into not caring or wanting brexit – the answer to this is the brexit party – which doesnt seen to register at all in the bbc group think .
Next – jokes
Since it is the second anniversary of a fire I wonder if jo brand is going to do a ‘stand up’ featuring some amusing fire jokes about burning politicians she doesn’t like as well as chucking acid at them .
Next boris
I’m warming to boris just because of his avoidance of the media . Very wise. Same with a TV debate – don’t bother – why throw meat to the wolves – stick to your guns . Get us out by 31 October no deal and close that parliamentary cess pit . Please
Mo looks like one keen on Citizens’ Assemblies, doubtless headed by ‘community leaders’ arriving in such positions without bothering much about public wishes.

“We don’t expect our politicians, our prime ministers to be saints, but we do require a basic level of morality and integrity.”
I have not heard of him before, probably because he has spent the last five years, apologising once a
minute, every minute, to every white female child gang raped by Muslim paedophiles.
“basic level of morality and integrity” Muslims have never got that high.
They need to understand that, with their history, they do not get to lecture ANY non Muslims.
Get your ‘Yorkie Bar’ now before it gets banned. The PC Brigade are on to them.
Isn’t it time that the PC Brigade got banned . IMHO it all stems from Al Beeb and their PC agenda with its critical analysis of commercial broadcasters.
Remove the agenda from them by starving them of funding and not paying the Telly Tax.
They can’t chase all of us .
Indeed Taff … The snowflake, PC brigade , very much aided and abetted by the likes of the BBC , need culling and sooner rather than later.
My wife wanted to put up a clothing rail in our built in wardrobe, I had to stop her using nails and explained she’d have to drill, use rawl plugs and screws! Adverts target the general way we live our lives. A lot of snowflakery here!????

I understand that gender stereotypes are banned in advertising from today . When I was a kid I fancied a career in advertising -.and found that in order to get a message across in 30 seconds any stereotype trigger made it easier . I wonder if they’ll stop doing the normal mixed race – black man blond woman combo so beloved of furniture ads and only having black people eating KFC?
I suppose the
result will be less human beings in adverts and more puppets . Simples – as it were .
It’s a sad day .
Chooka the mooner has left politics and joined the liberals . The man who could have been the black milliband now reduced to that . Has the BBC interviewed him ? He used to be their go to black politician who could do sums . Now he just seems to have been caste aside. Did he do an ‘ acid ‘ joke ?
Fed,
Chooka’s on his third manifesto now, presuming of course that he believes in the cause of each party he joins. Wonder how that sits with his constituents, especially the ones who voted Labour over the Libdamns?
So many people missing the real point behind the Jo Brand incident, a surprise especially here where it’s only been touched on.
What Brand said is almost universally agreed as appalling and unacceptable – at a very shallow level, as no one should be attacked with acid for any reason.
At a deeper level though, the motivation for this incitement is Brand own self confessed fantasy of causing life changing injuries to anyone who dares disagree with her own twisted hate filled view of the world.
This kind of thinking might well fall into the catagory of mental illness.
Yet there is more, and worse to come, because the national propaganda service has backed her fantasy to the hilt.
Yes that’s right, the corporation which sacked a DJ David Lowe merely for daring to play “The sun has got his hat on” is actually defending someone advocating attacking right of centre politicians with acid on the grounds that its funny!
This is one of the most open and egregious acts of left wing bias I have ever seen the BBC engaged in. Some eldery man plays a double plus ungood record and gets fired, some woman says she wants to attack thought criminals and she is defended.
The Jo Brand story is not just about her hate an extreme violence, it about the BBCs complicity in that hate and violence for those whose views it deems unacceptable.
Ms Brand was discussing politics in violent terms on Heresy and although she said she wouldn’t actually attack somebody in that way should a politician be on the receiving end of a corrosive substance, Ms Brand would be directly to blame.
But I cannot help but remember that it was ‘Our Jo’ who reported Carole Thatcher for a remark about someone’s hair – made in the green room and not broadcast. Carole Thatcher was immediately dropped by the BBC. Describing someone’s hair – however tasteless – does not cause physical harm.
Jo Brand made her remark on radio and was a remark which could promote violence. She may not be employed by the BBC but it doesn’t seem unreasonable for her to be treated in the same way as Carole Thatcher and not used in future programming.
\\ DJ David Lowe merely for daring to play “The sun has got his hat on”//
He wasn’t sacked
\\ Boss Emma Clements reportedly told Lowe while he had “properly” dealt with his mistake, she thought it would best for him to step aside.
After his exit, Lowe claimed he was asked to say he was pursuing other interests but he refused //
The report said they offered him his job back
and he refused considering the bad vibe.
‘Unbeknown to me, however, that very OLD recording of The Sun Has Got His Hat On faintly contained the N word.’
“To shut down parliament would be simple. But it would be an outrage Vernon Bogdanor”
[At this point the outrage is discussed, and its possible consequences analysed. Not being a professor of Government, I am unable to to assess how accurately this is performed. I can, however assess its neutrality, there isn’t any.]
“The danger of such an amendment, some might object, is that an extreme Brexiteer such as Raab …”
“and the extreme Brexiteers, as well as the Brexit party, would be disarmed [The author hopes] once parliament had passed an amended withdrawal agreement [Which probably will not be Brexit.] ….”
[The author is unable to discover any extreme Remainiacs in the HoC, probably has not even considered that they might exist. Alternatively the author might be a Remainiac, approving of the anti Brexit activities by traitors.]
“Vernon Bogdanor is professor of government at King’s College, London, and author of Beyond Brexit”
[From the current Bogdanor, Wikipedia article “Professor Bogdanor’s most famous former student is David Cameron, who became Conservative Party leader and served as Prime Minister from 2010 to 2016. Bogdanor described Cameron as “one of the ablest” students he has taught, whose political views were “moderate and sensible Conservative”.[4]”]
[Plenty of outrage in the, unusually allowed, comments, outrage that Brexit might actually occur.]
Eg
“Stew64 22h ago
If parliament was shut down for 3 months that would be a coup. It’s totally undemocratic and would probably produce vast protests and mass disorder. ‘Taking back control’ eh?”
“cavecanem 22h ago
Note also that Nancy Pelosi said there was zero chance of a UK/US trade deal if current N Ireland soft border arrangements are compromised. Would the US wait it out to see how a sunset clause or similar worked out?”
[Pelosi the new POTUS? Back of the queue again, at least you can rely on the “Democrats” to be pro EU and anti UK.]
I was trying to find out how many parliamentary working days there are from now until 31 October .
I wanted the actual number but came up with ‘ not a lot ‘. They go on their holidays soon and come back in September for a bit and then go off firvthe Party annual jollies – then it’s october .
So closing parliament wouldn’t be a big deal in real life . I don’t know the constitutional stuff as to the position of the speaker but the current person would use every trick to make brexiters look bad . Whoever wins the next election – at least he ll be gone .
Fed up,
I think I give up on trying to follow what’s going on with our politics. How many votes are there going to be? How many votes for parliamentarians & government ministers? We the people had one vote and they’ve had about a dozen all trying to work out how they can put the kibosh on our decision. It’s a corrupt and dysfunctional mob not a working government.
Lucy
As you may know., I have a strong liking for popcorn and my intake is rapidly increasing .
Project Fear is back . They are doing medicine shortages again and people dying in the streets for lack of Andrews liver salts .
They’ve made the collective british mind forget about the MEP elections all those days ago because the dumb thick voters didn’t know what they were doing again .
So as the EU said ( quite rightly ) when it agreed a A50 extension ‘use the time wisely ‘. Instead weeks are being wasted getting boris the top job .
Now I’m no fan of boris as I’m prejudiced against young middle or old Etonians – but boris does have a sense of humour . So when he gets the top job – instead of closing parliament for the period to 1 November {which they think is scandalous) why not keep the Commons Open ? No summer hols and jollies for the oh so hard working bubble swamp …. Imagine the reaction to that one ….
“So as the EU said ( quite rightly ) when it agreed a A50 extension ‘use the time wisely ‘. Instead weeks are being wasted getting boris the top job ”
Weeks? Three years this went on for without any ‘wasting time getting Boris the top job’. I honestly don’t think these weeks are here nor there as the Remain parliament remains.
A UKIP victory in 2017 would have made a difference. Those were the three weeks of campaigning that mattered. Water under the bridge I know.
Not Gwent – I’m a brexit extremist . I want out of the jurisdiction of the EU . No buts no ifs – . If the EU cares so much about the NI border it can deal with it .
However – as the remainer Parliament got down in the weeds the A50 extension had to be obtained after they had delayed so long . Brexiteers have patiently sat and waited and only been able to inflict damage when the MEP elections came as a result of the extension .
Maybe once boris installs a brexit cabinet and gets compliance of token remainers he needs – he can go off to Brussels – or summons them to London to tell them we are leaving before A50 expires …
—- unless of course the court finds we have left already ….
Friend of mine who is a keen, passionate Remainer, well he has a second house in the EU so it is understandable, used to say ‘If the whole of Westminster & Whitehall were to disappear overnight, would the country continue as normal? Of course it would.’
I wonder if he thinks that way now? He used to be a Bojo fan, too. I wonder if he thinks that way now?
Ask the families why they haven’t moved David !!! Offer after offer of suitable accommodation turned down …they are NOT the victims you like to portray , they are chancers !! Pure and simple.
Refusing a house as its 1 mile away from the school …… the Council should be doing only one thing now … and that’s Discharging Duty under the housing legislation. You just cannot help some folk.
Too many survivors have still not been rehoused and are still living in hotels and temporary accommodation two years after the fire. As of 23rd May this included 17 households living in temporary homes, serviced apartments or hotels.
I think as part of the celebration of their fire the BBC should run through a list of the names nationalities and money defrauded by criminals who claimed to be survivors . Maybe 50? Make the whole thing more ‘ diverse ‘ .
He is off again….before twotting has he actually spoken to these people and found out why they haven’t accepted alternative accommodation? May be they prefer a nice hotel with washing and food to a cramped little flat or are holding out for a 4 bed detached property in central London?
TOADY Watch #summary back in time from 8.30a.m. to 7a.m..
JustRemainIn Webb when presented with the future folly of abandoning plastic, the policy of a now political BBC, struggles on air to find enough brain cells to rub together to realise that what he has just been told about the stupidity of Blue Planet and a future without plastic is absolutely true.
H h hunt’s H happy to serve in a Bojo-led Cabinet. H h hancock is still h hhesitating about being h half-hhearted and pulling out of the Tory leadership race. Meanwhile, Jeremy is jumping but not jumping. Jumping To or Not Jumping To. Conclusions over whether Iran actually attacked the tankers in the Straits of Hormuz. He makes Bojo look positively decisive. His mind is made up but he wants to look at the evidence. Aaaaughh …. the Ghost of Skripal … h h hovers.
Meanwhile, it was Extinction Rebellion wot dun it! (in Sun-speak)
Or as an ER spokesperson might possibly describe it:
“Yeah, it was like awesome. So … we couldn’t let all that oil causing like really bad CO2 to go to Japan where it would cause us and all the planet all to go extinct like, making stuff like evil cars and hi-fi and cameras and stuff like phones and MP3 players, OK, well maybe not those are evil but the other stuff is SOoo evil and is harming the planet and our futures and everything, so we got like Emma Thompson to fly over from LA and we took her out to the Gulf and we fired her into the side of a tanker and it like blew up and you know what was really cool was that we used like no CO2 at all to do it but she was propelled by just her own hot air like. It was SOo cool.”
Should we worry about war with Iran or anyone else? There may be another Dictator along soon. Rory has a Personal Political Project. That sounded rather unpleasant to me: In a State with Stewart in da Street!
Bojo suddenly appears almost attractive as a bumbling PM. Well, maybe not. What is that guy Rory Stewart on? Saw a photo of him speaking yesterday. He did not look at all normal. Guess that’s why the Beeb like him as the anti-Brexit candidate for PM.
If H h hancock is h hhalf-h hearted, John H h ealy is h his own usual devious Labour h housing self. He almost makes Corbyn & McDonnell appear nice and cuddly to me. But Chuka is the one.
He is listening but not listening. Like JustRemainIn Webb he also is thinking but not thinking.
Chuka wants to end the old two Party system so he is joining a Party, the LimpNonDems that wants to split the House of Commons into a pro-Brexit and anti-Brexit Parliament. Now, let me start counting Chuka, that’s one Party for and another one against. Uummmmhhhh. I make that 2, two, TWO, Parties. I’ve got six fingers and two thumbs to spare for some more counting. What was that again that is so bad, Chuka, about the two Party system that we do not actually currently have? Aah, Chuka Umunna. Listening but not listening.
Over 75s and the BBC Tax: Charles Moore sums it up perfectly in The Spectator:
“……. the decision will, in fact, empower them ……. Now that they will have to pay £154.50 a year, they will carefully consider whether it is worth it, and therefore become a pressure group which the BBC cannot so easily scorn. There will be two other effects. The first will be that large numbers of tottering elderly persons will be hauled before the magistrate for non-payment, exciting public rage against the Corporation. The second will be a great technological advance among the white-haired as they learn from their grandchildren how to watch all sorts of interesting things through all sorts of interesting media without having to pay anything at all to the BBC.”
With regard to alleged man made climate change.
Why do men get blamed? Are women not equally culpable?
Anyway, I would be interested to know, by how much we could reduce energy consumption by doing away with mobile devices.
All of the younger generation seem to be glued to their mobile phones 24/7. The mobile networks use lots of energy keeping their data servers running, which in turn needs cooling, hence air conditioning and the use of refrigerants
So, are these kids willing to give up their mobile devices and go back to good old fashioned “playing out” and reading books in order to save the planet? Probably not. I don’t think they can even imagine life without their mobile phones.
Should the bbc see Jo as a necessary sacrifice, a new female comedy star is born…
WATCH | "Many people don't feel the BBC represents them. Last week all five of the people on this panel voted Remain!" @MarkReckless exposes blatant BBC bias – and just look at how desperate Fiona Bruce is to change the subject!
Guest
The bias is backfiring and becoming a weapon to use against that programme . Judging by the hostess’ demeanour the BBC is very sensitive to its attempt to subvert democracy over – what ? 4 years including the ‘out’ campaign .
It is definitely a mission to identify the enemy weaknesses . It’s now given us the , TV licence for the elderly nonsense , the jo brand monster and with a bit of luck it will keep giving this week. I notice the bbc is not saying much about viewing figures for the checkatrade girls cup nonsense . Is this because the viewing figures are so low they can’t be measured ?
We all know full well Jon Sopel suffers uncontrollably from TDS, here is another one of his impartial tweets from last night .
I think there is an arithmetic issue here: 3 and a half years at the WH means she was there for last year of @BarackObama – – umm i don't think so…. https://t.co/FsjT9OQnO4
BBC hey ….. now down to the gutter level of pettiness befitting of a organisation that needs closing down asap.
Just pathetic Jon …. downright ….PATHETIC
Maga’s got his measure
I think it’s actually stupidity on your part Jon Sopel. You have no idea what Sara Sanders might have done for the President before Press Sec… Or maybe it was a typo. Either way, you look like the idiot with TDS… Grow up. @realDonaldTrump#MAGA
The BBC clearlly can’t cope when called out over its Brexit bias.
Last night’s Question Time had Fiona Bruce blatantly telling fibs about the make up of its panels.
The Brexit Party’s Mark Reckless, debating the licence fee, pointed out that many people did not feel represented by the BBC and he went on to state that all five of the previous week’s QT panellists were Remainers.
He was immediately cut off by a clearly agitated Bruce, and then cut off a second time as he tried to continue his point.
The presenter claimed: “Only one of the panel actually was campaigning for Remain.”
And then she added: “We had one person supporting Remain last week.”
A lie, of course. And Mr Reckless’s point about BBC bias was duly reinforced.
Headmistress Bruce also presents a show called Fake Or Fortune. She knows a thing or two about faking it.
So I read that MP Chuka Umunna has quite ChangeUK to Join the Lib Dems after quitting Labour to join ChangeUK a very short while back. He says effectively that the reason for quitting ChangeUK is because he didn’t realise that nobody would be interested in it. He then starts to discuss the possibility of leading the Lib Dem party chuckling “I’m a newbie”. Can’t help but conclude that he is not so much looking for a party to join as a bosses job and that it doesn’t really matter who with. I would guess that if he thought it would mean going straight into No. 10 he would have aimed for the Conservative Party….
“Change UK
On 18 February 2019, Umunna and six other MPs (Luciana Berger, Chris Leslie, Angela Smith, Mike Gapes, Gavin Shuker, and Ann Coffey) quit Labour in protest at Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership to form The Independent Group (later Change UK).[71] The Independent Group named Umunna as its Spokesman on 28 February 2019.[72]
On 24 May 2019, Umunna wrote in the i newspaper that Change UK would be open to a pro-EU pact with the Liberal Democrats in order to unite the Remain vote.[73][74] On 4 June, after Change UK’s poor results in the EU election, Umunna left the party with five of its other MPs who did not wish for Change UK to stand candidates at future elections.[75][76] Subsequently, Change UK’s new leader, Anna Soubry, said that Umunna had made a “serious mistake” in leaving the party.[77][78]
Liberal Democrats
On 13 June 2019, Umunna announced to The Times that he would be joining the Liberal Democrats.[79]”
Dear Victoria
I’ve confessed my admiration in an earlier post – as a truly quick-witted and genuinely gifted and attractive woman, married to an equally quick-witted and charismatic man. Yet I was also critical of your defence of Jo Brand, suggesting that you were demeaning yourself.
Now that the BBC have chosen to so publicly defend her, might I suggest that you disassociate yourself from ‘Heresy’?
That would be a brave move, implicitly critical of your employer although no doubt applauded by many. I also feel sure it would gain total approval from another truly funny and admirable man who would have recognised Ms Brand for all she represents, your dad.
Without the great Alan Coren, I wonder if Victoria or Giles would have got a foot in the door; Richard Dimbleby and hs boys, Jonathan and David; Sue Pollard (former editor of The Sunday Express) and mother of Claudia Winkleman; Peter Snow, television presenter and journalist and father of that towering intellect, Dan Snow; Desmond Wilcox and Esther Rantzen, parents of Rebecca Wilcox who is a presenter of several BBC programmes;
I’m sure it was a huge coincidence and they were all the the best “applicants” for the jobs and had to go through a rigorous regime of interviews (Peter Snow’s son appearing in his father’s documentaries was just a coincidence, it could have been anybody?).
I hate to give the BBC a good kicking while it’s lying on the ground so I won’t mention the former Controller of BBC 1, Alan Yentob and his connection with Camila Batmanghelidjh and Kid’s Company.
Yentob and Batmangheldijh made a joint appearance before a parliamentary select committee investigating the charity’s collapse. Their performance was widely described as disastrous. In the New Statesman, the political commentator Anoosh Chakelian said they were a “duo of epically proportioned egos” who made “as little sense – and as many accusations – as possible” before the panel of MPs.
Yentob has acknowledged that he stood in the studio of the Today programme while Batmanghelidjih was being interviewed, later saying that he wished to hear what she had to say and was not attempting to intimidate staff. He also telephoned a senior member of staff at Newsnight, asking the programme to “delay a report critical of financial management at Kids Company”, and telephoned the Radio 4 presenter Ed Stourton before a report in The World at One. The BBC Trust, under chairwoman Rona Fairhead, investigated these interventions, although senior BBC management were reported to have reassured the Trust that they did not compromise editorial independence at the BBC.
The Commons Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Committee report heavily criticised Yentob. He was described as someone who condoned excessive spending and lacked proper attention to his duties. The BBC is also accused of poor leadership for failing to take action against him when he tried to make suggestions about the BBC’s reporting of Kids Company.
In July 2009 Yentob was revealed to have accumulated a pension worth £6.3m, giving an annual retirement income of £216,667 for the rest of his life. This is one of the biggest pensions in the public sector. He earns £200,000 – £249,999 as a BBC contributor and presenter. He is paid a declared salary of £183,000 by the BBC, but additional income from the BBC for presenting and other roles is reputed to earn him an extra £150,000, bringing his BBC income to an estimated £330,000.
All financed, courtesy of the television licence tax.
Nobody could possibly deny the degree of nepotism rife within the BBC – and most of the examples you give shamelessly confirm the fact – but some are worse than others. Naturally it should depend on merit and ability but, in the Dimbleby’s case, sitting on a £12.4m fortune from the sale of their father’s local newspaper empire does tend to make life a shade less stressful. The Snows simply give nepotism a bad name but, although I must admit prejudice, I quite like both the Coren siblings.
Only a small point of detail, but I’m sure you meant Eve Pollard – not the Hi-De-Hi version! Eve, other than possessing the most stupendous bust in Fleet St, has gone down in history for the line: ‘When I gave birth to Claudia Winkelman….’ which brought to mind a uniquely mascarra’d and rather frenetic child.
“Sue Pollard”, what was I thinking Beltane! I always remember a tabloid story from when Eve Pollard was editor of a national tabloid. She sacked her chauffeur when he refused to buy her a box of tampons for her. Nice woman.
“In July 2009 Yentob was revealed to have accumulated a pension worth £6.3m, giving an annual retirement income of £216,667 for the rest of his life. But he needs the lolly as without it he could no longer afford to buy all those ugly paintings by those hip London artists who no one has heard about except his inner London whiskey testing cronies. Oh, bye the way they also get that rare whiskey paid for by those old complaining pensioners – obviously they don’t know about it as the silly old fools might cause a storm of protest.
Idea! Do a Brand sleaze or something like it deflect any shame on Sir Yentob.
When you say ‘He earns £200,00…etc, etc, how would you define the word ‘earns’?
I believe the same level of confusion might run throughout the BBC pay-scale system.
Cassandra –
Nice post .im sure there is a kind of bubble map thing which links up the swamp dwellers by university , family connection and whatever unregulated network which goes beyond meritocracy .
I think the whole thing goes beyond decency when some rich beeboid asks poorer punters to part with their money for some questionable ‘charity ‘ – and so much goes on ‘consultancy ‘ and ‘admin ‘ fees . …….
( I remain shocked to this day that the late terry wogan took £55k for doing ‘children in need’. ) – I don’t mind being corrected on this memory ….
Anyone giving money to a load of fantasists on huge salaries, to pay for a similar bunch of crooks, really need their bumps felt!
The likes of that bloke Henry, Woss etc. deserve absolutely nothing, but blame that Irish pillock and his mate, Gelding and Bonio for poisoning the wells. Pricks like gorBlammy have made it even worse, and I reckon the tattooed, shaven-headed loser sitiing on the pavement by a cash machine has a better chance of getting my ‘spare cash’ than any pampered sleb on a jolly. (the tat bloke/girl won’t get a penny of course, it all goes to The Kent Air Ambulance, which actually works for it’s status)!
We never ever watched Wogan, and disliked all his programmes after a few minutes, so I cannot comment, rather than to say that £55,000 gold splonders could have paid for quite a lot of flying visits by helicopter in my chosen beloved county.
I hope you all listening to R4.
Where Ms Sidhu has replaced Ms Marple, in an investigation in Scotland. I think Mr Sandhu is also there. It will be exciting in a Rawalpindi or Colcotta sort of fashion. Masulipatnam comes to Mahcrihanichnich…
Colonisation?
I thought we were all into decolonisation?
Anyone listening to R4. I am working at home and flick in and out..so far all I have heard is Desert Island – men are bad – wimmins hour – men are bad, women don’t get a fair shake – now some play??? Sounds like an Indian family and the men are lazy idiots and women are great and discuss sex tool using innuendo…how the F*** do people get commissioned to make this crap…it isn’t even funny..I could save the BBC a shed load of money to help pay for over 75’s.. Off switch pressed
James
Every so often ( less frequently ) I play the ‘white normal bloke ‘ game with R4 . I award a prize if there is one programme on which is not about some suffering minority – normally foreign -about how terrible things in Blighty are –
But it’s not worth the effort any more . Like hundreds of thousands of others – there are better things to listen to or do….
Thought this might be interesting. It’s a megamix of people calling Jeremy Hunt “Jermery C***”. I’d say the vast majority of these “mistakes” are by the BBC.
Tabs
I see that the c word is part of the tweet and thus not amenable to the biased BBC Stasi – me to remove . In the circumstances unless anyone don’t like it – I’ll leave it there as it is part of the context of the issue.
Sometime when I’m functioning as the ‘cleaner ‘ I feel really uncomfortable having to decide whether certain words are acceptable or not – . Having come from a ‘robust ‘ background there is no naughty word in the English language with which I am not totally accustomed .
But separate rule apply in the status of a website which I hope is attracting more attention as good people realise what an evil – yes evil – the BBC currently is.
Adrian Chiles on R5 chatting with a couple of female ballers and saying that the keepers look so small between those goalposts… should the women’s game have smaller goals or even smaller pitches?
How does this fit with the push for equal coverage and equal pay with the men’s teams? I’m sure Chiles will get on to that asap…
This typifies just how out of touch with reality these London bubble, media types actually are. Rory would have Zero chance in a public vote Gary. Zero. They just have not got a clue …. not a friggin clue
If the next Tory party leader and therefore PM were to be elected by the general public, I reckon @RoryStewartUK would win hands down. Only candidate making any sense and reason of all the madness. It’s not though, so he more than certainly won’t. https://t.co/J5FDquqalI
Was Gary around in 2007? Did Gary notice that Gordon Brown wasn’t ‘elected by the general public’? Did Gary notice Gordon Brown wasn’t even elected by his party?
What’s wrong Gary; is the memory not what it used to be?
They say a diet of potato crisps can affect memory.
As for Rory he’s an ideal candidate – provided you don’t think of Gollum while being mesmerised by his ‘charisma’.
And did Garry know about Brown flying in some of his Government friends and MET detectives hours after news broke about Madeleine McCann going missing?
I seems that Browns government like the BBC was awash with cash.
Sounds like todays BBC.
So that’s why Brown dropped that note to the new PM re there was “no money left”
And even last week the parents of Madeleine were dished out loads more taxpayers cash. It never ends does it.
To this very day it still worries me why Brown and his celeb friends rejected any suggestion of Childs death in the apartment?
BBC yesterday evening described Rory as having charisma….I think he is probably a nice chap but charisma?
It is more of a warped bizzare interest when you see him – a bit like when you watch an ant carrying a huge leaf…
But then again R4 news did describe Brand’s attempt at humour as a ‘quip’…so maybe they don’t understand English.
It is clear the BBC don’t like Boris and are out to undermine his campaign
I wonder how many signers will be on the planes to the Olympics and the Euros to name but two major old-boys reunion? Of course all at licence payers expense – again.
Some animals are more equal than others
How many classes are there in this country ?
Diane Abbott may have been milkshaked by some nutter
Would anyone on the BBC be saying this
“Diane is such a harm for this country .. so I milkshake is not enough.. it should be battery acid
..nah I am only joking .. it’s just a fantasy of mine !’
No , cos the BBC would called it racist, saying that cos Dianne is black woman it is not a caustic joke at her, but rather an attack on all blacks, and all women.
Likewise if the victim was LGBT or Muslim
so in BBC Metro liberal-land we have two classes
Minorities who are immediately classified as VICTIM
And SWM straight white males, who you can be caustic about.
Some SWM can join the minority protected class by constantly virtue-signalling they are in the libmob gang
But the rest the non-libmob SWM are the underclass the new Jews
and within that groups the rabbis who speak up like Farage/Tommy/Carl are an under under class
You can punch them, milkshake them, send a witch-shouting gang to surround them, blockade them in a pub etc. and that is OK
As Carl says this is very Orwellian
And Brand’s joke was not bad cos it was caustic
but cos it forms part of this one sided brainwashing programme of building up hate
..a pogrom against non-libmob people
I guess we all ponder (some of us, long and hard), in respect of the general state of the World and in particular our homeland. I seek answers and that includes sifting through the stuff available on the net to determine what is good or bad info. A little while ago I came across reference to a book which I have since bought and am about two-thirds through. The book is, ‘The Red Trojan Horse, A concise Analysis of Cultural Marxism’ by Alasdair Elder. I’m happy with the pithy style of the writer and that’s why the work is a mere 147 pages long. I deviate.
Anyway, in the book the Author asserts that the nonsense around us, had its current genesis in the 60’s / 70’s and he supports this claim by reference to the, “…..disparate threads of Cultural Marxism (which) came into print; it was called, ‘Rules for Radicals’ written by Saul Alinsky. Apparently this publication has become the, “….fundamental cornerstone in the application of Cultural Marxist activism…”. Here you can find Alinsky’s 12 Rules for, what is in effect, destroying any semblance of normality. Enjoy and see the connections: https://bolenreport.com/saul-alinskys-12-rules-radicals/

In other words they are all portrayed as either heroes or victims. No mention of the rapes, grooming, FGM, primitive and disgusting rituals, inhumane animal slaughtering and of course murdering of homosexuals.
Or maybe they’ll cover that in episode 2 ?

I don’t think I can carry on much longer………………….

I wonder …. . . .

Savid Javid (peace be upon him) was not invited to the palace dinner with Trump. As he is a non practicing moslem why is the moslem council of GB so concerned?
https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/jun/07/muslim-council-asks-why-sajid-javid-was-excluded-from-trump-banquet

Left wing chubby brand can say what she wants and can incite violence to some politicians and brexit supporters and that’s acceptable to bbc.
Their example of what Nigel said in the past was for sure metaphor and totally out of context. Thanks pug for highlighting that so clearly.
How can one massive corporation that we are forced to pay for with a one sided left wing propaganda machine get away with this.
It wouldnt be so bad if the bbc had balance or we had a choice of paying for it but it isn’t and we don’t.
It makes you wonder why doesn’t a conservative government not just force them to have balance or do a subscription service.

I wonder if that will be sufficient to get the BBC off the hook bearing in mind that they knew beforehand what was going to be broadcast?
Maybe depends on how the Police treat the allegation of incitement to violence .

State Broadcaster has a new poster girl to go with Begum.
How can Brand go without it looking like a scalp?
A point about all this is the equality of treatment of offence. If Baker was sacked on the spot Brand should have been.
If what Brand did is seen as OK then Baker needs to be reinstated.

Please

Guardian Opinion Brexit

“……. the decision will, in fact, empower them …….

Without the great Alan Coren, I wonder if Victoria or Giles would have got a foot in the door; Richard Dimbleby and hs boys, Jonathan and David; Sue Pollard (former editor of The Sunday Express) and mother of Claudia Winkleman; Peter Snow, television presenter and journalist and father of that towering intellect, Dan Snow; Desmond Wilcox and Esther Rantzen, parents of Rebecca Wilcox who is a presenter of several BBC programmes;

Cass,
“In July 2009 Yentob was revealed to have accumulated a pension worth £6.3m, giving an annual retirement income of £216,667 for the rest of his life. This is one of the biggest pensions in the public sector. He earns £200,000 – £249,999 as a BBC contributor and presenter. He is paid a declared salary of £183,000 by the BBC, but additional income from the BBC for presenting and other roles is reputed to earn him an extra £150,000, bringing his BBC income to an estimated £330,000”

Too right Fed!

Sounds like an Indian family and the men are lazy idiots and women are great and discuss sex tool using innuendo…how the F*** do people get commissioned to make this crap…it isn’t even funny..I could save the BBC a shed load of money to help pay for over 75’s.. Off switch pressed

**WOMEN’S FOOTBALL EPISODE 24,789**
Adrian Chiles on R5 chatting with a couple of female ballers and saying that the keepers look so small between those goalposts… should the women’s game have smaller goals or even smaller pitches?
How does this fit with the push for equal coverage and equal pay with the men’s teams? I’m sure Chiles will get on to that asap…

Do women play tennis on smaller courts?

No. But they have fewer balls.

The whole women’s tennis scene is an absolute racket.

Ed,
” a show called Fake Or Fortune. She knows a thing or two about faking it.”
I noticed that she never faked her swearing on one of the said programmes I unavoidably had to watch.
Since then my opinion of this BBC employee fell to zero.

This typifies just how out of touch with reality these London bubble, media types actually are. Rory would have Zero chance in a public vote Gary. Zero. They just have not got a clue …. not a friggin clue

Not,
And did Garry know about Brown flying in some of his Government friends and MET detectives hours after news broke about Madeleine McCann going missing?
I seems that Browns government like the BBC was awash with cash.
Sounds like todays BBC.
So that’s why Brown dropped that note to the new PM re there was “no money left”
And even last week the parents of Madeleine were dished out loads more taxpayers cash. It never ends does it.
To this very day it still worries me why Brown and his celeb friends rejected any suggestion of Childs death in the apartment?
I simply love English Springer Spaniels.

Saw yet another new BBC TV News signer for the deaf this morn.
Awash with cash.
Why do they need signers? Can the deaf not read subtitles, which are available for most programmes these days?

D,
Tis a mystery indeed.
I wonder how many signers will be on the planes to the Olympics and the Euros to name but two major old-boys reunion? Of course all at licence payers expense – again.

Enjoy and see the connections:

Interviewing Boris – or sorry attacking Boris…..now getting Guardian to critique him…what a pile of shite…when will the BBC realise that listeners want to hear is the interviewee and not the interviewer…
now going to ‘selected’ members of public….would you vote for Boris Johnson? Funny they all seem to be against him except one?
It is definitely a knock Boris theme.. Boris Bias Corporation
