Unfortunately, parliament and establishment got their collective fingers burnt at the last referendum. I’m afraid there will be no further referendums for the foreseeable future.
Which means, we are not going to be asked questions which are far too complicated for us.
This also means that there will be more mass immigration of people who are not fit to live in Britain, many of whom harbour intent to replace our traditions with Islam.
For the present, one way or other, parliament will find a way to negate Brexit, relying on the docility of the British to get away with it.

I have been reading the transcript. (Since I signed the petition, the document was emailed to me).However, I will not bother with any of these petitions again. None of them seem to receive the respect they deserve nor inspire the need for focused debate. I admit I didn’t read this transcript all the way through as I became bored with the usual waffle and point-scoring. I gave up when it was suggested by one member that the BBC was right-wing. What’s the point? I mean really, what is the point?

Google told me that the above debate was live on YouTube on Monday. Good, I thought, I’ll play it while doing other things.
First thing I saw was Live chat is disabled for this video.
Next was that there is no box for comments. Then I tried to click on the video box, but it just sat and stared at me. And there are zero likes and dislikes.
Perhaps I should click on ‘like’ as at least the government is being honest here: when it comes to dealing with the BBC (and much else) the government has nothing of value to offer, nothing to say and just sits there like a brick wall.
I did read the blurb under the ‘video’ and was flabbergasted by this bit:

Right, so all they have to do to ignore the will of the people as expressed in these petitions is to be disinterested? How comforting and convenient for them and how bloody typical.

Last year I wrote a scathing letter to the management at Walkers crisps, in that they were continuing to use a ‘front man’ who, with his continuing belligerent views on Twitter, was surely not someone that Walker would want to be associated with.
They replied with, in effect, “what Mr Lineker does in his private time and cdoes not express the views of this company ” etc etc.
Surely those at Walkers must read the adverse comments of the public either on Twitter or in the press re his salary at the BBC and his contentious views, and it must set alarm bells ringing.
The current Walkers TV adverts feature the Spice Girls and an ethnic Pak guy

If we do leave the EU it will now almost certainly be without a deal. Only if that GE returns a heavily pro Brexit Parliament will they come back to the negotiating table and talk sensibly. Because of the Remainers almost certain wish to wreck the economy Boris will need to call an election quickly. I also think that he should give only the minimum of three weeks notice of the election. The longer the campaign the more damage the Remainers will do and the more the BBC et al will cause even more damage than they already have.Brexit hangs by a thread.

He most likely won’t be able to do that. Due to the Fixed-term Parliaments Act 2011, he would need the backing of two-thirds of the Commons. It’s doubtful he’d get this right now when so many Con/Lab MPs would risk losing their seats to Brexit/Green/LibDem.
Agree with much of what you say Doublethinker, however can we say that the conservatives will win a General Election? Right now I would say unlikely- The Brexit Party under Farage might well take any Conservative chance away, that could leave the LibDems with more power to negotiate a deal with Labour who will I think will fair badly in a GE. It could be possible for the Conservatives to work with the Brexit Party, who at least are singing from the same hymn sheet in wanting out of the EU and will work with a No Deal Bexit, which personally I favour.

Isn’t it remarkable that the politicians in charge of the EU would rather see their own people suffer along with us than agree a sensible trade deal, tellsyou all you need to know about the EU and it’s priorities.I too assume that Boris and Nigel will form an electoral pact and contest seats with only one pro Brexit candidate between them, and continue cooperation but not a coalition, until Brexit is secured. I think that the Greens, Lib Dem’s, Labour , Nationalists will find it more difficult to form an opposing electoral pact. But unless there is a substantial pro Brexit majority , over 60 seats, in the next Parliament the Remainer Brussels axis will still refuse to accept Brexit is a done deal. The HoL will also have to be put firmly back in its box.

I firmly believe the EU is incapable of negotiating in good faith, the only thing it adheres to is political calculation and to Hell with any consequences for the ordinary person

They mention that they have had a lot of demands to debate BBC but still cling to their views that the BBC is great….it is a bit like Brexit..the people speak and MPs ignore..truly pathetic
I don’t know what the debate was but if it involves MPs and the BBC the majority of MPs will always side with the BBC because they are scared to death of it wrecking their career. One of the possible big bonuses of Brexit will be that the ERG MPs have already been attacked by the BBC and it can’t do any worse to them than it already has, and TBP MPs are pledged to get rid of it. So it’s stranglehold over MPs may be fatally weakened by Brexit.

For the last hour ( or more ) there has been only one headline subject . It’s not hard to figure out who it might be , what he did or didn’t say , and what the left ‘reaction’ is .

The average number of hours at roadside sites where NO2 levels were moderate or higher has declined from 40 in 2007 to around 3 in 2017.

Surprise, surprise. They are a bunch of left wing nihilistic anarchists who want to bring down this, or possibly also other, governments.
Regrettably this level of saying it as it is does not extend to the bBBC ‘news’ coverage of the mass disruption they cause, which still consists of a jovial friendly supportive tone.
If only Extinction Rebellion would demonstrate outside New Broadcasting House. Just think of the reduction in hot air.

As a Bristol resident I am avoiding the centre of town this week since the ER crusties have taken over (with the full blessings of the council and police).
I don’t want to end up being arrested as the urge to punch them would be too strong.

Looking at the above photo of our law abiding “earth people” sunning themselves outside what looks like a castle (they would be used to castles – shooting parties with mummy and daddy and all that on a weekends etc)

I also live in Bristol and work very near to the protest site. I noticed whilst walking past the tent village that has sprung up in nearby Castle Park that one tent had “Exeter” painted on it, presumably they brought all their equipment up to Bristol by donkey and cart then? One protestor was writing on the pavement in chalk ” some people have taken time off work to join this protest”. I couldn’t help wondering if this was prompted by large numbers of passers-by telling them to f*ck off and get a job?. The numbers have conspicuously thinned a bit this morning, possibly due to the small amount of rain we had earlier.
An article on BBC Radio Newcastle this morning regarding the total public rejection of the draconian attempts by Newcastle, Gateshead and North Tyneside councils to implement Newcastle city centre clean air toll charges.
Of course our gallant roving reporter saint Anna Foster finds the perfect couple to vox pop on this issue. “We are pensioners who travel by using our free bus passes. We support the charges”….

Bioethanol from Sugar Beet was always a con trick (framed of course by the dear old EU) to continue to subsidise farmers via the CAP who were losing out when EU sugar production from sugar beet subsidies were finally cut to allow in cheaper sugar from more efficient producers in hot countries.
People such as Prof. Roland Clift pointed out the total energy consumed by the whole bioethanol process was so great that it had if anything ia negative overall CO2 impact. The only positive way to do this is to grow quick growing crops and burn them at a local Combined Heat and Power plant. Local you see to minimise transport energy usage. The whole life cycle saves on CO2 as it can result in a nett replacement of fossil fuels for heat and electricity generation. The more electricity is ‘green’ of course the lower will be the nett saving.
