The Far Left Failing Biased BBC keeps on giving doesn’t it ? It doesn’t even pretend to be neutral any more . There is just one ‘approved ‘ story ;facts which don’t fit the narrative are minimised or ignored . And people are forced to pay for it .

Years ago I had a debate on a BBC blog with a lefty junior lecturer, British I think, who was brimming with enthusiasm at the prospect of going off to a distant land to indoctr… er, sorry, teach young university students.
He was bitter towards the US, claiming that the US happily invaded Iraq but would never invade Sudan because there was no oil.
My mildly sarcastic reply that Sudan was in fact swimming in oil and that he should perhaps choose a different line of work caused him great offence. He probably complained bitterly to the BBC, as a moderator deleted my comment.
What was the eager young lecturer’s chosen field?
History.
I despair, I really do.

TWatO Watch #1 Continuing ‘Project Fear’
The TOADY Prog will be proud of TWatO’s efforts. Phil Hammond is claiming that our National Debt will be badly affected leaving the EU without a deal or even with a Bojo or Hunt deal that amends the May WA.
Unfortunately, the numbers do not point favourably at the legitimacy of this claim. Before we joined the EU (then called the EEC) in 1972 – 31 December at midnight – our National Debt stood at under £2 billion approximately.* At the time of the EU Referendum it was approximately £1750 billion.
How good has EU (EEC/EC) membership been for the UK and its National Debt? Form your own opinion from the numbers over the time of our membership.
* have been a bit imprecise deliberately as it is not easy, even in the age of G**gle to quickly find these numbers. I wonder why?

It is also not easy to find stats (surprising in the computer age) on how many UK Provisional Driving Licences are issued in the UK every year. You would think that such information would be important to the DfTransport in planning road space, DfEnvironment in planning policy for housing, DfWork & Pensions in employment strategy and the Home Office in ‘planning’ ahem! immigration.
In one quarter of 2014, 230,000 provisional Licences were issued. In eighteen months to date, test passes totalled approximately 762,000. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-49026171

Lord Hall of Birkenhead has indicated that it would be possible for the BBC to be a subscription only service but it would be fundamentally different to its present form because it would have to give its subscribers what they wanted. I didn’t say that Lord Birk was in favour of subscription, we all know that the BBC will fight tooth and nail to avoid being put into a commercial environment. But for the idiot to say that a subscription model would force the BBC to give the customers what they want, tells you that they certainly don’t think it necessary to do that under the current funding system. Perhaps the noble Lord is so contemptuous of the viewer or listener that he simply thinks their wishes ought to continue to have no bearing on the BBC output.

I never thought this would happen. I pretty much agree with something that Matthew Parris has said about President Trump’s comment:
“I don’t like his attacks but I think they will strike a chord among millions who should not be called racists. It’s just futile to suppose that arrivals from another country, and their children, immediately and automatically assume an identity as citizens that is indistinguishable from that of the population already there. They have all the same rights but will be seen, for a generation or two, as neither better nor worse but different.”

Maybe. Maybe if he was straight he wouldn’t have died, he’d have lived on into the 1970s and beyond. Maybe he would have been the one telling the story of Bletchley Park. Maybe he’d have given British technology an extra boost that kept it a step ahead of the US. Maybe he’d have turned his mind to his first interest, artificial intelligence, and unwittingly unleashed a nightmare on the world.
Impossible to know, of course, but I’m sure we’d have heard of him one way or another.

While the anti-democrats work on another stitch-up in parliament, Salvini is fighting the good fight in Helsinki.
At a meeting of EU Interior Ministers, he’s refused to go along with the Franco-German plot to institute a EU-wide ‘migrant’ distribution system. Instead, he wants a Mediterranean ‘barrier’ against illegal migrants.
Elsewhere in Italy, Carola Rackete has appeared in court again, to demand the large-scale importation of ‘migrants’ into Europe. This ‘German’ captain of the ‘Sea-watch 3’ ‘migrant rescue’ ship is going to be every bit as much a pain in the posterior as the Thunberg woman. It has taken 25 years, but the Dutch are waking up!
‘Politicsweb’ reports from South Africa, that they are turning against the ANC. (And that’s saying SOMETHING!)
The Dutch parliament has accepted a motion condemning the SA government’s policy of ‘Expropriation without Compensation’ as being opposed to International Human Rights.
So a racially-motivated land-grab is, after all, being recognised as…well…a racially-motivated land-grab.
The Dutch were very supportive of the ANC during the Apartheid era, but have now realised that their faith in this organisation was not being rewarded with the promised freedom and non-racial democracy in post 1994 SA.
Wonder if and when the UK will wake up too?
And who knows, maybe there will soon be the odd voice from Europe, enquiring about the continuing attacks on white farms in SA? (Not that black farms are immune.) There were 22 farm attacks and three murders from 1-15 July 2019. Nowt on the wonderful impartial bbc about that, as yet. Shall we say, 25 years of silence on the subject? (Oh yes, programmes were interrupted when Mandela died, followed by days of wailing and garment-rending.)

Why are there so few Polish people on British TV?
Go on, hazard a guess.
Helen
My guess would be, because of Brexit.
Clearly, the atmosphere created by the non-binding, uninformed but far-right inspired racist vote to leave Europe has created such a climate of fear among people born anywhere but England that all Polish born people have simply either upped sticks and returned to Poland or gone to live elsewhere in the EU where they would undoubtedly be welcomed in a manner befitting the prodigal son.
Hence, the reason there are so few Polish people on British TV is because there are no longer any Polish people left in Britain.
It’s all our fault and we should hang our heads in shame. We should pay these poor victims reparation. Just add it to the £39bn.

The election may be sooner rather than later if Parliament succeeds in frustrating Brexit after Boris’s Coronation.
The BBBC knows Corbyn to be an utter electoral liability and this may go some way to understanding them fanning the flames showing Labour under Corbyn to be anti-semitic. Clearly, the BBBC would prefer someone else to be the leader at the time of a general election. Sadly, the Labour party is now so overrun with militants, it wouldn’t matter who its leader is.

I was shocked by the blatant bias on Radio 4’s 6 pm news today. The coverage of the “four women of colour” story in the US left out so much context that it was seriously flawed, not merely slanted.
There was no attempt to convey WHY it might be that a crowd would cheer Pres. Trump when he publicly named and criticized Ilhan Omar and AOC, and boo their names. The BBC report was determined to make it about gender (which it isn’t) and ethnicity (not the main part of it) instead of explaining the anti-American, open borders, pro-Islamic, anti-Semitic, Green/Socialistic words and actions of the four, which have divided even the US Democrats let alone the nation as a whole.
I have felt for many years, partly as a result of reading posts here and partly from my own online research, that the BBC’s coverage of the USA is very biased and gives you a poor picture of the complexity of the political situation there.

“In just a few short months, hundreds of thousands of EU citizens and their families – our friends and neighbours – have secured their rights.
“This is great progress but we have more to do. EU citizens and their families have until at least 31 December 2020 to apply and we want no one to be left behind.””
So, 909,000 EU Citizens have now applied for status to become Brits. Two-thirds have been approved already, doubtless including many benefit cheats.
Add that to the hundreds of thousands of muslims and Africans the same Home Secretary broadcast as likely to reach 20 million or more on the way starting soon, mere weeks ago and you can say that immigration is a brisk business. Fortunately I doubt that the Far Left BBC – placed in the same toilet as CNN – has any influence with American voters – and just rants for the comfort of its own kind .

I expect that is because they had the good sense to chuck her out . Just like Groucho Marks, she wouldn’t want to live in any country that would accept her as a citizen.

He did also say that they should come back afterwards, which the BBC doesn’t mention.

I have waited for over three years for the BBC to make a positive programme about Brexit. Lord Hall back in 2016 said they would.
I have waited for over three years for the BBC to explain to me why the EU is so favoured by the BBC. I can’t think of any reason to favour the EU.

Are we enjoying the bbc tv news at ten?
Highest ever level of UK unsolved crimes, beeb says.
About 43,000+ knife incidents for the year.
Let down by politically correct politicians, poor leadership, and general moral decay in society, who would want to be an officer in the street?
Meanwhile Project Fear is led on beeb 10 news by Faisal islam. Are we quacking in our boots yet, or should Faisal turn up the heat?
And Laura, of course.
The anti-Trump session is led by Nick Bryant.
The anti-Israel (anti-Semitic?) person in the Squad calls Trump a fascist. Wonder what the Israelis would think about that?
High levels of concern for mental health in primary schools.
Very sad, but not surprising.
Our PC society has let down more than merely police officers.
Badly. The beeb with its incessant pursuit of PC projects has played a major role in this, make no mistake.

“turn up the heat” – Yes, can be easily achieved: ‘send him back’……

“… the BBC never went there, never asked what happens if we stay in the EU, what happens when the EU continues to push for ‘ever closer union’… economic, political and social take over …”
Precisely! This is the crux of the matter. Despite all the hypotheticals about what MIGHT happen if we leave, the BBC won’t ask about what remaining actually entails. It probably won’t mean the (already bad) status quo, as the EU project demands that the people be led, through a series of steps presented as being of economic benefit to them, towards “an ever-closer union”.
This is an epic fail by our national state-funded broadcaster. The lack of critical thinking about the state of the EU is astonishing; unless, that is, the BBC is biased in favour of the EU …

Seeing this, FNW, I popped over to the blah blah blah crud site to see what was what.
All I could read was anti-President Trump, wall to wall!
But the stupidest piece was by A. Zurcher, who said: –
“Three years ago, crowds at Donald Trump rallies called for the imprisonment of a political adversary. On Wednesday, they chanted for a member of the opposition party to be expelled from the country.
These are not behaviours emblematic of a healthy, well-functioning democracy.”
Only a blahboid could make such a ridiculous statement, when we have ‘militant’ leftie thugs like antifa and other kids forming gangs here, all climbing on anti-British bandwagons, hating the Brits and our way of life, and being a tiresome waste of benefits!
Still, at least this guy is over there, and President Trump knows exactly how to deal with ‘the beauties’.

Zurcher doesn’t tell us why Hillary Rodham Clinton should NOT go to prison for grievous breaches of state security regarding those e-mails and her private server … and no doubt at least half a dozen other things, such as destroying subpoena-ed data.

Check out on BBC news “Beachgoers come together to help stranded whales”
It’s a film of people trying to rescue stranded whales on a beach in Georgia US. The film chosen by the BBC from the tens on social media is narrated by a women (obviously) however for some reason they decide to edit it to include faux camera shutter sound and stills . Obviously this wasn’t contained in the lady’s phone filmed report. So why would they add the stills ???
You don’t even have to guess or watch it you know why…..drip …….drip …….drip

The Progressive ideology – aka Beboid thinking.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Progressivism
Virtually anyone can write stuff in Wikipedia and I suspect this was by someone who isn’t impressed –
/
Definition of progressive theory in Aldous Huxley’s Ape and Essence
Aldous Huxley defined progressive theory in his novel Ape and Essence as:
Progress — the theory that you can get something for nothing; the theory that you can gain in one field without paying for your gain in another; the theory that you alone understand the meaning of history; the theory that you know what’s going to happen fifty years from now; the theory that, in the teeth of all experience, you can foresee all the consequences of your present actions; the theory that Utopia lies just ahead and that, since ideal ends justify the most abominable means, it is your privilege and duty to rob, swindle, torture, enslave and murder all those who, in your opinion (which is, by definition, infallible), obstruct the onward march to the earthly paradise. Remember that phrase of Karl Marx’s: ‘Force is the midwife of Progress.’ He might have added — but of course Belial didn’t want to let the cat out of the bag at that early stage of the proceedings — that Progress is the midwife of Force. Doubly the midwife, for the fact of technological progress provides people with the instruments of ever more indiscriminate destruction, while the myth of political and moral progress serves as the excuse for using those means to the very limit. I tell you, my dear sir, an undevout historian is mad. The longer you study modern history, the more evidence you find of Belial’s Guiding Hand.”[27]
/
PS. I have no idea who Belial was…

Some regard as the Hebrew word for devil.
Belial (בְלִיַּעַל bĕli-yaal) is a Hebrew word “used to characterize the wicked or worthless.”
from two common words: beli- (בְּלִי “without-“) and ya’al ( יָעַל “to be of value”).

His definition of “progress” is a bit over the top
Obviously there is technological progress.
And if society becomes less unfair, that is sociological progress.
But it’s often one step forward steps 2 back
eg the way government improves women’s LGBT rights then sits back whilst thousands of children become sex slaves to groom/rape gangs.

Headline in the Guardian – possible winner of headline of the month . Obviously I don’t know what the article is about as I won’t be reading it – why would I – it’s the Guardian ?
So I assume it’s about the astronauts ‘ mums .
Why look at the Guardian? Because it is my enemy . It is the written manifestation of the BBC which is also my enemy .
And the BBC? Trumpeting a coming speech by the somewhat strange traitor Muslim Home Secretary about avoiding extreme language to avoid extremism .
I suppose this means traitor MP s don’t like being called traitor MPs for fighting against the outcome of a huge Democratic Vote .
As for Project Fear – Office of budget irresponsibility yesterday and a Commons traitor revolt followed today by an MP EU committee telling us yet again that it’s all bad . Of course . Yet again .
As an aside – a Labour peer got sacked by Corbyn for comparing his people to being in a bunker like Hitler .
So he is in his bunker and the traitor PM is in her bunker too . She is even going to announce public sector pay rises using existing budgets meaning better paid staff but less of them . Madness .

Fed,
“Why look at the Guardian? Because it is my enemy.”
Along with all the Western media – US as well to a greater or lesser extent.
But, if anyone had any previous doubts, our House of Commons is our enemy to a now quite an amazing extent. Evidence that so-called ‘democracy’ is dead. Would any future Government even contemplate another Referendum on any topic? I’d wager not on the memory of the one in 2016.
If Boris is blocked from avoiding Parliament to force a Brexit, unless the people have some sort of meaningful leverage – a tax strike – for example, the only other way is a General Election. Personally I would prefer the latter which will be the only event that could potentially usher in a Farage led Brexit Party as the largest/most dominant faction. If that happens, it would be the biggest and most extensive clear out of all (or most) of the current wasters in the HoC. Then ‘upward and onward’ to the House of Lords, BBC……….Major ‘swamp draining’.

That unnecessary (but beneficial) activity will result in unnecessary carbon use and unnecessary CO2 emissions and lots of tough questions about that will be asked of the contributors. Or not.
I suspect not.

According to the State broadcaster, Home secretary Sajid Javid is to make an anti-extremism speech today, following the publication of a poll suggesting 52% of respondents had witnessed ‘extremism’ (e.g. having any concerns whatsoever about immigration). Just 52%? Surely 100% of the British population witness extremism every day, especially if they see, hear or read the BBC. Here’s some examples of what real people consider to be extremism:
1. Being told men can turn into women.
2. Having their children forced to learn about non-traditional lifestyles.
3. The constant assault on our culture and tradition.
4. Forced to pay higher prices for energy to indulge the fantasies of the global warming con.
5. Having their democratic wish to leave the EU suppressed.
6. The diversity delusion.
7. Multicultural madness.
8. Flatulent feminism.
9. Islamification.
10. The relentless push for globalisation.
Mr Javid says he “knows what it’s like to be told to go back to where I came from.” And so he should – meaning back to under his stone in this case.

I heard that pile of shite too.
I think the 52% was not a poll but a percentage of responders. In other words a non-random self-selecting group.
But no doubt the Guardianista intelligensia will take it as gospel.

“Lobby Land a BBC 6.30pm Comedy returns to Radio 4 tonight” I am told by the BBC.
Snuffy’s memory can be defective but I don’t ever recall the first series being on Radio 4 at 6.30pm unless it only lasted for one programme and I missed it because I was out.
Anyone else know if this is another BBC con?
Checking via the Schedules as well as the BBC search facility it appears that Series One does not exist. Series 2 is only four programmes long. It is possible that I missed a Series 1 of a similar length.*
The BBC’s so-called ‘Search’ facility is absolute rubbish, so I am not surprised that it doesn’t appear there.
* The BBC have a record of dishonesty over repeats but I also wonder whether this is a ‘politics-related FakeNews’ spoof done, for obvious reasons, with a glance westwards. If anyone remembers the first Series do let me know. Stew Green – our ace Schedule watcher – might remember.

Snuffy does understand, Stew, and I did just that. In my browser with my ‘PC ancien’ all I could call up were the episodes in the current series. But thanks for confirming my suspicions. The BBC were lying. Again. OK, not a capital offence in this case but he (or she or it or they) who is scrupulous in the small things may be considered truthful in the grand matters of State.
Funny thing, maxincony wasn’t on here to pick up the BBC on that little bit of misrepresentation.

The interviewee was a retired£££££££ lord lord called sumpter ( used the reith lectures as a shameful remainer propaganda piece ) – talking about sending the head of state to Brussels to sort out brexit . It sounded like he was on his private island in the pacific –
Strange how the BBC gives air time to ex politicians and the like each week to let them air their hostility to brexit .
Last week was major threatening to use Soros cash for judicial review
Next is will be heseltine being exhumed again
Same with Blair and the occasional Brown
Funny how the BBC no longer carries the daily Soubry rant , or the Heidi the liar , or chooka or that West Country MP who some how is also a GP ? They were famous once ..

Lord Sumption, Fed.
Actually, Jonathan Sumption said something interesting about the Major threat to Brexit. That’s the threat from the minor British (failed) PM called John Major, not a reference to Miliband major who is also anti-Brexit and is also rolled out by the BBC, when available, to Bash Brexit.
The Law Lord’s opinion is that the Major attempt might fail.

I’ve listened to the Reith Lectures for as long as I remember and expected a challenge . Instead – from a ‘law lord ‘ I got an o level essay of little value – apart from the use of the ‘off switch ‘ -which I have relabelled the BBC switch .
I, too , think the idea of trying a Judicial Review to stop the conduct of Parliament would fail because , in a twisted way, the sovereignty of Parliament trumps to judiciary – and these nonsense parliamentary motion ‘wish lists ‘ are just remainers raging at the predicament they have put themselves in where 500 won’t obey the direction which came with the Referendum vote .
I wish they’d just switch to either making our country stronger outside the ReichEU or sabotaging the economy in order to get the UK back into the EU .
I think they’ll do the latter and will pray of the pound to die and the UK goes into recession – which of course – is coupled with something called ‘unemployment , Civil unrest , inflation , rising interest rates and the ‘normal ‘ stuff which occupies the MSM.

Fed, I got into the Reith Lectures about a quarter of a century ago, maybe a bit more. It’s that Radio 4 effect of middle-age, I guess.
I listened to a couple of Lord Sumption’s episodes but I found his going round in circles and also cutting across himself – strange I thought for an experienced Judge – with some apparent contradictions, really frustrating and annoying.
As to the rest of your post, I gather Philip Hammond has said Brexit should be delayed until next year. I think he may be hoping there will be a massive world recession and Brexit would then be postponed or cancelled.
In that event, I have a bit of news for the Chancellor. The next big crash, if the EU is also affected, and the SPIIGs especially so, the UK is committed to bailing out financially the EU and those ‘weak’ member States.
You, your Brexit obstructing Parliamentary and Civil Service colleagues, together with the EU, Mr Chancellor, will be extremely unpopular with the nation as a whole. There is likely to be a mass handing out of P45s at the earliest electoral opportunity.

Toady at 0740 and in the interests of impartiality a very small cheer for Martha Kearney.
She was interviewing the chair of the investigation into extremism, one Sara Khan (what a surprise, enough said).
All Khan wanted to talk about was extremism in all forms, mainly Far Right.
Martha gets a bit of credit because a few times she challenged Khan that extremism that results in e.g blowing up people at pop concerts in Manchester might be a bit worse than other forms.
Khan refused point blank on each occasion to single out such events. Apparently we need to be more concerned about beiing negative to immigrants.
Yes, blowing up people is OK, but opposing unfettered mass immigration is not.
A complete whitewash.

TOADY Watch #2 – Overthetop Anniversary
The BBC on R4 are overdoing the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo moon mission compared to some other recent ones. They completely forgot the 100th Anniversary of the end of WW1 and also the 50th Anniversaries of the Russian invasion of Czechoslovakia, the d’Oliveira Affair and the death of Jan Palach on Radio 4, in my listening at least. There may have been other omissions.
The BBC don’t do comedy anymore. They don’t do (proper) science, geography or history either.
Quite good on propaganda, however, especially anti-Brexit, feminist, gender and LeftyLibby propaganda.
