Midweek Open Thread 24 July 2019

The Biased Far Left BBC knows full well that the new British Prime Minister is no great fan of it . This will lead to a concerted effort to destroy him before he either achieves a successful Brexit and/or turns his attention to reforming a State Broadcaster which has lost its way and is no longer ‘British’.

Obviously making the BBC British and unbiased again can’t be done with the current corrupt Parliament in place . Boris has a long list of issues to repair the damage done by Mrs May to our country . But with help he must start to drain the corrupt swamp including the Biased BBC. Good luck Bo.

Have you noticed that all the shouters screeching and braying (sorry) on the news channels are all remainders.
I can’t recall ever seeing or hearing pro leavers.
Probably because the leavers are at work.

On politics live, green mp Lucas saying if the second referendum was another win for leave she would still vote against it as would the ‘liberal’ ‘democrats’ says Swinson so no point in a second referendum if they only accept the result if they win.

On bbc radio Newcastle this morning a leaver was making a good case and mentioned the 17.4 million who voted to leave so the presenter cut him off and said that’s what they voted on that one day (or words to that effect) as if the result that day was an aberration.

It seems everybody touted for a place in boris’s cabinet has already been found to be useless, incompetent or unfit to serve by all the media who have yet to put anything positive out about the new PM.

Boy, I thought she was about to burst a blood vessel while talking to U (stiff haired) Edwards. The poor guy couldn’t get to speak. And when he did speak he spoke with a welsh accent and I can never understand males with a welsh accent? With great respect – I think it makes them sound effeminate. NOT women though. I love to hear a woman speaking with a welsh accent. Yes, ever if she was a remainer.

Always the hottest, coolest, wettest, driest, windiest, and ordinary-est on record. Until they start to actually look at the records, that is, when things tend to go a bit quiet.

Here, in central southern France, where I have lived since 2007, we have had a few hot days, this year 40.8, yesterday, and 40.4 today it has been a hot summer, thus far. However, we are not dying, the grass is brown, and the plants could do with a drink – it’s hot, but we wouldn’t expect anything else, at this time of year. It will end, suddenly, as it always does, and temperatures will reduce a tad.

Nothing to worry about, no need to panic – but the French government and the press would have us believe that these things are happening more frequently (they’re not), and that it’s all our fault (it isn’t), and as punishment, we may no longer drive our ICE vehicles, and pay a “carbon tax” as reparations for our sins.

He follows the money, he’ll end up with the Saudis if he fails to get what he wants, just like the BBC. Untrustworthy.

Just a little light relief from the Boris frenzy.
Last night the Beeb aired a one hour documentary written and hosted by “right wing” comedian, Geoff Northcote. It was actually quite interesting.
I won’t drag you through the whole lot, the gist was that the middle classes have ruined Britain and that despite a lot of virtue signalling (Brexit, immigration etc) they make certain their kids go to the best schools and keep the rest of us well beyond arms length.
Towards the end Geoff wonders if his show would go down well with a university audience and brings in three representatives to sit in on part of his act. Blimey, what a woke trio. We had the black student president (bearded Asian bloke) the women’s president (young black girl) and the LGBT president (some geezer done up to look like a younger version of Mrs Brown after a really heavy night).
I could tell just by looking at them that they were going to be hard work. I was right.
Geoff told them a few jokes, some about his father, who was disabled. They sat there in stony silence. I was chortling far more at their pained expressions than at his gags.
For these desperately sad people everything has to be filtered and examined for potential offence before they can begin to enjoy it. “Where is the humour in this?” asked the LGBT bloke looking genuinely confounded and disturbed.
I don’t think Geoff got the university gig, but I don’t think he was too bothered.
It did make me think though…
Christ knows what these three would have made of Dick Emery?

Can you imagine Jeremy Hardy ever saying, “I’m sorry but I’m left-wing, Thatcher…”?

We don’t need any ‘wing’, we need plain, what used to be, ‘common sense’. Stop being the ‘silenced majority’. There are only two sexes and it takes those two to make babies. Muslims don’t think they will get to heaven until the rest of us revert or a killed. The EU is not ‘a good thing’.

Plenty of material. Either no-one bold enough to use it or, more likely, the BBC commissioners ‘just can’t find the talent’, (well you won’t if you don’t look).

Comedy is certainly a matter of taste but it seems to me that Laurel and Hardy films can still raise a laugh with ALL members of my (quite large family) irrespective of age or political viewpoint yet I’m pretty sure that our wonderful left wing ideologues would find a reason why we should not be amused by their on screen antics, so I would suggest that this style of comedy has stood the test of time .
I have a strong feeling that the current PC comedians will not be so lucky.

The punters being question are normally good natured and chuckle – I wonder how many just turn to the interviewer and use a bad word. There seems to be no value in hearing the views of people stopped in the street if you have no knowledge of who they are and what they know …

This technique seems to be featuring a lot with regard to BoJo –

Channel 4 news is doing its own ( hostile ) fact check of any comment or claim the new government will make . I have some advice for Dominic Cummings – do a Trump – minimise interviews / contact by new ministers with the MSM. Why bother ?

Avoid Toady , newsnight , Marr, politics daily – all of them . People will understand . The majority know that the effort must be to carry through A50.

Haven’t seen C4 news for a while – fascinating piece on Feltam Prison -which ‘houses’ ‘children . The word ‘criminals’ isn’t used . Apparently they are banged up for 22 hours a day . I believe to be in there you have to be a violent – nasty – criminal – who happen to be ‘children ‘ – in real life their ‘childhood ‘ ended long ago. Now they are gangsters.

The BBC radio 3 wants to rid itself of its ‘fuddy-duddy’ image –
it says here in The Times today, it gives along list of BBC radio 3 ‘aspirations’ about it (cough) cultural values which are paramount whilst listening to Opera orchestrated by the last Tony Hall (former Royal Opera bar steward) before he bacame (almost instantly) Lord Hall of Toad Hall. Anyway this is what you need to listen to get the new radio 3 groove (whatever). Being tone deaf is not an excuse.
    Read here: https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/radio-3-sheds-fuddy-duddy-image-to-woo-new-listeners-20lhrh33s

Quoting from the Times printed edition, I learn that as a conservative I am redundant. I should get with it. Hang on in there and get in the groove (as they say in Luton). I need to be (if I were a R3 listener I would have to subscribe to having a criminal record, in prison with headphones and be a left whinger (read on) banged up victim on state benefits.

‘Culturally engaged (in left wing issues)’, More likely to look to the (BBC) radio for information’, ‘Cultural (snob) Connoisseurs’, ‘Engaged with the community (Jimmy Saville)’, ‘Enjoy the finer things in life (BBC staff pay rises)’, ‘See themselves as creative, extrovert, and open (Gary Lineker)’, ‘Social media reflecting the UK population (as if it never did or has done or ever will do)’, ‘Listening to a podcast once a week (guess; from your most trusted public Broadcaster) to claim your golden victim hood’.

No sorry, this is a switch off. But I do understand where they are coming from and it’s entirely because of SCALA radio on which I have been listening to on and off (mostly OFF). It the same target audience (SCALA radio) exactly, competing with Radio 3 and Classic FM. It being run by a German outfit (BAUER) with deep pockets and sees the BBC as a bit ‘soft’ and ripe for change. So the BBC are fighting back with this load of twank to ‘target’ a more yooofull audience with a relaunch of its spare parts as ‘wholesome’ fare even if a bit stodgy, fly blown and frankly rather dull. SCALA radio has signed up ex BBC Simon Mayo (of radio 2 fame). As a former fan myself of Simon Mayo I have tried to listen (to SCALA radio), but maybe I am not yooofull enough, its a bit odd. As for radio 3 you cannot be serious. But the BBC is deadly serious about wiping out all competition, even from dead-end radio 3. good luck with that, as they say in Norway (or Germany home of BAUER). Radio 3 is now doomed.

I may add side-by-side the above story in The Times is the BBC losing £550,000 worth of phones and laptops by staff. Or £9,000 per months (on average). This is an expose by The Taxpayer alliance under FOI where the BBC have had to admit they have lost a few items including cameras which ‘vanish’ even inside the BBC itself. They responded that they do all they can to support staff who are often the victims of thefts! (Its must be because they are worth it…) So they expect to loose a lot of kit because they are the BBC, basically. More on that here:
    https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/bbc-staff-lose-550-000-of-phones-and-laptops-2txg8p778

Thank you taxpayers alliance for finding that out under FOI!

Here was another expose earlier on the BBC in Scotland. (The BBC are such victims, they need healthcare and lots of it seems, due to serious medical conditions such as girth, gout, myopia, indigestion, rabies, greed etc.)

Excellent post sir. Couldn’t agree more old chap. The Boris Bashing Corporation are an absolute shower and should be sold off to to the lowest bidder, namely Tim Martin of Wetherspoons fame and given a complete makeover so that democracy can once again flourish and restore a sense of self worth in the British people.

German manufacturing recession deepens, weakest showing in seven years – PMI
BERLIN, (Reuters) – A recession in Germany’s manufacturing sector worsened in July with the performance of goods producers dropping to the lowest level in seven years, a survey showed on Wednesdays, suggesting a deteriorating growth outlook for Europe’s largest economy.

however, as Germany’s solid labour market and robust household spending were providing a buffer against external shocks.

I’m more concerned about the new Chancellor. A muslim holding the purse strings? Jizya.
Could be irony though: perhaps Boris wants the new Chancellor to work out how to raise enough money by depriving the UK population of money in order to finance the importation and support of many millions of more muslims and blacks predominantly from the Middle East who will, naturally live on the backs of working Brits. Javid announced the plan a couple of weeks ago.

They just don’t get it do they. It’s one of the reasons we voted Brexit was to take back control of our borders and reduce immigration, not increase it or replace European economic migrants with middle eastern or African economic migrants!

        • Yasser Dasmibehbi says:

Dyst, I am completely in agreement. They do simply not get it.
While I am relieved at Boris getting in I have no great expectations of much needed reform after Brexit. So my celebrations are not ongoing.
Brexit is the first step. A reduction in immigration is a step further. And a vital one! Few of the top Tories in the new lot seem to understand it.
Much as I like Priti Patel I do seem to remember her views on immigration being along the same lines as Sajiv.
So if Boris is successful, true brits should should not rest on their backsides. The second act is a complete end to mass immigration. It can’t start too soon.
