Midweek Open Thread 24 July 2019

The Biased Far Left BBC knows full well that the new British Prime Minister is no great fan of it . This will lead to a concerted effort to destroy him before he either achieves a successful Brexit and/or turns his attention to reforming a State Broadcaster which has lost its way and is no longer ‘British’.

Obviously making the BBC British and unbiased again can’t be done with the current corrupt Parliament in place . Boris has a long list of issues to repair the damage done by Mrs May to our country . But with help he must start to drain the corrupt swamp including the Biased BBC. Good luck Bo.

When do Al Beeb ever suggest this might be a good reason to get out of the EU before it takes us down with it? Answer: never. Of course it’s the fault of Brexit and Trump. Sky carry the same story but do not mention Brexit (for a change):

“mainly reflects the ongoing weakness in international trade in an environment of prolonged global uncertainties, which are particularly affecting the euro are manufacturing sector”.

Apologies if it’s been mentioned already but one of the big stories on Fox, was videos of cops in NYC being doused with water by members of the public, while on duty, and in one case hit on the head by a bucket. The sad thing is said cops did not retaliate, and took no action against the assailants. Onlookers laughed. Pretty shocking for US cops IMO. Its covered by many of the major papers and stations, but strangely hasn’t shown up on Al Beeb’s US page…these assault’s took place in Harlem and Brooklyn, so I’m guessing that doesn’t portray Al Beeb’s favourite minorities in a good light.

As a previous contributor mentioned, how many monitoring stations are there today compared, say, to 1976? Stations fairly close to each other can record quite significant variations (never mind the notorious one at Heathrow positioned by the Jumbo jet exhaust, now conveniently ignored) so it is easy to imagine that more stations in previous years could have recorded higher “records”. An analysis of that by the thousands of BBC “journalists” just wouldn’t meet the agenda though, would it?

I think that blogger is jumping to conclusions. The BBC’s response to the FOI request is their stock answer to all FOI requests, their first line of resistance, they haven’t considered his question at all.

To get them to do that would require him to come up with decent arguments on a point-by-point basis as to why the FOI exclusions don’t apply to his specific question. You have to show them that you mean business!

I have had similar run-ins with local authorities over traffic orders, the first response is always, “we are the highway authority and all our traffic orders are legal, (so there!)”. Then I came back with “so why does YOUR drawing for previous traffic order X back my position and not yours?” At which point they realise they have been caught out. (In the case of a local authority they may well get their way, but only by going back to square one and doing the job legally).

The point is, you have to hit them with the rules that they are playing by, unless you have deep pockets and can go for a judicial review.

A friend of mine, not really a bBBC sort of person, reckons that ever since the weather forecast failure of the 1987 hurricane, the BBC weather forecast has had arse-covering as its top priority. Whether snow, rain, wind, or heat, the BBC big up the danger warnings, regularly predicting plague and pestilence which rarely actually happen. Today was just another example.

The Climate Change devotees are fortunate in that the UK has a climate which lends itself to the fanatics bleatings. Humidity is the key.
Rises in temperature will be associated with the increase in humidity and hence, discomfort which probably most UK people alone subconsciously measure.
If we had the climate of Saudi Arabia which currently is forecast 9% humidity (for Riyadh) we would be far less uncomfortable and hence less persuaded that temperature was a “man made” problem. My location forecast today? Not dropping less than a very uncomfortable 90% humidity.

So many things to say about this article, but primarily, why is it on a British news website? Can’t even be bothered to comment on the fact that NZ cleared the man cos he did it for ‘cultural reasons ‘. The BBC like this story because it promotes the narrative that immigrants and Third Worlders should be applicable to different laws when in Western Countries and allowed to get away with crimes. There was an analogous case some years ago in Australia, in which a group of Muslim men were on trial accused of the gang rape of an Australian woman. The defence counsel argued that such behaviour was acceptable in their original countries for cultural reasons and therefore we should all be a bit more ‘tolerant’ about such things. I have heard a liberal lawyer argue that the age of sexual consent should be reduced to 12 but for Muslims only as that is a marriageable age in some countries.

How did straws become a Trump culture war?

Ever given much thought to how you consume a cold drink? Well now, your chosen method could be seen as a political statement. Thousands of Trump-branded plastic straws have been sold on the US president’s official campaign website – at $15 for 10 – since they were launched as an alternative to “liberal” paper straws.

The bright-red straws, laser-engraved with the word Trump, are being marketed as reusable and recyclable, with the message: “Liberal paper straws don’t work. Stand with President Trump and buy your recyclable straws today.” Now environmental groups are saying most plastic straws can’t actually be recycled however – and that the material they’re made of has no practicable use.

IIRC, plastic straws can be recycled but it depends on their PET qualities and ratings. Don’t ask me to explain. The complexity of the technicalities and chemistries scrambles my brain. Just trying to remember the different names results in a Bluebottle moment with BBC Home Service FX of straining with the inevitable result of a snap.

It all well be academic if the government falls in the first couple of weeks of September …. which will make the timetable for withdrawing A50 – if that is the consequence – really tight .

Lots of under the radar horse trading across the Commons in the next 5 weeks ….

The toady interviewee wasn’t mr malt house – I think the chap was from the senior police association or similar …

BBC with blue on blue story re the headmistress of the Brummie school v Muslims against LGBT relationship lessons.

It appears that according to the head, the big issue is that the Government is the problem by not her. (The BBC like that one!)

The resolution to this problem seems to me to be so simple. Opt-in by the parents rather than being forced. Everyone happy! The problem would immediately go away. But no, force fed what they believe seems to be the only way.

A line from the BBC report gives the game away:

‘”It worried me because I felt that it was empowering parents to realise that if you shout and scream outside a school or [there’s] something you don’t agree with, you can stop it, but it also made it look like the school was doing something wrong, which it wasn’t,” added Ms Pulley.’

Let me translate the sheer anti-democratic entitlement of the remark which goes something like this:

We the liberal elite apparatchiks know best and we will educate your children in the ways that we think best and if parents think they can influence us in the way that their children are taught they can just shut up and go away. We always will think we get it about right.

The fact that it is islam versus the gay/trans lobby here and multicultural rubber is now hitting the road is simply hilarious.

pug – staggering to think that all we got from the bbc was a repeat of that tired old Mueller point that his report had not excluded the possibility that Trump was guilty, or some trash like that.
That’s what happens when you are narrative-driven, rather than events/news driven: your agenda is the thing at almost all times. The news is only provided if it fits in with that, and if it doesn’t, you just keep repeating the same old, same old, the one that does suit your narrative.
I watched Mueller for a while; he seemed old, tired and barely conscious. He could not or would not answer dozens of questions. It is beyond belief that the beeb failed to give us an accurate representation of what went on here, because of their ideological committment to the Dems and their desperate if not pathological desire to nail Trump!

Boris scraps the immigration limit . We may get a points system instead but will it work for us given the pressure from the liberal Globalists for lots of low skilled folk and the desire to dilute Englishness ever more? Is there anyway we can avoid being swamped even further? Can we avoid Islamisation within fifty years?
It’s hugely depressing and makes the battles over Brexit seem trivial in comparison. At times I can’t see that there is anyway out of this awful future and reflect that I’m pleased but guilty that I won’t be around to see it.
There are some countries in the EU , we all know them, which are bravely refusing to accept this Islamisation. They are up against France and Belgium which are in a worse state than we are. Perhaps it could be termed the curse of Empire. Germany for baffling reasons is going the same way and Sweden is ten to twenty years ahead of us.
If we stay in the EU we will only add to the pressure on the resisting nations to cave in and accept migrants because we will side with France et al. If we leave the EU we will accept even more third worlders than at present. It’s all so depressing.we are living through the last decades of England and of Europe.

It really is clear that politicians have no idea of what the public wants, or maybe they do.
Maybe there is a reason for granting amnesty to (at least one million) illegal immigrants and providing easier entry to the UK for yet more third world immigrants.
Is it to provide a future core voting base for political parties or to weaken and destabilize the existing voters? Thirty years ago many Constituency Labour Parties in English cities were predominantly white, now as in my own local labour Party in Perry Barr in Birmingham, they are predominantly Pakistani Muslim.
Politicians are aware of high birth rates in ethnic communities and the pressure this places on housing and school places. The NHS is buckling under the strain of trying to cope with the health problems of the new arrivals; not so long ago we thought we had eradicated TB in this country, now, cases are on the increase. Most outbreaks are to be found to be found in areas where asians or east europeans live; Special Schools in the Birmingham, Bradford and Leeds etc are populated with the offspring of first cousin Pakistani Muslim marriages who have severe physical or mental health problems; and In certain cities, black people (the BBC likes to call these criminals ‘disaffected youths’) are responsible for most knife crime (sorry but this IS a fact) and have a high disproportionate representation in the prison system for the size of their population.
The politicians however and the MSM are protected from the raising of these inconvenient facts publicly because if anyone does, they are immediately labelled ‘racist’.
So the majority of the public stay quiet.
The BBC did not report on the mass looting and attacks on shoppers and shop workers in an Aldi store in Birmingham on Wednesday night (the one right over the road from Warwickshire County Cricket Club) by scores of black youths. The Birmingham Mail did but as usual the perpetrators were only described as ‘youths’, although it is clear from the video they are all black:

Following up on the last posting about the harassment of Darren Grimes by the Electoral Services Commission which was found to have vexatiously and wrongly persued Mr Grimes, a tweet was made by the Commission which was an old statement with an update.
This was misread by the Guardians Carole Cadwalladr who tweeted that Grimes had subsequently been found guilty of a further 2 crimes and referred to the Police.

This was of course false, but it did not stop the BBC ever eager to stick the knife into vote leave, not bothering to fact check the tweet and reporting it as fact on their breaking news page (since deleted).

Cadwalladr did after much prevarication admit to her mistake, but not before the remainer media had jumped all over it, and being so eager to report bad news about vote leave, reported false news as fact without even bothering to check.

Perhaps we might call this leftist privilidge, where your tweets are taken as Gospel truth without the need for checking, whereas other media tweets are taken as false with the need for proof to be produced.
