“Richard Ward, a 29-year-old project manager from Leicester, has also put some of his spending on hold.

He and his wife Emma, a children’s nurse, put off booking a short holiday to Poland or Hungary due to Brexit being postponed.

They are concerned about the pound dropping while they are away, and the holiday becoming more expensive.

    3 words Mr Ward …. GROW A PAIR !!!!!

Dystopian – now on the beeb website.
You would expect burglary and murder of police, if you don’t entertain the yoof and give them lots of goodies, wouldn’t you?
I know when I was young, I regularly looked for police to kill when I got bored. I felt that, if they didn’t give my yoof club £2 million, as demanded by a lady -running a little ‘club’- on the radio yesterday, well, you would, wouldn’t you?
After all, what harm in a little blackmail? I reckon government should be dealing out £2 million to anyone who got bored. Nuffink to do but watch TV and play games etc. I reckon £2 million here and there is cheap at the price…
And let’s have softer policing. None of this stop and search stuff, it upsets poor old Diane Abbott. Police should be handing out sweeties. And softer sentences from judges. Let’s give repeat offenders at least a score of offenses before any punishment….
Oh, ‘punishment’, that’s a bad word, isn’t it? Mustn’t say that. Prison should only be about rehab. They need to be at least up to Travelodge standards.

Gloster- to switch the sarcasm off, for a minute, my point is that law enforcement and justice have lost their way in Europe, in general. UK is part of that (I speak of Europe, NOT the EU).
Last week there were attempts to kill 2 police officers here in England – one with his own car and one with a machete. Now we have a fatal tragedy.
When the police have become fair game for murder, something has gone seriously wrong in society.
For starters, they have been constantly undermined by politicians, judges, the media, etc. who all want them to be ‘Mr (and Ms) Nice Guy’. The Left, of course, have motives of their own to neutralise the Law, to the extent that they see themselves as ‘revolutionaries’, anarchists and SJWs.
          What about ‘the Right’?
As someone who is conservative, I would simply say that murder is murder. If anyone commits it and lays claim to being ‘right-wing’, they need to suffer the consequences of their crime. The fools at the beeb and Guardian (etc) will quickly and eagerly create a ‘right wing terrorism narrative’, and discredit genuine conservatism, which is actually centrist. ‘Right-wing’ smacks of authoritarian government, and we don’t need that. But we do need Law and Order.
Regrettably, society has moved so far to the Left in the last 50 years, that this distinction between ‘the right’ and the centre, is now not even recognized.
Nor is there anything ‘right-wing’ about expecting firm policing. It has to do with the first duty of the state: the security of its citizens.
It goes without saying that police need to treat these citizens with respect, and that they and their difficult work -in turn- be treated with the same respect.
Heavy sentences for police killers, and those who attempt it, please. Nothing to do with where you stand politically.

I’d say that point was reached when the police started ignoring the mass rape of underage girls.

Thames Valley Police officer killed in Berkshire

PC Andrew Harper, of Thames Valley Police, died at about 23:30 BST on Thursday in Berkshire.

The force said the 10 males arrested were aged between 13 and 30, and remain in custody.
        [Men!]

How many police officers are killed on duty?
In the past 10 years at least 10 officers have been killed during an incident involving a criminal suspect.

The most recent case was the murder in 2017 of PC Keith Palmer, who was stabbed during the Westminster terror attack in 2017.
[By Khalid Masood, a devout Buddhist, I have to provide this information because the BBC will not.]

A number of the other cases have involved officers being struck by vehicles driven by suspects.

Violence against officers is a common occurrence. In the year to March, there were 30,977 assaults on police officers and a third of these resulted in injury.

The attack on PC Harper is the third time in recent weeks an officer has been seriously hurt in the line of duty.

Metropolitan police constable Stuart Outten was stabbed in the head on 8 August.
[By Muhammad Rodwan, a devout Buddhist.]

Days later a 42-year-old West Midlands Police officer suffered serious head and pelvic injuries when he was run over with his own vehicle.
        [By another devout Buddhist.
What is the link between these acts of violence?
Well it the Buddhist religion with its intolerance of others.
Clearly Buddhists are not fit to belong to a civilised society.
They should all be immediately deported from the UK.]

    TR update.
Jessica S managed to see him this morning.
Her report from back of taxi on way to airport (45 mins).

Mostly OK – but this is the worrying part

To move him anywhere for a minor court date at that time seems unnecessary and risky given that he is due to be released on 15 September. He is seeing his solicitors about it next week at which point we may learn more. TR said his lawyers have advised him not to accept any ‘legal’ visits except from them (he did receive one such request – presumably from the police?).

Thank you for posting this . It looks like the state will have another opportunity to give TR an ‘ accident’ if they move him under some contrived court appearance .

I think he can refuse to leave his cell but I’m not sure – and that could add a prison discipline charge to him .

As far as ‘education goes, the liberal elite haet elitism of any kind (except for their offspring).

It is the belief that anyone can be brought up to college level has brought colleges down to anyone’s level.
In the egalitarian environment (all must have prizes) the influx of mediocrities relentlessly lowers the general standards at colleges to the level the weak ones can meet,
The cost of this can be seen in ordinary life. “The mediocre have to wait a further three years to find out their fate. If the colleges continue dropping standards, as they have done for decades, then, as at Lake Woebogone,
-all will be above average compared to the past.
I have tried discussing doctoral subjects with recent graduates, and it is soon clear that they would not have even got in to the college before the lowering of standards.
In this era of ignorance and stupidity, cultural Marxism trumps all, as there is no real truth, Science is only white men’s tricks, texts are just words, and any other set of words are the same as they are just , well, words.
As all cultures are equal in this utopia, all cultural practices are accepted without question. anything goes (except whites who are not allowed to have a culture). Laws are just the oppression of the rich, meaning the oppressed are victims rather than criminals. thus there are no legal laws.
This leads to a prefect shining utopia where all are free to engage in celebrating ‘difference’ (no other utterance permitted) . With no police, laws , property is taken by anybody who can, as is their right as victims.

Those with the knowledge, skill and wisdom to perhaps begin solving them are difficult to locate, as they are within a morass of the entitled who were allocated credentials that make them appear capable. Hence: Energy crisis, transport crisis, Health crisis, Brexit crisis, Policing, legal… it goes on and on.

Does anyone really shout “white supremacy”
i don’t think people who believed in it would speak like that
.. They might say “England for whites” or something like that
It seems like a nutter attack
I think care has to be taken NOT to mix “nutter attacks” with the label terrorism
and that includes when it is a lone wolf Muslim
We can protect against terrorist attacks by addressing the ideology
But we can’t protect against “nutter attacks” in the same way
Yes a drugged up nutter did kill a random Rotherham Pakistani grandad when groom/rape gangs were in the news but he might just as well made someone else his victim say an opposition football fan, a punk etc.

Then compare that against another TESCO attack

Akbari has been jailed for 19 years with an extended license period of two years

Yes. He did. Neighbours (plural) heard him shouting it. So you question is redundant.

I don’t think people who believed in it would speak like that
.. They might say “England for whites” or something like that

      Like this you mean…

“Minutes before starting his rampage, Fuller posted a Facebook post reading: ‘I am English, no matter what the government say. Kill all the non-English and get them all out of England.’

So what you “think” is patently wrong.

We can protect against terrorist attacks by addressing the ideology
But we can’t protect against “nutter attacks” in the same way

Except Vincent Fuller did have an ideology; one which was centred on racism and white supremacy. Labelling him as “a nutter” is simply a convenient device to avoid confronting your own cognitive dissonance.

      Likewise…

Yes a drugged up nutter did kill a random Rotherham Pakistani grandad when groom/rape gangs were in the news but he might just as well made someone else his victim say an opposition football fan, a punk etc.

Two people, Dale Jones and Damien Hunt were convicted of killing Mushin Ahmed. They weren’t “nutters”, they didn’t “randomly” pick on someone; they attacked him “because of the colour of his skin”.

        You say witnesses PLURAL
        the local paper says ONE
One witness said at the time that Fuller had been heard shouting “kill a Muslim” and “white supremacy”,
while another said he was “saying some crazy things about Muslims

You are quoting from The Independent but you fail to mention that.
You assert the Facebook page was written “minutes before” . Media I read said it was the day before.
Only the Indy says it was minutes before.

Plus as we saw from the US attacks some Facebook/Twitter accounts are not always real but made up by activists quickly AFTER an event.
BTW in this case the victim was Bulgarian, we don’t know if he is non-white or not.

The narrative is that he was full of hate for foreigners and that he was incited by the Christchurch attack the day before against Muslims. Yet your long Indy article hints at a much more complicated pictures.
Like the way no one restrained him at the beginning, he attacked cars with a baseball bat until it broke and then went home and came back with a knife. How was he allowed to do that ?
        Was he just anti-white ?
The Indy report says he had a problem with police and his ex- girlfriend
The court heard that Fuller bore animosity towards police over an investigation of allegations made by his ex-girlfriend.
The day before the attack, an officer asked him to attend a voluntary interview of claims he had sent the woman threatening Facebook messages

The Rotherham petrol station attack. Yes I was aware that there two two perps, I just wrote guy instead of guys. I did not assert that they picked him at RANDOM, they picked on him cos he was Pakistani rather than just the colour of his skin. But their drugged up lifestyle meant that they apt to lash out. Their choice of victim was not random but driven by who they felt angry about, and at other times they might have been black people, ginger haired people or supporters of an opposing football team.
It was their psychotic nature that was their driver not the press.
When such psychos lash out it is wrong to put them in the same category as terrorists. It looks like a feeble attempt to try to even up the attack count between Islamic and non-Islamic terrorism.
Such political games do not help to reduce the number of future victims.

Lots of comments on here about the young PC – married 4 weeks ago, murdered last night. And yep, apparently 10 men have been arrested, but what no one has mentioned, and it doesn’t take Sherlock Holmes to summise, but 10 men between 13 and 30 ? out in the middle of the countryside ?

C’mon ! who lives in the countryside and go on the rob ? another scourge of this country – travellers. I hope they string the f……g lot of them up. I live in an area where we are plagued with the bastards every summer, and if something isn’t nailed down they will have it away. Many years ago they even came into my rear garden and tried to nick my whippets – one occasion when I wish I had a gun. Fortunately they were disturbed so left empty handed. They get no sympathy in this region.

    Ken Clarke on R4
Since when did he become the father of the house?
He spluttered through questions on whether his bunch of Remainer’s parliament has the legal right to negotiate Brexit..he just spluttered shite. (sorry I have no other words for it).

They are so certain of themselves with no evidence..so apparently according to His majesty Ken Clarke the original Brexit vote doesn’t count…and so we need democracy restored –

How exactly is his potential stuck together government going to negotiate with teh EU – the EU have said they won’t..
What he means is we bend over and take it again just like May did!

Senior contributors might recall the TV leadership debate between Cuddly Ken and Ten-pints Hague in which Cuddles rapidly lost his temper and gave what is now a predictably bellicose and arrogant performance. This immediately lost any public sympathy along with any chance of leading his party.
        Nothing changes, nor should it.

Father of the House compares the Government’s Brexit negotiation stance to a similar situation in the two World wars to justify his unity government leadership. PM editors encouraging and no interruption. How are BBC journos really any different from the Russian bots in trying to pull the public debate to the extreme and to inject conspiratorial narratives into the conversation?

Ken Clarke playing Lord Halifax in wanting to surrender to the EU/nazis . About right . The BBC has a readiness to undermine the British Government to the advantage of the EU .

The remainers also seem to assume that the EU will extend – again – A50 . But that is a dangerous assumption – hopefully .
Traitors – and that’s an accurate word .

This whole brexit is uncovering just how amoral these people are – an MP criminal released from prison , ‘tory’ MPs willing to put a Marxist into number 10 and a perverted speaker breaching rules to support his own beliefs .

        Almost beyond belief .

How long before Mayor Khans friends start dragging people off trains and setting them on fire because they are the “wrong” religion.

Still even then I expect Khan and Lammy would declare it is all the fault of Trump – well whites in general .

And the BBC , well they would just stand there next to the burning bodies nodding.

Apologies if I’m late to the party, but ‘Reported’ on the BBC Business blog/page yesterday:

‘Comic convention cancels event due to Brexit’

Seemingly the organisers have cancelled the convention because of ‘Brexit Uncertainty’. ‘The fan convention ….says that it has been affected by the weakness of the pound.’

OK I can see why that may impact it.

    Then we get this:

‘…we are very dependent on the pound to the dollar exchange rate and recently the pound dived to its lowest rate in decades, which means that most US guests’ costs have risen dramatically’.

HOLD ON, I’m not a currency dealer, but doesn’t a weak pound vs the US dollar mean cheaper costs for American visitors? Albeit the Beeb were just quoting from twatter or similar. But, jeez, don’t the BBC ‘journalists’ read their copy before they post? Nope thought not.
MARVELLOUS! So not only is it expensive for Brits to go on holiday to Europe and America because of the weak pound (although they may stay in the UK and boost the UK economy slightly (never ever mentioned)) , but it’s ALSO expensive for Americans etc to come to the UK? Doh….cake and eat it springs to mind!

Again, from yesterday, something reported by Reuters and Bloomberg, but obviously ‘missed’ by the BBC ‘jounalists’:

    https://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-eurozone-banks/euro-zone-bank-share-meltdown-brings-prices-to-brink-of-1980s-idUKKCN1V517U

    https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-08-15/deutsche-bank-s-fresh-low-underscores-european-banking-s-decline

I wonder why this was missed by the BBC ‘Business guru’s’? Maybe if the phrase ‘Brexit uncertainty’ had been there they would have been on it like sh*t off a shovel?

Can’t think of any instance recently* (*i.e. the last few years) where the BBC have actually reported anything in an unbiased, balanced, even handed manner, or anything that doesn’t confirm to their narrow political mantra…..anti Brexit, anti Trump, anti american (unless it’s by a democrat), anti auntie etc etc…..

I looked up the migrant story you mentioned
