Dare I suggest it may be something to do with the last eight opinion polls which show The Brexit Party with an average of just over ten percent?
In the 2015 election Ukip scored twelve point eight percent of the vote and it still wasn’t enough to win any new seats.
About five weeks out from the 2015 general election Ukip was polling in the high teens. It slowly fells as the day got nearer. Not helped by Farage’s stupid announcement that he would retire from politics if he didn’t win his constituency thereby giving the major parties a huge incentive to make damn sure he didn’t.
If TBP is only polling 10% now unless he has an ace or two up his sleeve then it will be an ‘also ran’ on the day but worse than that if it is seen to have obstructed a Tory victory and thereby letting in a Remainer government. I am not sure there will be much fight left in the voting population to continue the struggle.

All the way through the turgid, barely bearable last several months my mind has wandered to a famous quote from Harold Wilson, who said that ‘politics is the art of the possible’.
No deal is not going to happen.
TBP may be the absolutists dream but here is the thing. They are going to come nowhere. They may however create some intended or unintended consequences depending on the uneven-ness of their moderate vote constituency by constituency.
Since the Tories are the only ones likely to deliver any kind of Brexit at all, my suggestion is that we take a deep breath and through gritted teeth support them.

JimS, whilst I may not like a Boris Brexit, I have to ask what a Corbyn Brexit would be like. Actually what a Corbyn Britain would be like and I really really fear it.
This is the same problem we all have at most elections, we are ‘buying’ a package and we might not like all the contents.
Indeed sometimes it is more a case of going for the package that contains less of what we don’t like than what we like.
The 2016 Referendum should have avoided this problem, a simple question, a simple answer, no ‘baggage’. Unfortunately our MPs didn’t want to hear the answer. How do we get ones that did?
Remainers just want to remain full stop. Mainly because they want to win after they lost. They do not want to leave with a deal as the very word leave makes them feel anxious so they just want a full 100%
I’m not voting Tory. It looks like we don’t need remainers at this point. Leavers seem to be on a suicide mission now. How the English are falling into line, just as they have been told to do. To vote Conservative is to join the orderly queue for your own annihilation.
Lucy I still think that despite the leftward tack of the Tories over the past thirty years they are going to allow or promote less immigration than Labour or the LDs. There is no party with any hope of influencing policy which opposes immigration. I am voting Tory because it is the least bad option . I wish there was a party which better represented my views but there isn’t.
I think that we are going back to two party politics again.
It is not just a case of who you want to win a GE but who you want to keep out and the Corbyn factor is scaring a lot of people.
The Lib Dems are dipping as well so no doubt Labour have a more clear run with the BBC behind them all the way!
Two party politics? Britain is a one party state. It just so happens that the party has several factions and that they use different names, such as Conservative, Labour and LibDem. But the differences stem largely from personality clashes and the policies – mass immigration, global warming, gender and race obsessions, membership of EU, interventionist wars, taxpayer-funded state broadcaster and so on – are the same.
You will not get Corbyn for long, even if he did manage to win. The Blairites would oust him very quickly. Blair is poison at the ballot box so they need the Marxist brothers to do the electoral hard work.

Its really a juxtaposition of when Labour ‘won’ the GLC elections back when Margaret Thatcher was making the UK great again, with Mackintosh at the helm. He was a fairly normal bloke, but swiftly ousted by Livingstone and his commie cronies, and the downward spiral started.

Very interesting points actually and he does explain a few things. The BBC obviously see an advantage of TBP standing as ‘it splits the leave vote’ and in a lot of debate groups and Facebook plages I have been on there is a lot of hope from left wingers, some actually leave voters themselves (more causal leavers if anything) the TBP will ‘get rid of the Tories’
Also he points out that by doing a deal with TSP has the disadvantage of pushing the Tory remainers towards the Lib Dems which is why I was always skeptical about a pact and I myself wonder if Labour leave voters who are not pro Corbyn might be more reluctant to vote in TBP if under a pact it would be seen as helping the Tories.
Overall it is a catch 22 situation.
One thing I had noticed during the TBP surge in the polls around the time of the Euro elections was that as they grew so did the Lib Dems mean that Labour remainers who would vote Labour to keep the Tories out where less scared of the Tories but more scared of the hard Brexit supporting Brexit Party. As Boris grew in popularity TBP took a steady decline which meant that the hard Brexit thread was removed enough to have less reliance of the Lib Dems from hard remainers but with the Tories again having a chance that would have spooked enough people against the Tories back to Labour.
Recent opinion polls do show that both the Tories and Labour are gaining votes while the Lib Dems and and TBP are dropping. This election looks like it is back to the old fashioned left against right rather than leave or remain as it was a few moths ago.

First past the post killed UKIP and it will kill the BP. We saw how well they did under PR in the Euro elections.
I feel Nigel Farage has made a mistake in spreading the BP too thinly. It is a very new party, and the chance of winning even one seat is low. It should have targetted no more than 20 seats and poured its resources into them, hoping to win two or three.
That’s the best a new party like the BP can possibly hope for under FPTP.
I do think that TBP could do well if they focus on a number of seats and poured their energy into those areas. A first election is hard for any party as they would have no idea how things would really go until the results come in. UKIP faced the same issues as they had a lot of support and votes but it never translated into seats with the exception of Paul Nuttall.
The Lib Dems themselves complained about FPTP as that is what shuts them out of power while Blair seemed happy to keep it during his era as it actually benefited him more at the time

Am afraid I like to Exocet my points about BBC bias and errors, so I really do need to listen to some of R4’s output. It is becoming a bit of a trade off between personal well-being and being ‘up’ with the media flow, though. A GE seems to be a good opportunity for time off.

No one questions that doctors are on employment contracts with the NHS which mean they are not directly employed by the state .
My knowledge is limited but the mad PFI contracts do more damage to their NHS than anything other than the pension pot .

An amazingly biased interview with someone called ‘David King’ on Radio 4 PM this evening. There were no questions put to him regarding proof of his carbon based climate change alarmism.
He was allowed to praise Labour and attack the Tories, and at the end he even said he would be voting Labour or Green.
How bad does the bias have to get before this cowardly useless incompetent Tory bunch off assholes sit up from their troughs and take notice let alone do something?
That is a good question but if any party dared to claim that they where going to challenge the BBC then watch them be challenged back.
The thing is a lot of the public or at least those who do not follow Brexit fully would see little bias as they will just not notice. It is not because they are stupid or anything but not everyone seems to pick up on these things.

Whilst I agree that abusive behaviour to hospital staff is not acceptable I see this could end in tears.
For instance if a patient with an undiscovered mental condition is ejected and subsequently dies of their untreated condition be it drugs or brain disfunction etc. could it lead to court action and massive compensation claims from their family.
