Watchers of the Far Left Biased BBC will be heartened by the fear of cut backs and , hopefully , job losses . Perhaps their world isn’t as cosy as they assumed with the accompanying shock that a growing number of people just see its’ bias and care less for it .

On the photo last week where a Ugandan climate protester was cropped out, the Guardian has a two minute video by Vanessa Nakate in which she talks through tears about racism and being “scrubbed out”.

It is an unfortunate incident — speaking from professional experience I can say that the edit the photographer made is understandable according to the rules of composition and image editing. AP say it was cropped “purely on composition grounds” on a tight deadline. (Also converging verticals and colour of clothes would have factored in.)

Decisions like this are made all the time… but it doesn’t help that the POC is the fall guy / girl. Aesthetic conventions are no match for the juggernaut of endemic racism, so there was only ever going to be one outcome.

Anyway now that image editing is a hot topic, how about looking at bbc.co.uk, sofa brochures, bank posters, supermarket ads etc? I look forward to getting my spot on the Guardian lamenting that they are “erasing our voices… erasing our stories…”

The four girls on the right all have that sad “we’re all doomed because of climate change” look in their faces.

The girl on the left has that happy “everything is going to be okay” look in her face.

I suspect that is the reason for the crop.

I see that last night the troll tried to spin someones statement
“the glaring inconsistencies in the enumeration of those who had been occupying flats in the Grenfell Tower tragedy”
    He/she replied
There were no “glaring inconsistencies”; just another one of the endless (and increasingly desperate) attempts to assimilate Grenfell into a continuing anti-immigrant narrative promoted by sites such as this.

em the troll is purely spinning, cos that original statement says nothing about race.
It was true that at the beginning the authorities had problems enumerating the body count
cos the number of people in each flat didn’t match the rental records.
The troll seems to be implying that if anyone dares to examine the details, they must be racist.
It is an attempt to close down discussion.

I think in view of the possibly massive damaging effects that may have been caused to both children and society by this it needs to be investigated officially and thoroughly by a scientifically unbiased body of professionals. If it is found that the series was less than truthful and wilfully designed to be intimidating then action needs to be taken to unmask and call to account all of those involved including the producers, advisors, activist or not and the BBC to deter others from generating factually incorrect media purely for either profit or agenda motivations.

I see OFCOM is OK with battery acid being flung:

The media regulator said the comic’s remarks on satirical show Heresy “had clear potential to offend listeners”.

But it concluded her comments – made last June – were “unlikely to encourage or incite the commission of a crime”.

Ofcom said it also “took into account that Ms Brand immediately qualified her comments, making it clear they should not be taken seriously”.

The broadcasting watchdog said it had considered “the audience’s likely expectations of Jo Brand’s style – and of this established show, which sets out to challenge accepted views in society through provocative comedy.”

So what they are saying is that because Jo Brand is a zero-talent, potty-mouth and everyone know it, she can say what she likes?

    The normal saying
    “Go woke, go broke”
but tonight’s R4 show manages to twist that
as : “Get woke or go broke?”
The Economist’s Philip Coggan asks whether businesses are serious about getting woke.
Businesses want to attract consumers by advertising their commitment to liberal causes like diversity and tackling climate change.
It is a phenomenon known as woke capitalism.
But is it a welcome sign that multinationals are becoming socially responsible?
Or is it just the latest trick by business to persuade us to part with our cash,

How very gratifying to see Al-beeb take a firm stand against antisemitic groups on the far-right.

No doubt they will condemn certain antisemitic scriptures too.

Quran (9:5) – “So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them…”

Verse 5:60 says that Allah transformed Jews of the past into apes and pigs. This is echoed by verses 7:166 and 2:65.

A hadith (Bukhari 54:524) says that Muhammad believed rats to be “mutated Jews” (also confirmed by Sahih Muslim 7135 and 7136).

Verse 7:176 compares unbelievers to “panting dogs” with regard to their idiocy and worthlessness.

Verse 7:179 says they are like “cattle” only worse.

Verse 9:28 says the unbelievers are unclean.

Verse 6:111 says they are ignorant.

Verse 4:76 says they are helpers of the devil.

Local news on Monday evening with Peter Levy. The trailer at 6.15 suggested that there was going to be up to £100 per week for every adult in the city (and not that it was just a Lib Dem mad idea). The spokesman was a young Male Councillor, certainly under 30. The Council (Labour) have written to the Chancellor asking him for up to half a billion pounds to put the idea into action. He kept saying the money would be spent locally without an explanation of how people couldn’t spend the money on Amazon. Nor was he asked where the money would come from, who would have to earn it. Why did Look North even give space to this? The only thing I can say in mitigation is that Peter has already read an email saying it is an idea from cloud cuckoo land. It was just a mad socialist idea of the sort we rejected at the General Election. Are posters here suffering the same left wing propaganda on their local news?

You think Linekar said all this all out his own thinking? Seriously?

It’s headlining on the BBC webpage! https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-51270012

      https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/jan/27/gary-lineker-interview-bbc-var-klopp-guardiola-brexit-licence-fee

This is clearly the in house view of the BBC as communicated by a mouthpiece, and then pasted onto the headline news.
The BBC knows change has to come, and it is pushing the outcome it wants through their mouthpieces.

If it can’t have a criminally sanctioned TV Tax it wants a flat fee system where the cost goes up, and the poor get it for free. Essentially if you can afford to pay, then you’ll perhaps pay double while others will get it for free.

This will salve the consciences of the wealthy recipients of the TV tax, but in practice it isn’t going to change very much by the sounds of it.

Some of the media have been showing the map the crashed helicopter took, and where it should have gone.

Now I know the USA is a big place and people use planes to get around the place, but this was a fairly short hop from one part of a city to another.
The fact is that if they had taken a car they’d be alive today, and it probably wouldn’t have been much difference in time.

But all that pales somewhat in that this happened in LA, Wokesville, Climate Change central which is lecturing everyone else about fossil fuel use, and yet sees commuting short distances by helicopter as normal.

Oh but I’m so important I couldn’t possibly drive appears to be a motivation. Or I’m so important, everyone else is doing it so I should too.

If they believe climate change is real then they should lead by example not by diktat and horrible authoritarianism.

The BBC have gone big on the Holocaust Memorial Day this year, slightly/partly/mostly/wholly (you choose) because it is the Seventy-Fith Anniversary of the Liberation of Auschwitz. In all their coverage this year and in previous years, there has never been any mention of Corrie Ten Boom and her family that I can recall.

    I wonder why?

Guest, no worries, shame you didn’t report the typo. 😉

Wonder if maxi will spot it. Not that it will give him an angle or anything.

This wizened bit of bitter Effluence Graun nonsense also coated himself in glory over Holocaust Memorial Day.
