Midweek Thread 17 June 2020

We are witnessing the BBC morphing from a wholly biased anti British anti Right anti Judeo Christian propaganda machine into an undeclared Campaigning Operation without any controls or accountability. Its journalists AKA campaigners now preach from pulpits in the TV Studios on a daily basis ;
“ holding power to account” is now just a meaningless phrase for the BBC . Time to End it .

That is so sad to watch. Two police officers being remarkably patient and then the situation suddenly changes.

Fight or flight seems to be hard-wired into people and I don’t think any of us could be certain how we would react.

With the benefit of hindsight the one mistake that the DUI certified officer made was not to tell Brooks that he intended to arrest him, so the move to put the handcuffs on was unexpected and triggered Brooks to ‘fight or flight’.

I don’t envy anyone who has a job that can suddely flip from the slow, boring, procedural into fast-moving unpredictability.

Is it only me that thinks what Dominic Raab said was ok? The BBC with our fav gobshite Evan seem to think he was wrong and apparently his comment re game of Thrones was taken literally not with the meaning..from a long time ago..the BBC said Martin Luther King did it….what happened to white history….there are many images from at least 14th century of knights swearing fealty on their knee..so Raab’s interpretation is correct..but BBC seem ignorant of the original meaning….why am I surprised

Glad he said he wouldn’t take the knee..sorry he apologised for upsetting idiots

No you’re not JA (see previous page posts), l thought he would hold his end up, but like most who go against the grain, once the media and twatter mob get going in full rant, there is a full on apology and “not intending to offend” repost.

Its a fear of the backlash and their careers, and of course if an ‘apology’ isn’t forthcoming then the media will bang on about it for days, beating the poor sod into submission. And even worse if you’re a politician when its not only your job, but the party and then putting the leader in an invidious position. We’ve seen it happen so often, hence why those idiots Ant & Dec and the others went into full apology mode for blacking up years ago, because their careers were on the line.

The non whites may be having their day in the sun at the moment, but in the long term the older white population won’t be having any truck with upsetting our ‘norm’. And if companies start employing on the colour of skin alone to appease and to be seen to be doing the ‘right thing’, then it wont take long before the younger white population will start to feel like their parents and grandparents. Its a waiting game.

Reminds me of the part in Orwells 1984 where people are made to confess to crimes they never comitted, in some cases ludicrous crimes.

Coupled with ‘Hate’, newspeak, and the destruction of history it begs the question as to why no one in the cowardly useless incompetent Tory party is speaking out about this.

Its not just the Tory party, its ANY party, any tv/radio presenter, who absolutely wont dare to speak out about it. I’ve no doubt that what they all think is a different matter, but a salary in the bank is worth more than making a dogmatic stand or an off the cuff remark – hence the number of slip of the tongues and numerous apologies !

How many times have we heard/read the platitude “its not what this company stands for” and “these remarks are not those held by the company”.

Apologise, apologise, apologise. Three words that should replace the 3 lions on the coat of arms of the United Kingdom.

Perhaps there’s a tiny hope that, faced with the escalating madness here and in the US, the cowed masses will finally wake up, stand up and say: we’re not racist, we refuse to take the knee, now get an education, get a job and p*ss off BLM – and you too BBC, stop stoking hatred and division in our society.

Dominic Raab is ‘widely’ criticised for refusing to ‘take the knee’.

    Really? By whom?

The exact same story is the leader on the D Mail website. The comments section (with over 12K entries) shows every ‘top’ comment supportive. The very top comment has 29,000 likes! There is no equivalent HYS on the BBC because they know full well the comments would be similar, thereby undermining their own bias.

I suspect the truth is, once again the media and establishment are critical in complete contrast to public opinion.

So, given the reality and blatant ‘Fake news’; where in Britain is the headline “Dominic Raab is widely applauded for taking a stand against the cultural Satsi”? Nowhere of course.

The only media balance now in the UK is on sites like this. The US at least has Fox News, we have nothing in the UK. It’s like walking into a constant liberal headwind everytime you read a digital newspaper or turn on the radio.

Irrespective of the rights and wrongs – we’ve now lost the ability to simply disagree and be respected for holding a differing opinion. There is only one truth now it seems!

Furthermore, like D Raab, if I feel kneeling is a subservient gesture, then I bloody well-do. No amount of convincing is going to change that.

As it happens, I’ve read the history behind the Kaepernick kneel and the BLM movement, more widely, and would never kneel. I’m not convinced it’s such an innocent gesture and suspect most people feel the same.

Talking Pictures are showing a whole host of children’s adventure series that I remember fondly from when I was a wee lad.
This is just about the only channel I can stomach these days. William Tell was on the other morning and at one point in the story the Swiss, who had been invaded by Austrians, were told to “kneel before the hat.” It was a symbolic gesture of submission to the Austrian emperor.
There are clear similarities with today’s nonsense with these boneheads that support the anarchistic BLM.
In most European cultures you only bend the knee if you are subservient.
Why in the name of God, would any right thinking Englishman, bend the knee to these oiks.

When I eventually receive my knighthood, for long hours and selfless services to the pub trade (boozing) then I’ll gladly bend the knee.

Well, we have so many articulate supporters of BLM, white and black, with degrees and knowledge of history of oppressed people. Now is the chance for them to put their knowledge to good work. Go to Africa, take over as they are trying to do here, and turn the place into a paradise, with politics based on the true equality our people here are failing to achieve.

GWF- I understand what you are doing, but, let’s take face value. Still worth some reflection.
I would agree that we wish Africa and its people every success. Not least, because it is in our own interests.
Where I would disagree is that ‘it is the legacy of white colonialists’.
Most of these, if not all, are long gone. They may well have exploited, but they also built.
I wonder, for example, what result we would get if every Zimbabwean were asked whether they were better off under ‘racist’ Ian Smith, or under Robert Mugabe? I wonder what the late Joshua Nkomo or Ndabaningi Sithole would say? No fans of Ian Smith, they.
And I do understand the human dignity dimension.
Regrettably, the mess has gone on since the 60s, when most of the colonialists went home.
I can see especially most Radio 4 presenters and guests enjoying life in Bulawayo or Kinshasa. Whether or not to ‘bend the knee’ will be the least of their problems.
Not to mention Huw, Fiona or Clive. all of whom would thrive…

You are correct. However, my expression ‘let us agree’ was not to attribute guilt to the white colonists but merely to accept as a starting point the (wrongheaded ) belief that is held by the BLM and supporters.

I watched some of the channel 5 series with Portillo treading carefully around the former empire . It’s prescient in current circumstances – considering it was probably put together in 2019.

There was an interesting exchange in India where Portillo showed some of the sins of the British Upper Class in their treatment of Indians . He asked a local university type whether it should be wiped away .

The answer was ‘no’ – it was as much part of Indian history as it was British ….I’d say leave slave traders ( in Uk) where they are as a reminder of the past and not extinguish it .

But as we know there’s more going on than merely a few blacks feeling hard done by – it’s momentum and the like within the MSM thrashing around to get a reaction .
Commission a few reports – get a few recommendations – dump some borrowed tax payers cash into a few ethnic projects – dosh out a few gongs to non whites – then move along .

Obviously there are a few complications like the US election in 5 months as well as some inevitable ‘event’ where whitee ( plod /politician ) is held up to be crucified …. a couple of levels up from the Raab nonsense today …..

They create an atmosphere and a mindset where only a strong-minded politician would tell them politely to…
Key reason why Pres T is such a target.

Earlier local radio appeared to say Lincoln University had apologised to black students.

Just now the TV report started out saying that, but then it became apparent the uni hasn’t apologpised
..rather it was the students own Student Union that issued the apology.
Furthermore they have now deleted their apology tweet
and apologised for lifting their apology words from an Essex Student’s union apology.

    BBC webstory below
but there is is a new special news stoi on the plagiarism
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lincolnshire-53080922

Black students have ‘been failed’ – Student Union boss
The chief executive of the University of Lincoln’s Student Union says the union has “failed” black students.

Writing on the union’s Twitter page, James Brooks said he believed that black voices had largely been “ignored” during his 20-year involvement with the Student Union (SU) movement and said the body in Lincoln would instigate a series of immediate changes.
His comments come on the back of continued worldwide anti-racism protests sparked by the death of George Floyd in the US.

Among a series of changes announced, Mr Brooks said that with immediate effect Lincoln SU would
    * guarantee a preliminary interview to all black, Asian and minority ethnic applicants for SU posts*,
implement training for all SU staff to address any unconscious bias around race and introduce new procedures around the investigation of allegations of racism

    * That positive discrimination statement is of course racist.

Boris and his government have lost it, and after his sterling performance on Talk radio Raab put out a twatter statement afterwards saying he supported the aims of BLM after all.
Smells of Downing street all over. I wonder whether Boris,s soppy girlfriend realises what the implications of defunding the police could have on women who are not protected by 24 hour security?

And for the benefit of any trolls that are looking , when I say say “we” I refer to those of us of all colours who still believe in democracy, truth and a well ordered society.

I wonder what Dame Vera Lynn (RIP) thought of this madness, let us just hope in her last couple of weeks she wasnt too aware of the betrayal of the nation so many of our naive youth were so central to.

I know my late mum who thought the best of everyone (and was pleased when Obama was elected – because he seemed like a nice chap) would have been heartbroken to see our once great country being converted to little better than a running sewer by a heady mix of naive snowflakes , cynical race baiting progressives and cowardly politicians.

I think Mr Rabb was very much in tune with the public mood. It’s the BBC and the rest of the media, along with a vast swathe of politicians that is misjudging it, if the YouGov poll below is any guide.

The paradox is corps are supposed to serve the FULL RAINBOW that is the British public
but the Green, the Red and the Pink have powerful lobbying
and want corps to specialise in their agendas.

Well you can’t have your cake and eat it
      If corps favour some colours
      they are disfavouring some others.
The laws in the UK arw for the whole population are set by democratic government .
So that’s all a corp needs to do : Obey the law
that way they can serve the whole population properly.

We know that corps have money, that money comes from us the customer
So when they say we’ll be giving 5% to and X & Y charity or cause
I’m like that’s my money you’re giving away, so why don’t you give me a 5% discount and then iI will have a choice to which charity I direct that money.

His main point is that the left is at war with reality. This is the crux of it all. The left wants to bring into existence a world of their desire . If the reality of us and the existing world conflicts then to the left the existing world is wrong and must be destroyed and replaced. This is the driving force that led to the French, Russian and all other so called revolutions.
It always fails and ends in the tyranny of either one man or one group. There has never been a successful attack on reality.
The danger is that as the revolution starts to fail it becomes unstable and turns against itself and all of us.
The strength of our system here is that we avoided this trap by allowing reform and change to happen incrementally.
A democratic society based on a belief in freedom will always fight back. At first it might appear to be crumbling but that is in it’s nature. As it’s members realise what is at stake they organise and start a counter attack. That is what is going on in the USA. It will happen here.,

      There are Blacks and Blacks.

By and large the ‘blacks’ with English names, like Winston, are English-speaking, Christian church-attending and are cheerful in nature with a wicked sense of humour.

Then there is the other lot from Africa for whom none of the above applies.

Of course the whole BAME thing is just a ‘social construct’, something that those on the left tell us doesn’t exist. In this instance they are right. It is a grouping of people that are supposed to be opposed to the indigenous population and therefore united in a common cause – a standard technique of ‘the left’.

In reality the Caribbean don’t like the Africans, the Pakistanis don’t like the Indians and the Chinese never wanted to be in their gang anyway. We see the same with the ‘alphabet’ people, the lesbian ‘lady’ would prefer not to share a space with ‘willy-women’ (and if that space is a prison they are right to be concerned).

Didn’t people used to say that people joined the Labour party to disagree and the Conservative party to get married? Certainly the politics of the left is all about division and anger and ‘small c’ conservatism of arriving at a consensus.

    2016:

Fifa has fined all four home nations for displaying poppies during World Cup qualifiers around Armistice Day.

England and Scotland players wore armbands featuring the symbol when they met at Wembley on 11 November.

Wales and Northern Ireland’s respective games featured displays on the pitch or in the stands to mark the event.

England’s Football Association will appeal against the fine of 45,000 Swiss francs (£35,311), with Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland yet to decide.

Scotland and Wales were both fined 20,000 Sfr (£15,694), and Northern Ireland 15,000 Sfr (£11,770).

A Scottish FA (SFA) spokesman confirmed discussions between the home nations have already taken place and an official appeal is likely to be lodged early in the new year.

Fifa disciplinary committee chairman Claudio Sulser said he “fully respected” the commemorations but stressed the rules “need to be applied to all member associations”.

“The display, among others, of any political or religious symbol is strictly prohibited,” he added.

“In the stadium and on the pitch, there is only room for sport, nothing else.”

The Rhodes Scholarship is for two years in the first instance. The Rhodes Scholarship covers Oxford University (and College) fees as well as providing an annual stipend. For the 2019/20 academic year, the stipend will be £15,900 per annum (£1,325 per month) from which Scholars pay all living expenses, including accommodation. Please note – this is not sufficient to cover partners or dependants.

The detailed Conditions of Tenure document outlines permitted combinations of degrees, and how many years of study are covered by the Scholarship, as the latter depends on course choice – for example up to three years of fees and stipend is available to Scholars who choose to undertake a DPhil (PhD) at Oxford.

Following selection for the Scholarship, the Rhodes Trust will cover the fee required to apply to study at the University of Oxford. The Trust will cover the fee for a Tier 4 study visa and the associated International Health Surcharge (IHS), which enables international students to access the UK’s National Health Service. The Rhodes Trust will cover two economy class flights – to and from the UK – for the beginning and end of studies in Oxford.

On arrival in Oxford, Scholars receive a settling in allowance (£225 in 2019-20). For those Scholars who transition to a second course of study in Oxford, they will again receive assistance to cover the fee for visa renewal and further application for IHS.

A number of research grants are also available to Rhodes Scholars, on application, which enables Scholars to, for example, attend international conferences or conduct additional fieldwork.

Quotes from Nelson Mandela on The Mandela Rhodes Foundation:
“We are sometimes still asked by people how we could agree to have our name joined to that of Cecil John Rhodes in this Mandela Rhodes initiative. To us, the answer is easy, and we have explained the logic of our decision on a number of occasions. We have referred to our constitution’s injunction for us to come together across the historical divides, to build our country together with a future equally shared by all.

“…The event of this morning gives a further concrete answer to that question. The erstwhile company of Cecil John Rhodes, in which members of the Oppenheimer family were and remain such illustrious and great South Africans, has today once more demonstrated its commitment to transformation – and, in fact, reparation…

The Left is at war with reality because they want to change that reality. Our world must become their world. We seem to lack the courage to tell them where to get off !
Statues must be toppled, films banned, you must bend the knee to black humans. Look at Africa, and this will strike you as the ultimate perversion.
Not because the people are ‘bad’; cos they need Western or Asian help to get remotely near our standards of healthcare, industrial enterprise, building infrastructure, business development, social development, skill and knowledge building, democratic institutions, etc etc.
So we have had a flood of migrants looking for a ‘better life’.
    Fine, if legal.
BUT, after a generation, NOW THEY ARE TELLING US WHAT TO DO!! Because they are more violent and aggressive, and white anarchist/Marxist/’Liberal’ students, Antifa, Labour, BBC, Guardian etc. help them to intimidate and subdue us, to prepare for conquest. of our culture, then our nation.
    It’s rediculous.

The Left were smashed in the last election and now they are seeking power by enlisting other means . It is assisted by Al Beeb, Marxist students, and race baiters, all grabbing the opportunity offered by the current pandemic and the Brexit negotiations . Unfortunately the government is weak and timid despite its huge majority . Boris needs to take onboard the old idiom “know your enemy”. He would do well to dump his current guru and enlist Farage . Nigel did offer but was told he would be “put back in his box”.

With the General Election four years in the future, real separation from the EU imminent, the economy still paralysed by questionable lockdown regulations and our political and media class oddly obsessed with racial issues, the Guardian’s front page today prioritises a report into the electorial woes of the party they support – Labour.

Funnily enough the BBC has this report as a major story on their on-line news site.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-53096233

Don’t bother reading it. Even if you like the Labour Party it won’t tell you anything of substance. It’s all banal platitudes:

‘ the party needed to “build a winning coalition of voters which spans generations, geographies and outlooks”, while holding onto Labour’s existing supporters and “inspiring more younger voters”‘

It doesn’t say what policies Labour ought to adopt. Still, it’s a rough blueprint for their media supporters highlighting the need to reach target audiences with Labour’s messaging.

It was clearly just an exercise in “Gotcha” tactics. Her hero, Karl Marx would have been so proud. And indeed that fact was proven (if anyone had any doubts) when she asked, out of context for health, boldly, “Would you ‘take the knee'”. Just to identify to their BAME listeners who is, or not, on their ‘side’.
The BBC are on the tack to identify the position of all politicians but particularly the array of so-called, “Conservatives” who, to a person, should have replied, “I only take the knee for our Queen”.

I heard that interview this morning, Guest Who, as for her ‘sitting in her car doing nothing illegal‘ – bullcr@p – it was clear that she had committed an offence, driving around with heavily tinted front windows – a hindrance to effective and safe driving.

My question is, having seen such cars on the road, how could the police officers possibly have known her skin colour before they stopped her? You can’t see through some of these windows, which, precisely why she was stopped initially.

So how could her being stopped have anything to do with racism.

And, from that point on, acording to the body mike tapes, she clearly obstructed the police in their job.

She was ‘totally confused’, she said – yeah, right ! Uniformed officers ask you politely to roll down your window several times, ask you to open your car door several times, and you refused at every turn – suspicious, much ?

Still, new defence for obstructing the police – “Honest, guv, I was confused at the time !”
