The failing biased BBC continues to lose licence fees as more people realise that it is now an organisation without ‘diversity of opinion ‘ or even thought – just Far Left propaganda aimed at dividing the country . A long struggle to kill it .

    That’s not true
.. There is maybe something like once they are in hospital black people survive 4 times less

but overall the risk is not much more.

She said black people and she was quoting the Guardian.

But as I said she made out it was a general rule, but no it apples to a particular type of hospital scenario.
ie it did happen in reality, but rather MODELLED what they thought would happen if black people were as old as white people.

It was early data ” 2 March to 10 April”
          and published May 7th

I suspect that Spiegelhalter would say it’s rubbish.

Just a minor correction re your post at 9.55 a.m., Stew, in case Piku or maxi or Wild Woman is watching, it is brown people who are more likely to die in hospital from Covid-19; specifically Bangladheshis and, more specifically, Bangladheshi males.

Would the worst combo to be male , over 70. Asthmatic , bangla. And Obese …. it will be interesting – if the virus characteristics stay the same – whether once the analysis of deaths is fully analysed that remains the same- although troubled by cowboy doctors signing off death certificates without accuracy …
I go back to that ethnic impact survey where they left the recommendations off – in my opinion for political / cultural reasons as opposed to medical ones . Labour have pressed for the recommendations a bit …..

…. but to impose / suggest stronger longer lock downs on the basis of race gets a bit ….. sensitive ? – particularly if the visible ethnic complexion of the NHS is 40 %?

i stand to be corrected but managed to dig out some stats which didnt fit the narrative so have had no exposure.
But…..I think there is a disproportionate excess of BAME admissions to hospital for cv19.
Once they are in hospital their chances of survival per capita are the same as for white people. Their apparent death rate appears higher because their admissions are higher. The BBC love to mention the death rate but never mention the admission rate. No prizes for guessing why.
So the inference for instance that BAME suffer through e.g racist attitudes denying them good treatment is shown to be rubbish. Once in the system they get the same treatment and outcomes as others do.

The funniest garden programme that I ever saw was made in Scotland. The presenters had gone to visit a man of mature years who had an absolutely verdant garden on a new housing estate.

How had he achieved this result given that new housing estate gardens are 90% builders’ waste?

He had a mate who was a farmer and they used his JCB and bogie to dig up the old garden and move it to the new house!

I bet BBC Scotland lost a researcher that day!

Well worth offering this here-some of you may have seen it but for those who have not it is well worth thr read.
    MOANERS BLAME THE GOVERNMENT
I hear SO many people constantly moaning so here’s my thoughts. And just to be clear I didn’t actually vote for Boris Johnson.
I feel like if he’d have locked down sooner people would have moaned saying he panicked and caused a longer lockdown than was necessary. Agree
I feel like if he’d locked down later people would have moaned saying he should have locked down sooner. Agree.
If he ends the lockdown soon people will moan saying he’s putting people’s lives at risk.
If he keeps the lockdown going people will moan saying he’s wrecking the economy, the long term results of which will be worse than that of the virus (for example the vast number of lives lost during the Great Depression).
If he keeps the schools closed people will moan saying children are being denied their right to education and people can’t go back to work until the schools open.
If he opens the schools people will moan saying it’s not safe for children and teachers to go back.
They managed to get a furlough scheme going in next to no time – 80% of your wages covered for sitting at home, so that companies didn’t have to get rid of staff. People moan that it’s not enough. Then you get rich companies / people around the world using it as money saving exercises rather than a last resort to making someone redundant.
People say our lockdown was too draconian and a waste of time and to look at Sweden who didn’t implement a lockdown. Yet people also say our lockdown was too weak and to look at China, who were literally spraying the streets with disinfectant and no-one could leave their houses.
People demanded an exit plan, so he gives an exit plan. So people moan and say it’s mixed messages and should have been released before the bank holiday.
He says he’s following scientific advice, people dismiss the scientific advice saying it’s rubbish.
He says you can now have unlimited exercise as he appreciates how important it is for mental and physical well being, yet people moan saying they can now exercise but can’t see their family.
He’s encouraged outdoor workers (construction, labouring etc) to go back to work as it’s a lot easier to maintain social distancing outside of an office. People moan saying that’s unfair. He’s encouraged people to not use public transport unless they need to. People moan saying that’s unfair.
I feel that if he’d quarantined everyone coming into the country people would have moaned saying it was against their basic human rights. Yet now he’s saying all new arrivals will be made to quarantine, the airlines are moaning saying it will destroy their industry.
I feel that one minute an ‘expert’ is coming out saying the lockdown is a complete waste of time and the next minute another ‘expert’ is coming out saying without a lockdown it would have resulted in five hundred thousand deaths. Prof Ferguson whose track record on virus numbers hopelessly out every time year after year-sack him.
I feel that people talk about setting up and supplying PPE, Track & Trace and swab tests for millions, like it’s as quick and easy as a stroll down the shops, without appreciating what a logistical nightmare it must actually be.
I feel that the unions and people will demand a safer environment (and so they should) and refuse to go back to work, but will also moan and cry about taxes going up as a result of the government having had to foot the bill for them being out of work for months.
I feel that people will happily point out we have one of the worst death counts in Europe but will fail to mention we are also one of the most densely populated. That people will happily pin every single death here on the government, as if this new horrific virus hasn’t caused hundreds of thousands of deaths worldwide.
I feel that people in this country JUST LOVE TO MOAN. And if Boris Johnson magicked a vaccine out of thin air tonight, people would start moaning about the weather saying that was his fault instead.
I feel that people forget the government are human beings. They are doing the best they can guided by the best scientific advice in this country. Better advice than Piers Morgan or some cheap journalist.
I feel the real villains are the immoral media who are full of lies, deceit and hidden agendas. The multi millionaires and rich companies who use the furlough scheme as a money saving exercise rather than leaving it for the companies that actually NEED IT.
The people that never pay a penny of tax or national insurance yet rinse the state for all it’s worth. Not forgetting the persons responsible for this deadly virus actually getting unleashed on mankind. They are the true villains, yet it’s all too easy to blame the government.
I feel that whatever he does he CANNOT WIN.
Before people start replying with stats and ‘how much worse it’s been handled over here’ – let me show you how easy it is to present stats to fit a certain narrative:
USA – tens of millions of people unemployed, no free healthcare, high number of deaths.
Italy – healthcare system completely overwhelmed, doctors forced to choose between who lives and dies. Similar number of deaths to the UK.
Spain – Population 30% smaller than the UK, with a death count 15% higher per million population, yet similar number of deaths.
France – Roughly same size population as the UK, but on a landmass nearly 3 times bigger, yet similar number of deaths.
But if you’re still hell bent on making comparisons then surely it makes sense to make them against countries on a similar footing to our own, not countries on the other side of the world who are operating under completely different circumstances!
With regards the media – how many times has a government adviser announced a new bit of guidance, and how many times do one of the newspapers miraculously find a random ‘expert’ who just so happens to have the complete opposite opinion… And the next time you watch one of the 5pm government briefings, listen closely to the questions the media ask and think to yourself how many of them are actually relevant / good solid questions and how many of them are designed with the sole purpose of tripping up those they are asking…
For me, I’m afraid large parts of the media have become glorified gossip outlets with a plethora of could, if’s and maybe’s, when what we as a nation need during this difficult time is factual real time information.
One final thought (if you’ve made it this far without falling asleep I salute you ????):
Every single death is a huge tragedy, and I don’t believe many people will be better off as a result of this virus. Our NHS, our care workers and our emergency services do an unbelievable job, they are hands down one of the best things about this country. Let’s not forget though, that the world is battling to hold this virus at bay, and these problems we face aren’t just happening in the UK, as our media will have you believe.
    *******

P.S No I am not a ‘bot’ (whatever that means), no I didn’t steal this from elsewhere and no I definitely am not writing on behalf of the conservative government. I have a wife, a dog, a job, I love playing & watching numerous sports, I am just a normal working class 30 yr old man who decided to write down my views.

Just wondering. Will the homophobic Libyan knife-murderer have been inspired by the BLM demo the same morning in the same Reading park? Perhaps we will never know. On the other hand – if he attended the demo, the connection might be more obvious. Fortunately our ever-curious investigative media will leave no stone unturned to get to the bottom of this one. Strangely, Googling the subject seems to lead only to far-left publications who already aver very strongly that there was ‘absolutely no connection between the demo and the murder’. Odd. How do they know that already?

Unfortunately I don’t think the judiciary has the grit to take on the death penalty. It’s a waste of time locking up Islamic terrorist – and killing them would save resources – I can’t see it causing more of them to pick up the knife or gun than the thousands on the lists ready to do it now …

VLAD – I think the ‘silent majority’ is a very, very large majority, mostly pissed off with all the anarchy.
Unfortunately, they tend to stay mostly silent. Intimidation works, apathy reigns. Most people have to work for a living and pay their taxes.
The noisy, vociferous BLM/Antifa lot rule the roost. Lotsa benefit recipients and ‘students’; there are benefit claimers really in need, who can’t work, and there are disciplined, moderate students, so I exclude these.
If any of the silent majority really came alive, and the police really implemented the law, and the government really acted like a large majority conservative government, BLM/Antifa would see their a…s.
        But alas.
But what is the ‘silent majority’? Stuttgart has a 44% ‘migrant’ population. That tells a tale. (See London, Dijon) Merkel has done Kalergi Coudenhove plan.

My experience of late is that the silent majority is very large…but as you say silent…however at some point this majority will / must rise to protect what they have worked for and what future generations deserve.
For many years I have said this country is the majority being ruled by the minority … but there will be a tipping point.

Unfortunately we don’t seem to have any public figures with balls ( of any colour) to fight back for the majority

even TalkRadio won’t allow 100% free speech
    Caller James from South Shields
“If the Conservatives have an 80 seat majority how come there are so many attacks on WHITE people and their culture”
presenter Mike is good at deflecting rather than helping such inconvenient callers, so says
“So what do you mean James ?”
James “Well the streets are full of hordes of black people demonstrating”

    Mike’s got him then
“no the demonstrators are mostly white
and the government don’t control the issues which people demonstrate about”
James is then flailing “there’s demos about a black guy 4,000 miles away , but when there is what the media call a terrorist attack with 2 white victims in reading …”
    then “grooming gang victims”
Mike says “You wanna educate yourself, byee”

The point is James screwed himself by seeing it at a black person white person issue.
He meant :”attacks on BRITISH people and their traditional culture”

The next caller from Neath wanted to talk about Welsh Assembly’s new minimum prices on beer
..He was rambling, but Mike helped him.

Ha it was an example of Groyping where some activists phone up to expose gatekeeping on nationalist issues, by phoning in and telling the producer their call is about a soft issue, but then changing slightly when they actually speak to the presenter
.. Then the presenter will talk all over them and try to cut them off
..They’re actually recording it and put their calls on social media.
This was up within 5 minutes.
Their Twitter account and video channel
There’s a Vice article that says grotping is new .. I’ve been seeing it on Youtube for at least a year.

      • StewGreen says:

Their groype last week was much more successful
they managed to get in the name of their political party and all of their political of the talking points
.. and the presenter and producer to seemed not to notice
cos they were so invested in the idea that they were talking to an oppress half-Jamaican called Nelson.

Checking on Twitter shows tweets in November 2017 talking about groyping going mainstream.
So Vice are really way behind.

The march through the institutions continues.

Today I received my copy of my professional institute’s Guardian Lite magazine, pushing ‘equality, diversity and inclusivity’, which it demonstrates by featuring a large picture of a woman in every one of its own adverts.

The message must be getting through to the membership, (avoid any new bridge, building or aircraft!), as they publish the annual letter complaining about the special, woman-only, award that they sponsor. This member thinks we need to change it to an award for the alphabet people!

Yep – it doesn’t matter what organisation – my wife in vet business – she has already penned a letter of complaint pointing out the fallacy in their argument about diversity – me, involved with 2 universities and the NHS have had all the obligatory emails of support for BLM s well as every medical journal flagellating themselves with white guilt

It is just ridiculous – if these organisations feel that they are so structurally racist / sexist in 2020 and need to prostrate themselves at the alter of the Bent Knee – why don’t they all do what Bent Knee Matters want – deconstruct themselves and let somebody of colour rebuild them….nah….never going to happen,

The leaders of these organisations are all just highly paid apple-polishers, bootlickers, brownnosers, fawners, flunkys , lickspittles, suck-ups, toadies – they don’t mean a word they say but in being such cowards give power to the bullies and weaken the power of free speech…

I don’t see it as the job of these institutes to attempt social engineering. The core value of engineers should be, well, good engineering.

Those members that try and keep local centres going seriously wonder if the institutes have a function any more, ‘involvement’ now, according to surveys, is limited to taking the magazine out of its wrapper and transferring it to the recycling bin. It is only the maintenance of professional registration that keeps members paying the subscription.

At work my ‘terms of reference’ were headed by the need to support ‘equality, diversity and inclusivity’, the ‘day job’ came last! My employer provided plenty of courses for ED&I but nothing on the technical side, that was DIY!

As I said, keep away from new bridges, buildings and aircraft!

I suppose that way back in the late seventies and eighties when I had become a sensible working adult with a family to support i, like so many others, became a supporter of Lady T, began to be very suspicious of the BBC ( only much later to become the BBCSM) and began to be concerned about migrants. I knew exactly why I voted Tory and why I had growing concerns about the BBC, but I couldn’t have said exactly why I felt this concern about mass immigration.
Now forty years later the reasons for my vague feelings of unease about so many migrants arriving in our country have crystallised. We have lost our cohesive sense of nationhood. The idiot in Reading can spout his Woke crap about rich diversity and never being divided but Britain is now a truly divided and unstable society which teeters on brink. Prince Charles has to spout similar Woke platitudes about the Windrush generation after all he needs this on his CV or the whole family firm may hit the buffers when his mum dies.
I was once a patriot and put the well being of the country second only to the well being of my family. I would have willingly answered the call to defend it. But no longer . I am concerned about the country only in so far as it affects the well being of my family. Infact the country has become a foreign land with a basket of alien cultures none of which I care for and some of which I strongly disapprove of. Im afraid that in my eyes this new 21 st century Britain isn’t worth fighting for.

Countries used to be like clubs, we all might have played different roles but we had common cause.

The globalists are turning countries into hotels, the state provides a service and the ‘guests’ pay the bill (or not). Then the bosses of the hotels (countries) meet up at Davos and brag about the number of ‘rooms’ they have. They don’t care about the ‘customers’ and the ‘customers’ don’t care about each other as effectively they are competing to each receive the best service.

There is a long booklet online – I think you’ll be stunned when you see it – is someone kind could put it up ….

I put this report up on this site once before Fedup. Although the report is not interested in straight white males, it doesn’t take much to work out that BBC on-screen representation of this group must be down to about 25% despite being approximately 40% of the population. BAME representation is actually double what it should be.

I can only assume by the time the BBC’s latest diversity drive is complete we won’t be seeing any straight white males at all.

Here is the report. See page 13 for on-screen representation.

      Click to access CDN_Diamond_25Feb.pdf

At the time I complained to the BBC and asked what they intended to do to improve straight white male representation. I got the usual guff in response –

“Thank you for contacting us. We appreciate your feedback.

We have an obligation to reflect the whole of UK society which includes the many accents and cultures that make up the population.

The BBC is committed to equal opportunities for all, irrespective of ethnic or national origins, gender, marital status, sexuality, disability, age or anything else. In selecting presenters, actors, and other contributors for our programmes (and staff to work at the BBC) we aim to employ those with the most suitable talents for the role.

Our aim is to serve the whole nation and reflect Britain’s diversity. We are therefore taking positive action to promote such equality of opportunity, with training and promotion procedures based on the requirements of the job. The BBC does not undertake so-called “positive discrimination” in this area because, as the name suggests, it is “discrimination” and is therefore illegal.”

The recent knifing in Reading and the damaging riots in London, Stuttgart etc. show what happens when you single out a group as “oppressed” and force ordinary people to apologise and pay homage. The MSM have been massively guilty of this including the BBC.

The net result is that the group having been told in no uncertain terms by the media and celebs etc. that they have had a rough deal assume that all rules are off and they are free to retaliate knowing that any opposition will be painted as Racist.

Well done all you horrible media goons!

I predict a lot more of this shit to follow now, I just hope it concentrates mostly on Metro-Lib areas like London and Reading as the mobs see these as soft targets rather than towns populated with normal, sane folk.

I have always had a suspicious feeling about why someone would want to join the Police.

I suspect that it has not a little to do with the feeling of power and authority that comes with the uniform, the ability to control and punish others as a right.

However we now seem to be seeing a change, whilst still wanting to hang on to the mantle of power the uniform gives them, they don’t appear to want to use it in an unbiased, fair non-political manner.

This change in attitude must be filtering down from the top.

At one time seeing police presence moving around your town or village was a sign of stability and order. Now it feels more like a worry that you might fall foul of them by offending their urban outlook rather than by committing any crime.
