I am wanting to compose a letter to my MP to encourage them to join in with the idea of defunding the bBC.
It needs to be a very good letter.
    It needs to be accurate.
The points need to be as indisputable as possible.
And it needs to be concise (one side of A4). Which is where the problem is. There is so much wrong with the bBC, but I want to concentrate on the bias.
Monkey Brains came up with a 50-point list on the other site, showing how the bias is created (by omission / photos / tone etc.)
I’d like to take some time over this and create a list of, say, ten examples of really, really bad bias (either as a single occaision or a cumulative feast from one source).
Would any of you kind peeps be willing to help, in terms of the list itself and/or the analysis before the letter gets put to bed, please?

Info – interesting idea but i think most/ all MPs would rather take money than go against it .

It needs to evidence breaches of the charter -or OFCOM findings of guilt – which are rare. Purely anecodal stuff – which is reported daily here wont be enough in my view .
Same with your MP – do they have a safe seat ? Are they new ?

Our MP is Mark Eastwood (https://www.markeastwood.org.uk/) . He’s new this time round. The seat has been swinging left and right. A while ago I met a lady in Dewsbury (which feels very different from where we are) who showed me photos of her dad (a ‘village elder’, if you know what I mean) with Ed Balls, Andy Burnham et al, who were all cosying up to him in the run up to the 2017 General Election. Basically we get the MP that the elders choose. And, rumour has it, there are very few TV licences in Dewsbury. Not sure how that would affect Mr Eastwood.

The most severe critic was Parliament itself: Following on from Jimmy Saville and the Demise of Mark Byford who was removed to pop up as Editor in Chief of the New York Times, a short time later, after this expose…..
The BBC’s appalling record is ‘golden awards’ to bum chums.
As the Public Accounts Committee struggled to get to the bottom of the utter mess… To the astonishment of MPs on the powerful PAC, BBC bosses repeatedly claimed the £949,000 paid to Mr Byford in a 2010 deal represented ‘value for money’..

Committee chairman Margaret Hodge said she was surprised that Mr Thompson decided the contractual sum of £500,000 was not enough for Mr Byford to stay ‘focused’ on his BBC job, and instead agreed a £949,000 severance payment. Mr Thompson and Lord Patten were called to appear with BBC HR director Lucy Adams, Marcus Agius, the former chairman of the BBC Executive Board Remuneration Committee, BBC director Nicholas Kroll, BBC Trustee Anthony Fry and former BBC Trust chairman Sir Michael Lyons.

I wonder if anyone is watching the rapidly increasing membership of parler.

On here we have often bemoaned the fact that every media outlet is now left or far left with papers such as the DM and DT going leftwards after being taken over.

What we’ve all been asking for is a paper or tv channel that is either centrist or even a little to the right.
In truth, I think we would be happy with an impartial paper/tv channel.
Something like Fox in the USA would be even better.

So, if there’s an entrepreneur out there, seeing the rapid rise of parler, why not be the one to start an impartial or centrist newspaper or tv channel. You’re almost guaranteed an audience of over 50% of the current viewing audiences having to watch sky and bbbc etc.
There’s a huge gap in the marketplace and a huge audience waiting.

Agree completely. Fox news style channel for the UK would be a good move. I guess no-one has done it as they fear advertisers will run away. If the advertisers are boycotting Twitter goodness knows what they would think of something less liberal/left. Speaking of advertising though, none of the advertisers seem to be aiming their products at me at the moment, only at black people and black families.
Oddly I am enjoying some of the stuff on YouTube from sky Australia. It seems to have a much more sensible ( ie right leaning) approach that sky UK. Not sure why.

Is it me ???? But the last thing I want to do is ‘go away on holiday’ abroad !!!!

Just swap the word Corona19 for Smallpox. No vaccine available, killing randomly, highly contagious and a nasty way of dying, and every country in the world is still delivering up new cases and deaths.

Yet the great British public still want to play Russian Roulette with their lives and take the risk. Suppose it WAS Smallpox, would the reaction be any different ? maybe. But because we mention Covid19 as though its a minor inconvenience to holidaying, then its worth the gamble.

Currently what is there abroad to go for ? apart from cheap booze. Lots of distancing at tourist attractions, airports will be even worst places of hell, and many places and facilities still closed, plus lack of Covid insurance ! Not forgetting 2 weeks worth of face masks and gloves.

I love cruising for my holidays, but I wont go near a boat until late next year or possibly 2022. Toooooo risky.

    Asylum seeker story time

Teenager jailed for two years after being found with cocaine in Hersham (September 2018)

A false Portuguese driving licence was also found at Dorjan Cera’s house during a police search

    https://www.getsurrey.co.uk/news/surrey-news/teenager-jailed-two-years-after-15123392

(The) 18-year-old has been jailed for two years after he was caught with 26 wraps of cocaine in Hersham .

When he was stopped by police on June 28 this year, Dorjan Cera showed police officers a photograph of a Lithuanian driving licence in another name which he had used to hire the car he was driving.

The court heard that Cera, of Princes Park Close in Hayes, was found with 26 wraps of cocaine, each with half a gram of the drug.

Mr Ingle suggested Recorder Whitehouse should suspend his client’s sentence because Cera, who arrived in the UK from Albania when he was 16, is seeking asylum and a custodial sentence could potentially jeopardise this.

However, Cera was sentenced to the following after pleading guilty to all counts at an earlier hearing on June 28:
Two years in a young offenders institution for possession of class A with intent to supply
Three months concurrent for possession of a false identity document
Three months concurrent for possession of an identity document with improper intent.

    Deported?

    Another story, same man?

A man has admitted killing a bus driver and injuring seven other people in a crash last Halloween in Orpington, south east London.

Kenneth Matcham, 60, died on Sevenoaks Road after Dorjan Cera’s car collided with two single-decker buses on 31 October.

Cera, 20, pleaded guilty at the Old Bailey on Friday to causing Mr Matcham’s death by dangerous driving.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-53195828

Cera, of Hillingdon, also admitted seven further counts of causing injury by dangerous driving, being unlicensed and uninsured and possession of an identity document with improper intent.

    • Van Helsing says:

      AsISeeIt,

I’d wager that it’s the same fellow.

The Dorjan Cera convicted in the drugs case was 18 in 2018, and the Dorjan Cera who pled guilty to death by dangerous driving a few days ago is reported to be 20.

In 2018, Cera was reportedly living in Hayes; in 2020, he was said to live in Hillingdon, i.e. quite literally next door to Hayes.

IF it’s the same man then it gives rise to a bigger issue: why wasn’t he deported in 2018 following the imposition of a two year sentence for a serious offence under the Misuse of Drugs Act?

Again, if we’re dealing with the same Dorjan Cera, the failure to deport him ended up having fatal consequences for the chap killed last Halloween – the accident could not have happened if Cera had been deported.

Don’t you just want to weep, vomit and laugh at the same time ? Last year we get eco warriors blocking the streets of London about climate change, kids off school pontificating that we’re wrecking their future with pollution and plastic, Sky’s Ocean Rescue, and Millennials protesting about everything.

Fast forward 12 months, and these same twats party in the streets, lie bloated on the beaches, and then celebrate the achievement of a football club. And the common denominator in all this ? the amount of litter and sh…..t left by them. Good thing there wasn’t Glastonbury otherwise the amount would be tripled.

Its actually a national outrage that this should be allowed to happen. No doubt a lot of them have sandal wearing parents who took part in the eco protests. Along with everything else that this country has become, we are no better than the sh..t tips of India and China.

A Polish family bought a house across the road from us about 3 years ago. I don’t know their surname or the parents Christian names.

They don’t associate with any of their neighbours, have never spoken to either me or my wife, and although their children initially played with mine and other local kids they now only play with other Poles. During “lockdown” the childminder mum has continued as normal as cars constantly come and go, parking wherever they like, and the mechanic father has apparently worked from home unhindered, customers visiting everyday, met with the obligatory handshake and offer of a cigarette.

The family have been here for 10 years, they speak only in Polish and have not seemingly made any effort to integrate, contribute nothing to the wider local community and work in cash heavy/tax light jobs.( I do not know of any Polish plumbers or builders. Labourers perhaps but not skilled builders.)

They seem arrogant and sullen, and any attempt at conversation is met with a blank stare or a comment in Polish to a colleague. It may be that they are simply an unpleasant or odd family. Perhaps I’m being unfair, maybe they just like to keep themselves to themselves, but their behaviour amongst their peers and an apparently large social group doesn’t suggest that.

I’ve been at pains to point out to my teenagers that your impression of one family shouldn’t influence your view of another culture or nationality as a whole but I don’t think they’re convinced. Many others remain equally sceptical in a small town with a large Eastern European minority.

The Polish in our town have their own shops, even though the local supermarkets have Polish aisles, where they can buy their Polish vodka and smokes, which they appear to buy a lot of. They do not drink in pubs. They have their own service at the local chapel and the children can do exams in Polish at the local Catholic secondary school. They also seem to have their own brothels, drug dealers, petty thiefs, shoplifters, wifebeaters, sex offenders, stabbers, uninsured drinkdrivers, tax dodgers, smugglers and sheep stealers. According to the local papers that is. In fact, any crime that 10 years ago was rare now seems commonplace, the perpetrators more often than not Polish. We had and have enough wrong’uns of our own, did we really need to import more?

It’s just I’m not really sure what wasn’t being done before we had the Poles, and other Eastern Europeans (don’t start me on the Roma), to do it.

Food processors and landlords/ rental agencies seem to be the only ones who have gained any real benefit. There do however seem to be more ex-rental properties for sale locally, a sign of the decimation of our manufacturing industry and subsequent job losses, many of the now unemployed agency-working Polish returning home?

I try to take every man as I find him but I won’t be sorry to see many Poles leave, their successful integration and overall contribution to British society has been overplayed and is not in my experience at all positive.

I have no living relatives but I suspect that if any local family with elderly parents/grandparents who receive a visit from the woman of the Lithuanian household, called a, “Carer”, I would demand her sacking for violating basic principles of the Lockdown. She’s probably a carrier of the chinese virus. I won’t go into benefit fraud. Its too early in the morning to wind myself up.

Nauseating comment by match commentator Steve Wilson on the Norwich v Manchester United FA Cup tie, when he said that “eventually games will not have the taking of the knee at kick-off, but personally I will miss it, such a powerful statement blah, blah, blah”.
What absolute bollox, it is so contrived it’s not true. What would be a powerful statement is if one of the players refused to take part in the fiasco, although I wouldn’t give much for his future career as a pro footballer.

I think there is a kind of virtue signalling race amongst the sports commentators to mention the Marxist campaign as often as they can . My prize goes to some flat voiced girl on the BBC who feeds the message through the whole 100 minutes .

At least we know when a game is due to start at 3pm you need not bother until 3.03pm whilst they do their tedious meaningless false rituals .

How ironic that the BBC’s former much stated great hope for the Premier League was for a player to be brave enough to go against the grain, be true to his self, to step out of line, risking the disapproval of his fellow players and to come out – I mean in the sense of admitting to his homosexuality.

So, according to the new laws, we can all do a bit more shopping as of next Saturday. Great!
I desperately need a haircut and I could commit grievous bodily harm to get a pint. But what a bloomin’ palaver it’s all going to be.

To get my barnet seen to I’ll have to spend more time queuing than I will be sitting in the barber’s chair. In a little establishment like the one I use “social distancing” will be impossible. My barber will, no doubt, be wearing a face mask and possibly gloves. How on Earth are we expected to enjoy our usual banter about the plight of Fulham FC? And these days if he gives me a wink and asks, “Anything for the weekend?” He’ll probably be trying to flog me some hand gel…

And in the pub it’s going to be even worse. Most bars are taking customer bookings. I gather you could phone on a Wednesday afternoon and book a table in your local for, perhaps, Saturday evening. It’s not exactly spontaneous, is it?
If you can get in you will be greeted by someone “masked up” instructing you where to walk, where to sit and how long you can stay. Great fun, I can hardly bleedin’ wait…

The high street has been in trouble for decades. Our over reaction to this bloody Covid has finished it off.
I don’t particularly want to use Amazon, but I really don’t fancy standing in a queue of masked and hysterical hypochondriacs while I’m only trying to purchase a pair of socks.

The government, the media, indeed the entire establishment, have turned the Covid health crisis into an economic and cultural catastrophe.

A quick update on Sainsburys. Still the delusions of grandeur – “we’re feeding the nation” – Sorry, you’re just one of several large grocers, not bloody Oxfam. I note the large number of ‘colleagues’ organising the checkout queuing and it occurs to me that were these people redeployed to the spare checkouts the queues would disappear.

How long can this go on? For how long can corporations in the customer service business treat their paying customers like potential Plague Marys? Anyone with a memory of more than a decade would notice that these businesses appear to think and act as if they had been nationalised.

Is this the next stage of crony capitalism. Over-priced rubbish products. Nationalised industry levels of customer service. Over manning and petty regulation. Nationalised industry sloganeering.

At the time of the Royal Wedding, William and Kate, Sainsbury’s were selling commemorative and celebratory items and were encouraging street parties. Bunting was for sale.

Our local Sainsbury’s, here in Northern Ireland, also sold it. There was a strong local market. It’s a predominantly Protestant and Unionist town, safe to say, pro-monarchy.

It was sold until an employee with Irish Nationalist sympathies complained about this blatant disregard of and affront to their human rights and “parity of esteem” , of how much they were offended and hurt by the sale of such anti-Irish and pro-Royalist regalia in their shared space and place of work and the celebratory items were quickly withdrawn from sale.

Now I’m not a particular fan of most of the current Royal family
but if Sainsbury’s are willing to enable and appease such blatant bigotry and agitating in pursuit of a few pennies more, but can seemingly afford to alienate and insult the majority of their core customers, then they obviously don’t need any contribution from me or my family.

I haven’t been in it since, never will be, and know many more like me.

  32. Doublethinker says:

I have been expecting this for the past few weeks, the ECB, England and Wales Cricket Board, have decided to take action to ensure that the number of BAMEs playing the game is increased. They claim that too few BAMEs play cricket at the elite level or areinvolved in administration of the game in proportion to their make up of the general population. So in effect we are going to get a South African type quota system when England test sides have to have a prescribed number of non white players. This may even be the case for county teams.
This quota will in due course spread throughout all elite sport. The English Football team is of course packed with BAMEs , and rugby has its fair share. Indeed if this quota system worked fairly the number of white players in the football team should be significantly increased! Imagine the furore if someone proposed that. Other team sports will soon be forced down this path and it will spread further into our daily lives as we are forced to accept the consequences of the immigration that was imposed on us.
Already we have positive discrimination in the likes of the BBC, local councils and the rest of the public sector. It will soon be forced upon the private sector . Remember that when positive discrimination is in operation there are winners and losers. Young white boys already do very poorly at school if they are now to be discriminated against in the job market their chances of a decent life are reduced even more. And all because some politicians , Blair et alin particular, decided mass immigration would be a good way of destroying the British state. It’s destroying the lives of the indigenous population too, but they probably see that as acceptable collateral damage.

Kind of see the logic there, almost a socialist vibe to it? possible the ‘Indians’ didn’t quite see it like that.

Reduced to watching a mind numbing film this morning. On Sky News the kids have their own show about mental health – switch off. On BBC News its half an hour of Greta Thunberg – switch off.

On BBC1 its the puerile Morning Live Show – dear God how is this stuff allowed on air ??? 2 plonkers on the sofa continually laughing as they ask 2 video link plonkers childish questions. The first one being the question of what colour is Jesus. A history teach of Asian heritage thought it was ‘excellent’ that this conversation had started, “because as a History teacher I want historical fact”. WELL ! I almost choked on my tea ! I thought, that’s a bit rich when most of the dramatisations of history show people of colour in clearly white roles by scriptwriters. Um Dev Patel was David Copperfield ? she clearly thought that was ok. The film Mary Queen of Scots had more black Barons depicted that it was laughable.

    I switched off.
