“ AN award-winning director has launched a film project to connect people amid the international wave of Black Lives Matter protests.
Hay-on-Wye based Tamara Gordon has made a series of three short films and is now asking members of the public to record their own versions and share the results on social media.
The 51-year-old, who has previously worked with the BBC, Channel 4 and United Nations, said: “It’s important for people to connect beyond their differences at this moment in time.”
Local news the one local actress is on TV tonight
“I’m mixed race and you see so FEW mixed race families on TV”
… total BS real world 14% non white
TV world 50% non-white
She continued “BLM is so important”
I bet people in London see 2 people from their street on TV every week.
In our region of 320K people only that actress and Guy Martin are on TV
Otherwise we never hear a local accent on TV.
Now imagine Jon sailing across in his Fiat 500, to Bolero.

“I’d like to inspire young black skaters.” ⛸️
Nine-year-old Kaitlyn Saunders wanted to contribute after hearing about protests in the US, so she did what she knows best and skated across the Black Lives Matter Plaza outside the White House.
“Pregnant woman ‘killed by ex in cowardly attack'” the beeb tells us, but forgets to post a picture of the attacker.
This is strange for 2 reasons. First the beeb are very keen to plaster their webshite with black faces these days, and secondly the report is about HIM, his trial, so his picture would seem at least as relevant as hers.
This BBC Sport documentary features Tommie Smith, the man responsible for the most famous anti-racism protest in the history of sport, the Black Power salute on the podium at the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City.
The US president is said to have told Mrs May she was "weak" and "lacked courage" during her tenure, while allegedly telling German Chancellor Angela Merkel she was "stupid" https://t.co/Z55EB62rkZ
Can you say any of the Tory party are any different?
Ever since the election of Boris the Bottler, I’ve been saying they are cowardly useless and incompetent.
Boris’s cowardice is now widely recognised and even with a stonking great majority his government is described as ‘weak’.
His party is now official recognised as ‘left wing’, and if it wasn’t for Dominic Cummings I’m sure we’d see even worse from a PM who is every bit as appalling as Theresa May ever was.
I have always been led to understand that the US economy runs ‘lean and mean’ meaning that they carry no dead weight employees in businesses and it is far easier to let people go or fire them than compared to the UK and western Europe. I have also been always led to understand that the US economy is far more parochial and local than the UK and western Europe. Well, it is a big country and parts of it see populations come and go. Farming in the Mid-West would be a prime example along with gold and silver mining.
I was a little surprised to read the BBC reported comments of a senior White House economic advisor here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-53224752. It could of course be that the BBC are selectively reporting or misreporting Tomas J Philipson’s words.
On the other hand, you only need to get two economists together to have at least a four-way argument and three economists in a room and the opinions will be well into double figures.
The BBC’s anonymous author must also know that the vast number of jobs in any economy will be low paid and that the big bucks only get paid to a few people at the top. Which makes the author’s reporting of Dr Philipson’s exclusive BBC interview rather strange. In addition, just as the lower paid workers can be the first to be laid off when recession (or Pandemic) hit, they can also be the first to be hired when recovery comes.
In addition, an economist of Dr Philipson’s standing ought to know that the only way you can create more pay for the lowest paid workers is to have greater profitability for a business, less low paid workers working for a business, greater efficiency for a business or expanding the business size while maintaining the same work-force, which is effectively the same thing.
The US business tradition, except in declining industries, is to do all of those things. Which makes Dr Philipson’s reported comments all the more strange. Not ones I would agree with.
I must be an economist. Is my Doctorate still stuck in the post?
Or could it be the BBC wish to encourage the Democratic Party (you know that as an overseas broadcaster, BBC, you are not meant to interfere in the US Presidential Election) and just wish to create further doubts about President Trump’s competency?
The Wiki page for Dr Philipson is interesting when read alongside the BBC article. Usual Wiki disclaimers – may be biased, may be inaccurate, may be incomplete, may be spot on.
Up2 – no they are just straight forward enemies . And – as the Mail online bravely reports today – are buying influence big style with the retired politicians who infest certain post clubs in bayswater .
I got a laugh out of BBC radio 4 – not listening to it – obviously -but from the listings .
File on 4 is doing an ‘ investigation ‘ into coloured people in the police – thats where i got the laugh – dont they do documentaries about that all the time ?
Apparently there still isnt enough . Is there a need for faster runners ? Particularly backwards as per central London ?
At least we know that police chiefs in the future will all be black – tokenism at its infantile worst .
Can anyone help ? Guido reports one Claudia Webbe – a diverse MP for Leicester who has been forced into thr lime light by her constituents enthusiam for the chinese virus .
Apparently she is thick enough to be top candidate for the ‘ dawn butler award’ who in turn got it from thr legendary Diane Abbot …
Ms webbe apparently let herself down on both Five live and The Vine show …. anyone know why ?
It seems that social media attacks on the right and centre of politics is accelerating. Latest victim is Stefan Molyneux who has been removed from You Tube for persistent hurty hate .
I think this is serious and indicates a dramatic attack on commentators who endorse conservative values.
I watch Molyneus frequently and whilst he goes on a bit, his stuff does not fall anyway near hate speech.
At this rate we might be next, and don’t expect the cowardly Tory government to step in.
Very disappointing Brighton v Man U game – the shirts have name of the player on the back – but they still have western numbers . I reckon they should use Roman numerals in solidarity with the slaves . Don’t think much of the Man Utd IX…

Throughout the UK Lockdown the BBC have been wringing thier hands over the mental health of the UK population especially the young and have been trying to create a major epidemic of poor mental health for the UK. Which makes this article surprising: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/disability-53092833 . Paragraph eight is rather interesting.
I think we can guarantee that a career of leeching off the public purse by pursuing legal aid cases against the state that feeds her awaits this particular specimen.
