Just as the BBC committed itself 100% to the EU and to Climate Alarmism and would admit no alternative (the BBC’s castles in Spain, one could say), so it is now wedded firmly to lockdown as the only possible response to the virus scare.
Here we have another narrative reinforcing report. Telling us little apart from the fact the BBC loves lockdown.
‘Coronavirus: Spanish study casts doubt on herd immunity feasibility’
One might caution the BBC to be a little careful with this anti-herd immunity line since it tends to undermine the argument for vaccination schemes in general. Not a good look for the national broadcaster. But I guess that’s the problem with propaganda – sometimes you have to deliver two contradictory messages.
So, what’s up with Spain, pray tell?
‘The prevalence of Covid-19 antibodies was below 3% in coastal regions, but higher in areas of Spain with widespread outbreaks’
No shit Sherlock, or excuse my Spanish…
A dearth of excrement, Mr Holmes
I’m afraid there’ll be no quicky no fault divorce between the BBC and lockdown. They’re locked in for the duration.
There have been studies of a similar kind in China and the US and “the key finding from these representative cohorts is that most of the population appears to have remained unexposed” to the coronavirus, “even in areas with widespread virus circulation,” the Lancet article said.
Does that make any sense at all? Does it mean that if in an area where there are lots of case you ‘lockdown’ then those under house-arrest don’t encounter the virus? Pretty obvious, I would have thought.
Some virologists say that we are exposed to viruses all the time and we develop resistance to them or we die. Locking people up stops them being exposed to any viruses so when they do get let out they have no immunity to anything so everyone dies.
Wot a film that’s gonna make “the simpleton and the schemer “ …. Harry needs to be selective about history – and definitely avoid the family tiff which started the First World War and the various slaughter ever since – stick with the Windsor surname Harry …..
Surely not the same Commonwealth which has simpered and squirmed all over him and his family for so long.
Her Maj and Prince Phil always understood the politics of keeping all these countries in the public eye, nurturing them, helping them etc, and this little squirt’s other half decides it’s all rot!
The bloody Commonwealth paid for your sodding wedding for a start, you stupid bint!
A high tide might raise all ships but a tidal wave sinks them. A low tide reveals the rocks.
A thought: We had a friend who believed she was a daughter of an Irish immigrant family. On her wedding day the man who she knew as her father said that as he was ‘giving her away’ to another man now was the time to tell her that she had been adopted as a baby. Would that have abruptly changed her victim/oppressor state?
We can’t really inherit the guilt or pain of ancestors, we might not even know who our ancestors were.
The ‘anti-racists’ used to tell us that children didn’t see ‘race’, they learn it from adults. Now they are telling us that racism is an intrinisic characteristic of ‘white’ children.
More footage of the White House press briefings – the presidents spokes lady fired off a broadside at the end – after getting umpteen questions about the confederate flag by remarking how she got no questions about the increasing numbers of people of various colours and ages – being killed in American cities as a result of the current Marxist movement .
Seemed to me that the obsession was with the ‘press pack’ determined to get a presidential condemnation of the Confederate flag (and lose all the Southern states?).
An interesting piece in its implication that the BBC is intending to pull out of Manchester Media City.
No surprise for many, as the BBC was having to ferry metropolitan elites from their leftist enclaves in Hampstead and Islington to Manchester and back in Taxis!
Not to mention certain sports commentators who grew up in the North but now can’t stand to actually be there.
The BBC was forced by government to regionalise its output because of its Londoncentric bias, and as might be expected, the BBC rented some fancy offices, but refused point blank to buy into the idea.
It’s no surprise now to find the luvvies attempting to pull back to London with the cowardly useless incompetent Tories too scared of their own shadow to say boo to the BBC over this.
My mum was initially in a £4K a month care home owned by the local GP whose surgery oversaw its medical attention.
It was operated on profit.
She was moved once we appreciated that.

I’m afraid boris should stay quiet about the NHS PHE hospital trust GP government performance in relation to the number dead and dying in care homes as a result of avoidable failures .
But as some on this site sometimes say ‘they’ve had their time ‘ – which I find both harsh and dismissive .
If the numbers are ever ( or can ) be done properly I fear the body count for Chinese virus related death and infection is going to be very high for the nations’ care homes .
I’ve visited various care homes in my area and I wouldn’t put my dog in them – even though they wanted a thousand a week .
I also don’t like the corruption of GPs owning care homes – what a good way of ensuring ‘turnover ‘ shipman would be proud ….
I know you love Boris and the Tories Fed, but this is classic cowardly behaviour, when the bully who is always a coward at heart attacks someone who he believes can’t fight back in the attempt to shift blame away from himself.
Thoughtful – you defame me ???? I have to be pragmatic . They are the best of a worst job . I know you always prefix your description of them. .None of them is far enough to the Right or England centric for me …
As for the care homes – the health secretary said the government had put their arms around them – a lie – and now Johnson is dumb enough to come out with something as plain stupid as that .
His government could redeem itself by reforming and improving ‘old age care’ as per the manifesto promise and not kick the subject down the road until the next election .
AH, Woudn’t want to defame you Fed so my apologies.
I’m not sure now that they are the ‘best’, or indeed any tangible difference than the other lot. As you probably know they have been reclassified as a Left Wing party instead of centre Right which used to be the case.
So far as I can see now there is no difference between Labour and Blue Labour and we are back to single party politics of the uniparty once again.
I rather think, Thoughtful, that no-one in the care professions feels at all bullied by the government – after all, they can always take to the air on the BBC (always an open door for anyone who wants to complain about the current government and its policies), or the UK MSM, dutifully and gleefully reported by the BBC who then take to the airwaves armed with a quote from someone in the papers. No hard questions, no rebuttals to any claims they make, no indication of their political positions or stances on anything, no incisive analysis of what went on, or did not, in the health and care services systems – local authority or private.
Boris should adopt the Ed Bede approach to many things.
He’s an incompetent idiot, but in a world of #politicsoftheleastbad he is the elected PM and trying to cope with ceaseless BBC assault on anything.
Mum passed before all this. The fight I had with the NHS and social care to even get advice was a nightmare. I once had to call an ambulance to hospitalise her from our home care as a series of locums of ineptitude could not see we could not provide what she needed.
The care how in question here was a country mansion run like a hotel, supposedly specialising in dementia.
They allowed her to develop bed sores and when we discovered this we went ballistic and involved the lot… my GP, NHS, CQC, LGO, PHSO, MP…
All tutted and supported their man the doctor who signed the Hippocratic Oath and owned a profit centre.
Guest – i reckon i went through similar -.i lost count of the number of battles i had with all branches of the ‘ caring professions’ and learnt a lot about these ‘ angels’ as a result .
Personally I think cameras should be installed in all the rooms of residents in Care Homes. Most carers are brilliant at their jobs with the limited tools available, but there are also a great many who do the job because they cant get employment anywhere else, hence the lack of skills and empathy and the low rate of pay. If I hadn’t visited my Dad several times a week (and not at the same time) in his Home, then I would not have been reassured at his care, as the carers never knew when I was going to walk in. Other poor souls in the Home rarely received visitors so their treatment was less than perfect sadly.
So, if you have relatives who need Care Home residency then please call in regularly to check on them.
Bris i would echo that. I found that visiting care homes is an ‘ art’ – the need to engage the staff and ‘ make nice ‘ but enduring they know youre not missing the good / bad .
I , too , felt for those there alone …
I’m just a little bit puzzled. Three pubs closed down again yesterday after opening on Saturday – one, after some guy phoned, presumably yesterday, to say he had tested positive for Voronavirus.
I find the timeline strange. The pub opens Saturday. THe guy phones Monday to say he has the virus. Loads of complaints flying around that we’re lucky to get test results back after 48 hours, let alone 24 hours. The chances of this guy geting tested on Sunday and getting a positive result yesterday seem to me to be slim to none. Therefore, it would appear that this guy already knew he was waiting for a test result when he went to the pub on Saturday.
Three key options – he was part of some random testing process (but I thought we weren’t doing these), he was part of some regular testing regime because he is involved in the health sector Coronovirus risk group, or that he had had a test before Saturday because he was already showing symptoms.
OPtion 1 looks unlikely, option 2 means that he should have known he was at risk, and told people, and should have avoided risk areas for catching coronnavirus (like puibs at this stage) anyway, and option 3 means that he couldn’t give a toss.
Any other optios – but shouldn’t we be told how this came about ?
The pubs things is BS
“If someone tests positive and yesterday then went to Asda then does that supermarket have to close then ?”
In Batley – a customer had phoned to say they had tested positive for coronavirus. (staff tested negative …hmm as if the incubation period has been enough)
Alverstoke village, said his team were awaiting test results after someone in a member of staff’s “family bubble” tested positive.
What’s the risk to other customers
If the guy just sat outside pretty much zero
Only if he was inside for a long time, coughed over someone or used the toilet cubicle could other customers have got a viral load
Pug – I’m not directly affected by the care home’ issue ‘ . I’m not ‘old ‘ for the time being – but I think the measure of the morality of a country is the way it treats the elderly . From what I’ve seen it is not good and there can be improvement if the Will is there , but it isn’t .
Incidentally I lost a life long friend in a care home recently who died through age . Sadly the care Home locked down early and was ruthless about hygiene control- but obviously there could be no visiting or saying goodbye .
I only saw the BBC News channel once yesterday and once this morning and both times they had so-called comedian Shazia Mirza.
The clip they showed of Shazia doing her “comedy” was her lecturing her audience on how to say her name and saying all the different ways [implying white gammons] have tried to say it. In the studio interview she said you start of with an audience of 50 and now she is up to 2500. Imagine if she could lecture much bigger audiences if the theatres can all stay open!
I used to go to comedy clubs a lot when I was younger but haven’t bothered for years now as every comedy routine is either a) calling a right wing/Tory/Trump a gammon/racist/swear word, or b) banging on about their disability or c) banging on about racism. I can save my money by watching the BBC instead.
4. ‘My 30-year struggle with racism in the Metropolitan police’
….it it just goes on and on. It just doesn’t stop. Why won’t it stop?
This is just today!
The network is simply obsessed with identity and race. Everything is filtered through this lens.
—
Let’s take 2 of the headlines above and spin them a little to shine a light on the moronic idiocy of this ‘line of journalism’.
1. “Racism and statues: How the toxic legacy of empire still affects us.” – Today we talk about the legacy of the Roman Empire and how it’s affected the entire Western world. How slavery from Britain funded its establishment. How Britons were oppressed and a wall was built to divide us? We focus in on the Iceni where systematic rape and genocide wiped out an entire culture that still reverberates today.
3. “The town divided by Black Lives Matter” – Today we talk to Kevin who refused to take the knee as a conscientious objector. His decision has not only divided his family but his entire community.
——-
I mean it’s just ludicrous, none of this is bloody news. The BBC is just a troll machine funded by Brits to tell Brits how awful we are to people or generational descendants of people who came here in the last 50 years or so.
Where is the broadcast counterbalance to this bias headwind?
Defund it now.
‘Ludicrous’ is the operative word, and begs the question of why any half-competent government would allow it to continue. Fortunately it has reached the point where most of their so-called adult programmes (particularly the ‘news’) are now shunned by the majority, except for the feeble minded.
However, the danger is in allowing public funding to continue for the bBC’s propagandising of children and very young people. Their current output aimed at these age groups, in all its forms, should be banned in schools immediately pending independent ‘scrutiny’ (although I’m not sure who could do this).
BBC Today programme gave airtime to some female British athlete, whose Portuguese boyfriend’s car was stopped and searched a couple of days ago.Her interpretation, black person driving big black Merc gets stopped in an area of known high risk for gangs, weapons, drugs etc. – and it’s a clear case of racism.
But…. the windows of the Merc were, apparently ‘blacked out’ – so how was anybody supposed to know that the car was being driven by a black guy ? The police say the car was spotted driving erratically, and on the wrong side of the road (Portuguese driver ?), so, again, if the police are following a car with blacked-out windows, how the hell are they supposed to know the colour of the driver – but when the police signal a stop – said driver speeds off…. Now, just how suspicious is that ? When asked to exit the car by uniformed officers, both occupants resist…… now, just how suspicious is that ? And don’t try to kid me that criminals don’t carry women and children in their cars to look innocent.
Filming was being done by the rear seat passenger, i.e. the female athlete, who clearly wasn’t too bothered about the baby in the car at that point, which, in any case, should have been secured in the car in a seat or other protective equipment.
Why is all of this not relevant, and it’s just ‘racism’ ? Never mind that the bodycam videos have been assessed and the police appear to have done nothing wrong at all, in the circumstances they faced.
“I am black, and anything you do which I don’t like, means you are, by definition, racist”, seems to be the mantra these days.
“BLM, you are going to have a lot to answer for”
The movement appears to have been hikacked by those who were gluing themselves to public transport not so long ago. And hilariously being helped off the train after sitting on the wrong bit. I don’t think the very vocal mainly far left white women have many answers. They’ll soon be whitesplaining themselves off to the next destructive marxist front cause and black people will be no further forward than when all this started. In fact if the bbc are allowed to continue setting race relations back they’ll be worse off.
So driving on the wrong side of the road is perfectly acceptable and the perpetrator doesn’t need to be reprimanded?
“An American diplomat’s wife, who left the United Kingdom after becoming a suspect in a fatal traffic collision, was driving on the wrong side of the road at the time of the crash, according to the police. The driver – a 42-year-old American woman named as Anne Sacoolas – left the country shortly afterwards despite facing possible charges of causing death by dangerous driving.
Richard – as i wrote here recently the BBCMSM is desperate for a coloured’ victim ‘ so for the moment she ll have to do until a dead one comes along – preferaby in police custody as an ideal vehicle to focus the anti white hate being thrown around –
– all those dead black americans dont quite do the job …
Oh note in the news-soap-opera
there is always BAME hero/victim-of-the-day ..subject to operation banging on
and white-bad-man of the day ..usually Trump
but BAME bad-man of the day eg the Reading or Glasgow attacker
are played down and not subject to operation banging on
Stew – if the BBC can’t find a victim today – they’ll find one tomorrow – it’s a testimonial to the UK that they haven’t found one already – after all – it is a racist country after all ..
Funny – once you realise what the BBC is now you can read it like a book …. it’s methods do use the authoritarian – fascist type propaganda where the message is infused into every aspect of life from CBBC upward …
TOADY Watch #1 – Does Mishal have a Buy to Let Property Portfolio?
My reason for asking is that she seemed very keen, in the 8.10 a.m. prime slot interview, to ask Philip Hammond, a former Chancellor of the Exchequer, about the possible relaxation of the Stamp Duty rules by the current Chancellor, Rishi Sunak.
If she does have a BTL portfolio, Mishal obviously leaves messy tax matters to the accountant. Philip Hammond ‘misspoke’ when asked about a cut in the VAT rate. He said that a VAT cut only provides a short, instant boost (sorry, cannot remember exact words used) and doesn’t provide a long term stimulus to the economy. Ooooops!
Either the former Chancellor does not understand different taxations within the wider field of economics – which he should do and I think he probably does – or he misspoke. I think the latter applies. Your VAT rate either permanently suppresses demand or encourages spending. All taxes, other than Income Tax (and its corporate equivalent), personal National Insurance (to an extent) and Inheritance Tax, suppress demand. That is what taxes do.
Had it been any current Cabinet Minister, I’m sure Mishal (or Nick) would have wanted to point out how wrong they were in saying that. The BBC would have then played the same audio clip over and over during every News and News Bulletin for at least twenty-four hours or more.
The BBC were very quick to disappear the NASCAR Noose Truth from their web-site. 24 hours or less. The BBC seem very keen to keep a certain Brexiteer’s head in the noose while he downs a pint. Still there after 48 hours. To add insult to injury, the BBC are now exploiting Bubba Wallace – on the same Home Page – in order to attack President Trump.
Now, BBC, what’s that you said about foreigners interfering in other countries’ Elections?
My mother-in-law, sadly no longer with us, spent some of her time in a care home in West London and some in a care home in Buckinghamshire. The difference between the two homes was stark. Boris is absolutely right to draw attention to poor care homes as many deaths in these places were due to bad practice and not lack of any PPE. The BBC, with all its hidden camera documentaries in such places, have seen for themselves how poor some of these homes are but choose, in their biased fashion, to knock Boris instead. He hasn’t come across this information by chance or made it up. He has been informed by a large team of experts who have seen the disparities between care homes for themselves. There is nothing contentious in what he said.
You are quite right, upandatem, a lot of ‘handling’ the Covid-19 virus (and its ‘flu’ equivalents) things-to-do are pure commonsense.
I’m involved with others in a voluntary cleaning job in the community for some premises. When the virus reached the UK and had established a foothold but before the lockdown (during which the premises would be no longer used) was announced, certain surfaces that would not normally be cleaned but that people might touch within the premises, were cleaned with a mix of water, soap, disinfectant and a little bleach. This was done purely on a personal initiative basis in mid-March.
I’m sure a similar initiative for attention to detail would have helped reduce deaths in Care Homes.
TOADY Watch #2 – Has Hammond Haccepted the Hinevitable?
I was interested to hear if during Mishal’s interview with Philip Hammond, former (very anti-Brexit) Chancellor of the Exchequer, whether the ‘B’ word would surface and whether Mishal might ask about it. It didn’t really arise, except in an oblique way in a question about Huawei and 5G telecomms.
It appears that Philip Hammond has now accepted that Brexit will now happen fully and completely now that he and his Bank of England buddy, Mark Carney, are no longer able to obstruct it.
“It appears that Philip Hammond has now accepted that Brexit will now happen fully and completely now that he and his Bank of England buddy, Mark Carney, are no longer able to obstruct it.”
I’m sure there must be an appropriate word or phrase for that – selfish pragmatism?
I wonder, does anyone know how our state broadcaster is going to commemorate this fifteenth anniversary of the horrendous Islamist terrorist attacks on London?
Do you remember these attacks? The bombs that slaughtered fifty two innocent people commuting to work during the rush hour. Somehow it seems almost airbrushed out of our history.
I’m intrigued because lately the Beeb, particularly BBC2 and BBC4, have been showing an endless assortment of prog’s all about the plight of black folk in Blighty and elsewhere..
Just in the last couple of weeks we’ve been deluged with programmes about the slave trade, the mistreatment of the “Windrush” generation and an awful lot on historic race crimes in the US. Oh, obviously they’ve mentioned Stephen Lawrence, once or twice too (ahem).
So, I mused, perhaps they might have something on tonight about that tragic day fifteen years ago…
I decided to take quick browse through today’s TV scheduling. Surely there’d be something…just a half hour…fifteen minutes… maybe just a mention…Nope. Hmm, strange…
However, there’s no need to be despondent, because if you’re a fan of the beloved NHS (and who isn’t?) you’re in for a real treat. At 9.00 this evening, BBC4 are showing a really splendid and apposite programme it would be foolhardy to miss.
I noticed this Jeff, and thought how contentious the title is, so what have the majority of white and indigenous nurses been doing since the time of Florence Nightingale then ? According to the BBC, absolutely bugger all.
Any white nurse young or old or retired, must wonder what the hell ? Nice going BBC.
I am sure if Andrew Neil is fired he will not mind if he is replaced by one of the Moslems he has spent such effort in defending from far right people like Tommy (tell me your real name. tell me tell me) and Katie Hopkins- ‘you are Trump’s leading supporter’ – Hopkins. . So long Neil.
For the last 48 hours Twitter has been pushing this anti Trump story
at the top of the search page
“Fox News segment crops Trump out of a photo with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell”
It’s common they push so much libmob stuff at me
Yet they are NOT pushing the Labour MP paedo story at me.
I am beginning to fear that the entire G. Maxwell story is going to be a well managed removal of Trump. The significance is that her so called arrest took place at a convenient time in the election year
“Former Labour MP Eric Joyce admits making an indecent image of a child.”
OK I have done a Twitter search
and the link to the ITV story does appear as a news link
Former Labour MP Eric Joyce admits making an indecent image of a child. https://t.co/tonAVETXbM
A twitter post from a survivor of the 7/7 terrorist attacks across London recalls a dark day for our country – one we all certainly remember.
But not a mention of the 15th anniversary on today’s BBCNews and just a single report hidden away on the England & London pages of its website.
15 years ago today I stepped on a tube train at Kings Cross. 6ft away a suicide bomber detonated his bomb, killing 26 in the carriage. I was lucky. 52 died over 4 sites, many more injured. Never gets easier. My love to all the bereaved families.
BBC rule “don’t mention Islamic Terrorism unless we can give or mate Sadiq PR”
Published just before midday
publication time for the BBC local story was 11:47am
Guest – ok – a hands up – i m not a fan of royalty and the netflix show was a real hoot … any way – some of the comments on twitter show that humour is not dead and how these two people are now a ‘ joke ‘ .
The twitter stuff about putting up a crowdfunding thing to hostage rescue harry …. or that he needs to look out for the tennis coach ….
I waste the data listening to a couple of LA airheads preaching so i guess their political musings are a bit rich ….
Andrew Neil has a completely valid point “What is it that the Commonwealth has done wrong?”
These prancing, prattling, pretenders to some sort of importance, and peddlars of pi$$-poor information really, really , really need to read up on their history.
To paraphrase a saying – “Why open your mouths and completely confirm your stupidity ?”
“Coronavirus: Majority testing positive have no symptoms”
As ever the BBC maintains it’s super high quality.
They assume that all people who get a positive test but at the time had no symptoms were asymptomatic carriers
em Some people might have had that test on day 4 and then developed physical symptoms on day 5 or 6
Oh the radio report now is admitting that lot of the people it classes as no symptoms at time of test , actually did have symptoms earlier
So the BBC has mixed that up with people who are truly asymptomatics.
========
And how worried should be about asymptomatics
“The WHO says the evidence points to minimal transmission from asymptomatic (distinct from pre-symptomatic) people.”
ALSO The image that BBC have been using for Twitter/link previews shows a lady having a swab test
She’s got her mask around her neck
That’s an absolute NO NO cos the bugs deposited on her neck get transferred to the INSIDE of the mask.
The HTML inside this page no longer points at that image,
but other BBC stories still use it. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-53320155
Some of the reader comments “Health and social care staff appeared to be more likely to test positive.”
Probably because health and social care staff are more likely to have been tested.
Hmm, an article based on only 122 +ve tests is on very shaky statistical grounds in scaling up any conclusions to the whole population
30 years ago 96% of my creative company was diverse. 75% of the ownership was diverse.
They were hired because they were best for the work.
As would Jaheed, assuming his application approach appealed, I saw his porty first, was impressed and felt he was a good fit after a mutually beneficial series of departmental interviews and references.
Some, in fact few, were from university mind. I hired the person, not the qualification.
Maybe one reason my company routinely won business in competition from multinationals, and retained it for years.
I imagine the same applies in broadcast media. If allowed.
Quote from the above article provided by Guest Who “30 years ago 96% of my creative company was diverse”.
Hmm that means that 4% was ‘not diverse’ – i.e. white ? (unless they were some sort of alien, or non-existant bodies. )
In which case your first premise is completely wrong, given the make-up of the population around you.
What you are really saying is that 96% of your company was non-white – which is pretty racist and totally non-diverse when you come to think of it clearly……since you would probably rant that a company which was 96% white wouldn’t be diverse in your view – but it would more closely match the diversity of people in this country than your company did at the time.
However I’m willing to bet that you aren’t even capable of thinking clearly, given your open gambit regarding diversity.
Guest Who – you are correct, I confused the company in the article with your personal history. I misread the ’30’ years as ‘3 years’, thereby completely misunderstanding your point. Apologies…..so used to reading articles from journals where people are claiming all sorts of stuff.
No excuses – bad interpretation by me. Mea culpa, mea maxima culpa.
Poor old, thick Harry. He leaves one of the most important and respected institutions in the world, with a direct influence over many countries in the old Commonwealth, and chooses to change our attitudes by living in LA with a third-rate actress. His decline into irrelevance as been rapid and deserved.
Why is nothing done when several BBC articles are shown to be complete fabrications? Is there no-one with influence remotely bothered? I can usually spot several examples a day of the BBC wilfully creating misleading headlines with no effort at all. But nothing is done.
The BBC will shoe-horn their agenda wherever they can. Take this mornings Archers an R4, a soliloquy…
A cherry farmer thinking aloud along the lines of:
“The Eastern Europeans are so much more reliable then workers in this Country. I guess because they have taken the trouble to leave their Country looking for work they have so much more commitment….. and you can’t mess around with cherries!”
No Mr. woke farmer it’s because they will work for practically sod all because they have no work in their own Country and will be prepared to live in a hut in the field and probably pay you rent for it, so feel free to take advantage! So sorry that you might now have to employ British labour AND pay a living wage.
I am beginning to realise that there is another side to the BBC’s bias. Take the last article I posted on The Archers pro Eastern European anti-white British blather.
I suspect that the BBC are actually trying to taunt us. I firmly believe that the main reason for the Archers “Can’t get Eastern European workers to work on British farms so easily now” thread was to try to mock and sting the horrible white “British” listeners they despise so much for causing Brexit.
The storyline is obviously written by a woke lefty ex-UNI bod and It’s at the level of 4th form rubber band flirting at the fatty in class. Good to know it’s probably the only weapon they have left now.
I noticed that BBC progs have a topic tags associated with them
“Science” about 4,600 results
“Women” About 4,580 results
(includes phrases which include : woman, women, female etc.)
“Men” 1,470 results
(includes phrases which include : man, men, male etc.)
“Far Right” 214 results
“Islam” 1,160 results
“Hindu” 669
“climate change” 756 ..that seems quite low so I guess it depends on what the producers choose as the tag
Every day throughout this lockdown in Brigadoon we have had to switch from bBC 1 Scotland..//not the new £32 million white elephant mind) its got its own freeview channel….but bBC 1…..to English bBC 1
1) to avoid listening to this grandstanding England hating woman
2) To have daily soma of a Bargain Hunt Repeat.
Some choice eh….?
Bargain Hunt repeats or Wee Krankie…what a choice AND
It’s title Grenfell Tower inquiry: Fire ‘inextricably linked with race’
Yes but it doesn’t mention the topics people immediately think of
That somehow native born British born people (largely white) get put at the back of the housing queue such that 40% of Grenfell residents were BAME
and that it’s highly likely there were factors like mass subletting, litter in the stairwells , and a failure by residents to follow proper procedures that contributed to the death toll.
Sure a white drunk in a Glasgow tower might set his flat on fire, but the overall outcome may not have been as severe I guess.
Kaiser,
Yes, that old chestnut won’t go away. But, I’m intrigued, ‘fire is racist’ is a new one on me. Well, I guess to most simpletons, everything in racist. Brings the day of reckoning closer.

Baroness Hussein-Ece tweeted from Sainsbury’s .
Her short Wikipedia page has this strange detail
“her second cousin Tracey Emin’s paternal great-grandfather, Abdullah, was reportedly a Sudanese slave in the Ottoman Empire”
The BBC conveniently forgetting to put in its tweet or the first part of the article how the bus exploded.
There’s only a cursory mention to one of the attackers’ name in the article.
RIP to Philip Russell and everyone else who were innocent victims of the atrocity.
Philip Russell, 28, was killed while en route to work on 7 July 2005, when the bus he was on exploded. https://t.co/8O7okAcwX1
The have made a kind of correction after getting a kicking in the comments and getting ratioed 6 to 1
They have added a new reply tweet
“Hasib Hussain detonated the bomb on the bus,
which killed 13 people.
He was one of four suicide bombers who targeted London on 7/7.”

‘Coronavirus: Spanish study casts doubt on herd immunity feasibility’
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-53315983

Richard – yes saw that – and also saw that the pubs were not in big cities ….
The other option – is that the chap who tested positive is a ‘health professional ‘ drinking covid cocktails ..

BLM, you are going to have a lot to answer for.

========
Some of the reader comments
“Health and social care staff appeared to be more likely to test positive.”

Luckily all my bets are non-pecuniary.

I can’t wait for their inevitable demise.

I noticed that BBC progs have a topic tags associated with them
“Science” about 4,600 results
“Women” About 4,580 results
(includes phrases which include : woman, women, female etc.)
“Men” 1,470 results
(includes phrases which include : man, men, male etc.)
“Far Right” 214 results
“Islam” 1,160 results
“Hindu” 669
“climate change” 756 ..that seems quite low so I guess it depends on what the producers choose as the tag

Climate Change is the ‘new normal’, the ingredient in ‘every’ BBC new story, drama, comedy etc. so not worth ‘tagging’.

Good news from a source with more journalistic integrity than the bbc, the statues are fighting back.
“Rocky Balboa Statue Goes 15 Rounds Against Rioters”

“The weak, sissy rioters charged the statue and started punching it, hurting their little man-baby hands and running away to cry to their parents, whom they probably still live with.”
Well, I believe it.

The BBC conveniently forgetting to put in its tweet or the first part of the article how the bus exploded.
There’s only a cursory mention to one of the attackers’ name in the article.
RIP to Philip Russell and everyone else who were innocent victims of the atrocity.

“Hasib Hussain detonated the bomb on the bus,
which killed 13 people.
He was one of four suicide bombers who targeted London on 7/7.”
..and put his photo
a Third tweet has a short video from a survivor.
