Midweek Thread 26 August 2020

Angry ? The Far Left BBC changing the format of the Last Night of the Proms ? Well the First Night of The Proms is this Friday 28th August . Some might say ‘best avoided’ whilst the Far Left BBC appeals to its ‘target ‘ audience .
In passing – it is 10 weeks until Furlough is due to end – so we can expect a BBC campaign to extend it to ‘forever’ .

Can’t comment on anything BBC-related as I’ve managed to avoid any of their output today. However, saw one of the latest entries in the endless White Female/Black Male genre of adverts.
It was for a Nintendo Switch game called Animal Crossing: New Horizons, in which the White F and Black M played the game together from their respective locations. What I found interesting was that their computer game avatars were also. . . White Female and Black Male. I don’t play computer games, but according to Wikipedia:
‘The game allows the player to customize the appearance of their character at will, and does not lock specific hairstyles or facial features to specific genders. Players are additionally able to select their character’s skin color, a feature introduced in the 2015 spin-off title Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer.’
I suppose Race is an issue in computer games too nowadays, whereas gamers used to be satisfied playing as Italian plumbers or whatever.
On the other hand, I did see an advert with an all-white cast. . . then again, it was for Dove gradual self-tanning mousse.

I read that BBC favourite Ash Sarkar claims that the row over Last Night of the Proms has been created by the Conservatives so as to keep the nation divided!

She would prefer that the Communist revolution proceed without criticism as the status quo favours the majority and so must be changed.

And we thought it was the BBC that had started the fuss by making changes! I can see now why she is never off the BBC!

Christchurch mosque attack killer gets life term without parole

    Brenton Tarrant

“Your crimes are so wicked that even if you are detained until you die, it will not exhaust the requirements of punishment.” Those were the words of a New Zealand judge as he imposed the country’s first sentence of life imprisonment without parole on the man who killed 51 people at two mosques in an attack live-streamed via Facebook. Australian Brenton Tarrant, 29, had admitted to the killings, another 40 counts of attempted murder and one charge of terrorism, yet appeared “neither contrite nor ashamed”, said Judge Cameron Mander.

The country’s prime minister, Jacinda Ardern, said the sentence meant Tarrant would have “no notoriety, no platform”. Tarrant had shown little emotion during a week in which almost 90 people had given victim impact statements in court. Among them was Sara Qasem, who said she wondered what her father Abdelfattah Qasem’s last thoughts were. “I wish more than anything in the world that I could have been there to hold his hand and tell him it would all be OK.” She struggled to hold back her tears, before looking at Tarrant and saying “these tears are not for you”.

TOADY reaches Soviet levels of disinformation, as it interviews US ‘protester’ Justin Miller.
Police/National guard reinforcements are ‘sparked’ by the killing of an unarmed black man who was ‘shot in the back’ by police. No mention of the likelyhood that he ws reaching for a concealed weapon in his vehicle; only the repeated lie that he was ‘getting into his car’. There is no mention of burning or looting, or the laying waste of towns. There is even a n ugly threat from the calm and reasonable sounding Miller (much encouraged by beeb) that this will continue until ‘voices are heard’.
In the sport break, Carthy needlessly repeats the mantra yet agin, to explain why ‘athletes’ are calling off events; ditto tennis. The constant rhythmic beeb chant of one single incident, ignoring all others, as well as broader context, borders on the criminal. Selective reporting tries to give so inaccurate a picture of events, one could argue that not even the Soviets were quite so brazen in their disinformation presented to the public.
This massive attempt to twist the truth and deceive the audience should not go unpunished. Al Beeb does not only need defunding. Complete abolition seems to be the only answer.

Seems beeb has found a new recipe: mention ‘the spark’, but nothing else in this series of events in Kenosha. Only ‘the spark’ matters. Sopel not happy there, cos ‘the spark’ wasn’t mentioned.
Link that to the previous ‘spark’, George Floyd, to establish with those two ‘sparks’ the story you want to tell.
And, by coincidence, those two ‘sparks’ are the same. Also entirely missing from this narrative is any background to these two ‘sparks’.
There was nothing that led up to ‘the spark’ and little of relevance after ‘the spark’.
You slant your interviews in such a manner that there are only threats of ‘more reaction to sparks’, making this sound like a reasonable and natural course of events.
The only real information about ‘the spark’ is selected by beeb to be race.
Beeb news from the US now almost confined to one phrase that explains everything: ‘the spark’. Even the Soviet era attempt to bring everything down to ‘imperialism’ was not conducted with such single-minded dishonesty.
Beeb has dumbed down news reporting to one single trigger word. Not even Pravda or Izvestia in the bad old days of the SU tried to pull that off.
    ‘The spark’ is all.

So the Finnish conductor of the LN is saying she had no part in the decision to ban RB and LOHAG and claims that it was all the doing of BBC management. If she is telling the truth , and I can believe her, then her only honourable course of action is to resign immediately.
Of course she associated herself with BLM and it is interesting that once social media turns the heat up on her she runs away. She is reported to have been heartbroken and frightened by the reaction. She ought to think how others feel when the Woke scum go after them.
Once again if the majority stand firm against the Wokist minority and give them a taste of their own medicine they turn tail and run. The lesson is clear the white majority and BAME who like Britain and want to be British and not change it to suit them, need to put the weak Wokists back in their box.
Sadly most of the MSM are in thrall to BLM . This story is covered in the Telegraph but no comments are allowed. I wonder why the Telegraph editor made the decision not to allow comments, perhaps he was worried that a lot of folks would be saying she got what she deserved.

Sluff – re ‘white supremacist’: like I said above, beeb are trying to better the Soviet era disinformation campaign. You have to invent a whole new language of favourite descriptors, which you use repeatedly, no matter whether they are accurate or true. No others may be used, and they always contain an entire narrative, endlessly repeated.
I remember it well: the enemy are always ‘imperialists’, even if you are the one with the empire. The entire dynamics of conflict are down to one explanatory word: mention that, and listeners know the whole story. There was also only ever ‘US aggression’ in any conflict; no one else ever aggressed anyone, and nothing else was needed to describe ‘the spark’ (oops) of any conflict.
This is what distinguishes news (generally neutral terminology) from propaganda (generally loaded and emotive terminology). Like the Soviets of old, beeb have chosen their strategy.

The bias on Toady this morning has been particularly notable not for its glaring nature but more for the insidious drip drip drip drip.
The New Zealand sentencing, the ‘too small’ ‘gaping hole’ in coronavirus policy, the fixation on Police actions in the USA (which mutate into the sports headlines as US basketball comes to a halt – as if we care).

My particular bug bear was a juxtaposition. Rolls Royce are making 5000 redundant in the UK to stay afloat as orders halve. That was it. 5000. It’s just a number to the BBC.
Compare with Public Health England, where there was a long article about how staff were feeling ‘uncertain’ as PHE is being abolished. And they’ve all worked so hard, don’t you know. But what’s the betting none will actually be put out of work? As usual the civil servants counting paper clips will just transfer into another non-job. On full pay and pension entitlement. Paid for by us and our children.

The BBC like to look after their own. That means public sector. They just don’t give a toss about the private sector- you know, the bit that actually generates the wealth that pays for everything else.

Sluff – having now completed my 14 fourteen days of government imposed house arrest – and having read the absolutely inept regulations – I’d like to comment on the ‘compensation ‘. There should be none .

Somehow the Corbyn money tree syndrome has infected the so called ‘conservative ‘ government and their squandering of taxpayers ( borrowed ) money knows no end .

Quite honestly – if someone can’t handle 14 days house arrest – then don’t go abroad to riskier places .

I’m hoping to travel overseas to an alt home next week . There will be nobody about – there are no holiday makers – the time shares are locked up . It’s like mid winter . But when I come back I will be getting another dose of house arrest – I’m lucky – I can arrange my personal /work life around this – but the mental effect is something

This is because when the country was ‘locked down ‘ one took comfort from knowing every one was in the same boat – but with house arrest I know
    It is badly planned
Arbitrarily set out (14 days )
    Not enforced
    Impractical
    Too many exemptions
    Unfocused
Too late compared to unregulated travel at the height of the first wave of the pandemic .

I wrote and told my MP but I know how much traction that will get .

As an aside – if you travel overseas these days by BA – you can play the ‘cancellation game ‘ . I was to go to Amsterdam for an overnight – the outward flight was changed 4 times – the return 4 times – and then completely cancelled . This is just factual and not a moan – but it shows the strain in the system .

Arch Global Warming debunker @Tony__Heller Replying to @BBCWorld
If someone had said on March 1st that government was about to lock the entire population in their homes, force tens of millions out of work, arrest people for walking their dog or going to the beach
      – that person would have been labeled a “conspiracy theorist.”

When I dig into David Icke stuff, it’s almost as if he is parodying the BBC

Virginia Senator Louise Lucas was arrested for conspiracy to destroy property
.. Viva concludes , that so far it is looking like a malicious political prosecution
cos although she encouraged protesters to step over the barriers and spray paint the statue, she wan’t there when 2 hours later the destruction happened.

Apparently Florida has some complaints (from out of state) – but those victims aren’t being used by SDNY – which is weird….

Dem activists were all over the appeal – I wonder if the “Florida victims” have any erm… connections?

      See BH Trump thread

The WeBuildtheWall investigation began in Florida in January 2019 after the AG received a series of complaints.. The case was built by Florida’s Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services under Republican AG Ashley Moody. Indeed the allegations are not new and Kolfage would seem to have form.

One might think that the complainants would be a gift to SDNY…..

When reading the link, the bBC hasn’t put much effort in, just seems like its something they were told to do, very short and to the point, no fluffy bits added on

andy – the fluffy bits might observe that insignificant numbers are being returned, compared to the mass daily arrivals, well into three figures each day. I would not even use the word ‘deported’, which gives them an exaggerated status.
The painfully slow process and tiny numbers suggest that getting rid is a cumbersome and expensive process, compared to ‘intercepting’ them and taking them to Dover.
Any ‘lessons learnt’? e.g. Easy to bring in, hard to get out?

Let’s be fair. Our “Worlds Most Trusted” broadcaster would be least of all happy that illegal invaders are being shipped back. Put yourself in their position. If you had been working diligently for decades as a Fifth Columnist to destroy the country from within, you would not be happy to see your little helpers being shipped out.

NBA, MLB and MLS postpone games after Milwaukee Bucks’ walkout over Jacob Blake shooting

Ok ..here we go – After calling off their game against the Orlando Magic, the Bucks players released a statement that said: “Despite the overwhelming plea for change, there has been no action, so our focus today cannot be on basketball.

“When we take the court and represent Milwaukee and Wisconsin, we are expected to play at a high level, give maximum effort and hold each other accountable.

“We hold ourselves to that standard, and in this moment, we are demanding the same from our lawmakers and law enforcement.

“We are calling for justice for Jacob Blake and demand the officers be held accountable.

    …………………………………………………………………

What complete and utter bollox !!! So, if Saint Jacob had managed to return to his car for his GUN and SHOT the officers dead, thats OK in Lefty Virtue Signalling world ???

There has been no action despite call for change , sorry, despite the riots, looting, killings etc ?? Really ? How many whites have been shot by BLACK officers and not a word muttered.

They really are something else. Race relations back 25 years thanks to BLM, Lefty media and these virtue signalling bell ends .

Isn’t it strange how the lefties have changed their tune on “no parole” sentencing for offenders?

I have long been of the opinion that life should mean life when it comes to the more heinous crimes – especially mass murder. I therefore applaud the NZ judge’s stance on the sentence of Brenton Tarrant.

When expressing my opinion on full life sentencing I have often been challenged by lefties that it is inhumane and ignores both the preposition that “even the worst sinner is capable of redemption” and the concept that, as well as punishment and deterrent, a sentence should also have a presumption that the offender can be rehabilitated. I’ve been labelled as many things by those that challenge my opinion – a typical little Englander “flog ’em and hang ’em” totalitarian reactionary (and proud of it!).

Imagine my surprise therefore when I read lefty Saint Jacinda’s comments about the sentencing of Brenton Tarrant.

After seeing her comments I did a little research into NZ Labour’s stated policies on law and order and quickly came across a couple of statements which I would completely disagree with but which illustrate the left’s previously soft attitude to serious offenders and also its ability to dilute/alter/ignore its principles if and as the circumstances require:

“8.8 we believe that the state…should play an active role in rehabilitating offenders.”

“8.17 Labour rejects the “lock them up and throw away the key” approach to criminal justice.”

Which one is it Jacinda? Your long-held values and beliefs that even the worst offender can redeem himself? Or your (understandable) approach to Brenton Tarrant’s case?

Wow! News from SA on beeb! But nothing about the farm attacks in the last two-three days, in which people were shot, farmer Andre Marais fatally.
The big story is the shooting of a wanted criminal in Wisconsin.
Presumably the fact that the deceased in SA was white and the killers black, makes this a non-story for the bbc.
Mind you, this regrettably is a daily event now in SA, so perhaps not of interest? Then again, the constant stream of farm murders, which have strong racial overtones, would make this low intensity warfare a big story.
But still the wrong way round for beeb’s race baiting tales of horror. (Not that black farm workers are exempt from the killings.)

As the BBC is trying desperately to increase black faces on its programmes, may I make the following suggestion.
Bring back Crimewatch. with all those reconstructions of stabbings and shootings in London, just think how many unemployed black actors could be used. In between their doing adverts of course
