Well here we are , still appended to the European Empire , Al Beeb is still sending me demands for its ‘protection money’ and all the economy is being systematically wrecked and trashed because of some new strain of Flu virus. What happens when a new Kung Flu is cooked up in the east?
Are the infections stabilising or are the figures being ‘massaged’ as the scientists have realised that they have blundered and are now backtracking out, slowly and gradually, so as not to give the game away ?
I thought BoJo had a very good ‘advisor’ by the name of Cummings ?
The first thing BoJo should do, is to do away the Telly Tax to ease the pressure on those people suffering the hardship and loss of caused by unemployment.

Stew, in one area I check I find they bounce around a bit but haven’t varied by more than 7- 8% for some weeks. The area runs at about two-thirds of the claimed national average for England. There has been only one extra death that is claimed due to Covid for some weeks now.

I never thought I would see all that happening under A Tory Government, especially under a Prime Minister who looks up to W. S. Churchill as a Hero.
So if Biden wins through mail votes found in bulk sacs left at locations during or after US election deadlines, should we be surprised after our own ‘Tower Hamlets’ fraud in much the same way in London local elections? There is a case to ban postal ballots totally (abuse is obvious) and make them digital ID only based on ‘living’ persons and not the deceased, as it now appears the deceased have carried the vote here. Huge reform is needed to stop this, the left seem to benefit in this in each and every election. Maybe that is why they hate democracy so much. So as America turns Socialist, its still not clear who wins here. Biden may ‘win’ but he cannot overturn 70 million legitimate votes against him. So effectively, half of America has joined the RESISTANCE and it will not be an easy ride for this old man against the will of the people. No doubt Communist hard liners will take over mid-way during Biden socialist (he claims) to be. A (BBC, CNN) media success to have pulled this old fool into the oval office (who is going to be pro EU), and try to align the UK to any US trade deal with convergence to the EU ‘politik’ and tinker with Northern Ireland. More on the US resistance on Spiked! Viva la resistance! https://www.spiked-online.com/2020/11/06/the-real-resistance/
Thanks Philip_2, that Spiked article was a brilliant read; really well-written and brought in to focus a lot of things I’d been wondering about myself. Will start to read Spiked more.
For me the re-emergence of voting on clear class-concerns lines was interesting. I’ve been trying to articulate to friends, family, even colleagues why I can no longer vote for the Left. They are devisive in their obsession with identity politics and lose sight of common economic issues. The white privilege thing, for example – when white working class boys have been the group falling behind.
I’ve thought of it as champagne-socialism – white elites maintaining their own privilige under the guise of caring about minority groups. Because why not just care about all disadvantaged groups?
Also his discussion of cultural elites and cancelling those who don’t agree – this is so real; it happened here during the Brexit campaign, and I felt a breeze of it myself. I kept quiet about my vote and when I did reveal it in the office one day another leaver asked if it had been wise for me to ‘come out’. How is this ok? When did debate and discussion die? How can any free- thinking person stand for it?
Anyway, bravo Brendan O’Neil (apologies if mis-spelt)
The next time someone gets their head chopped off, the terrorist-loving BBC will wring their hands in dismay crying ‘why oh why’? In the name of islam, which is a religion of peace, why?
Here’s a clue.
‘Muslim Girls’ School Teaches Students How to Behead Blasphemers’
The Pakistan vid seems to check out
tweeted by ExMuslimsorg on Nov1
comes from a Oct 29 tweet
marked “Radical female teacher at pro-Jihad Pakistani Islamic seminary Jamia Hafsa beheads the effigy of French President Macron in front of brainwashed female students, many of them children. ”
That madrassa is mentioned in an old BBC story An Islamic seminary for women in Pakistan’s capital Islamabad has renamed its library after Osama Bin Laden, the former al-Qaeda chief.
The Jamia Hafsa Madrassa is linked to the Red Mosque, known for its alleged links with militants.
Pakistani troops raided the mosque in 2007. Dozens died later in clashes.
(some say school girls died in that 2007 attack)
Regarding earlier comments about Count Arthur Strong. (Several series on radio 4, still the occasional Xmas special).
I don’t know whether the BBC made him or if the Count would’ve become Britains pre-eminent (?) light entertainment legend but I bow (sp) to no man in my love and adoration of this man. Saw him live last year. Seen all the videos. Heard all the shows.
A whisker behind Laurel and Hardy imho. Leave him out of any discussion about a lack of comedy on the BBC.
Can’t argue. However the radio show was set in Yorkshire with a pub, a traditional cafe and a butcher’s. The tv show was quite woke, set in a cafe run by an Iranian (I think) and set in London . Both very funny though.
Fed, apologies for transposing the following from the previous thread, but have only just read it. “Telegraph reports that average heights of both girls and boys is reducing in the UK. Me – I’m 6’4” and often been a victim of ‘small man ‘ syndrome – which I recognise now – but not when I was younger and fairer….. ”
Its something I have to agree on. Gone are the days when chaps were ‘strapping 6 footers”, and without wishing to generalise, it appears that around 5’10 is the norm for blokes. A few years ago this was put to the test when I gingerly did some online dating, and the 6’ footers (and above) were indeed a rarity, with the most common height for chaps being 5’7 !! Both my Dad and late husband were 6 foot, which in their day was the norm.
Bris – having always been long ive never given thought to the plight of the short . But far too late i realised that short bosses tended to bully – taking advantance of the amiable countenance i once had .
Ive never tried to put my size 13s into the shoes of shorter people either…
….. but i have mused on how my grandfather survived 4 years on the Western Front without getting his head blown off – he was 6 ft . Tall men in the trenches had a tendency to be the victim of snipers . …..
Sorry Brissles, that’s just wrong. Every generation we get a little taller. Most sons are taller than their fathers.
Let’s look at an area that I have some expertise…
The heights of well known heavyweight boxers…We now have a world champion of 6ft 9, Tyson Fury. Cassius Clay was 6ft 3. Joe Louis, just a piddly 6ft. Primo Carnera, The Ambling Alp, was huge at 6ft 6, but he was considered a freak. Nowadays, he’d be just one of the pack…
The further you go back the smaller people get.
Our most notorious king, Henry VIII, was written about as a giant at 6ft 2. Most of his wives barely scraped 5ft…a couple were a fair bit shorter after they had visited the Tower of London…
Henry would be thought of as tall today, but hardly gigantic…
I think the average height for men is now (about) 5ft9, but fifty years ago was 5ft 7.
I’m afraid, 6ft was not the norm in your dad’s day.
Probably about 5ft 7.
Oh, please try to remember…
Size isn’t everything;)
Because he was so short (ideal for mining), he was unable to answer the call in WW1, because they only wanted men over 5’3″.
When most of these brave men had been killed on the battlefield, the powers that be made up more regiments of men below this height, called them Bantam Regiments, and sent them out to be killed as well.
We shall have to agree to disagree, and maybe the chaps on dating sites have all shrunk with age then !!! and yes, size in height is everything. Ask any lady if she prefers to be seen with a chap who is taller than her or one who is below her height and I’ll tell you what the answer will be.
One of the many reasons I was hoping for a Trump victory was to see TV personalities, luvvies and assorted Hollywood riff-raff have a collective meltdown.
Sadly, we haven’t been given that pleasure (yet) but here’s one melting down because the defeat of Orange Man isn’t coming quick enough.
This snowflake ‘comic’ actually chokes up on stage because Trump is challenging the rigged results of the rigged election.
Imagine, if you will, the Niagara of tears if he actually wins!! They’ll have to build a dam.
Of course they will, Taff, that’s what the TV tax is for, to cover up nasties, deny everything contemptible and employ lawyers to make up the difference!
“Scrap the current internal complaints system and put the 350 BBC publicists (combined pay £15 million-a-year plus?) to work instead in scrutinising output to get rid of liberal bias and in ensuring complaints are properly investigated rather than being seen as an intrusion.
Abandon your defence of the BBC licence fee and the outmoded notion of universal provision and start planning now for major change to reflect changes in the media environment. It’s only when the Corporation has to fight in the marketplace for audiences that it will become fully responsive to audience needs and preferences, and it will be all the better for it.”
Will the BBC pay any attention? More and more people are certainly jettisoning the TV tax (Keighley also links to a September 2020 article in Comment Central):
“ … This clear issue of bias by selection has had a deleterious effect on how the public perceive the corporation.
A YouGov poll from December revealed that less than half of Britons (44 per cent) trusted what BBC journalists told them. Similar numbers from Ofcom found that 59 per cent found BBC News impartial. This may explain the gradual erosion of its audience figures. During Hall’s seven year tenure, viewership drastically declined. According to Statistica, viewership of BBC news has plummeted by a quarter. In 2012 25 million regularly watched news on its channels, by 2019, this figure had dropped to roughly 18 million.
The BBC have failed to understand its audience. This can be reflected in the growing number of people losing interest in what the BBC offers. The official figures show the number of people getting rid of their licence has rocketed: 860,000 were cancelled in 2017-18 up 62,000 from 798,000 the previous year. Whilst admittedly a relatively small proportion considering 26 million still have one, 2,300 are still cancelled daily. This figure will only continue to rise.”
All power to the elbow of News-watch! (And Defund the BBC)!
So if President Trump sticks to his guns and calls out any shenanigans of ‘sudden vote syndrome’, in the various swing states, will Biden be the first contender to be impeached before he actually realises that he’s lost?
If blatant fraud is found, it may be treason. But, needless to say, the issues involving treason are mounting up but no sign of any being taken further eg. the Durham Report.
It will all disappear, something will happen and the ballots will no longer be available for scrutiny . Biden will become President for a few months before he is deemed to be medically unfit for office and Harris will take over,
Our Labour Party will be observing with interest and will no doubt try to employ the Democrat’s tactics in elections here. Be prepared for a massive increase in postal ballots.
“ BBC Breakfast seems to have turned against the Tories, with presenter Naga Munchetty ripping into Nadhim Zahawi over faults in help for self-employed people”

That’ll help.
How long before Naga decides the lure of politics might pay enough?
I was reluctant to go to sleep last night in case the BBC miraculously found a few more States that Biden had won, at the bottom of a sack somewhere at 4am.
Apparently not, but they’re oozing with pleasure to trumpet the headline: ‘We’re going to win this race’ – Biden.
And they’re posting a picture of the old cadaver trying his best to look Presidential, with the wicked witch by his side.
Lord help us if they win and she takes over: 4 years of her cackling laugh!
Why is a pen needed? Could be wrong on this but the counted votes are bound and rechecked by a Table Marshall or Supervisor or whatever they are called and the original counter and the Table Marshall both sign the docket around the bound votes.
The votes in bundles are then re-sealed in boxes (in case of recount, etc.) with the count going to a person collating the tally for that station or district.
This morning’s BBC on-line presentation of our national newspaper front pages draws attention to the fact: ‘The Daily Mail has no mention of the US elections on its front page’ – no mention of the ongoing and inconclusive vote count in another country, that is the repetitious old news that’s topping every TV broadcast – yeah, I can see why some press editors might perhaps reason the British public don’t necessarily want it dominating their every newspaper headline for the third day running.
Of course the BBC are none too keen on the headline story the Mail is running: ‘BBC Diana scandal: Spencer’s damning dossier’
The BBC responds to the Mail report with a nice example of its most superior po-faced of attitudes: ‘…It instead chooses to focus on claims journalist Martin Bashir allegedly tricked Diana, Princess of Wales to gain an interview broadcast on the BBC’s Panorama programme 25 years ago.’
25 years… OK, so Diana is hardly new news. But if the liberal media can keep bombarding our consciousness with Bloody Sunday, Hillsborough and bloody Stephen Lawrence…
Anniversaries take the attention of our tabloids: ’20 years of I’m a Celeb’ in the Daily Mirror, topped by the Express with their ‘Happy 100th Birthday Rupert Bear’
To the Aussie jungle, fly little Ant and Dec,
Awarded top rated TV, but what the heck?
“C” list celebs on a diet of dry crackers,
Tucker trials of bugs and wallaby’s knackers.
The Telegraph presents a story whose headline unwittingly perhaps provides a mantra for our dawning new globalist reset age: ‘Remembrance events to be discouraged’
It’s a commonplace and a cliche – but how George Orwell and 1984 is that?
BBC WEB-SITE Watch #1 – the BBC don’t do science any more
This item appeared on the BBC web-site yesterday “UK energy plant to use liquid air” https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-54841528 Needless to say that nonsense was written by Roger Harrabin. Say no more.
For those completely committed to the arts in adult life I would remind them of one of the Physics teachers’ favourite little teasers for 11 and 12 year olds: ‘When is a fluid not a fluid?’
I expect lots of hands to be shooting up right now. “Sir. Sir. Please, Sir. I know.”
The BBC meme, re the American election, is that there has been no evidence of fraud. Surely, that’s how fraud usually works until you actually look…
They’ve certainly changed their tune since Brexit. Blimey, we had three years of unfounded rumours about Russian intervention, Cambridge Analytica and Facebook. Gina Miller was never off our screens. Every syllable was listened to without criticism. We were subjected to court cases and demonstrations. Some idiot with a megaphone set up camp outside Parliament. All of these, absolutely unfounded, gripes were deemed to be legitimate by our beloved Beeb.
The vote was too close to call, they said… And this one isn’t?
It was exactly the same in the US after Trump’s victory over Clinton. The same people, the same unfounded bleating, the same poison.
Just imagine if these “suspicious” postal votes had backed Mr Trump.
There would be legions of luvvies screaming about corruption. There would be that recognisable, snotty tone, from all the BBC reports. Think what John Sopel and his cohorts would say. They would sneer that the vote wasn’t legitimate. They’d interview anyone and everyone with a half-baked conspiracy theory. They’d blame Putin, the “right wing media”, even the bloody Mafia if they thought they could get away with it.
Your post is brilliant and exactly right. But I’d add that the bbc not only deemed all the gripes legitimate (unfoundedly) but also that they gave them credence and made them a thing. They weren’t only reporting with bias, but actively moulding the anti-leave vote campaign imo.
Maybe there will be lots of applications for jobs in Public Relations going in soon? “Do you have any experience?” “Yes, I’ve done some personal promotion work. Oh, and I have built contacts in the media.” “Which media?” “Just the broadcast and internet media.”
Needless to say, the lady in question (Laura McCormack) appears to be an activist rather than an ordinary person in the street, as is mandated by BBC Policy. Putting aside the impression that she’s after a new iPhone (any progressives feel like donating?), a quick look at her Twitter account will give a flavour of her wider interests and viewpoints. If she was dead, she’d be voting for Biden 🙂
“We’re fully employed white people – I can’t imagine what those with less systemic privelege are going through”
“I am really excited to be attending a workshop on integrating #peacebuilding and #climate adaptation efforts this morning with @EPLO. Climate change is an essential lens to view peacebuilding activity – particularly in already fragile contexts.”
The bbc, which is installed without vote and supported by compulsory funding, that is transparent unless it is exempted, and holds power to account if they don’t like the person with it, has decided to assemble a bbc panel to assess leadership.

Fos,
All in all, the US is suffering for the same reasons as the UK, electorally. Two of the longest standing, so-called, “Democracies”. Along with everything else, for decades if not centuries, legislation piled on legislation piled on historic legislation. Not to mention Appeal Court decisions “interpreting the legislation” like the left wing Supreme Court making up the law as we saw last year. It is impossible to fathom the fetid morass. Certainly for the ordinary person. The whole thing is rancid, riddled with mildew, not fit for purpose. Yet, as we speak, even on these defective and highly suspect foundations, the current crop of politicians will be piling more manure on the top again, again, and again. They only have themselves to blame particularly when one piece of legislation effectively and contrarily, ‘trips over’ or overlaps with another. It is only the public that suffer day to day.
So, making more complex legislation piled on previous: does it improve matters? And we’ve got Sharia to improve matters and integrate sometime in the near future
Well put G-biggest criminal apparatus operates in the United States of America-The left has looked at the atrocities commited by the fascisits in WW2 and drawn completely the wrong conculsions. Istead of opposing intolerance in all its guises it has turned on its own people and attacked the very culture, national pride, history and homobeneity that allowed evil to be defeated in the first place. Instead of embracing decency and family they have adopted the same kind of superstitous, hate filled, violent ideology that brought the world to war in the first place. Broadly speaking the Labour Party and your taxpayer funded national opinion former, the BBC, are run by a cabal of unreconstructed student radicals who never lost faith in the propaganda drip-fed to them by their Marxist lecturers in the 70s and 80s. No one except the Islamists whose hatred for everyhting the West stood for has qualified them as the Left’s last ally in their great totalitarian crusade. For Marxixt left and the BBC the mass migration of Third World poor to suckle at the teat of Britain’s wlfare state was just payment for the imagined injusticies of the detested British Empire and the white men who administered it.
Just to add, when I was a Principal Consultee to central Government back in the early 2000’s, I developed a simple phrase to explain what I saw. That was, “Trying to run in lead boots”. And having started my professional diving career using the old standard diving kit, I knew precisely how accurate that expression was.
If someone tested positive for Covid and is entitled to a Covid support payment
could the same person borrow 5 different set of IDs
and go to 5 different test centres
and claim 5 different set of payments ?
I bet the gov doesn’t even ask for formal ID at test centres.
I’m (almost) sad as I think back to my own days of listening to The Westminster Hour (which presumably is what you mean by “the Sunday night crap”) the Week in Westminster and even Today, which I still sample occasionally simply to take its temperature. My trust has gone and will be hard to get back. It may well soon be a case of “FOOC off” for me too, though I sometimes listen to a few minutes when it’s more insightful and detached.
Fed, you lasted longer than me. How long ago was Jack Ashdown’s daughter the preferred person to lead the programme? I listened for probably a few more years but gradually stopped listening to the editions led by obviously Left journalists. Gradually that meant I stopped listening at all because right wing journalists on the BBC became rarer than hens’ teeth. It is now so long ago that I stopped listening I had forgotten the programme even existed.
I just want people who seem impartial, or at least have the ability to criticize etc from all sides like Andrew Neil. For me it would be back to being a great broadcaster if I didn’t feel aware of the person being right or left wing at all. Or any wing.
Al Beeb is delighted to report that a school in Bangladesh welcomes transgenders.
Yippee.
But they don’t seem at all interested in other news from Bangladesh, where 2 Hindu men have been arrested and their village burned down for allegedly commenting favourably on a Facebook post from France supporting Macron. (He’s the new Great Satan for members of the Religion of Intolerance and Hysteria.)
At a spring 2016 Republican debate attended by the Bushes, George H.W. ‘Poppy’ Bush, looked directly at Donald Trump and gave him the ‘throat slit’ gesture. The Bushes at that time wanted the Clintons back in the white house. A Hilary Clinton Presidency then would guarantee that all things that the New World Order wants done would continue to be done. The Clintons and Bushes have been criminal partners for more than 35 years-dominated the Americam government, the military-intelligence apparatus, the judicial system, the financial markets, and the banks-they dominated the corporate media and Hollywood. Donald Trumps victory to become President back then upset all their future plans. Clinton/Bush-bunch of crooks and from that time of Trump’s entry into the White House, have been preparing for his deprture. Trump has dared to mention some of the Clinton/Bush crimes and was supported by a number of flag officers and intelligent operatives who opposed Clinton/Bush-unfortunately for Trump many Republicans don’t like him and wanted him gone. His coice of Mike Pence as vice president running mate was a bad choice, for many reasons-it is claimed he was Trumps designated handler and control agent, and that was considered the end of the idea that Trump would be an agent for change. The next President will likelt be a criminal in a long line of criminals, or a puppet such as Biden, who has been controlled by the same criminal force-there is just no way the the New World Order will permit a government that is not crawling with its own members, infested with Bush/Clinton operatives.
Not certain yet but a Biden in the White House, will guarantee war, across many areas of the world thereby increasing immigration from those war infested nations, into Europe and beyond.
Free election of masters does not abolish the masters or the slaves.” ― Herbert Marcuse
Republicans and Democrats alike fear that, the other party will attempt to hijack this election. Which as is being shown the Democrats have done. Vote rigging? As and American said, ‘The outcome is a foregone conclusion: the Deep State will win and “we the people” will lose. The damage has already been done. A word from J F Kennedy-‘The word secrecy is repugnant in a free and open society..’
tarien – JFK certainly paid a heavy price for his views. Can’t see him supporting the ‘officials’ who have been preventing Republican access to counting offices.
Trump has many shortcomings, but direct communication with the ‘masses’ is not one of them. I’ve been wondering what price he will pay for that openess and refusal to work ‘through’ the Republican establishment. At this moment of crisis, they seem significantly absent.
JFK was terminated because he was about to unveil the existence of extraterrestrials on earth and their nefarious plans for the hybridisation of the human race.
On R4’s ‘Today’ this morning, there was a typical BBC soft-ball interview between Mishal Ma Bell-end and a certain JB, former director of “the Company” across the pond. All very friendly, no interruptions, as JB set out how things are going to be in foreign relations when Joe Biden is President. You could just feel the ‘lurve’.
….and, of course, Mr B(rennan) is one of those whose dearest wish was for a Biden victory, to prevent any continuation of the investigation of the ‘Deep State’ in the US.
I’ve just seen a report from the USA where the girl from sky news (bsn?) was reading out her latest news about the election and, as we all expect, it’s totally anti Trump.
Almost every time the results were mentioned she said words to the effect of “Trump claims of vote stealing but has no proof” or “there’s no evidence of vote fixing” at the end of every sentence to get the message out that this election was scrupulously fair and no wrongdoings at all occurred.
There’s tons of evidence that this election is fake.
It’s as honest as a Tower Hamlets election.
There’s pages and pages of examples on the net.
Look on Parler for hundreds of examples.
EVERY fiddle, ‘mistake’ or ‘error’ just happens to result in tens (sometimes hundreds) of thousands of votes going to sleepy Joe. Not one example of Trump getting a vote from anywhere.
I’m so sick of the left. Its always them cheating. I can’t ever recall a vote being fiddled by the right.
This has been a disgrace, both before the election (covering up for biden’s son and so many other examples we all know about but the msm kept hidden) and now, where all examples of vote cheating are being suppressed.
150 year old voters.
150% voter turnouts.
100’s of 1000’s of emergency democrat votes suddenly appearing where needed.
Whistleblowers being ignored.
It’s plain to see this is a totally corrupted election which must be held again but honestly the next time.
Putin and the miscellaneous ‘stans could learn a lot from the democrats about vote rigging.
Yet. On our tv screens…….tumbleweed.
They refuse to show any of the thousands of examples of the cheating.
They are beneath contempt.
Some other girl on bsn now saying “there is absolutely no evidence of voting fraud” and repeating it in case anyone missed it.
Oh, and Biden saying he’s had the highest vote ever.
He would have wouldn’t he and if not they can just print some more.
On bbbc radio newcastle yesterday the DJ introduced a commentator as a Trump supporter.

“Black Lives Matter activist Imarn Ayton about Churchill”
Nazism became the reference point for good and evil; how fictional portraits such as Sauron, Darth Vader and Voldermort echo the notion of Hitler;
and now no visual image packs the same emotional punch as a swastika.
Topics
– How post-war film handled WW2.
– the interplay between Cold War politics and portrayals of Germany.
– how the evil in Tolkien’s world was influenced by the Nazis.
– alsoThe President of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance,
– the way in which the Holocaust came to be a defining characteristic of the Second World War,
– YouTuber Jackson Bird about evil in Harry Potter
Question for the BBC and all Leftists: why only “the prism of anti-Nazism”?
Why not anti-Communism? Stalin killed many more than Hitler, and Communist China killed several times more than both of these two put together. Pol Pot clocked up quite a few, too. The usual answer to this, when they’re pushed, is to say, “well, if you want to make an omelette, you have to break eggs” but like Orwell I don’t see much of an omelette in most Communist systems alongside the big pile of egg shells (smashed skulls?)
The real reason they are obsessed with Nazism is because they have successfully labelled it as extreme Right, when one might just as well label it as extreme authoritarian, having a lot in common with the extreme Left (the “circular theory” of political leanings). This way, any Right-wing politician can be labelled and dismissed as “Nazi” or, at least, “Far Right”, if they threaten the vested interests: hence the studentish idea of Thatcher = Nazi, Trump = Nazi, Farage = Far Right, likewise Orban, Bolsonaro, Salvini, …
The Left authoritarians of the BBC have fewer problems with their fellow Left authoritarians abroad and at home. Birds of a feather …

There is a petition to grant her asylum in UK.
When bacon sandwiches fly, I’m afraid Maira, as it might upset UK muslims.
But at least our media will take up the case, right? As her lawyer declared: “We need people in the West to hear the truth about what happens to people like Maira so that pressure can be brought to bear to ensure their safety.”
Type her name into the BBC search box and you get: “Sorry, there are no results for Maira Shahbaz.”
American conservatives are pointing to the fact that the most vanilla candidate the Democrats could possibly rustle up to front their anti-Trump campaign only just squeaked in.
Billions of campaign dollars spent by Democrat donors on advertising with both a mainstream and social media corporate onslaught against Trump and yet still they failed miserably in their push to seize the Senate and in fact lost ground in several State legislatures.
Hispanics and blacks voted for Trump in surprisingly large numbers.
A crumb of comfort for the Left is that they got through some more drug legalisation. Hey cool, man!
Hardly a ringing endorsement for the Leftist agenda was it?
Now for the hard left party activists versus the Biden White House fight. Massive historic deficits and demands for stimulus with the Democrats getting the blame for tax rises and a crashed economy.
It has been noted that Donald Trump’s campaign show opener was the Rolling Stones You don’t always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you find you get what you need.
I see the denouement taking place in America as a battle royale, a fight to the death between a mighty lion and a pack of snarling hyenas tearing at his flesh.

Now the vision changes and the BBC is one of the hyenas – the ugliest of them all.

#2 That it caused WW2

And those harsh term later gave Hitler cause to fight back.

It affects youth more than it effects old

The prog didn’t pick up on the way 30K didn’t get it .

I am not a ‘poppy person’, I have an aversion to mass movements.
I am grateful that unlike my grandfather and father I was never called to ‘serve’.
I do my own ‘remembering’ from time to time, reflecting on what those in the armed forces went through, the highs and the lows. Human nature doesn’t change that much and for all of human history suffering has been a major part.
It’s hard to judge from where we stand but I have a horrible feeling that we are seeing all that our ancestors fought for being taken away very rapidly with scarce a whimper.
‘They’ have stolen our language so there aren’t words to describe it; just as well as they would propbably constitute a ‘hate crime’.

The Jamia Hafsa Madrassa is linked to the Red Mosque, known for its alleged links with militants.
Pakistani troops raided the mosque in 2007. Dozens died later in clashes.

I don’t know whether the BBC made him or if the Count would’ve become Britains pre-eminent (?) light entertainment legend but I bow (sp) to no man in my love and adoration of this man. Saw him live last year. Seen all the videos. Heard all the shows.

I had a great uncle, who was a coal miner.
My great uncle never came back.

A very good open letter from David Keighley (Director, News-watch) to the biased BBC:
https://www.conservativewoman.co.uk/bbc-bias-an-open-letter-to-the-new-director-general/
Note these 2 paras in particular:
More and more people are certainly jettisoning the TV tax (Keighley also links to a September 2020 article in Comment Central):
https://commentcentral.co.uk/the-bbcs-licence-fee-is-not-the-only-problem/
It gives the stats:

On the whole, I prefer Rob’s explanation.

They’re a disgrace.

Your post is brilliant and exactly right. But I’d add that the bbc not only deemed all the gripes legitimate (unfoundedly) but also that they gave them credence and made them a thing. They weren’t only reporting with bias, but actively moulding the anti-leave vote campaign imo.

BBC WEB-SITE Watch #2 – something seems to be going on ….
Is it just me or do I detect some increasing self-promotion in these days of Pandemic by people usually of the female, good looking, persuasion?

I think the best comment I have seen on the USA election
up to now is. ” I am so disappointed with my grandpa.
He voted for Biden. When he was alive he was a staunch
Republican.”
This all reminds me of the Peterborough by election when
one of our brothers from the religion of peace played
fun and games digging up a few long gone bodies, to cast their votes.

Fos,
All in all, the US is suffering for the same reasons as the UK, electorally.

If someone tested positive for Covid and is entitled to a Covid support payment
could the same person borrow 5 different set of IDs

and claim 5 different set of payments ?

The first thing he replied was “no I’m not”
Maybe he heard the caller who somehow managed to get through a couple of days ago who was a real Trump supporter and as soon as they realised it they cut him off.

3pm R4 drama : A reworking of Ben Jonson’s tale.
Set in the future, this new version
reflects on narrow-minded disability discrimination and English nationalism of the early 21st century.
The story is set in 2032, at an annual event where suitors must find the “perfect” partner or face deportation.
seems usual #Owellian distortion of reality
saying our view is #WrongThink etc.
Bartholomew Abominations is part of the BBC season Exploring Disability Through Art.
Part of BBC’s special progs for the 25th anniversary of the Disability Discrimination Act.
A transcript of the drama will be available on BBC Radio 4 website on broadcast.

R4 8pm is all about Nazis
Claiming that religion is old hat and that now we see the world through the prism of anti-Nazism.
Loads of guests in the prog
but look at the last one
“Black Lives Matter activist Imarn Ayton about Churchill”
Nazism became the reference point for good and evil; how fictional portraits such as Sauron, Darth Vader and Voldermort echo the notion of Hitler;
and now no visual image packs the same emotional punch as a swastika.

In Pakistan this Christian girl was kidnapped, forced to convert and raped at the age of 13 (shockingly old for the religion of paedophilia).
She escaped, rejected islam, and is now receiving death threats for apostasy. (Who said muslims don’t have a sense of humour?)
I’m afraid you’re on your own Maira.

In the conclusion they speculate
#1 It may have come with migrants from China
#2 That it caused WW2
cos Woodrow Wilson wanted soft peace terms for Germany so that they would prosper
.. but in the middle of talks he got Spanish Flu
and when he came back to the talks he caved in to Britain/France.
And those harsh term later gave Hitler cause to fight back.
That vid could have been watched by medics as a primer for Covid
However a couple of differences
It seems much more severe
It affects youth more than it effects old
but it is interesting it’s clear a lot of people never get it
In a base of 45K, 15K get it and most of them die.
The prog didn’t pick up on the way 30K didn’t get it .
They claimed Pittsburgh steel mills had the heaviest death rate
and speculated about dirty air among a series of factors like hostel bed sharing.
Note today strangely Covid seems to affect smokers less than non-smokers.
