Free Speech feels under greater threat than ever before . Non ‘approved ‘ thinking or comments can get an entire website removed from easy access . Some think this site is a target for such treatment . It would be good to get ideas from users how the work of the Biased BBC website could continue should enemies of free speech succeed .

Anyway one YouTube group , Marti Blagborough , visited the York Covid test center ,

Of course the BBC not being real journalists can’t even tell this simple story properly, for some reason missing out the YouTube angle ,..

A man who threw away a laptop hard drive containing bitcoin he believes is now worth about £210m wants his council to let him search for it in landfill.

Don’t the BBC have any technical ‘experts’ to check the crap written by so called journalists? Harddrives do not hold the bitcoins. This man has infact lost his harddrive that had his bitcoin wallet password on it. If he could remember his password he could recover his bitcoins from any Internet connected computer in the world.

Impeachment being sought to stop Trump walking 2024 should at least be explored as a possible motive. I cant provide a source so take the following with a huge pinch of salt. There is a suggestion that the 2016 election had a 3% fix in place for the Dems, hence the total shock when Trump was elected.
Anyway with the Dems in control of nearly everything America should be a land of milk and honey in a couple of years.

Maybe not the biggest issue in the world, but symptomatic of the BBC’s attitude towards older people. I’ve just fired this off to the BBC regarding Radio 2’s Pick Of The Pops –

“It appears that like the rest of the BBC, this show has stopped catering for older people. I can’t remember the last time there was a chart featured from the 60s. Indeed it is becoming increasingly rare to even get a chart from the 70s. Of the ten charts currently available to listen to on BBC Sounds there are none from the 60s and only two from the 70s and they are both from 1979, the end of the decade. Neither are there any plans to feature the 60s and 70s over the next two Saturdays according to your upcoming shows list.

Please tell me if this is deliberate policy to sideline older listeners who like these charts so I can stop wasting my time tuning in.”

One vessel I inspected in Hull Docks was a coal carrier.30,000 Tonnes of coal all the way from Vietnam, loaded 50kg at a time by local Labour in baskets, up one gangway, tip load in hold, down another gangway. I was told by the chief it took 3 weeks to load, 24 hours a day. Then sail to the UK, taking a month. The coal was destined for Drax power station. It must surely have been cheaper to dig it out of the ground, 5 miles from Drax. Bloody climate clowns.

Belated appendix to As I See It’s excellent newspaper review:
The Telegraph, Times and Financial Times have pictures on their front pages of US troops (from the National Guard) in the Capitol and supposedly guarding Congress. Most of them appear to be sleeping while a couple of them in the Telegraph photo are looking at the mobile phones. The picture is supposed to tell me that President Trump is a bad man and he is encouraging, inciting even, Republican voters with weapons to storm the Capitol and invade Congress.

Maybe I am biased but those three pictures give me a different message. In the DT photo, the Congress House leader Steny Hoyer, with aides or other Congressmen, is walking past these troops lolling about. The message I take from that picture is different to the one the MSM – and the BBC, especially – would probably like me to take from it, the one I outlined above in italics.

The message I get is the supreme disrespect of those National Guardsmen and National Guardswomen toward the Democrat Congressman and House Leader. Far fetched? Stretching a point? Being silly?

OK, replace Steny Hoyer with the President or the man who will become President if nothing changes before next Wednesday. Those troops would be on their feet, standing to attention, weapons at hand and probably saluting. Maybe a Sergeant or Platoon Commander was being delinquent in not alerting and rousing his soldiers? Or was there a small protest going on by a small section of the US military, albeit the National Guard?

    What do you think?

They ‘keep moving the goal-posts’. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-55645396 See para 3. “But the number soon began to rise and many cases have since been linked to the new highly infectious variant of Covid-19 first identified in the UK.”

That same Covid variant has been credited – by the BBC and others in the media – to Brazil in March last year and, more recently, to South Africa. As other examples of this lack of precision, I include wobbling between precise Covid and imprecise coronavirus, imprecise SARS-Cov-2 and precise Covid-19 or Covid-20, deaths with Covid and deaths directly due to Covid, R-rate all important and then never mentioned for weeks on end, etc., etc..

My exposure to science was dominated by my Physics teacher at A level. He used to rail about the GCSEs that were just about to be imposed on 16 year olds. He moaned about the lack of precision that those examinations would have. If he was asking questions of his class, he would expect precision in our answers and also in our written work.

Wobbling this way and that, as the BBC do in their Covid reporting and with the statistics thereof, would not be acceptable to him.

or mutate into something less contagious and/or less deadly

        kinda like they tend too

The “new variant” which the media frightens all you bed wetters to death with has been around since before September. The real problem with all this is that nobody knows who to believe and most of us are pretty sure that the govt is selective in what it tells us and the media generally is complicit in that.

          “before September. ” …since Semptember ?

I think you can only guess where variant originate from
cos of the place where they take hold
There is always a chance that the bloke who first got it in that place could have brought it in a plane from somewhere else.

I don’t think it obvious that mutations just get more deadly
eg a version that spreads easily but has a mild effect would cause a lot of people to become immune very quickly.

New variants of flue happen all the time. Also with over a thousand people in the NHS dying every day since it started. It means that the BBC could have produced alarmist propaganda by going into NHS hospitals in London and filmed ten people dying every day since 1948.

The most important factor is the daily death rate compared to a flue epidemic. Last week I thought it was double that of a flue epidemic. But on deeper analysis, someone pointed out that SAGE use tricks like carrying over weekend figures to the following Monday.

I note that one sister has been brainwashed by listening to a lot of alarmism on Radio 2. But another sees through the propaganda, calls the situation bizarre, and agrees that its just a new type of flue epidemic. That’s because she says she is to busy to listen to the radio, and hasn’t got a telly to watch the DVD I gave her for Xmas. But her job involves visiting lots of people in the real world of Lockdown.

What’s the point in killing your host, who then can’t spread you around
If we had gone for herd immunity in the summer, this new firm would have never evolved and we’d be back to normal by now
I blame the lockdown zealots and furlough giro claimants for the current outbreak

          Why?

          Good grief.

After billions of years of evolution, why haven’t germs recognized that to kill their host is to commit suicide? They have. Have you ever had the common cold? Did you die? No? That’s evolution.

Every now and then a disease becomes so dangerous that it kills the host. If the disease is able to spread to another host before the first host dies, then it is not too lethal to exist. Evolution cannot make it less lethal so long as it can still spread. If a hypothetical disease eradicates its only host, both will indeed go extinct. The strain of the Black Death plague (Yersinia pestis) from the 14th century was too virulent and is now extinct, with modern strains [subspecies, like breeds of dog or varieties of crops] of the bacteria producing less devastating symptoms (although nothing is stopping another deadly strain from appearing again). Extinction is a part of evolution. There is no goal in evolution, so if a creature evolves a trait that drives it to extinction, so be it.

As others have stated, many of the deadly human diseases are non-lethal animal diseases: there are other hosts. The disease evolved to infect other animals and not kill them, but in humans it either kills the host or dies itself and does not get spread. The animal is the disease reservoir. Even if all humans were vaccinated against such a disease, we’d need to vaccinate the animal reservoir too in order to eradicate the disease, which is impractical if not impossible. (Smallpox had no reservoir, so we eliminated it successfully.) Humans are also sometimes a dead-end host, where the disease evolved by chance to infect us but not survive through us.

Note too that humans are also evolving. Death by disease is part of the process: not all people infected with Black Death died, and the survivors thus spread their genes. Certain immunity genes are more prevalent in once plague-affected areas: 10% of Europeans are immune to HIV, thought to be a side effect of the genes that helped their ancestors survive plague.

Again, evolution has no plan or direction. It is a process that makes mistakes.

The talk about the UK, South Africa, and Brazil Covid variants gets muddled
It’s said they have similar effects ..eg. increase the spread.
And sometimes they have physical similarities
“The South African one has one of the same mutations as the UK one, plus two more that scientists think may interfere more with vaccine effectiveness”
The Brazil one has three key mutations in the spike protein that make it similar to the South Africa one”
“The Brazil variant emerged in July”

TV news is by it’s nature rubbish and full of people jabbering away as they push agendas.

    @SecPompeo US government account
We suspended funding to UNRWA, which is riddled with waste, fraud & concerns of support to terrorism. UNRWA is not a refugee agency; it’s estimated <200,000 Arabs displaced in 1948 are still alive and most others are not refugees by any rational criteria.

Taxpayers deserve basic truths: most Palestinians under UNRWA’s jurisdiction aren’t refugees, and UNRWA is a hurdle to peace. America supports peace and Palestinian human rights; UNRWA supports neither. It’s time to end UNRWA’s mandate.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East is a UN agency that supports the relief and human development of Palestinian refugees
