Midweek Thread 14 July 2021

Somebody the other day said that when they watched the BBC news they wanted to hear the news . But now what they get is a BBC campaign for various forms of ‘social justice ‘ – a series of woke campaigns and biased left wing propaganda . No wonder the viewing figures are falling quickly . End the BBC .

    BBC News

Chris has been stalked for six years. The Metropolitan Police said a man was arrested at his home address last year.

However Chris says she is not aware of an arrest relating to her experience, and disputes that she has been provided with a dedicated officer.

Chris is easy to see. If unaware. Maybe said officer is also addressing nasty tweets to footballers pr accounts and Springster’s specialist unit?

    Unbelievable.
The government are to approve GPs prescribing fresh fruit and veg. That’s pretty bad straight off the bat.

On Toady, needless to say, we get an interview from some woman saying how she can only afford processed meals and how she would love to make fresh meals for her family, and the kids would really appreciate a roast dinner, as it would create good memories.
She didn’t sound to me like a great cook waiting to be unleashed.
Oh, did I not mention? She has FOUR kids, aged 8-18. Could there be a slight clue there on the reasons for her claimed plight?
Needless to say, no hard questions were asked.

Immediately after, or was it before, an interview with the Jamaican environment minister who insists developing countries need £150 bn from developed countries for climate change support.

The BBC. Guaranteed to advocate new ways of plundering your taxes for its favourite narratives.

Whilst generally opposed to unnecessary government interference in daily life, here’s a suggestion. They have introduced legislation to ban junk food advertising and there are now calls to tax salt and sugar. So how about banning the promotion of obesity by the BBC and other media? The BBC misleadingly use the phrase ‘Body Positivity’. No. There is nothing remotely positive about promoting grossly obese wimmin’, setting themselves up for a lifetime of health problems such as strokes, type 2 diabetes, coronary heart disease, increased risk of breast and bowel cancers. They are things that put pressure on the NHS, and the rest of us suffer the consequences through higher taxes. So-called fat shaming may be wrong and there can be hormonal and genetic causes for being overweight in some people, but actively promoting and encouraging it should be off the table.

TOADY Watch #2 – what a shame Rick Nobinson is so science ignorant

The Big Interview with Henry Dimbleby has wealthy high-earning Henry wanting the food scientists who work for food manufacturers to re-formulate foods so that sugar taxes and salt taxes will not make those foods that people buy cost more. It is all to save the NHS.

We’ve been there and done that Henry, that is so last year. Do keep up.

Unfortunately Rick Nobinson, who has already been alerted by a vox pop from a mother of four children, earlier in the programme (a clip I only heard in repeat) to some food science completely forgets it. What Dimbleby wants is more chemicals in foodstuffs that people buy. I wonder if he has shares in chemical companies? I thought he was against processed food?

Nick really should have pinned Dimbleby to wall on this obvious contradiction but he did not. Ah well. Hopefully HMG will file Dimbleby’s report carefully in what one of my former colleagues called ‘File 13’ a.k.a. the WPB.

Doesn’t Henry understand that there’s a race to be ‘organic’ these days, with fewer chemicals?

I don’t buy the stuff, as it is overpriced, tastes worse and a new ‘woke’ icon, and, for example, non-ferric slug pellets don’t work, and I’m damned if I’m going round the garden every night, emptying beer traps.

Of course, as the awful bbbc has got rid of real, normal gardeners on GQT, they’re again shooting themselves in the foot, which they’re very good at.

    BBC London news.

A report that many Londoners are suffering from Asthma.
This is put down to pollution.
For the whole story, there was a film of road traffic, queues, jams, exhaust pipes.

Not mentioned is that car pollution across almost all categories is massively down over the last 20 years.

    Try this
    https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/air-quality-statistics/concentrations-of-particulate-matter-pm10-and-pm25#trends-in-concentrations-of-pm25-in-the-uk-2009-to-2020

So this is not news from the BBC. It is their editorial narrative.
In other words, business as usual.

Sluff, they – the BBC – are helping Mayor Khan (not Meir Kahane) with his fake publicity campaign that London air is dangerous. A lot of the so-called pollution in London air is actually dust. That’s right dust. It is a combination of building dust and skin particles from the huge numbers of people who would (in normal times) travel in to London every day. That enables the Mayor to increase charges for cars to be driven in the centre of London and, in October 2021, all over London.

London is not significantly polluted. If it was, I would definitely know about it.

Does the Labour Party never learn? It would seem not…

Yesterday at PMQs, the increasingly odious Sir Kier Starmer, suggested that it was the fault of ministers like Priti Patel that a few black England players received racial abuse on Twitter. Honestly, this creature should live under a rock, he gives me the shivers.

The England team spent the entire tournament propagandising the cause of race hustling Marxists, BLM, against the express wishes of the vast majority of supporters. Priti merely pointed out that the kneeling was gesture politics. Actually, I think it’s a lot worse than that, but…

It now seems to have transpired that there were 105 abusive “tweets”, 70 came from countries in the middle east and only 5 have been traced to the UK. Ye gods, when you compare this number to the population of our country it’s less than miniscule.

You know, I really love it when an odious little creep like Starmer takes the moral high ground. Does this creature not remember his own criminal inaction over the industrial scale grooming, raping and sometimes murdering of underage white girls by Muslim paedo gangs? He did nothing. It was embarrassing and inconvenient. He sat on his hands. This wasn’t just drunken idiots being rude, these were groups of grown men predating on young girls.

Are the BBC and the rest of the despicably useless MSM likely to remind him?

TOADY Watch #3 – two questions the BBC and its presenters should always ask

Whenever someone on a programme or in a report is advocating higher taxes, especially indirect and stealth taxes: How much do you earn? What is your net worth in £sterling terms?

Whenever someone advocates the sort of taxes Henry Dimbleby was talking about this morning on TOADY those questions flash into my mind. Why? Because I know how the economy and the minds of wealthy people and high earners work. They resent paying Income Tax (especially the higher rates) and National Insurance. They want to get richer. To earn and take home more of their earnings. They are happy with inflation and like it because unlike those at the bottom of the ladder, inflation will allow them to buy appreciating assets and pay for them eventually with devalued money.

The time is long overdue for fiscal and economic reform in the UK.

You reckon, Fed? We can only hope. It did not work for drinks. I’m not a big fizzy drink consumer (I have some cans from a bulk pack that date back to 2018!) but I do like a hot Ribena sometimes, especially in winter. Ribena adjusted their juice concentrate to avoid the sugar tax. I find it unpleasant now.

Same thing with an own-brand yogurt from a well-known store. They went from a pleasant low fat fruit yogurt to a Zero Fat fruit yogurt – the price went up(!) – and it was just like the ‘new’ Ribena.

Experts have told the BBC that the government should commit to a policy of ‘Zero Racism’ by 2030. Responding to reports that only a tiny number of racist Tweets following England’s match against Italy could be traced back to the UK, an unnamed expert stated “The numbers do not matter. Even if there was only one, it is still one too many. If we have one racist in the country, then we are all racists. Except enlightened people like myself, of course.”

Several bold initiatives to achieve Zero Racism have been proposed. One involves defining racism as a disease similar to Covid-19, enabling it to be tracked by an enhanced NHS App. A person who had attended anti-racism training would have a status of ‘Good Citizen’ in the App, alongside their vaccination status and Personal Carbon Footprint record. This would entitle them to travel, purchase food in supermarkets, obtain medical treatments and other benefits.

A government spokesman responded that there were no plans to implement such a scheme. However, he did acknowledge that a £5 billion untendered contract had been awarded to an unnamed American company to perform a feasibility study, and that Baroness Dildo Harding had been appointed to run the project.

Privilege is a rare experience to be savoured, and yet a question unlikely to be asked of Andy Burnham in his next appearance on the BBC is ‘…and did you enjoy the privileged experience?’

That experience was at the £186m Manchester Arts Venue – £76m over-budget, three years late and described as ‘..still a building site.’

What the eager, expectant and gum-booted audience were privileged to experience was ‘A special installation, featuring dozens of glowing tents….’ which is just one of the artistic extravaganzas planned to re-draw our cultural map.

Whether Mr Burnham was lucky enough to be invited is a grey area, although there’s little doubt that his subs to the Guardian and Independent would qualify him to join others of our like-minded elite with the finely honed sensibilities required to appreciate art at its finest.

Black Lives Matter has just expressed total support for the Cuban Communist Dictatorship as they go about crushing opposition from deprived citizens enduring immense physical and mental pain due to their draconian measures and inability to look after their citizens.

In a ridiculous statement, BLM tries to point the finger of blame at the US for employing embargos on the Country.

So there you go all you “Kneelers” is this what you want for the World. A bunch of violent thugs running things and smashing any opposition with obscene violence to hang on to power?

You all have brains, use them!

In any other free world BLM would become a proscribed anti-society organisation and so would Antifa. What is it going to take to make politicians wake up and see the danger and act?

And what is it going to take for all those duped “liberals” to open their eyes and use their intelligence instead of trying to capture woke brownie points? Every time there is another “Kneeling” episode it waters down any opposition and this is exactly what BLM want while they silently gain power.

Once you have opened Pandoras box, you will not be able to close it!

The famous words from a man about to be “cancelled” come to mind, “Forgive them, they know not what they do…”.

Black Lives Matter scrubbed a page on its website this week that disparaged the “Western-prescribed nuclear family structure,” prompting a former NFL lineman to blast critics who accused him of previously misinterpreting the organization’s incendiary message.

The group, whose co-founder Patrisse Cullors has described herself and fellow co-founder Alicia Garza as “trained Marxists,” removed a page titled “What We Believe” that included its public policy positions as well as describing itself as part of the “global Black family” — a change first reported Monday by the Washington Examiner.

For this claim, like any others we fact-check, the burden of proof is on the speaker. Come Monday we start on a whole new weary culture war. spurred on by the MSM

    Mask or no Mask!

I fully expect this to become the backbone of next weeks MSM news coverage.

We will of course only get the side of the story that the MSM and in particular the BBC want us all to hear.

No doubt there will be scrummages on trains and in stores where neanderthal people who have discarded their masks will be making life hell for those who want to continue wearing them forever.

I predict stories of belligerent non-mask wearers raging at mask-wearers, the former will be mostly white males, the latter probably mainly females or Jeremy Vine.

The BBC will probably run a special “Have you been abused for wearing a mask?” which will be swamped by replies from keyboard warriors wanting to have a gripe and 5 minutes of fame for the flimsiest of reasons.

It goes without saying that they will all of course have vulnerable relatives etc.

In my view, if you want to wear a mask all day then go-ahead, if you are worried about contacting non-mask wearers then keep a distance.

As for the mask shedders, go-ahead, be polite and thoughtful, give other people space and walk away from anyone trying to goad you for your decisions.

Summing up Non mask Wearers will include:

    a) Brexiteers
    b) Trump Supporters
    c) Football Supporters
    d) Conservatives
    e) Racists
    f) Sun Readers

    While Mask wearers will include:

    a) Global and European Citizens
    b) Health Service Professionals
    c) Educators
    d) Socialists
    e) Carers
    f) Guardian Readers

This is still (just) a free Country so it’s up to you!

… Unless of course Boris bottles it and turns the key again.

Meanwhile to set the scene, the WHO have just issued a grim warning about even more deadly variants possibility heading our way, not to mention the massive release by the Medics of loads of new Covid alert “pings” as soon as they heard of Boris’s plan, how convenient!

First item was about Right wing terrorism.
It’s supposed to be the biggest terrorist danger now and many are being radicalised on the Internet, some as young as 13.

The 3 being interviewed were talking about right wing attacks and in general how bad this was.
One might have not been so frightened but the link was so poor I couldn’t understand what he was saying.

There was a huge miss by Michelle.
Why did she not ask “how many deaths were caused by right wing terrorists in the UK during (for example) the last 5 years and how many were caused by other terrorists such as isis”

I think there have been no deaths by right wing terrorists, I think they are totally over the top concerning any right wing terrorist threat and it was a waste of an interview.

Do they compare leaving a pork pie near a mosque (1 x right wing terrorist attack) to bombing children at a pop concert, also counted as 1 attack?

Weak interview Michelle. You could have done much better.

    Regarding masks.

We all know the common blue mask is just about useless.
The masks used in hospitals are the ones that actually work but they are expensive.

If the government or shops want us to wear masks they should supply them, the expensive ones which work, not the flimsy blue useless things.
That’s if they are serious about the masks being effective.

Those saying it’s to protect other people are playing on peoples guilt and good manners.
They say if someone comes onto the bus and is coughing and spluttering all over you, then a mask will protect you a bit.

    How often does that happen.

The ones that work only last for maybe half an hour.
Will shops have thousands of them to hand out as you go in?
The blue ones are just placebos and may give a false sense of security. They could even be dangerous if people think they actually protect them (unless you’re being drenched in phlegm and spittle from someone with full blown covid, who has come onto the bus and made a beeline for you)

Last year I bought one of the masks that work (for my sister) and I believe it cost about £30.
    A single use mask.
Don’t know what they cost now but surely still too expensive for normal people’s everyday use.

The human lungs expect clean air and this it is NOT!

      Blurb :
As we emerge from a global pandemic that has turned our world upside down,
David Olusoga explores the hidden history of the nurses, doctors and health workers who, for more than 70 years, have been coming to Britain from overseas to serve in the NHS.
      (from 1951 ?)
Without them the NHS would have been in danger of collapse
      – not least during the current COVID crisis
      – but from the very start the story of this beloved British institution has been intertwined with one of the most divisive social and political issue of the age, immigration.

The people who came to this country to work in the NHS have found themselves fighting battles they neither sought nor expected.

Today, more than 13 per cent of the 1.2 million people who work for the NHS are from overseas, representing 200 different nationalities,
and in England and Wales more than 40 per cent can claim minority ethnic heritage (cherrypicking)
, making the NHS the most diverse of all British institutions

The programme gives voice to the moving and often raw experiences of nurses from the Irish Republic, the Caribbean and the Philippines, GPs and surgeons from India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka and paramedics from Central Europe, as well as to the British-born children and grandchildren of immigrants who have found themselves helping and healing with one hand while fending off the sharp end of discrimination and racism with the other.
(like no white British person never faced any unfairness or discrimination)
Ultimately, their stories say as much about perseverance, dedication and the overcoming of obstacles as they do about discrimination and prejudice.

      https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000xwz6

So immigration or foreigners have had no negatives for the UK
No Irish people coming here to get abortions
No Nigerians & other foreigners coming here to give birth
      and never paying
No foreign born nurses /doctors screwing up cos they didn’t know the language enough to communicate 100%
or getting involved in sex abuse.
      etc.
