You mean the gas price, down 70p per therm approximately from its all time high? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business/market-data The details are on your very own web-site, BBC. £3.5billion per year for not doing a good job? I think it is the BBC that ought to be going bust.

Sure, Fed, it is a madness. And the fear thing is, I think, really significant.

We have rejected the God of the Bible, the God of Judao-Christianity, and seem to be turning into a pagan society where we have to have all these fears. Lots of fears, together with witch doctors to shake some bones, slice open a previously alive chicken or somesuch and examine the entrails and proclaim whether these pagan forces have been sufficient to turn the warming into cold.

If ever we needed a spiritual revival to turn us back to the God of creation it is now. Either that or the Lord’s return to start some righteous rule over this earth. “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they will be filled.” (Matthew 5v6)

        I’m getting mighty hungry.

For first prize I nominate Archbishop Justin Welby. He has come to the conclusion that not doing anything on Climate Change will be worse then the Holocaust.

But he has been upped by the Chief Pontificate in Rome, The Pope Frances. He pontificates that it will be worse then WWII.

The truth is that this will always happen – to a more or lesser degree – the domination of the mind whether by the BBC or Mark Zuckerberg will continue …

It was always the women, and above all the young ones, who were the most bigoted adherents of the Party, the swallowers of slogans, the amateur spies and nosers-out of unorthodoxy. But this particular girl gave him the impression of being more dangerous than most. Once when they passed in the corridor she gave him a quick sidelong glance which seemed to pierce right into him and for a moment had filled him with black terror. The idea had even crossed his mind that she might be an agent of the Thought Police. That, it was true, was very unlikely. Still, he continued to feel a peculiar uneasiness, which had fear mixed up in it as well as hostility, whenever she was anywhere near him.

The Great Leap Forward (Second Five Year Plan) of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) was an economic and social campaign led by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) from 1958 to 1962. Chairman Mao Zedong launched the campaign to reconstruct the country from an agrarian economy into a communist society through the formation of people’s communes.

Mao decreed increased efforts to multiply grain yields and bring industry to the countryside. Local officials were fearful of Anti-Rightist Campaigns and competed to fulfill or over-fulfill quotas based on Mao’s exaggerated claims, collecting “surpluses” that in fact did not exist and leaving farmers to starve.

Higher officials did not dare to report the economic disaster caused by these policies, and national officials, blaming bad weather for the decline in food output, took little or no action. The Great Leap resulted in tens of millions of deaths, with estimates ranging between 15 and 55 million deaths, making the Great Chinese Famine the largest famine in human history.

Tommy Robinson is trending due to ripples from a ROAR incident
He treated 4 children including his son to a new Luton restaurant
.. The restaurant accepted his booking, seated him, but then came over and said they wouldn’t serve his group.

ROAR applies I guess just like that landlord had the right to shout at Starmer when he tried to use his pub for a photo op.
But If Lammy, Diane Abbott, Ash Sarkar took children to a restaurant and were refused service what would happen ?

I think is up to the courts to punish people
It shouldn’t be up to individual businesses
rather they should provide universal service.

As ever the rule is that racism is wrong
but falsely labelling people racist is equally so.
TR has always had friends of mixed races and believed in racial equality.
So that and calling him the current head of the EDL is smear
    The 14 min video https://youtu.be/-IZrpNQCYpw

TR tried to explain it’s not fair to discriminate cos then people will retaliate tit-for-tat
And sure enough his supporters did then add to negative reviews

Dover, Ukip are the party whose disgusting party officials got rid of two democratically elected leaders in a row. First Gerard Batten, then Richard Braine. Then they were left with no political talent at all and have had a few light-weight flops as leaders since but as a party they now amongst the political minnows, beyond redemption and its dwindling band should only be an object of pity.
Reform is possibly the best option at this moment in time, and until something better comes along it is worth voting for.
As you know there is a by-election coming up in Old Bexley and Sidcup where Richard Tice is standing for ‘Reform’ . The Tories are expected to hold the seat but there is an outside chance that Tice can swing it if he can capitalise on Batty Boris’s crazy policies.
I hope he intends to launch a proper campaign, that is door to door footslogging etc. and not just having his name on the list and hoping the media will do it for him. Anyway perhaps somebody on here lives in the constituency and can keep us informed?
In the future though, there will be a need for a coming together of the various populist movements and parties. Boris and his Tories, with only a few exceptions are taking the country on a path from which there will be no return.
On a lighter note I see that the Tories have chosen their candidate for Old Bexley and his name is Louie French! I don’t think there is anything fishy about that, but it is rather unfortunate timing.

So I would like to know, precisely, the cost of all these green measures without the weasel words that “business will step in”

That is the cost to taxpayers, there is no such thing as government money, it is taxpayers money.

Since when has business been a green charity ?

we pay income tax, national insurance, we are now told we will alll eventually have to buy brand new cars: electric or hybrids at least.

Many are paying employers and employees national insurance on IR35 temporary contracts.

Car insurance life insurance, home insurance , broadband, regulary replacing computers with window faults / critical errors (try doing anything not online nowadays)

We are told we have to pay hundreds a month to ensure we have enough to live on when retired.

We are now blackmailed daily on TV that we have to pay for our own funerals, and life insurance for our dependants.

    Is there anything left ??

Those retired and students who pay little if any tax are happy now to demand for us to pay for new boilers for all UK houses , to insulate every house in the UK, new cladding for buildings, and now to pay for all forests around the world, and pay for apparently unlimited illegal immigrants etc etc etc etc

And how many at the bbc also demanding all this are actively minimising their income tax ?

Government forces people to buy stuff as they know that people’s innate common sense tells them not to.

Electric cars are going to be a disaster as electricity has to come from generation somewhere, and transported to where it is required. Neither the supply or transmission lines exist.

Electric cars will come to a standstill, and then Hydrogen cars will be forced on us. They too will come to nothing.

Industrial collapse, poverty around the corner, law and order breaks down The first industrialised nation of the world will lead the way to a post industrial world of poverty, cold and hunger..

But the poorer parts of the world, which relies in the West, will starve. We will see starving children once more, but now in full 3D.

Where were the fixers like in the presidential election ?

equating the terms ‘P**i’, which is a long-established derogatory term with a history of racist usage, and ‘Zimbo’, which is generally held to be an abbreviation akin to Aussie or Kiwi without pejorative association, is likely to raise eyebrows
(Actually Kiwi is a nickname not an abbreviation)

Yorkshire Cricket racism report ruled Azeem Rafiq being called ‘P**i’ was ‘banter’
The panel said it “was not reasonable for Azeem to have been offended”
      https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/yorkshire-racism-report-ruled-azeem-rafiq-being-called-p-i-was-banter-1286449

(Claim he was made to cry)
At least one Yorkshire player admitted to regularly using the term ‘P**i’ when talking to Azeem Rafiq, according to the report into racism at the club. But he was cleared of wrongdoing on the basis that it was perceived as, what the report says was, friendly, good-natured “banter” between the two players.

The player also admitted to telling other people “don’t talk to him [Rafiq], he’s a P**i”, asking “is that your uncle?” when they saw bearded Asian men and saying “does your dad own those?” in reference to corner shops
(The don’t talk to him bit is nasty surely ?)

Despite admitting recalling that Rafiq broke down in tears at one point, the player insisted he had no idea he was causing offence and would have stopped if Rafiq had asked

Sadly I think that this government decided that it needed the BBC to scare us ( nudge us) into compliance re Covid and has now realised that it again needs the foul corporation to scare us even more about climate change. I suspect that these two factors will mean the government doesn’t take action against the BBC.
GBN is trying to offer a little balance to the climate change debate but it may be silenced by Ofcom for doing so , at the promptings of the liberal leftists and also of this government .
Why Boris has taken on the Green agenda to such an extreme degree baffles me. If the government tries to impose even a quarter of the measures necessary to get to net zero they will lose millions of votes. Perhaps Boris calculates that no matter how extreme on climate he becomes Labour will always seek to be even more lunatic and so he is offering the least bad option. A high risk strategy.
If ever there was a time to start a party which was sceptical about climate change , pro British and strong on defending our culture and our borders , this is it. There is gaping hole to the right of this government waiting to be filled and millions of votes to be had. Just like Zemmour is doing in France.

“TV channels and radio stations aimed at minority ethnic communities are highly valued by viewers and listeners, according to a new study published today by Ofcom, although certain content gives audiences cause for concern.
Today’s report is the first of its kind. We spoke to more than 160 people from Indian, Bangladeshi, Pakistani, Black African and Arabic-speaking backgrounds to better understand how they think and feel about programmes that directly target their cultural or religious communities – and how their expectations differ from other mainstream channels and stations. Focusing primarily on our rules around harm, offence, hatred and abuse, we also asked participants what they expect from broadcasters, Ofcom and content regulation.
The people we spoke to told us how minority ethnic TV and radio services provide a sense of belonging, and help connect them with their cultural roots, faith and linguistic heritage. They also provide an opportunity for shared inter-generational family viewing.”

One reason: Loudoun County Public Schools sought to conceal the rape of a 15-year-old female student by a male student wearing a skirt in the girls’ bathroom.

Virginia Democrats Voted to Allow Schools to Refrain from Reporting Sexual Battery in 2020

Democrats in the Virginia General Assembly voted for — and Governor Ralph Northam signed — a law allowing schools to refrain from reporting instances of sexual battery, stalking, violation of a protective order, and violent threats occurring on school property in 2020.

§ 22.1-279.3:1 of Virginia code had required that these, among a number of other major crimes, be reported to law enforcement if they occurred on campus. Democrats insisted that misdemeanors be extirpated from reporting requirements in House Bill 257, replacing the word “criminal” with “felony” in the code.

In a stunning exchange between legislators in the House of Delegates last year, Todd Gilbert, the Republican Leader in the body, asked Delegate Mike Mullen “did I hear correctly that you would not have to report sexual battery to law enforcement any longer if we accept these amendments?”

The contentious back-and-forth has taken on new relevance a year and a half later, after a bombshell story from the Daily Wire alleged that Loudoun County Public Schools sought to conceal the rape of a 15-year-old female student by a male student wearing a skirt in the girls’ bathroom. The facts of what happened next are disputed somewhat.

While the father of the victim claims that he was told upon his arrival at the school that everything pertaining to the incident would be handled “in house,” Loudoun County Public Schools released a statement that alleges that the “Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office was contacted within minute of receiving the initial report” on the day of the attack. For its part, the Sheriff’s Office says that “an LCSO School Resource Officer was notified by Stone Bridge High School staff of a possible sexual assault. A thorough investigation and evidentiary analysis was conducted over the course of several weeks by the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit.”

That said, the school’s attempt to push through the scandal without alerting — and in fact while actively misinforming the public — in an effort to change school policy to allow biological males into female restrooms and locker rooms would have been made even easier had the culprit’s behavior not crossed the arbitrary line into sexual assault. At a school board meeting on transgender guidance held less than a month after the attack, Loudoun County Public Schools superintendent Scott Ziegler announced that “to my knowledge, we don’t have any record of assaults occurring in our restrooms.”

As predicted, in a tight race Greg Youngkin has beaten Terry McAuliffe by a couple of points in a disaster for the Democrat party, however that is not how the media (or at least those on the left) are playing it.

The cause of the defeat is a simple one, it’s Socialism an evil ideology of failure which destroys everything it touches and is the root cause of the Democrat failure to hold onto Virginia.

The media aren’t saying this of course. The defeat is apparantly because of Bidens sagging approval rating. This is a crazy reason! Why are his approval rating sagging? Without examining this they believe they can hide the peoples hatred for the policies of hate the Democrats have been imposing on the people.

Lets not forget Boris’s admiration for the hard left Biden and his disgust at the conservative Donald Trump – along with other conservative leaders. They want Boris to implement the same politics of Hate which Biden is imposing regardless of the peoples disapproval.

So watch out for the spin cover up and disinformation from the leftist media as the Republican party and Donald Trump steam back to popularity because that is something they cannot stomach.

And right on cue here comes the BBC biased reporting of the Virginia election with bias right from the get go.

The BBC titles it a “Shock Win” for the Republicans. A shock for them perhaps but everyone else was expecting it !

There were three elections, Governor, Lieutenant governer, and Attourney General and Republicans won all of them, however the BBC has found some apparant acceptable news in all the buirning wreckage.

“In more potential good news for Republicans in the state, their candidate, former US Marine Winsome Sears, is tipped to become the first black female lieutenant governor of the state, which was the former seat of the pro-slavery Confederacy during the American Civil War.”

The reasons the BBC gives for the victory is predictably skewed.
“fought election on crime and the economy, as well as how schools handle race, gender and mask mandates”

No, this is not true! It was fought over CRT, the criminalising of parents using anti terror legislation for objecting to them driving a wedge between children at school.

Jess and Scott Smith are suing Loudoun County under Title IX provisions after their daughter, 15, was allegedly raped in a ‘gender fluid’ high school restroom

The alleged sexual assault is said to have taken place on May 28 at Stone Bridge High School in Leesburg, Virginia
The Smiths’ daughter told teachers that she was raped by a boy ‘wearing a skirt’ in the girls’ bathroom

On June 22, Loudoun County Schools Superintendent Scott Ziegler said there had been ‘no reports’ of sexual assaults involving transgender students

Scott Smith was at the June 22 meeting and exploded after hearing Ziegler say no such thing had been reported

Ziegler went further and said: ‘The predator transgender student or person simply does not exist’

There is a lot more to the story though that isn’t being told by a media so biased that truth which doesn’t fit the narrative is simply omitted.

Firstly the boy was probably mentally deficient in some way. The father having left and it being a one parent family the mother being pretty leisseiz faire over the sons behaviour and him being in serious trouble on many occasions which to be fair she does recognise.
She admits this is not a trans kid he is just screwed up and even at this point he lacks the capacity to realise he has done anything wrong despite it being explained to him, he still cannot grasp it.

It gets worse because this boy and the girl in question had consensual sex in that bathroom on several occasions without her complaining and it is unclear at what point teaching staff became aware of this.

So how much of the blame can be placed on a mentally deficient child is pretty much moot because it should never have happened in the first place, and whilst what he has done is a horrendous act, it should not be allowed to deflect the blame from the real perpetrators – the horrible Democrat Socialists who destroy everything they come into contact with.

The school board at first covered the whole thing up because they wanted to protect Socialism at all costs – not something we haven’t seen before after they covered up Pakistani child rape gangs and many other acts like it when it suited them.

Saint Obammessiah, a man who in the eyes of the leftist media can do nothing wrong and have refused to report the corruption in his administration and the egregious wrongs he did. He excelled himself this time though, by calling the parents of the victim as “fake outrage”, Obama called his stance ‘trumped-up culture wars’ and ‘fake outrage peddled by the right wing media.

What a nice man Barak Obama is ! It’s clear the Socialists don’t give a sh1t about the ordinary people and to them their pseudo religious ideology is all that matters to them.

“Global financial system will be rewired for net zero – Sunak”
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/world-59143787

Millions of deaths took place in China during the Great Leap, with estimates ranging between 15 and 55 million, making the Great Chinese Famine the largest famine in human history.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7]

Chief changes in the lives of rural Chinese people included the incremental introduction of mandatory agricultural collectivization. Private farming was prohibited, and those engaged in it were persecuted and labeled counter-revolutionaries. Restrictions on rural people were enforced through public struggle sessions and social pressure, although people also experienced forced labor.[8] Rural industrialization, while officially a priority of the campaign, saw “its development … aborted by the mistakes of the Great Leap Forward”.[9] The Great Leap was one of two periods between 1953 and 1976 in which China’s economy shrank.[10] Economist Dwight Perkins argues that “enormous amounts of investment produced only modest increases in production or none at all. … In short, the Great Leap was a very expensive disaster”.[11]

In 1959, Mao Zedong ceded day-to-day leadership to pragmatic moderates like Liu Shaoqi and Deng Xiaoping and the CCP studied the damage done at conferences in 1960 and 1962, especially at the “Seven Thousand Cadres Conference”. Mao did not retreat from his policies and instead blamed problems on bad implementation and “rightists” for opposing him. He initiated the Socialist Education Movement in 1963 and the Cultural Revolution in 1966 in order to remove opposition and re-consolidate his power. In addition, dozens of dams constructed in Zhumadian, Henan during the Great Leap Forward collapsed in 1975 (under the influence of Typhoon Nina) and resulted in the 1975 Banqiao Dam failure, with an estimated death toll between tens of thousands to 240,000.[12][13]

Ah… the new Lt. Governor of Virginia is a woman…. I’m thinking that she mightn’t be the sort of woman that the BBC endorses for some reason – d’ya reckon?

The Guardian will choke on that as well ? – I feel it’s fair to say?

The speed at which the news of the Republican anti-Biden election win in Virginia in the USA has vanished without trace from the BBC website is astonishing even by BBC standards.

    7am top story.

9am half way down the page, much smaller feature.

    11am gone!

This folks is the way democracy and truth works BBC (Kremlin) style!

Oh and the BBC hotline to the Guardian must have been in action as they also have buried the story now.

Plus the small leader about it half-way down the Independent website now clicks through to an ad for Virgin Media.

    In lockstep….
