Radio 4 running an item on sustainable food, they invite a ten year old spokesgirl on from Nestle who goes on about what great strides they are making in such things as labelling so we know how good or bad stuff is. (Apparently new regs coming in on labelling so we will soon know the difference between holy food and the devils stuff).
They followed up with a young man who could only have been a full on Vegan. “We must ensure that the new label codes give an accurate picture on sustainability” he whines “For instance, let’s take meat (huh-huh, dead Vegan giveaway straight away). “Even the most sustainable meat products fall well below other foodstuffs”
He quite obviously believes that ALL meat products are evil and can NEVER be seen as acceptable so whatever the new labelling does, meat must NEVER EVER be an acceptable food for mankind. But that argument would have to come from a position of animal welfare and NOT sustainability, the point of the broadcast.
I just do not buy into this beef beef by Vegans. The cow fart nonsense is just that, nonesense, just take a drive in the country and count how few grazing livestock you spot. It’s an infinitesimally tiny factor. Much more worrying to me is how much rice, avocados, and other non-native vegetation etc. etc. are being shipped half way round the World in mammoth ships and planes to feed all the VEGANS.
I even now see that a new fad is bamboo toilet paper, made no doubt in China and then shipped half way round the World for us to feel good when wiping our A***s at around twice the price of paper made from Northern trees. But it does have some cute cartoon Pandas on the packaging!

That is a damn good question.
The RSPCA have been turning blind eye for years, probably been told to leave it.
Halal meat should be in a separate, very clearly labelled section of a supermarket. Along with a description of what it means – like they have on cigarettes.
The fact it isn’t is an absolute disgrace. It’s illegal by being so cruel – but given dispensation on religious grounds.
It’s for the same reason as all the other ‘concessions’ for Muslims : if you go against any of their stone-age rules, they get very, very angry and the word ‘racists’ starts flying. And one of the tens of thousands of people on the watch list suddenly decides to become radicalised.

A long line of vehicles decorated with protest banners and flags have been seen coming out of Exeter Moto services and then heading onto the M5 today (February 5).
People have also been seen protesting on bridges and waving flags.
The protest is expected to head through Somerset towards Bristol, and at around 1pm protesters had stopped at a service station near Taunton.

An eyewitness who saw the convoy said: “There were loads of cars with Canadian flags and Great Britain flags. Loads of people were on the bridges with flags too.

One of the protesters in the convoy has confirmed to DevonLive that the protest is to campaign for freedom and human rights.

Crowdfunding platform GoFundMe, which is now caught up in controversy over its nixing of a fundraiser for the Canadian trucker protests, once promoted an appeal for the 2020 Seattle Capitol Hill Occupied Protest (CHOP.)
The platform on Friday announced that it had frozen the convoy’s official campaign, offering a justification that there was violence connected to the Freedom Convoy and the protest had turned into an occupation. The truckers are protesting Canada’s vaccine mandates.
However, despite its concern about “occupation,” in 2020 the platform not only allowed, but also gave its backing on social media to a fundraiser for a farmer working in the left-wing Seattle protest which occupied a six-block downtown area.
While the CHOP was initially heralded by liberal media outlets and politicians, the New York Times later reported on the experience of besieged business owners who endured the occupation and violence that accompanied it.
“Business crashed as the Seattle police refused to respond to calls to the area. Officers did not retake the region until July 1, after four shootings, including two fatal ones,” the Times reported.
Fox News reported at the time that crimes including shooting and assaults had taken place, that protesters had reportedly blocked police from responding to crimes and that the local police chief had said that 911 response times to reports of burglaries, rapes and other crimes had tripled in the vicinity.
