TWatO Watch #1 – the BBC are naive and stupid ….. and deliberately blind to Civil Servants deliberately hampering or even disobeying instructions just to make the Conservative Government look bad and to provide a Lame Labour Leader and his Opposition Front Bench an opportunity to make themselves look like a (unlikely) ‘Government in waiting’?
Now we know what many of us suspected. The BBC are naive and stupid. A Home Office Minister, standing in for the Home Secretary in the House made it quite clear to Labour (and the BBC – poor Auntie’s amnesia is very bad) that Ukrainian Refugees will be carefully vetted before bing allowed in to the UK. The dim BBC had completely forgotten Salisbury and naive assumed that Russia would not try to slip some FSB (used to be KGB) Operatives into the UK with a Novichok or two.
Yvette Cooper had also naively and stupidly assumed that the Russians wouldn’t think of doing anything like they – apparently – did almost four years ago to the very day. As for Starmer, the Lame Labour Leader was not to be seen or heard. Oh dear! Damien ‘Touching Knee’ Green was asked by the Montacutie to comment and he showed he was none too bright.
Disinformation stuff : I see Farage is trolled relentlessly by accounts accusing him of being a friend of Putin.

I check and the same photo is used by a lot of left wing websites

As might be expected – bbc coverage of this historic finding is difficult to find . Certainly it appears that ‘today’ isn’t reporting it – the yesterday in parliament ‘hasn’t covered it .

Zelensky was put in his position and has members of the opposition under house arrest and has shut down three TV stations that oppose him.
NO one in the msm apart from ONE person (Peter Hitchens) has openly admitted this.
So this is not an attack on democracy, in FACT it is quite the opposite.
Where is is opposition to being dragged into WW3 because of this ? where is the “not in my name” ?
By all means offer help and support the the perennial victims of war, the civillians, but be very careful of eulogising Zelensky, who, by the way, has made himself and his family extremely wealthy in the process of his undemocratic take over.

Anyway – it is right that the points you raise are aired . The problem is that any comment made which go against the approved narrative will be accused of being pro Russia .
However none of those ‘facts ‘ excuses what putin is doing . I read some of what hitchin wrong and he sounded like an apologist for the war. As far as I’m concerned putin is an enemy who needs to be physically or politically dead .- with Russia put in a box unless it behaves .
As I did say, I do not condone what is happening at the moment, but I am disputing the false narrative that this is purely and simply an attack upon democracy as you can see from some of the links I have provided above.

Of course, and I also point out the extreme folly of going much further than offering succour to the victims, and support via sanctions, despite what some would have us do.
A forensic examination during a “blame game ” of the past that created this tension, would uncover much of embarrassment to not just Russia but Ukranian politicians, the US and EU also.
We can only be thankful our country is not in such a “strategic” geographical position.

They way it looks to me is that the US have provoked this war in gamble to get the Ukraine a fully fledged member of NATO and the EU alongside with the prospect of a wealthy new member to fill the coffers now the cash-cow UK has left.
The gamble failed because they underestimated just how ruthless Putin is when he is cornered. Life is cheap to him. Or maybe they judged the territorial gain was worth the risk.
But what is really alarming me at the moment is how everything the Ukraine claims has a fast-track straight to the headlines on the BBC.
And the other things which stands out is how the BBC are trying sway public opinion by reporting more on individual humanitarian stories than what is actually going on. I have to go elsewhere for that information. We are getting propaganda like it is us who is at war. I almost expected the BBC to dub someone cheering over the video where the helicopter got shot down.
Even today the BBC headlines have: ‘Toddler with cancer escapes Ukraine to Poland’.
The whole situation just doesn’t feel right to me. We can blame Putin for all the people getting blown to pieces, but lets not be so quick to put all the blame on him for being there in the first place.
