Hong Kong’s leader has admitted that banks in the Asian financial hub are “losing patience” after the failure of its unpopular zero-tolerance approach to Covid.

Bank bosses have long warned the tough measures put in place to eradicate the virus in Hong Kong, which is now suffering the world’s worst spike in Covid deaths, could affect its status as a financial hub as quarantine rules meant it became increasingly isolated.

    Who is P&O owned by?
    DP World
The ferry operator was bought by Dubai-based logistics giant DP World in a £322 million deal in 2019. The company specialises in cargo logistics, port terminal operations, maritime services and free trade zones, and was formed in 2005 by the merger of Dubai Ports Authority and Dubai Ports International.6 hours ago

On 16 December 2006 P&O Dover (Holdings) Limited, a subsidiary of P&O and DP World sold its shares on Shekou Container Terminals Phase 1 (22.5%) and Phase 2 (owned indirectly 22.5% shares), a port of Shenzhen, People’s Republic of China, to a joint venture company of China Merchants Holdings (International) and Modern Terminals Limited (MTL), for which MTL bore the whole cost.[21] Shenzhen was ranked 4th in list of world’s busiest container ports and Shekou Container Terminals was one of the four major terminals of Shenzhen.

Speaking at the Annual Friends of Ireland Luncheon on Thursday to mark St. Patrick’s Day, President Biden began by asserting, “Father, before I begin — bless me, Father, for I’m about to sin. I — well, I just want you to know, I may be Irish, but I’m not stupid.”

I wonder if the BBC will publish this little ‘bon mot’ from the so-called ‘leader’ of the Western World, basically calling out the Irish as a bunch of ignorant eejits.

Now, just imagine the reaction if similar words had just tripped out of the mouth of former President Trump, or Boris Johnston, the acclaimed, at least in far-left-wing BBC-type politics, buffoons of the world.

    Tumbleweed…….

……..mind you, according to all the BBC pundtis on the BBC’s ‘Today’ programme this morning, Geriatric Joe was going to give Xi Jin Ping a ‘roasting’ today….. yeah, right.

      YOUR COMPLAINT:

      President Trump’s 100 Days President Biden’s 0 Day

Dear Winston Smith in the Records Department of the Ministry of Truth,

You covered President Trump’s 100 Days and then produced a Beyond 100 Days to hold power to account.

Why have you not done the same for President Biden to hold power to account?

‘Omission is the greatest form of lie.’

Funny thing is those workers are not working under UK law.
They were actually working for EU flagged vessels.

“Most are blaming Brexit as a cause, but its an excuse.
P&O stated that they have been losing £100m year on year.
P&O not only owned by a Dubai based company, but they also moved operations to Cyprus who are still in the EU.
Covid situation did not help them – less travellers”

Lawyer speaking now saying most contracts seem to be Jersey based so not 100% which laws they are under.

BBC local news ..Ed Milliband is speaking.

The BBC did get some figures up this evening, Stew, and they show a 1000 drop in the (two?) day total. Strangely, the cases have been rising in some of least densely populated parts of the UK. One of the hotspots at present is the Outer Hebrides! The other interesting thing is that first and second vaccinations are over the 82% threshhold that I have lurking in my memory as a major virus restrainer and booster jabs are not far below the 82% mark. That rather suggests that maybe a batch of tests are giving false positives.

The Metropolitan Police have got to understand that
black drug gangs, knife gangs , muggers, etc etc are
UNTOUCHABLE unless you know 110% that they are guilty of a crime.
You should get your guidelines from the
    Londonistan programme on the BBC.
The anarchist Marxist editors, sub editors , researchers,
presenters and reporters will I am sure give you the
correct directives on how to liaise with these gangsters
who now control a fair percentage of the inner London
    streets.

Just watched the film “Amerigeddon” Typical gung ho family against the government, but very refreshing to watch something which isn’t toally biased towards the one world government elites:

“A dire warning of a wake up call of what might be our future when a globalist terrorist organization aligned with the United Nations disables the United States power grid and institutes Martial Law. It will take a dedicated family of patriots armed with strong survival skills and the remains of the Second Amendment to save America and reclaim its freedom.”

3pm Thursday cos Radio4 is very diverse we got Clare Balding walking with Floella Benjamin and her husband in London.

Floella is not normally super racebaity, but this edit sounded like that.
Her husband Keith started early on “Oh when I arrived from Jamaica I was very young and remember tramping the street with the signs “No coloureds No Dogs No Irish”
.. Actually Simon Webb explained that that is a bit of a myth, that people so want to be true. Of course sometimes there were incidence of terrible racism sometimes there were the odd signs “no Irish”, but there are no contemporary photos of such an iconic three part sign
and if there had been loads of signs there would have been loads of photos.
journo Mary Kenny calls it a myth
The iconic photo people cite comes from much later

Floella kept asserting “wherever I go people kept saying “what are YOU doing here as if I were the cleaner” etc.
Again i am sure she has experienced actual racism sometimes , but when people express surprise that some strange looking person is in a place, that doesn’t mean they the speaker is racist.
I have been to loads of countries where people have shouted out “white man, white man” in the local language.

They went on to her book Coming To England “which is now taught in schools .. and is being turned into a musical.

“Floella Benjamin arrived in Britain aged 10 in 1960 from Trinidad, and considers herself part of the Windrush generation”
Again Simon Webb says that the Windrush came in 1948 so 1960 is rather late for claiming to be Windrush
But the government have put her in charge of the Waterloo station Windrush memorial project.

    ==================

Then cos the BBC is very diverse, the next show was with Jamaican writer Marlon James
    who was also quite racebaity

Stew, did Clare ask Trinidadian Floella for her and other Trinidadian’s views on Jamaicans? No?

      I wonder why?

      • StewGreen says:

Oh I wrote that her husband Keith Taylor mentioned coming from Jamaica
but that was a mistake on my part, cos he say “arrived in London ” he didn’t say from where .. I guess Trinidad too.

The incredible thing is of course he has a Caribbean accent, he appears to be 100% white
.. You really think they would have mentioned that.
I guess his mother was black and father white.

Like if she says she was treated different cos she is black, surely they would tell stories of how her white husband was treated differently to her.
