What a surprise ? Guardian favoured by Google search 38 times….

It’s like hearing a familiar album you haven’t heard for a long time – it’s the ‘do the trump’ .
This time it’s a lead story with words like ‘insurrection ‘ over the disorder in Washington after the US election was stolen .
In passing the BBC mentioned that the inquiry was by the Democrats …. Then went on to uncritically report the democrat propaganda being pumped out to undermine any attempt by president trump to win a fair election in 2024 ….
… but the songs went on – favourites like ‘trump is a monster ‘ and ‘kill trump ‘ were played at maxi volume ….
But there’s a risk that more people might look at Biden/Obama – and then at president trump – maybe think ‘how did this dementing old man get elected ? Was it fixed ? ‘…..nut then back to the approved msm onslaught ….
Much attention being given to 2 Uk nationals in the Ukraine war – playing into the hands of Russia – a diversion …..
Meanwhile – injunctions will be issued to stop criminal entrants to the UK from being deported to bongo bongo land …. Some lefty judge will frustrate both parliament and the British people ….
The bbc will be full of glee
There’s other stuff about charities wanting more or less of something –
Of the government doing too much or not enough of something –
Just the usual far left BBC song of bias really … off switch ….

I really have not the time or inclination to research. maybe others here can asist with their input, but:
I am aware the Blair regime were responsible for thousands of new laws per year :
Sweet and Maxwell (2006) :
“Tony Blair has been responsible for 54% more new laws per year in office than Margaret Thatcher, reveals research by Sweet & Maxwell, the information provider. According to figures from Sweet & Maxwell’s Westlaw UK and Lawtel online legal information services it is estimated that an average of 2,663 new laws were added every year under
Blair, compared to an average of just 1,724 under Thatcher ”
I am wondering, to what extent this Government, with a large majority, is actually legally hamstrung to be able to enact policy.
There are so many legal challenges, it seems civil servants and lawyers are governing this country.

Certainly the civil service is now resisting any unapproved policy – eg border control – and it doing its best to destroy the likes of nut nut – Patel – sunak – Dorries – even though they are lefties – in my book …

@F2, agreed, but how far does the legal system assist left wing traitors via previous governments legislation ?
I find it hard to believe this government is willingly dragging its feet on certain policies and wonder why.

Additional to the above from Sweet and Mawell:
“Professor Sealy points out that the Blair years have seen a dramatic increase in the amount of EU legislation that becomes law in the UK without it ever having to be passed through UK Parliament as a statute or statutory instrument (i.e. they would not be included in the above statistics).
Says Professor Sealy: “There were over 2,100 European Regulations in 2006. A random selection shows the huge range of subjects they cover: cross-border insolvency; importing of bed-linen; import values of certain fruit and vegetables; the buying-in of butter; evaluation of statistics on labour costs; access of poultry to open-air runs.
All became law here without our legislators having to lift a finger.”
Professor Sealy says another recent phenomenon is not simply the number of statutes but also their size. Of the 2006 Acts, five had over 100 pages, three over 200, one over 300, one over 500 and one over 700! The Companies Act 2006, was the longest Act of 2006, and is also the longest Act in British Parliamentary history, with 1,300 sections, covering nearly 700 pages, and containing no less than 15 schedules.
The research by Sweet & Maxwell, shows that 98% of new legislation introduced over the last ten years have been
introduced as statutory instruments.
Sweet & Maxwell explain that statutory instruments receive less Parliamentary debating time and, potentially, less scrutiny than statutes. It is why Governments prefer to use statutory instruments and opposing parties feel they stifle the scrutiny new legislation demands.”

“Revealed: The damning testimony of woman who says her rail union boss sexually harassed her… and how it was covered up
Claire Laycock is one of seven women to come forward with harassment claims.
The claims are all levelled at TSSA firebrand General Secretary Manuel Cortes”
“The 2018 Christmas party held by the Transport Salaried Staffs’ Association was, according to at least one who was there, a rather boozy affair. After dinner, washed down with plenty of drinks, partygoers decamped to a nearby pub.
There, alas, the festive atmosphere swiftly soured when the trade union’s firebrand General Secretary, Manuel Cortes, allegedly made a drunken attempt to kiss one of his female members of staff, former casino waitress Claire Laycock.
Fast forward three-and-a-half years and highly damaging claims about what happened that night — not to mention during the months that followed — have led to calls for the resignation of 55-year-old Cortes, along with a cultural shake-up of the entire British trade union movement.”

I subscribe to Full Fact for the same reasons I used to follow Springster, or read a Wiki explanation… at best a start to a story, usually laughable.

Claims that the BBC “censored” footage of Boris and Carrie Johnson arriving at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee thanksgiving service to remove audio of the crowd booing have been shared widely on social media.
Conversely, there have also been widespread claims that the BBC overemphasised the booing in the crowd in order to cast the Prime Minister in a negative light.
The truth is less exciting.
The core explanation is that the events at St Paul’s were being captured by different crews from different places, which picked up more or less booing or cheering.
The claim of censorship comes when comparing two instances where the BBC showed footage of the Prime Minister arriving at the service. In the first, the booing is quite prominent. In the replay a few minutes later, the booing is less pronounced.
That’s because the BBC had multiple filming crews and they used a clean feed for the replay. The reason they couldn’t use the original feed again is because presenter Jane Hill’s commentary was captured on the same feed as the booing. Using this again would have clashed with her ongoing interview.
We’ve put together a mock-up of what it might have sounded like if the BBC had used the audio from the first clip again for the replay 👇
[spoiler: it sounds like a complete mess]
How it might have sounded using the original audio for the replay
This has been corroborated by sound engineers on social media and a statement to Full Fact by the BBC. Those at the event can also, at the very least, confirm that loud boos were heard at St Paul’s.

Uh huh. A statement by the BBC.
At the very least, Full Fact, good luck next funding appeal.

Guest who
I think voting should be replaced by election through ‘booing ‘ .
It would remove the fraud of postal voting –
students would have to be in two places to boo
It would be harder to hide unapproved boos than votes
VAR could be used to measure boos
Opinion polls would be more accurate as people called be asked to boo according to policies
Proportional representation through booing could be used
One person – one boo …
Silly season has arrived …

There’s still precious little laughing matter on the press frontpages: Matt is away (Telegraph) – WFH?
To be fair it would be a tough gig for the house cartoonist to find the funny side of the main headline: Captured British fighters sentenced to death (Telegraph)
As Oliver Hardy would tend to accuse Stan Laurel: “Well, that’s another fine mess you’ve gotten us into”

Of course we recall a time, not so very long ago, when every TV comedy sketch show contained a Mexican firing squad gag. Try getting that past the censors these days.
The bollinger bolshevik Guardian takes an oddly anti-socialist line: ‘A Soviet-era show trial’ Mariupol Britons sentenced to death – of course you have to remember the mantra – Communist Russia wasn’t REAL socialism
The Guardian is taking a brief stroll down another dodgy path fraught with bear traps for their left-liberal outlook here: Footage of violence at Paris final was deleted… Many supporters also complained about getting mugged around the stadium. – gosh, what if a protected group of men was doing the mugging, surely it would be ok to scrub the CCTV in the interests of community cohesion, no?
Speaking of those well-heeled enough to be able to afford a well developed social conscience…
Look who’s out selling the Big Issue says the freebie Metro: William goes undercover – and just happens to get photographed and his pic splashed all over the media. By the way, a welcome guest appearance hereabouts – by proxy – for the sold on-the-streets charitable publication The Big Issue

Their attire being a far cry from anything editors would put on our frontpages – in contrast with: J-Lo’s frock shock (Daily Star)
Eastern European Lithuanian Laura is quite the smart-casual fashion plate in her sun shades.
Quite some contrast with her distant cousins brandishing a desultory copy of that magazine, supposedly for the homeless charity, but in reality in lieu of sidestepping immigration restrictions (such as they are) and grabbing token emploment status with British national insurance numbers by the back door – the open sesame to a plethora of State benefits – including housing benefit of course.
Back to the frontlines – there’s a war going on, you know…
New Ukraine war horror – shouts the Daily Mail: UK outrage as two Brits face firing squad – outrage? You’ve only just told us – give the British public at least half a chance to think it over and then get back to you with our opinions.
The giveaway Metro propagates some daft opinions but kudos to it today as it sees through some of the faux outrage and comes close to the crux of the matter: Putin’s pawns. Fear POWs are Russia’s bargaining chips after ‘sham’ trial
Sham trial? Seems like tit for tat…
A Russian soldier is sentenced to life in prison in Ukraine’s first war crimes trial (NPR May 2022 – National Public Radio is near enough America’s answer to BBC Radio 4 – all the pompous liberal bias and anti-Israel sentiment without the Desert Island Discs)

Speaking of needless destructive long-drawn out conflicts – it’s always Women’s Hour at the Gruan: Laura Dern. On the return of Jurassic Park – and why men in power are the real dinosaurs – why give is a movie review when you can preach leftist politics?
By the way, the left-leaning ‘i’ newspaper didn’t like this movie either: Dino-bore. A Jurassic Park reboot with no teeth. This film is terrifying for all the wrong reasons

The unsanitary truth about period poverty – and what governments can do (World Economic Forum – always there in the background and keen to tell governments what they ought to do)
Fraser Nelson. The Blob has taken back control (Telegraph)
I’ve likely told this before but it amused me. Passing my local library – they seem to only deal in books as a sideline these days – I noticed a notice in the window advertising free period products. Being keen on vintage items I enquired further only to be disappointed to discover this was a women’s thing. Of course this was pre Keir Starmer’s remarks implying how though born as a chap I could equally avail myself of such female benefits.

“Laura Dern. On the return of Jurassic Park – and why men in power are the real dinosaurs -”
Reading The Grauniad’s one-star review of the latest duff Jurassic Park sequel, it transpires that the villain of the film is a character called Lewis Dodgson, played by Campbell Scott.
Trivia: Dodgson was in the original 1993 film but was then played by an actor called Cameron Thor. Thor was unable to reprise his role as he was sentenced to six years in prison in 2016 for performing a lewd act on a child.

Tom’s right, the only real solution to the housing crisis is to build more houses – “build back better” needs to be more than just a slogan. The rest is just tinkering around the edges…
order-order.com
……
“Consider this, I give this example. If immigration continues at the levels it has average over the last ten years. Britain will be adding 10 million people to it’s population in the next 20 years. That means building a new house roughly every seven minutes. Now, we currently have no leadership from the Liberal Democrats, Conservative or Labour Parties saying they are going to do anything to change that course. @5:56 … if any party wishing to get into power doesn’t address this they are committing political suicide….@10:30″ {youtube – Douglas Murray – oct2015}
… but wait, someone, who is now in power to act out their words, did mention this problem and almost suggests that ‘too high immigration’ should be reduced …
“Because when immigration is too high (no figure given), when the pace of change is too fast, it’s impossible to build a cohesive society. It’s difficult for schools and hospitals and core infrastructure like housing and transport to cope. And we know that for people in low-paid jobs, wages are forced down even further while some people are forced out of work altogether. … So there is no case, in the national interest, for immigration of the scale we have experienced over the last decade.”

Funny that – I just forced myself to listen to the media show – the one where an upwardly mobile BBC type interviewed the chief exec of GBNews as it approached the end of year one ….
….. the approach was as interesting as the content ….
Lots of talk about money – but no mention about the BBC source of funding .
I didn’t realise the boycott of GBNews by all UK advertising agencies is continuing – presumably the hand of ITV and now Murdock is responsible for this – with those two hoping to starve GBNews to death – and either killing it or taking it over ..
The BBC clearly has a fixation with Nigel Farage – the BBC clone couldn’t stop mentioning him – ……
And the bbc prosecution had built up a list of focus points to hit GBnes with – actually there were not many – although the evil gutto hari ‘taking the knee ‘ and refusing to apologise was focused on ….
Hari of course now works for nut nut – says it all …
The attitude of the interview was hugely adversarial – as might be expected with a constant attempt to bait the GBNews chap into something ‘hostile ‘ which never came .
It’s clear that the BBC is frightened of a minnow like GBNews because it cannot be easily controlled – even though it knows that the BBCOFCOM is forever ready to strike it down .
I think the MSM is waiting for a solid attack to destroy GBNews – perhaps it will lie with Steyn or Dan jobbie – …
I did recognise a couple of failings of `GBNews – it hasn’t been as ‘outside London ‘ as was expected – and it has been too far into crappy Westminster politics with different presenters going over the same trivia during the day …
However – the interview – failed to achieve its’ aim of attacking GBNews – but for those supporting GBNews – it’s time to list those advertising agencies and – if possible – boycott them ….
Good luck with year 2 GBNews … be brave …

Rwanda deportations, legal action:
In a previous post I made a comment about the “enemy within”. It turns out that this is closer to the truth than I thought. It turns out that one of the applicants in the High Court action is in fact the Civil Service Union. Their grounds are that their members would be exposed to danger and might be asked to act illegally. Here’s me thinking that the Government ran the Country and the Civil Service carry out what the Government needed done.

How much of anti-government feeling
is due to Government workers doing empire building ?
Any large organisation is apt to become inefficient, cos departments are prone to empire building and instead of focusing on their actual mission, they focus on depending on their own empires.
I wrote earlier How I noticed that the prime beneficiaries of do-good projects often turn out to be the workers who get a salary/pension out of it, rather than the actual needy… now I notice big overlap problems.
: Councils set up projects eg the Social work team spend £5m on helping drug addicts
Then the next year another department say the health outreach team set up their own costing £8m.
The council recognise the overlap so cut the first budget by £1m
You then end up with a whole department shouting “Evil Tory cuts ! Austerity !”
When in fact austerity is often not real cos there are two projects more money is being spent helping drug addicts, it’s not like after WW2, rather these days government spending is ever increasing.

How long before this happens here?
Norway to Track All Supermarket Purchases
Statistics Norway wants to receive several million daily receipts from food stores, signalling a new era in state data collection. Privacy advocates and the supermarkets themselves are unhappy.

Can you be sure it isn’t already?

Waitrose already collect information on what you buy in their stores if you have a Waitrose Card. They currently use it to give you money back on items they note you buy regularly.
M&S can provide ‘sparks card’ holders with electronic receipts to your e-mail detailing what you’ve bought.
So we are being tracked already.
Yes, there is obviously potential for this information to ‘leak’.

Does Sky Glass* represent the beginning of the end for the BBC Telly Tax or the start of funding the BBC from universal taxation? *I assume that when Sky tell me that it is the future of television, it can be programmed so that it shows no BBC TV programmes in real time and thus does not require a TellyTax to be paid.

Many of you will have seen it.
I’ve just watched a film which is a year or two old and found it quite watchable which is very unusual with the modern film makers efforts.
It’s called Don’t look up and it’s about an extinction level asteroid crashing into Earth killing everyone.
I suppose it’s a bit similar to Yes (Prime) Minister brought up to date as it’s full of todays type of politicians and msm being themselves and we see how useless they are.
Jennifer Lawrence looks very unflattering with her ‘ginger growler’ look.
Merely Streep is good as President and Cate Blanchett is terrific as a news anchor.
It’s unusual to be able to enjoy modern films as they are almost all woke, pc and just tedious to watch.
It’s no life of Brian but it’s a decent watch.

Local BBC “Hey there is a new 52m high tower in Hull !
Why’s that ?
It’s a silo for storing imported cement
“Damac said the huge silo was needed to help meet soaring demand in the construction industry”
The omission there :
The local establishment fake-greens like the BBC ruthlessly campaign for NetZero
so making legitimate business difficult and costly
The result was Cemex just closed the South Ferriby cement plant 15 miles away in South Ferriby
To import from abroad instead

Twitter pushes a promoted tweet into my feed
See the online magazine Joe.co.uk is PAID by the BBC to make tweets promoting BBCthree which the BBC then pays Twitter to promote

US inflation figures still out of control despite the putting up rates – markets take a kicking as they see even more rate rises until the recession kicks in .
No doubt Biden / Obama / pelosi / MSM will blame President Trump for that …
……. And of course – if the US slides so will the UK ….unless someone deals with Putin and his gangsters ….
Everything else is throth compared to that ….
…. Meanwhile the BBC hardship fetish continues gleefully reporting ‘heat or eat ‘ choices – but no mention of cancelling the TV licence in order for the kiddies to eat …
£13.25 a month would buy a few things to eat …

What a hard choice it is to pick between watching the Londonistan
programme on the BBC with Riz Lateef, Asad Ahmad,
Alice Bhandhukravi etc. Slagging off the Metropolitan Police, the
Toreeeees, the Bosses of TFL, the NH etc. Yes I know that they
are only aping the scripts on the autocues written by their
anarchist Marxist editors. But I must admit that when they support the Tube train drivers earning over £1500-00 a week
with overtime . Who can afford to go on strike for at
least several weeks a year. For a job an 9 year old child
could learn to do in a couple of hours, it makes me want to vomit. Paris Metro trains and many others are AUTOMATIC !!
No, I watch the Country Farm Shows where we are allowed
to see a few whities producing Sheep’s milk vodka. Or
Honey Bees mead. Yes much more satisfying than
watching the Grenfell Tower story every night. Or how
nasty the fuzz are to the black drug gangs. You may
say i am being cynical about Grenfell Tower disaster. BUT
it is forbidden to talk about the elephant in the room
so far as this terrible disaster was concerned. The
illegal subletting.

BBC WEB-SITE Watch #1 – now I do know that you should always be consistent with your data in a Pandemic
The BBC have messed around with the statistics – again! – for Covid infections. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-51768274 This breaks the first rule of information gathering: Be consistent. No longer can I monitor my and other districts for increases and reductions in Covid infections. I wonder why? I suspect something is going on. Would it be that Civil Servants and the BBC want to make the present Government look bad at some point in the future?
