A DISPIRITING tale of our times is smugly and gleefully told on the BBC website – where else? – under the headline Climate Change: How to Talk to a Denier.

Before we go any further, just consider the mocking implication of that headline – climate change ‘deniers’ are simpletons and must be carefully handled.

The narrative itself is about an American lad, Lance Lawson, who sounds a charming young fellow. Realising that his father was a climate change denier, he bravely set out to steer his errant parent towards the path of righteousness.

Lance’s father, Brian Anderson, apparently originally saw climate change as completely overblown and said unscrupulous politicians were ‘fearmongering’ for electoral gain.

But, as time went on, young Lance ‘started realising his father’s views weren’t backed by scientific evidence’ and he decided to challenge him.

‘Whenever he drove me to school, I would give my own argument, and he would downplay the evidence,’ Lance tells us. ‘It would force me to acquire new evidence, and that cycle helped expand my own understanding.’

Lance then asked his father, a religious man, to assume that climate change might be real, and if so, would Brian not have a moral responsibility to take care of what God had provided?

Brian seems to have had a Road to Damascus moment. ‘Lance spoke in a language that I could appreciate and understand,’ he is reported as saying. ‘You have to approach people in terms of where they’re at.’

Private medical insurance companies are paying corporate client employees up to £200 a night to use the NHS. The bizarre situation has emerged as a response to the escalating costs of private healthcare.

By encouraging staff to think twice before choosing private care over their local NHS service, insurers such as Bupa save costs and help clients to curb soaring premiums. At a maximum £200 a night, the NHS payment is well below the £1,000 cost of a night in a typical private hospital.

It would appear that the town that keeps on giving Oldham is in the news again for all the wrong reasons.

This time it is because the bodies assumed to be those of four illegal Vietnamese migrants have been found after an old mill which caught fire and burned for four days was being demolished and the site cleared.

The story is of course not that simple because Burnhams Gestapo are involved. Someone apparantly phoned them up on the 21st July to tell them four Vietnamese illegal migrants were missing and were believed to have been involved in a fire.

This of course raises many many questions none of which will be answered such as who made that call and why did it take them so long to call as the fire happened in May. How did such a person know these individuals had been involved in a fire and how were they aware they were vietnamese illegals?

The next statement raises even more questions ” the case has been referred to GMP’s Professional Standards Bureau.” Why would this need to be refered to the PSB unless the Gestapo had done something wrong or knew about the incident and failed to take appropriate action (presumably arresting foreign illegals is not in Burnhams instruction manual?)

“GMP’s Assistant Chief Constable Rob Potts said: ‘Victims and the bereaved are at the forefront of our investigations into deaths. ” How can they be when they are halfway across the world unless they have now come forward but in which case why are they not being questioned as to how the illegal entry into the UK was effected? Were these the dinghy people who have gone missing?

Finally it would appear that the inevitable has finally happened. Illegal migrants intent on setting up yet another canabis farm had been fiddling with the electrics in order to steal it, and it all went wrong, the mill set ablaze and they paid with their lives.

This would be a salutory lesson, one we are constantly being told is inevtably going to happen one day and yet now when it probably has we all have to be quiet and respectful.

This has shades of the illegal Chinese cockle pickers written all over it, and our neo Nazi state will no doubt once again seek to find White British people to blame for their own inadquacies over the ability to police the countries borders effectively.

On hot Tuesday she’d gone out with her kids
leaving her pet dog, cat, rabbit inside her house.
Her house which had a double tennis court sized piece of waste land the other side of her house with the B&M car park across the other side.
That wasteland was 4 ft high dry grass, it caught fire spreading flames over her fence to her shed and garage then to the neighbors, then to the houses too.
So sh gets back and the cops say ..nope she can’t go in.

I know of similar wastelands, but they kept mown, why didn’t anyone think of it there.
      Someone must own that land.

Bear with me. I’ve had a thought.

I’ve mentioned recently the BBC’s ‘crisis invention’ department, The other day we were treated to the ‘rural housing crisis’ which came out of nowhere i.e. the editorial team’s anti-government brainstorming meetings.

Today we moved on to the ‘NHS workforce recruitment and staffing crisis’.

OK so let’s accept there is one. In fact we are told constantly by the BBC and MSM about the various NHS crises. Long queues at over-worked A and E, the grind and backlog of covid, the overstressed employees coping with covid and staff absences, perennial shortages of midwives, nurses, doctors, etc.

So now consider a young person doing A levels and thinking of some sort of career in the NHS. Radiology/X Rays, lab testing, Podiatry, Physiotherapy. With all the above, endless negativity by the BBC, would you want to work there? Or would you look for another career altogether? And thus the claimed staff shortages persist.

I mention this because over the past couple of years I have used all the above hospital services. And do you know what? I’ve never seen anyone stressed or overworked . The physios just went about their work, with a good half hour per patient and time for a cheery smile and a little joke here and there. At the podiatrists, all was calm and unhurried. More recently over at XRay, I waited a reasonable 20 minutes for a walk-in service and then into the XRay room, all was quiet and serene, and the radiology technicians who actually take the X Rays went ahead calmly and professionally.

In other words, much of the NHS is not in crisis, over-worked and stressed out but quite a decent place to work.

But you would never guess that from the BBC propaganda.
Methinks the BBC and it’s fellow travellers could be contributing more to the NHS ‘staff shortages’ than covid, pay levels, and waiting lists put together.

What a pity most of the public, after 75 years of pro-NHS propaganda, cannot countenance such a possibility.

    Belfield case
Witness Hewis who published and then retracted the letter defaming Belfied
‘You know this Belfield is scary, he published a picture which shows my family’
AB ‘Wasn’t that picture just your Facebook profile photo ?’
    ‘Yes it was’

Hewis ‘AB published a pic of our family’s baby’s scan’
AB ‘Wasn’t that publicly tweeted by you ?
and didn’t it have a town identifier on it ?
an identifier I used to work out which police force to report the defamation to’
Hewis ‘ I was cared I saw a person like Belfield in the street’
‘Yes but that turned out to be someone completely different’
    ..it continues like that
Then he said the BBC Northampton DJ who actually wrote the defamation wasn’t being truthful entirely

    Witness the BBC Northampton manager
As usual a lot of contradictions
eg saying that lots of emails ‘possibly 100’ had some in from Belfield , but they weren’t addressed to her just CC’d and she didn’t know what it was about.
‘We don’t get many complaint letters at the BBC’
said dealing with ABs letters was overwhelming
.. Actually she had been away on maternity leave for 2 years during all of this.
Said DJ was in tears since 2015 over AB asking him about the letter. Said AB;s habit of CC’ing bosses into the emails to the DJ was micro-aggression.
Then she said the DJ had talked about buying a rope in April 2021
(That’s strange cos that seems to be AFTER police say they started court process against AB The charges are “between November 2012 and March 2021.”
She said the DJ told her he’d created the defamation email, then she said he hadn’t told her, then he’d never seen it .
(That is weird cos AB’s repeated emails were cos he wanted the DJ to deny or confirm he’d created the defamation, and the DJ wouldn’t answer)
Tue/Wed it will be the final witness Dehaney and then at the end of the week AB is questioned .
I think Dehney is the blogger that took the withdrawn defamation email and kept reposting it. And then when AB complained ..said that AB was harassing him

I spot a tweet from AB talking about suing the BBC cos they made him start a company He accuses them of bullying
    I tried to sue @BBC over IR35.
They typically used all their power, pubiic £ and external barristers to make sure I didn’t get to court.

I limit my BBC intake because it is bad for my health . Whenever wimmins ‘ tedious ‘soccer ball ‘ is mentioned the off switch is used . The BBC invented a nickname for so called England team which they push and push .

They crow about viewing figures – which I suggest are an expression of withdrawal symptoms from real footy …..

It’s only a couple of weeks until the real footy starts again …

Elsewhere – I don’t know if there was much difference in perception between the TV and radio versions of the truss sunak fight – which I think should have been stopped in the 4th round .

I think the richi camp is spending huge resources rehearsing him – my mum was a chemist – I worked in an Indian restaurant – I blew up the UK economy sez rishi – at the preset moment –
The more I hear of the sunak the less I think he’ll get the job . Whether truss is any good – who knows ?
The best either can do is try to mitigate the coming hardship …. Which for some will be interesting when their ‘working from home ‘ translates into ‘not working at all ‘….. with a whole new life / work balance …

WTF has happened in the BBC to make stories like this headline news ?. And they’ve done their best to load it up with empathy as usual.

“It means I can’t train properly with my team, which makes it harder for them to prepare.”

“I still have my old chair but this one is completely different, it took two months to have it custom built.”

“The height, the support, it is specifically for me and a different chair would affect not only my performance but my safety as well.”

Who decided this story should be so prominent ?. They should be sacked with immediate effect and someone who knows what the word ‘news’ in ‘BBC news’ actually means.

Ukraine war: Russia waging gas war with Nord Stream 1 cuts – Zelensky
    https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-62300684

Ukraine has accused Moscow of waging a “gas war” against Europe and cutting supplies to inflict “terror” on people.

The propaganda is thick in this war. Except the claims from one side are presented to us as ‘news’ by the BBC and the other as the ramblings of crazed madmen.

It seems to me like it’s only a matter of time before Russia takes action against the West considering what we are doing to aid their enemy (particularly us and the USA). I completely expect them to cut the gas.

Is Ukraine worth WW3 ?. It seems to me this is just another tit-for-tat escalation. I see no solution to this conflict at the moment – only East vs West and neither has any interest in ending it.

With Ukraine caught in the middle and doing all the dying.

Just to be clear I’m not a Putin supporter.
Cutting off the supply of weapons to your enemy is the sensible thing to do. By giving the EU public a little taster of what Russia can do to them by just reducing gas flow in summer let alone a total shut off in winter, Putin is piling pressure on the EU to reduce the flow of weapons to Ukraine and lift any sanctions against Russia.
It doesn’t seem to cost Russia much because they have alternative markets in China and India . The Russian strategy would have been more effective if they had started the war in summer and played the gas card just as the EU storage was at its annual low.
Dear old Mutti Merkel set the EU up right enough.

From the channel I watch, it seems the war now is basically the Russians working out where the Ukranians are then putting under a lot of artillery fire. I don’t think there is a lot of direct fighting going on.

That’s why their progress is so slow. Apparently a lot of Ukrainian units are down to 50% of their strength. The Russian tactic at the moment is to simply remove the Ukranians ability to wage war by attrition.

At the start Russian losses were huge and the BBC still refer to that to infer Russia is losing – but now I think it’s mostly Ukraine who are taking the casualties.

I expect it can continue as long as Putin wants it to. I don’t think Russia’s economic position is as bad as we are being told because a lot of the world is on their side. Many countries really hate the USA (and us) who they see as being behind it all.

Incidentally just before Zelensky arrested all those people for treason, Russia hit a big meeting of Ukranians and Western ‘advisers’ with a missile. Something our media didn’t report.

Thanks I reckon the likes of the krauts / French will do all they can to undermine Ukraine in order to get the EU economy back where they want it – what the Russians do to Ukraine isn’t really of interest as long as the raw materials get going again. ….

Perhaps the war will come down to a battle of private militaries …

What worries me most is that the USA+EU want Ukraine as badly as Russia does – so nobody is going to try and stop it. So every so often, something bad will happen and it will all escalate another notch.

Who is your horse? – asks Coral the bookmaker’s advertising copy on the frontpage of today’s Sun. Take time to think – counters the Be Gamble Aware quango’s cautionary health warning. This new campaign slogan having replaced their former legend: When The Fun Stops, Stop.

And what better intro could there be to our modest review of the print media consideration of the BBC’s Conservative leadership TV debate?

The prevailing liberal media take on the two Tory horse race is that this time it’s personal: Bitter Tory rivals get personal (Times)

The left-leaning ‘i’ newspaper sneaks in a reference to the Nasty Party jibe: Gloves are off: Tory contest turning nasty.

And should you doubt for a moment that headline copy was a deliberate lefty dog whistle – this subheader spells it out: Tories risk return to being known as ‘nasty party’ and jeopardising next election, grandees warn – or so the ‘i’ newspaper would hope.

Presumably the corporate advertising sheet, the giveaway Metro, is likewise banking on Labour: Blue on blue warfare. You’ll lose us the next election. Sunak and Truss scrap in TV debate – what could it be about the second referendum EU rejoiner Keir Starmer that first attracted the cheap labour-loving supermarketeers whose adverts punctuate the freebie ad sheet?

Sherelle Jacobs talks sense in the Telegraph but sadly – as so very typical of columnists in that organ – she is whistfully whistling in the wind: Sunak’s and Truss’s ideas are too similar – give members a genuine choice – that boat has sailed, luv.

The FT senses whoever succeeds to the figurehead job of PM, it will still be business as usual – as the globalist orientated pink frontpage ignores the Tory contest and that TV debate other titles seem to imagine is such big news.

The great divide… tax cuts now or later – suggests the Express… and this reader is not absolutely sure whether the Express is completely serious about that being such a great divide? I really can’t take seriously a newspaper that flies the Ukrainian flag on its masthead – any more than I can some trendy cafe that irrelevantly does so.

The knives are out frontpage of the Labour-supporting Daily Mirror – but this time atypically not for the Tories: Kids sold deadly knives – pictured are a fine array of kitchenware even Gordon Ramsay that scurge of duff chefs in his Kitchen Nightmares would struggle to criticise: Lethal spree with Martha haul of illegally sold knives

Martha is by the way a sensible-looking white girl whose mum may very well have sent her to the shops for some cooking implements. O’Brien’s manner grew stern again. He laid his hand on the dial.

‘On the contrary,’ he said, ‘you have not controlled it. That is what has brought you here. You are here because you have failed in humility, in self-discipline. You would not make the act of submission which is the price of sanity. You preferred to be a lunatic, a minority of one. Only the disciplined mind can see reality, Winston. You believe that reality is something objective, external, existing in its own right. You also believe that the nature of reality is self-evident. When you delude yourself into thinking that you see something, you assume that everyone else sees the same thing as you. But I tell you, Winston, that reality is not external. Reality exists in the human mind, and nowhere else. Not in the individual mind, which can make mistakes, and in any case soon perishes: only in the mind of the Party, which is collective and immortal. Whatever the Party holds to be the truth, is truth. It is impossible to see reality except by looking through the eyes of the Party. That is the fact that you have got to relearn, Winston. It needs an act of self-destruction, an effort of the will. You must humble yourself before you can become sane.’

He paused for a few moments, as though to allow what he had been saying to sink in.

‘Do you remember,’ he went on, ‘writing in your diary, “Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two make four”?’

      ‘Yes,’ said Winston.

O’Brien held up his left hand, its back towards Winston, with the thumb hidden and the four fingers extended.

‘How many fingers am I holding up, Winston?’

      ‘Four.’

‘And if the party says that it is not four but five — then how many?’

      ‘Four.’

The word ended in a gasp of pain. The needle of the dial had shot up to fifty-five. The sweat had sprung out all over Winston’s body. The air tore into his lungs and issued again in deep groans which even by clenching his teeth he could not stop. O’Brien watched him, the four fingers still extended. He drew back the lever. This time the pain was only slightly eased.

      ‘How many fingers, Winston?’

      ‘Four.’

The needle went up to sixty.

      ‘How many fingers, Winston?’

‘Four! Four! What else can I say? Four!’

The needle must have risen again, but he did not look at it. The heavy, stern face and the four fingers filled his vision. The fingers stood up before his eyes like pillars, enormous, blurry, and seeming to vibrate, but unmistakably four.

      ‘How many fingers, Winston?’

‘Four! Stop it, stop it! How can you go on? Four! Four!’

      ‘How many fingers, Winston?’

      ‘Five! Five! Five!’

‘No, Winston, that is no use. You are lying. You still think there are four. How many fingers, please?’

‘Four! five! Four! Anything you like. Only stop it, stop the pain!’
