Well, hello 😉
Yep, nothing left at radio 2 for me now. It’s happened over a period of years but I guess now I’m officially old. I do listen to Simon mayo sometimes but the adverts are annoying. So I’ve just grown out of it.

Harry – yes – I’m third but I think you are second ….😎
I’m slightly disappointed by the Athletics people coming out with some line about chaps competing in chaps ‘ competitions and ladies competing in ladies thing …. Surely men who think they are wimmin should be competing in wimmins’ things and visa versa ?
But do wimmin who think they are men compete in men’s’ competitions ? I ask because I don’t know the answer …..
Personally I think this trans crap will turn out good for normal types in the end because it is just madness ….

The 2021 census estimated 0.3% trans, of which only a small part of that was mainly/ fully anatomically transitioned individuals.
Yet the rest of us get this issue stuffed down our throats by the BBC and the rest ad infinitum. Pathetic.

If I go into a shop and grab something and walk out without paying then I would be done for shoplifting.
If I go to a restaurant, eat a meal, and then dash out without paying I could be rightly held to account.
So why should people use gas or electric and then refuse to pay for it?
The pre-payment meter thing sounds more and more like the latest in a long line of examples of Leftoid tactical outrage.
One can’t accept the antics of the more voracious quasi-bailiffs of course, which the MSM are weaponising, but the general principle of paying for what you take must hold good. Otherwise the bill is paid, out of sight, by all the rest of us.

Why are the utility retailers getting away with accruing fat balances from Direct Debit customers?
Now THAT is an excellent question and one on which some proper ‘investigative journalists’ ought to be spending time.
I was at a party talking to a banking person and we got on to the subject of energy suppliers and she asked who I was with. I answered and she said ‘be careful’. The implication was that not all these businesses have good cash flow. and that’s the answer to tomo’s question.
It gets more interesting. Now I was in credit but on the back of her comments I sought to reduce my monthly payment substantially, aiming to do this for just one month in order to get my credit balance down to a lower level. They would not let me do it !!!!!!!!! I could only reduce by a small %, in order that I would still be in estimated credit 12 months hence!!!!
So tomo, you are absolutely on the money.

Just a shame you can’t hold the retail energy company feet to the fire and demand the arithmetic that underpins their larceny.
A corporate accountant once (1990s) told me that 17% (I remember it coz it was an odd number) of bills – if duplicated, were paid without question. I just see the DD antics of the energy retailers as an extension of this metric… I wonder how many overpayments have disappeared from the customer’s balance? – going to happen ain’t it?

Good job the organisation he works for doesn’t employ such goons to target vulnerable people on the doorstep. Hypocrisy needle at breaking point, for anyone unaware just search bbc licence goons.

Worth mentioning that it is the final day of the contaminated blood inquiry.
Yes, it’s our NHS heroes yet again, who gave thousands of innocent people Hepatitis and HIV in the 1980s, and then pretended nothing had happened for some 40 years, presumably hoping the victims would all die before having to accept accountability and pay compensation.
But hey, the taxpayer is always here to foot their bill.

I rather think if the people had haemophilia in the first place the NHS was actually keeping them alive
.. but then screwing it up by not screening the blood for HIV is certainly a disaster.
I wonder if their lack of screening was spurred by a desire to seem politically correct and not cast aspersions on gay people.
It was imported US blood that was never checked by the NHS. That was discovered and hushed up in UK but later admitted that the blood was harvested from US criminals who got paid to donate blood. Many of whom had HIV. The UK government did not want anyone to know how or why that happened. Ironically HIV sufferers can now donate the same blood ‘free’ to the NHS – but it will be screened by NHS. So we are sure that this will be repeated (and denied) once again that it has anything to do with being ‘gay’. As those that died were not. They were just victims, children mainly.

Yes HIV was transmitted but a major problem was also hepatitis c which is a major cause of liver cancer later on after infection. I do know of one consultant near me who was fully aware of it later but hushed it up until a journalist threatened to expose it.

How do you think they detect HIV? Yes, you guessed it. By using indirect markers. In the old days, they used antibody assays but now they use …. drum roll please…the all-in-one tried and tested and guaranteed to cross-react with everything PCR test. You can’t go wrong with it. Go into the hospital with a cold, take the test, come up positive, they put you on the HIV anti-virals. Within a week or two you are on death’s door in the ICE. It’s foolproof.
This is the same technique they use for all ‘viruses’. It’s a great money earner and a very effective tool for tyrants to lock up their citizens indefinitely at the drop of a hat.
The next opportunity isn’t far off.

I was wondering what Biden and Hunter Bidens big obsession is with net-zero. And its pretty clear to me where we are heading. Our own failed ‘gigafactory’ had no hope in competing with the Chinese low costs, as they use Coal, Oil and Gas whilst we in the UK cannot even heat our homes. Out stupid vanity driven media are well represented by the vanity driven BBC that mirrors all that wrong with the US and imports it here as Biden’s New Age powering our own desperate car industry which is about to hit the buffers. Not that our global elite care much about costs at ‘Davos’, where the BBC have a big tent and media camp followers. For the political LEFT its all about power and thought control, for the global billionaires its about buying up all the means of production and charging the earth for the basics. Food. Water. Gas. Electricity. A dream made in China. This won’t end well for any of us, not even for the BBC.
And then we have all the other crap from the left. Equal wages (with poor productivity) Universities ruined for all (with little results). Woke nonsense. Abortions and drugs on demand, No jobs, High taxes, poor and expensive NHS healthcare, Mass transport that fails the basics, jobs for life (with fewer jobs), no heating, no power and no cars either.
See this GRAPHIC Chart of Chinese car domination;
https://www.visualcapitalist.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/ev-sales-by-country-2011-2021.jpg
Another thing I learn from the Daily Mail is the number of Left leaning politicians on the make of the UK Trade Unions. How they think net-zero will enable the socialist new world order is beyond words. But they believe that they can run trains off ‘windmills’ and (somehow) totally ‘free energy‘ plans by globalists and still give everyone a weekly pay rise – but ONLY of they work for the government public utilities (that farm it out to big Pharma, big global contractors et al). Its a global WEF back scratching exercise. When they (the Left) could not run a train company, water company, school or hospital. All have been a disaster including the BBC which was and still is a UK quango (even if now partly held private) its part of the globalist movement. Net zero means, no industry without a global monopoly in food. Water, Gas and Electricity. Hence China is Biden’s favorite influencer – even if means poverty for the rest of us.
As for the Unions. They want a General Strike! They also want ‘net-zero’ as well as its totally it free-with-the-money. What could possibly go wrong with net zero? Is not Chinese ‘globalism’ wonderful? Are you not happy? You will “own nothing” and “rent everything”, you will be free and have no work either and no money worries!, (as there is no money and no work either). Just union ‘CREDITS’ which you will be available on on your (compulsory ID) mobile phone. Socialism at last. And look how well you have SAVED the planet – for the socialist workers of the world!
Bizzare! But its all very well funded. By the same billionaires who believe totally in ‘net zero’!
They are not at all socialist but they are funding ALL the LEFTS campaigns! Not just state abortions and queer lobby groups. Its Food, Water, Gas and Electricity! – they want and will get TOTAL CONTROL of global production in return a public monopoly that we can never vote on, remove or question under the new world order. The BBC like this a lot, as they pioneered this policy for decades. Now they are on the brink of ‘net zero’ and serious money to be made by the few and far chosen ones.. The same people by the way. The ones claiming we are all doomed if we don’t believe in the Green dictionary.

How the left libtards work at their filthy business:
“How an unholy alliance of anti-royalists, hard Left activists and a fox-killing lawyer fuelled race row that brought down the Queen’s most devoted lady-in-waiting
a close analysis of how the episode played out online reveals that there may be more to the episode than is apparent at first sight.
An investigation by the Mail into the tweets supporting Ms Fulani reveals how an impromptu alliance of anti-royal forces appeared to gather in order to exploit the controversy.
There appears to have been a concerted effort to throw fuel on the fire by a network of accounts run by socialist and Labour-leaning users — including backers of the far-Left former leader Jeremy Corbyn.
A second significant network consisted of a group of accounts actively engaged in conversations about royal controversies — and all overwhelmingly supportive of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who themselves have proved staunch critics of the royals.
Between them, these networks included nine accounts with more than 100,000 followers, and 129 accounts with more than 10,000 followers apiece.
That means a potential audience of millions if the accounts all chose to pursue the same story.
Within an intriguingly prompt three minutes, Ms Fulani’s post had been retweeted by Monisha Rajesh, a loyal supporter of Sistah Space and author of the book Around India In 80 days, who has 22,000 followers.
Lest there be any doubt about where Ms Rajesh stands in relation to the Royal Family, it should be noted that she later retweeted a post by Omid Scobie, author of a highly sympathetic biography of Harry and Meghan called Finding Freedom, who now makes a living as the couple’s media attack-dog and critic-in-chief of other royals.
Scobie himself today has more than 120,000 followers. His furious tweet, which was posted at 10.10am, read: ‘Yesterday’s event should have been a moment to uplift and support. The fact that Fulani — a prominent figure providing the only safe space in Britain for black survivors of domestic violence — was made to feel this way by a senior Palace aide is unforgivable.’
Crucially, her version of the conversation was corroborated on Twitter minutes later by two women who said that they had heard everything.
They were Mandu Reid, the leader of the Women’s Equality Party, and Dr Iwi Ugiagbe-Green, a researcher and lecturer on race, education and employability at Manchester Metropolitan University.
Only a cynic, surely, would suspect that the speed of their responses suggested a degree of co-ordination.
At 7.36am, Dr Ugiagbe-Green quoted Ms Fulani and alleged: ‘Ultimately, this is violence. Sistah Space I’m so sorry this happened to you. I’m also sadly unsurprised. To accept wilful erasure and be dignified in the face of continued violence is how we are expected to be.’
Other powerful voices then waded into the growing social media storm, including avowed supporters of Jeremy Corbyn.
At 8.12am prominent author and activist Ash Sarkar, who is part of Novara Media (a radical news website that is a fanatical cheerleader for Corbyn), tweeted: ‘There’s a difference between asking someone where their heritage is from, being gently rebuffed, and taking the hint — and doing this, which is basically making repeated demands for the explanation of your melanin.’
Sarkar, a self-professed communist, has more than 400,000 devoted followers on social media.
The hard-Left also engaged in the controversy in the form of ‘The Agitator’, the Twitter handle of the People’s Assembly Against Austerity, which uses a clenched red fist as its profile picture.
Key figures in the anti-Brexit brigade also jumped on the bandwagon. They included Jolyon Maugham, director of the Good Law Project.
The day after Ms Fulani posted her series of tweets, he piously tweeted to his 400,000 followers: ‘Can we talk about structural racism rather than whether Lady Hussey is the true victim here?’
Maugham is best known for his bizarre announcement via Twitter on Boxing Day 2019 that he had just bludgeoned a fox to death with a baseball bat while dressed in a satin kimono.
He killed the animal after it became trapped while trying to get inside a hen house in his back garden in South-East London.
Soon, it was supporters of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex who were further fanning the flames.
At 8.20am, less than an hour after Fulani first highlighted her experience, a certain ‘Prince Alex’, who often refers to his or her admiration for the Sussexes, introduced the hashtag ‘#RacistRoyalFamily’ to the growing online maelstrom.
The account @Archewell-Baby joined in the attack on Lady Susan also using the #RacistRoyalFamily hashtag. Archewell, of course, is the name of the charitable foundation set up by Harry and Meghan, named after their son Archie.
As social media grew ever more frenzied, senior palace officials were in turmoil over the introduction of the ‘racist’ tag.
They were still dealing with the repercussions of Meghan’s claim in her infamous 2021 Oprah Winfrey interview that an unnamed member of the Royal Family had voiced concerns about how dark Archie’s skin might be when he was born.
Little-noticed amid the brouhaha that followed the screening of that particular ‘truth bomb’ was a tweet from Sistah Space declaring that ‘according to clear definition, it seems Meghan is a survivor of DV [domestic violence] from her in-laws’.
Does this, one might wonder, suggest some kind of link between the Sussexes and Sistah Space?
The pressure on Lady Susan, affectionately nicknamed ‘No 1 head girl’ by royal insiders, intensified when Eliot Higgins, the founder of investigative journalism website Bellingcat, picked up on Fulani’s post.
He has 280,000 followers. As his audience included major media outlets, journalists and MPs, the one-sided version of the Hussey conversation was now gaining significant traction.
By 10.53am there had been 2,893 direct mentions on Twitter — including tweets, retweets, quote tweets and replies — and one minute later, at 10.54am, the first mainstream media story broke on commercial radio.
Within an hour, 500 articles had been published in regional, national and international digital titles. ”

It comes after Lorraine Kelly escaped a £1.2million tax bill because she is being hired as a ‘theatrical artist playing a persona’

Regarding house break-ins for gas/electric debt. It’s always been the case that suppliers can apply for and get Court Orders to force entry to remove, replace meters or install pre-payment meters. Not new, it dates to the pre privatisation era. All of us must have seen that new installations are sited in accessible cabinets installed to the exterior of properties, thereby obviating the need for an order anyway.
It is necessary for energy companies to be able to enforce payment otherwise no one would pay.
An issue I have with debt collectors/Bailiffs is the nature of people allowed to do the work. As was seen in the video shown in the news some Bailiffs enjoy their work far too much. Yes, many of them are bullies, on a more serious note they are drawn from a sector of the population who will have contacts in the shady and criminal world. A debtor will be put on an unofficial vulnerable list. You will therefore have situations where there will be follow ups from loan sharks, thieves and various people offering to “help” (themselves).

Flotsam
My understanding from the radio (them who must be believed) is that they are allowed to break in to a house to cut the supply due to some 1950s legislation. However prepayment meters were produced in the 1980s and therefore not covered by this legislation.
Maybe they just say that once they are in yer house thy can do what they like including using up all your T bags etc etc.
I find all these price increases a bit suspicious. For example wood has gone up by 50%. Now they want to fine people 10,000 pounds for using a wood burning stove.
I blame stinky rebellion for pushing up oil prices by putting off investment in new oil discoveries!
Pre-payment meters have existed for ages, 60 years that I know of but they go back far longer. They were coin operated, both gas and electric, emptied by a meter man. They were extremely common in the 1950’s -70’s Coin operated meters are still made but probably not installed by UK energy suppliers.

We had a coin meter in 1982. The winter cold (dec 81- Jan 82, coldest between now and ‘63) ensured we were shovelling in the 50p s like nobody’s business.
But here’s the thing. There was no eat or heat ‘crisis’ and no cost of living ‘crisis’ despite inflation being 10%.
And there was no ‘woke’ either. Or much political correctness. And even the Militant Tendency had not resorted to the ‘outrage tactics’ we see weekly from the Left today.

How many times has the BBC played ‘Delilah’ on its radio programmes?
Why have they and all other radio stations played it without comment over the years?
Why has this not been an issue for the last 55 years?
Can we assume the Bee Gees ‘ I got to get a message to you’ will be similarly denounced? Or is it OK if the murder victim is male?
I think we should be told.
But we won’t of course because it’s just another example of tiny minorities and pressure groups exerting disproportionate influence on woke authorities scared witless at the thought of adverse publicity generated by the ‘Outrage’ fanatics ( excellently shown in Zephir’s Fulani/Sista Space post above at 0253)

Just as at a match between England and a southern hemisphere team some months back he was impartial.
Yes, the BBC cannot even favour England when we are playing a country outside the UK .
But just get ready for the commentators and pundits of the other home nations who, quite reasonably, want their team to win and so in my book are allowed a little partisanship.
For England however, it’s a no-no for the BBC.

I have always had the suspicion that the news on the hour on GBNews more follows Global or the BBC than the rest of the station, although I note the comments about Mark Steyn above and the softening. (Bring back Colin Brazier I say),
This morning I heard on the hour GBNews that the NHS is calling (I think) 12-19 year olds for their covid booster jab. I watch Dr John Campbell on YouTube and he did a cost benefit analysis of the vaccines and I think it is something like a quarter of a million young people would need to have the jab to stop one case of covid needing hospital attention but with a 1 in 800 have a serious reaction to the jab. He used figures either published by the government or in well respected journals.
GBNews said that the NHS was encouraging young people to have the jab whilst they were still eligible. If I was a young person, I would be asking myself, why could I have the jab this month but that the NHS didn’t think I needed to be worried next month?
I am afraid the NHS is now like the BBC. I used to trust both (the BBC lost my trust many years ago, but now I have difficulty trusting the NHS.

I’m sure some people appreciate the shouty style of that kidult ‘Christy’ but I don’t like the ‘vine’ approach to broadcasting … where a learned reasoning presenter talks / explains now gone apart I suppose to that Scot’s chap ….. which I why I dumped GBNews completely ….now it’s music and very small portions of the Far Left anti `British state broadcaster – done out of duty as much as anything else …
..I hate contributing to the listening figures…

We are besieged by Remainers, including highly organised editorial propagandists in the BBC, paid for by our own taxpayers. But it is not just the BBC, but also those in high places in the Civil Service and members of the Diplomatic Service, who are increasingly openly resisting the democratic will of the British people expressed in 2016 and 2019. This includes REUL [the Retained EU Law Bill], and now, we hear, the Prime Minister’s proposals to stop illegal immigration.
The BBC charter is in its midterm renewal and the BBC’s blatant bias will, I trust, be addressed, in that review. One of the main purposes of the BBC charter, which I negotiated with DCMS, is the legal impartiality requirement – and David Keighley and Newswatch are doing great work on all this. As yet, legal impartiality has not yet been enforced, and we need the Government to create an independent enforcement system.
Better still, scrap the bBC altogether.

EU enlargement
Enlargement policy applies to countries currently aspiring to join the EU and potential candidates. The prospect of membership is a powerful stimulus for democratic and economic reforms in countries that want to become EU members.

Something tells me the WRU should concentrate on match winning, not censoring songs that inspire our players. Heads will roll !
Has anyone noticed that all ‘British culture’ is being gradually eradicated and degraded by ‘foreign actors’ ?
Are we being ‘re-educated’ to get rid of our patriotism?
Is our minister for Heritage & Culture etc proud to British ?

First Bill Gates invests heavily in Big Pharma, then says “mRNA vaccines are great, this is the future”. Now Bill Gates sells his Big Pharma stock making a huge amount of money, then says “it could be better, but what we really need is this breath spray”
So Gates has given up on mRNA vaccines and is now investing in ‘Vicks First Defence Nasal Spray’? I suppose Gates is expecting a crash in the price of Big Pharma stock. Caused by Mr Walker, the King of Thailand and the insurance industry.
On Monday sell, sell, sell. It looks like the collapse of Big Pharma comes next week.

I shall post this in spite of me not agreeing with his wet liberal Tory conclusions but he does go some way at least to explaining the issue of whether the ‘Boomer’ generation stole their childrens inheritance.
Alas he makes no mention of the effects of wartime spending which produced the boom of the 1920s and then went on to produce the 1960s boom, nor does he make any link with the move away from gold to fiat currency and massive government money printing which inevitably did affect the rise in property prices.

I’ve never seen any analysis of why certain Right Wing Conservatives turn into wet woke liberals … there’s a whole tranche of them lurking in the shadow of the Lords and ‘think tanks ‘ looking to spend other peoples ‘ Money …
…talking of which – I enjoy the BBC r4 ‘benefits show ‘ Aka ‘money box ‘- where an old Marxist presents demands for free something or other .
Today it was gas . If you choose not to pay your gas bill just say you are ‘vulnerable ‘ and it’s free this and free that . In this context ‘free’ means paid for by you and me . …there must be ‘fuel banks ‘ next to the ‘food banks ‘ and ‘free money bank ‘….
… there was one feature about ‘child benefit ‘ where couples where one was on more that £50k doesn’t qualify for free money or something – I don’t listen but I can hear the tune …

It appears Musk has won his lawsuit brough by investors against him regarding his tweet about taking Tesla private.
He is without doubt a clever man, more clever as a showman and investor than as a scientist whom he uses to develop his idea and bring them to reality.
Many view his acquisition (private acquisition) of Twitter as a mistake, and I have to say I question the timing of it more than the action itself, but most look no further.
Musk has a plan and you can find him talking about it on line but only a facade of it, and that is called “the everything app”.
The everything app would take it his Twitter expertise (not him personally the people he employs), his finance expertise, and his business expertice as well.
The everything app is a concept which would combine a digital passport, identity, and the CDBC into one wallet on a smart device.
With this Musk controlled device you would travel and pay for everything through his app, and that could potentially control almost all the money transactions in the Western World.
It is a brilliant possibility if he can pull it off and would undoubtably place him firmly as the worlds wealthiest man possibly of all time.

WHAT IS A SUPER APP?
A super app, or what Musk refers to as an “everything app,” has been described as the Swiss army knife of mobile apps, offering a suite of services for users such as messaging, social networking, peer-to-peer payments and e-commerce shopping.
These mega apps are widely used in Asia because mobile is the main form of access to the internet for many people in the region, wrote Scott Galloway, a New York University professor of marketing and co-host of tech podcast “Pivot,” last year.

It’s entirely possible that two gangs in a school playground
are both a bit truthful and a bit deceptive.
There is a story doing the rounds today, marked “breaking” that Pfizer and the BBC were both found out of order by the medicines regulator.
The thing is that all happened last year, and the case an the appeal was reported in the Telegraph on 26th of November.
Furthermore for making incorrect statements about the vaccines effect on children there was NO penalty.
Yet on Feb 2nd @UsforThemUK
tweeted BREAKING: UK regulator finds Pfizer boss guilty of misinformation — full case report published.
What’s breaking is @UsforThemUK have done a retrospective article looking back on the case
The verdict is NOT breaking ..it happened 10 weeks ago
There is a video where a breathless woman says she’s just been given permission to speak about the case .. there is no evidence to say that is new
Key part of this new retrospective article
The BBC’s interview and article stayed online.
Even now the interview remains available on the BBC’s website,
despite the PMCPA in effect having characterised it as ‘misinformation’ as far as vaccinating children is concerned.
When news of the appeal outcome was first revealed in November 2022 by a reporter at The Daily Telegraph newspaper …
