“We will never allow any company or individual use the Chinese capital as a stage to wantonly slander the glorious image of the PLA [People’s Liberation Army],” said the Beijing arm of China’s culture ministry.
The size of the fine to the company which booked him was so large that there is speculation that stand-up comedy could be virtually wiped out in China following fears of similar punishment in the future.

I’m not even sure what she has done wrong. We have been told several times now :
‘Labour and the Lib Dems want the PM’s ethics adviser to investigate whether she breached the ministerial code.’
But we are not told what ‘code’ she is supposed to have broken.
As far as I can make out, her ‘crime’ is trying to arrange a private speed awareness course. It’s absolutely insignificant. If you are offered this course, you only just broke the speed limit anyway. In no way did she try to avoid her guilt or cheat anything at all.
Contrast it with what The Guardian arse-cheek are comparing it with:
‘The then Labour MP for Peterborough Fiona Onasanya was ejected from parliament by a recall petition after being found guilty of perverting the course of justice in 2018, by lying to avoid a speeding fine.’
‘Lib Dem minister Chris Huhne resigned from the coalition cabinet in 2012 and ultimately served time in prison over an arrangement in which his wife, Vicky Pryce, had taken speeding points on his behalf 10 years earlier.’
They are absolutely and completely not comparable at all. And how inconvenient for the arse-cheek that none of the actual criminals are Tory.
This kind of thing is why the Leftist MSM – particularly The Guardian and the BBC – disgust me so much. They are dirty, ethically-barren far-left activists cynically hiding behind a false veneer of virtue-signalling and hypocrisy.
