Chris Bryant – the far left queer soon to be red labour minister rises from the silence – he wants Israel to surrender ( aka cease fire ) …. He chats with our Justin .

There is a policy on the Left / BBC of treating Islamic Hamas as an equivalent to Israel .

Meanwhile although Bryant calls for a cease fire he knows and admits Islamic Hamas won’t stop . The twerp ….

Sometimes when you listen to these people you wonder why they can’t just stick to constituency issues rather than expanding their egos on these issues ….

It’s a form of porn. Every day the BBC run the exact same story. People in Gaza are fearful, hungry, injured, in hospital, etc etc etc. feargal Keane was at it this morning in the usual gloomy subdued sorrowful tone of voice. There is absolutely no actual news about this and nothing new to say.. It’s just relentless propaganda.

According to the “sensible” & “clever” people:
Marching through the streets saying genocide chants, shouting “Jihad” & “Intifadas” & flaunted murderous paragliding images = too complicated to condemn.
Suella condemning the above = inflammatory & dangerous rhetoric
      Gaslighting

BBC gets in, or on, who the bbc needs to have on screen.

“In the past, Germany persecuted you. Now, you persecute Palestinians. In this world, do not force others to the corner because you would only be digging your own grave,” wrote the commentator.

“Jews always talk about how badly they were treated during World War II and throughout history. But you can’t ask why. Otherwise, you are called a racist or that you envy their money,” said another commentator in a Weibo post with over 2,000 likes.

Chinese media has also been reprimanding the US for standing “on the wrong side of history on Gaza”. Chinese President Xi Jinping himself has thrown his weight behind Palestine.

Did the BBC report this? If they did, I must have blinked and missed it.

Dozens of high-profile names from across the political spectrum and across the world, signed something called the Westminster Declaration calling for an end to the censorship of free speech, and sent it to Sleepy Joe, Criminal Joe, Corrupt Joe.

It should be big news to the unbiased, freedom-loving BBC, but I didn’t hear a murmur about it from them.

    Here are the opening paragraphs:

“We write as journalists, artists, authors, activists, technologists, and academics to warn of increasing international censorship that threatens to erode centuries-old democratic norms.

Coming from the left, right, and centre, we are united by our commitment to universal human rights and freedom of speech, and we are all deeply concerned about attempts to label protected speech as ‘misinformation,’ ‘disinformation,’ and other ill-defined terms.

This abuse of these terms has resulted in the censorship of ordinary people, journalists, and dissidents in countries all over the world.

Such interference with the right to free speech suppresses valid discussion about matters of urgent public interest, and undermines the foundational principles of representative democracy.

Across the globe, government actors, social media companies, universities, and NGOs are increasingly working to monitor citizens and rob them of their voices. These large-scale coordinated efforts are sometimes referred to as the ‘Censorship-Industrial Complex.’”

The blindfold goes over our eyes … “Islam is peaceful. Just ask Rafiqi
Islam, a loving husband, who told his wife that he had a present for
her, blindfolded her to make it a surprise and then cut off her
fingers. Then the rest of the Islam family mopped up the blood, while
Mr. Islam threw her fingers into the trash, and after a few hours took
her to the hospital where they warned her to tell the doctors that she
      had an accident.”

    Despair at ridiculous news edition

In which we ask – that crisis officially ended? We can confidently reassure readers there’s always another one in the pipeline.

Cards on the table… long-time BBC broadcast current affairs refusenik, eventually forced to go unlicenced (cue applause hereabouts) Mr AsI had to smile recently when listening to The Weekly Sceptic podcast hosted by Nick Dixon and Toby Young.

While reviewing the lastest news from the – restarting after a break (no particular urgency or sense of emergency apparent there then) – official UK Covid-19 Inquiry (tag line: ‘Every Story Matters’) our Toby, being the (relatively mild and considered) Lockdown Sceptic that he is, and prone to a somewhat endearing occasional verbal stutter (his brian* sometimes writing a cheque his tongue takes extra time to honour, as they used to say), fell victim to a couple of innocent slips of the tongue before correcting himself on the podcast, to wit twice referring mistakenly to “The Lockdown Inquiry” as opposed to the official title “Covid-19 Inquiry”

Which amused Mr AsI because it has been transparently clear a priori (as the lawyers put it) that the official Inquiry’s conclusions – albethey to be delivered several years in the distant future – will of course as a natural matter of course come down very much in line with the Sir Keir Starmer formulation for post hoc 2020 Lockdown planning ie “sooner, harder, longer”

Can you put money on these things? Will bookies take a bet on inquiry outcomes?

This official Inquiry is no Lockdown Inquiry (as we discern our Toby’s subconscious would have had it – care of his tongue slipping in a distinctly Freudian manner) Oh no, the costs – economic and psychological, moreover the efficacy of attempts at the internal quarrantine of Lockdown versus a virus, will not be up for debate. Heaven forbid the precise origins, validity of this virus “Pandemic” status, or indeed the actual seriousness of threat and true statistical relative lethality of the Covid. No. No. No.

While our Toby sifts and savours a few sceptical crumbs of cope comfort from the veritable feast of covid alarmism on display at the Inquiry…

Attitudes were clearly signposted from the start: Watch out, you might catch Covid… at the Covid Inquiry! Officials fear people attending its hearings could contract coronavirus, guidelines suggest… Document published last night urges ‘staff and visitors’ to take lateral flow test… People also told they can wear masks if they feel ‘more comfortable’ doing so (Daily Mail, June 2023)

Instead (mixing metaphors in a sudden rushed through untested concoction) we have this Inquiry as yet another platform or playground for familiar axes to be ground…

NHS ‘structural racism’ saw ethnic minority staff not heard on PPE, inquiry told (Independendent)

There’s a grain of true there. Those masks do make it difficult to hear what the wearer is saying. And our many NHS medics with ethnic minority accents are quite often hard for English-speaking patients to understand.

UK Covid pandemic inquiry to open as victims’ relatives condemn ‘farce’… if bereaved families are not able to testify. (France 24, with more than a hint of schadenfreude – as the Germans say)

Opinion: Yes, lockdown was bad for mental health, but not to do it would have been worse… greater freedom would have prevented a lot of psychological harm. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean lockdown was a bad idea, or that the sceptics are right. In fact, less-restrictive lockdown measures may have led to just as many mental health problems, and quite possibly more. (Dr Lucy Foulkes, UCL Psychology & Language Sciences. This article was originally published in The Guardian on 5 July 2021)

There’s your Inquiry conclusions predicted beforehand in a nutshell.

And so to today’s media coverage…

Our flagship coronaphobic title the youth-orientated left-leaning ‘i’ newspaper, despite wars and rumours of war, splashes with: Johnson made it ‘impossible’ for UK to tackle Covid, top adviser says

That was your poundshop, playground, Guardian... the real genuine article is somewhat more measured but still yet injects its poison in a similar vein with a subsidiary headline: Pressure on Johnson over Covid measures

Ah, the Guardian, guaranteed to never rest the agenda nor let the narrative on a story wane: Exclusive Anger at appeal for sacked PCs… Black police ‘pressured’ to donate to officers dismissed over stop and search of athletes

The formerly serious paper of record Times goes with a secondary frontpage story: Vallance’s despair at ‘ridiculous’ Johnson“Ooh Err Missus!”, as the late great innuendo orientated Frankie Howerd, might have exclaimed. And Vallance a chief scientific advisor – surely he must have seen some odd things in his time?

And the modern Times also likes to cater for the ladies – Times2: No sex please we’re under 30… It’s a lust drought – but we digress: The long Covid crisis What really works – it ain’t Britain, apparently: Yes, five million are on out-of-work benefits. Here’s the proof… Every month, an official unemployment figure is put out on a press release – and news organisations are primed to cover it. It’s normally about 1.2 million looking for work: the problem, of course, is so few Brits are actually doing so… The true benefits figure is not to be found on a press release, but buried in a password-protected DWP database with a six-month time lag… 5.4 million on out-of-work benefits. As defined by DWP (Fraser Nelson, The Spectator)

The FT provides one of our treasured little glitch in the matrix moment juxtapositions with the following two reports: Johnson ‘changed direction every day’ as crisis mounted, Covid inquiry learns – it was definitely a gilt-edged official bona fide CRISIS doncha know… beside: Whitehall’s bill for temps and advisors surges 115%… Government spending on temporary workers and consultants soared during the pandemic and has continued to rise since the crisis ended – Your crisis ended? Not to worry. There’ll be another one along soon enough.

The Telegraph has maintained a lonely mildly Lockdown sceptical editorial line but still enjoys the Covid Inquiry raking over the dead embers of the now demised Johnson regime: No10 ‘tried to strong-arm’ Vallance and Whitty over Cummings saga

Our mate Matt of the Telegraph dramatically and with a mind to Halloween season conjures the Scottish Play, drawing just the two witches (there’s cutbacks everywhere these days) beside their cauldron: “After summoning the evil spirits we must delete our WhatsApp messages”

Seems our Nicola and her acolytes could see more clearly into the future than Boris.

    * typo but I left it in as it made me smile.

      2
In towns and cities, flash floods are a growing problem. The concrete jungle can’t soak up rainwater, so in heavy downpours it has nowhere to go except into drains, overloading them and setting off flash floods.

bBC crackheads seem incapable of understanding that if you build on a flood-plain this will lead to more flash-flooding – not least in the flood plain.

I well remember a conversation with a Cranebridge council girlie who was going to be ‘greening’ Cranebridge. Looking at the plans whch seemed to be about building massive numbers of new houses I said the council was allowing building in flood plains. The girlie absolutely denied this was the case. When I mentioned places like Trumpington WATER meadows, or WATERbeach she got very angry with me.

By coincidence, while the awful BBC waffles and yaps about the storm about to kill everyone without a hat, Scrobs remembers that exactly ywenty-three years ago to the day, he wrote off his car in the swollen River Beult on the way home from Canterbury, in the dark!

As I approached the river, which is normally not much more than a big stream, near the ‘Smarden Bell’ pub, I saw the water over the road, and at the same time, I saw the rear lights of a car going away, so I assumed that they’d got through…

But I didn’t, and the car stalled right where the bridge was just visible, and it began to move sideways with the pressure of the flow. The water came up to the seats, and I chucked everything I could on the back shelf, and managed to get out!

Got a bit wet doing that, but waded to safety, and also managed to flag down a good Samaritan in a 4 x 4 who towed me out, but my car was well-dead by then!

Looking at Google Maps, there must have been acres of ground under water at the time, so these recent rains aren’t a patch on what it was like back then!

Andy McDonald: Labour suspends MP after speech at pro-Palestinian rally
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-67268154

Absolutely typical BBC for this one.

This is how they project their bias : they present arguments from both sides, but the ones the BBC agree with (ie that he should not be suspended and did nothing wrong) FAR outweight those saying he is supporting the terrorists.

I used notepad to cut out all the parts implying he was wrong to use the slogan at a Palestinian rally and also those parts defending and supporting him doing it.

Words AGAINST him using the Plaestinian chant : 80
Words DEFENDING/SUPPORTING him using the chant: 264

That is the BBC bias right there. No lies and both sides represented. But one side is represented much more than the other. And it just happens to be the same side we accuse them of supporting since it started.

That’s enough proof for me. And it should be for OFCOM.

He will tell those watching lots of truths that have been kept away from them by the woke teachers and the likes of the bbbc.
Most of them will have been told Nigel is a nasty racist but when they hear him for themselves I bet many will see the light.
It could be good for Nigel financially, politically and in general, good for GB.
It could be bad for all the woke, virtue signalling, dumb, brainwashed left if Nigel gets some truths out in the open.
He’s a very intelligent man and I’m sure he will make a success of this if he does it so I’m backing him if he decides to do this.

I’m wondering if the prominence given his demise is, in part, due to the fact he was a member of the cast in a sitcom appealing to girls in the teen to twenty something bracket, 20-30 years ago – who would now be women in their early 30s to early 50s, a demographic heavily present in the MSM, and whom would appear to be one of the main groups, if not THE main group of modern MSM consumers?

Recently, Kauffman has said the show’s transphobic jokes and portrayal of Helena – played by Kathleen Turner – is the one aspect she’d most like to go back and change.

Friends managed to be simultaneously progressive and regressive. The show famously lacked diversity – yet featured several interracial relationships matter-of-factly. Too often homosexuality was played for laughs,…”

Don’t certain cocktails of drugs and/or booze result in a lot of ‘drownings’ in hot baths? I’m sure there have been quite a few ‘celebrities’ go that way in recent decades.

Given his history, it is extremely likely it is either a consequence of what he did to himself previously (heart attack/seizure maybe) or more likely something which made him unconscious and he slipped into the water.

Friends is one of this sitcoms you are supposed to like in their circles. It’s all about people exploring relationships and feelings. Add in the empathy factor that he was another poor, weak, troubled individual and they paint him as one of life’s victims. Hence this totally disproportionate, virtue-signalling response from the shallow, narcissistic modern BBC staff and other luvvies who wet their panties when someone they idolise as famous is in the news.

Celebrity swimming pool deaths would fill a book, I’m surprised it hasn’t been written already (perhaps it has).
Especially if you don’t limit it to the celebrities themselves but also their relatives and party guests. Just ask Michael Barrymore.

It’s a fact that most celebrity deaths I see in the news who are not old were brought on by themselves. Usually with drugs.

Acting attracts shallow people who crave the attention of others. It’s all part of the package which makes them unable to cope with the trials of real life – hence why so many of them use drugs and/or have mental breakdowns.

The BBC now attracts staff of a sub-level of that same category who are people who would love to be famous but realise they will never be because they don’t have the X factor. Working at the BBC lets them get close to famous people.

I can’t even begin to imagine how sickening the fawning and creeping around the more famous BBC news staff is like. I saw a clip of Emily Matiss ‘at work’ and she strutted around like she was the Queen.

Thanks to whoever posted about the article “How social media fuelled antisemitic violence in Dagestan, Russia” yesterday.

“The protest clearly surprised the security forces, so how did the rioters manage to organise and co-ordinate themselves so effectively?”

They’re not interested in why a rioting mob of violent Muslims is hunting down Jews beyond social media’s role in the matter. Ok on one level it’s just Team Verify doing the only thing they’re capable of doing — browsing the internet in place of any serious analysis that would reveal uncomfortable truths. But it’s a signal of being too scared and stupid to deal with root problems.

As the saying goes, if the only tool you have is a hammer, every problem starts to look like a nail. The hammer of choice these days being censorship and monitoring of both public and private spaces… a managerial layer of sixth-form head girls sanitising the air wherever they go. Streets cleansed of protests and the internet rid of unpleasant thoughts. Braverman wants to clamp down on ‘hate marches’, as if this will solve much of anything. A multicultural vicar’s tea party on the surface, with a roiling mass of anger and bitterness just underneath.

By far the majority of perpetrators were described as ‘Asian’ by victims, yet throughout the entire
period, councillors did not engage directly with the Pakistani-heritage community to discuss how
best they could jointly address the issue.

Some councillors seemed to think it was a one-off problem,
which they hoped would go away. Several staff described their nervousness about identifying the
      ethnic origins of perpetrators for fear of being thought racist;

      others remembered clear direction
from their managers not to do so.
In December 2009, the Minister of State for Children and Families put the Council’s children’s
safeguarding services into intervention, following an extremely critical Ofsted report. The Council
was removed from intervention thirteen months later.

Am looking forward to Netflix releasing an ‘accurate portrayal’ of the Owain Glyndyr story, with Idris Elba an obvious shoe in for the lead role, he might need to work on his accent a little though.

They could call it the ‘Real Prince of Wales’, and they’d be missing a treat if they didn’t include Morgan Freeman as ‘Merlyn’ his wizardly adviser, and Huw Edwards as ‘Lord of the Ring’.

And now the bloodthirsty Nettanyahu says this is a time for war, but that potentially means we here get to die for his blood lust.

Today he has managed to drop a bomb on a refugee camp killing scores of innocent people. We are told Hamas are in tunnels and bunkers underground and safe from any surface bombing, so if the genuine aim is to destroy Hamas it’s not effective.

We now have Russia threatening to send troops into Gaza to stop the IDF murdering innocent civilians, however they are not alone as 90% of the world stand with them.

For all those here who say Hamas are dangerous and need to be destroyed I say this – fine destroy them except this isn’t destroying them, and this is the third of fourth time Israel has done this and they still haven’t destroyed them in the past so it’s demonstrably a failed strategy which is only going to murder innocent people.

Yes Israel has a right to exist yes Israel has a right to defend itself, but if someone doesn’t stop Nettanyahu it’s highly likely that there won’t be an Israel to defend before long.

“drop a bomb on a refugee camp killing scores of innocent people”
It’s very naive to take Hamas press releases at face value.

It might have been a military bunker with no civilians around at all for all we know.

      “refugee camp” is loaded language
but in the Middle East there, it’s not generally a field with tents.
rather it’s a place that started as that 70 years ago, but that is now a city with highrise housing etc.

Hamas would absolutely 100% hide behind those people. It’s why they wouldn’t let them leave.

You can be sure that won’t be mentioned in any BBC reports.

I still cannot fathom why the Left support these terrorists after what they have done. Israel will kill every Hamas member they can find then give it back to the Muslims.

Just imagine what the Muslims would do if THEY had the superior weapons and technology. Every Jew in Israel would be long dead and it would be a Muslim state.

When I saw the picture, I thought the ‘craters’ looked to be an odd shape.

I see now on the BBC that Israel claim to have hit a Hamas HQ and destroyed their undergound bunker – which fits in perfectly with what I see.

So it seems at this point Hamas had a HQ underneath a refugee camp. I wonder how many of the dead are refugees and how many are Hamas. Of course we will never know : the BBC will infer (but not directly say) they are all refugees.

        • Thoughtful says:

I have no issue with Israel mounting a campaign to fill Hamas, but they have followed this same course of action on three previous occasions always saying Hamas will be wiped out and never actually achieving anything other than the deaths of innocent civilians.

As I said previous, I don’t have an issue with Israel, nor it’s people, or it’s right to defend itself. It’s few people in power and a clean slate strategy which doesn’t work.

In the past we weren’t as affected as we will be this time. Our leaders care nothing for us nor our protection – sometimes they don’t appear to even care about their own but this could easily escalate into a nuclear war and I can’t imagine anyone wanting that.
