It my sad task to inform you of the passing of our good friend Halifax .
This message is from Cheryl –
I wanted to let you know, Halifax passed away in 11/07/2024 after a two year courageous battle with cancer.
He was a great believer in this site, and even though, I wasn’t a member, I followed his, and also all your posts.
Halifax changed my way of thinking. He was sooo patriotic, he loved his country. Keep fighting!!
Cheryl.
Cheryl –

Condolences to Cheryl. I was so worried about him during lockdown, one minute telling us he was going to tell us how he was getting on after having caught Covid…then nothing. I understand he was really poorly with that damned virus. I had noticed he wasn’t posting much, and was missing him.

So sorry to hear this news . I’m not too far away in the Calder valley- (my town is the one where It’s always raining, … where we’ve all developed web feet)
I always looked out for Halifax’s posts . I seem to recall, if I’m right, that he mentioned in one of his posts during that awfull covid spell that he was near to the Halifax Hospital. I’ve frequently visited Halifax Hospital and often wondered how he was doing.
My thoughts are with you at this very sad time. RIP Halifax

My, sympathies Cheryl during what must be a difficult time. I’m sorry we’ve lost a true patriot. This site is like a link to sanity. Do post now & again if/when you feel up to it.

This is so sad…
I always read Halifax’s comments, and especially during the covids, when we were all gated and needed some contemplative and erudite discussion.
RIP.

Apart from the odd visit from the “Far Left” ‘Disruptors’, all here are, pretty well, “on the same page” with their views. As indeed Halifax was. And, as I see it, also pretty well in the same age group. All knowing better and less worrying times. I recall the concern here for Halifax during the Covid episode. He suffered.
We don’t know what other family members Halifax had but I sincerely hope he departed in the knowledge that all left will be able to fight courageously in the battles inevitably ahead.
Whenever I reach for one of my pressure paraffin lamps, I will reflect. Boldly stamped with the manufacturers name: “Halifax”.
Rest in Peace Halifax.
