BBC top earners list in full: Highest paid stars revealed for 2023/24
‘The full list of BBC on-air salaries above £178,000 for 2023/24 have been revealed, as published in the corporation’s annual report.

Huw Edwards was the third highest-paid employee on the 2023/24 list, up from fourth last year, which was once again topped by Match Of The Day anchor Gary Lineker, whose salary remained unchanged at between £1,350,000 and £1,354,999.

This is the seventh consecutive year Lineker has topped the list and he continues to be the only star paid more than £1 million.

The salaries of many of the BBC’s most famous faces are not disclosed on the list because the corporation does not have to reveal the salaries….’ !!! (No doubt security reasons, such as where does the BBC get all its money from and why is this allowed to continue)?

In 2022, the ever righteous Angela Rayner blasted then Foreign Secretary Liz Truss for jetting off in the government’s A321 plane to Australia as “obscene”, “brazen” and a “disgusting waste” of taxpayer money for “vanity and comfort”. Odd, then, that her Foreign Secretary David Lammy chose this vile mode of transport to fly to India today…in the exact same plane. Lammy used the government jet to fly to Dubai (to re-fuel) and then on to Delhi. The fuel for Lammy’s trip alone would have roughly cost the taxpayer $111,000. One rule for them…

Returning from Qatar, yet the twat appeared to be “gobsmacked”:

“‘Visitors will get into trouble’: Brutal Qatar laws put World Cup fans at risk. Football fans face being thrown behind bars or flogged over minor offences as they jet out to Qatar for the World Cup.

Boozing, swearing, taking photos and even having sex could all land people jail sentences thanks to “vague” and “confusing” laws in the Muslim Gulf State, Qatar still has capital punishment – and legal medieval punishments include flogging and stoning, although the latter has never been used”.

Lashes have also been dished out for people found drinking alcohol.
Meanwhile, taking photos without permission, flirting, swearing and arguing could also land footie fans in jail.

According to Detained in Dubai, the first person to report behaviour to the police will be taken the most seriously, even if it is completely unfair.

In Qatar, same-sex conduct is punishable by up to seven years in jail as it remains an offence under the Penal Code.

According to Article 296, “leading, instigating or seducing a male in any way to commit sodomy or dissipation” and “inducing or seducing a male or a female in any way to commit illegal or immoral actions” are crimes.

Radha said: “Sex outside marriage is illegal in Qatar so couples who book hotel rooms together are already in violation of the law, simply ‘hoping’ the law won’t be enforced.

“Homosexuality is unlawful and those who share a hotel room could be equally at risk.

“Visiting a destination and ‘hoping’ that illegal acts are not prosecuted puts visitors in a dangerous situation.

“Qatar’s abysmal human rights record means that abiding by the law does not protect visitors from prosecution or wrongful detention.”

  20. Zephir says:

thousands of women fans expected to travel to the Muslim Gulf State in November have been warned they face prosecution if they report offences.

Qatar’s strict Islamic code outlaws all sexual contact between unmarried couples.

This means that even rape victims can be prosecuted for what the state deems as “having sex” outside of marriage.

Around 100 prosecutions a year have been recorded under the strict “zina” laws banning sex and pregnancy outside of marriage.

Even rape victims have been prosecuted after suspects claimed sex was consensual – and handed sentences ranging from seven years jail to flogging with a whip or stick.
In 2016 a 22-year-old Dutch woman, named only as Laura, was convicted of extramarital sex, fined £580 ($A1000) and given a one-year suspended sentence after reporting a brutal rape.

She was drugged in a nightclub in Qatar before being sexually assaulted – but was arrested immediately when she reported the incident.

I don’t always read all the comments here so I may have missed anything here. There has been days of headlines on the Daily Mail about Strictly. I always thought Pernice was a slimy European, not my cup of tea at all. When I used to watch It Takes Two he was fawned over by Zoe Ball or whoever was introducing it. But I don’t think it fair that he has lost his job. Like Bake Off nothing Strictly happens by chance. Partnerships are decided for maximum publicity eg who is most likely to take up with their Professional. The outfits are chosen so when the contestant is coming to the end of their run, from being dressed to look beautiful, they are dressed as a clown and instead of that well known music they have to dance to some boring or unlistenable noise. It doesn’t always go to the BBC plan. I could feel the anger and despair when Anne Widdecombe kept her place week after week.

The professional dancers were paid by results. The further through the competition they got, the more the enormous sum they received. For people who were normally paid very little in their traditional roles, the fame and money must have greatly influenced the pressure they put on their partner. Now there is talk that they might have to end the show. The managers at the BBC can’t cope when things don’t go to plan. Personally, I gave up watching Strictly several years ago and I don’t give a fig.

I think you’re spot on with your assumptions Deb, that little is left to chance on Strictly, we have never been privy to the votes cast for each couple for instance, so it’d be easy to fix the outcome. As for Pernice, regardless of what he’s like as a person, I think he’s a “hot” dancer and been a joy to watch on the floor. I think the format should change, ditch the slebs, and give the public the opportunity to learn to dance.

Does anybody know the actual amount that parents will get for the third child.

This payment is said to be to take a child from poverty to a normal life.
Is it a few hundred a month which would probably make a difference or is it fifteen or twenty pounds extra.

If it’s only a few pounds then it’s a fantastic (almost unbelievable) result if it changes a child’s life from a scruffy Dickensian beggar to a smart, healthy and well educated citizen…. unless the parent(s) use it to buy a packet of fags instead.

There is something very fishy about this whole Manchester Airport video. I’ve watched the 44s and the 2m 20s versions and there are so many things which look fake to me. In fact if you open them in different tabs and watch them together at 1/4 and normal speed you can see the acting even more clearly.

Let’s take the 44s video first.

    1) Just 1 second in, the man on the ground has his head turned away from the boot, however he deliberately turns his head toward the cop so he can see the boot coming.
    2) The woman holding him down starts backing away before the cop aims the kick – she knows its coming because its staged.
    3) The man jerks his head back as the cop kicks him, basic stunt training.
    4) The woman then holds his head in the exact position so when the cop stamps down he deliberately misses the man on the ground.
    5) The woman then deliberately moves the man on the ground into a different position so the cop can kneel down in the correct place. This is so fake its unreal.
    6) The girl cop seems to taser someone (after she’s waited for the camera to point to her). The longer video shows that its a man in a red shirt. However next to him is a man with a beard in a long sleeve black shirt. The camera shows his face and he seems to be very very briefly looking at the camera then looks down at his IPad.
    7) Camera then points back to the main scene, and the other suspect sitting on the yellow chairs with his hands behind his head is clearly gesturing to other people as if to say it’s all ok, stay out of this. He uses one hand then starts frantically waving with both hands at passers by as if to shoo them away.
    8) Then at 17s in the short video, the film quality subtly changes.
    9) The cops then order the seated man onto the floor. Just as he gets up, the woman stands up and calmly moves toward him, apparently unconcerned that the first man has apparently been kicked and stamped. One of the cops pretends to hit him with a yellow thing (possibly a taser) but quite clearly deliberately misses him.
    10) Then, in the longer video, the man in the red shirt, who just a few seconds earlier appeared to be a target for tasering, is shown calmly being allowed to move suitcases out of the way to give the cops more room. He’s also holding what looks like a mobile in his right hand.
    11) In the shorter video the man with the long sleeve dark shirt then exits the scene and appears to be smiling.
    12) The man originally kicked and stamped on appears remarkably unharmed throughout.
    13) There are several scenes where the people involved suddenly start doing something when the camera starts pointing at them.

It just doesn’t look right. And the timing of this is curious as well, as are the various press releases. Tin hat time I think.

Army Officer stabbed multiple times in frenzied attack my Muslim (not confirmed but 99% certain simply because they haven’t told us anything except ‘not terror related’):
    BBC Article:
‘The stabbing is not being treated as terror-related.’ and ‘exploring the possibility that the incident may have been “mental health-related.”‘.

How many times have we seen this kind of cover-up to stop us knowing when violent Muslims try to murder us ?.

And why is a Muslim attack only ever ‘terror-related’ and never ‘terrorist’ ?. And even then, it’s only ‘terror-related’ when they can link it to a global terrorist organisation.

It’s most likely he tried to murder this soldier because we have stood up against Muslim terrorists in other countries. Which makes him a 100% terrorist in my eyes.

This is the world we live in now. We are constantly being told by the BBC how racist we are – yet they are the most racist of anybody. If someone was hiding what white people did but calling Muslims every name under the sun, they would be outraged.

I’m long past the stage of being shocked by the lies spread by the MSM , not just the BBC but the entire MSM. In the past five or so years I have belatedly come to realise that the Telegraph and Spectator may have a cosmetic right leaning stance but will always put Globalism before the national interest.
The destruction of the nation state as the building block of the international world is key to the triumph of Globalism. Hence they will support anything which undermines patriotism and belief in your own nation.
Re write history, change the population, create a homogeneous country and world, bombard folks with propaganda 24/7, remove power from the national government and transfer it to supra national bodies , create an unelected , unaccountable Supreme Court to ensure that the people’s elected representatives can’t implement a nation first agenda. All of these are all well advanced in the UK.
We are watching our country dissolve before our eyes and I fear that there is little that democracy can do to stop it let along reverse it. We need help from outside.
However, one point baffles me. Why are the Globalists so tolerant of Islam? Surely they don’t think that their liberal Globalist creed and Islam will get along in the future!

Biden to tell US it was time to ‘pass the torch’ to Harris
    https://www.bbc.com/news/live/c29d236xxy7t#player

I only went intot his to see if I could catch Joe speaking live – and I found one the BBC’s very slippery articles where nothing was quite as I expected.

They even devote a large paragraph questioning why Trump calls her ‘Kuh-MAL-uh’ or ‘KAH-mala’ !.

    As usual, Trump nailed it:
‘”She’s much worse than him,” he says of Harris, calling Biden a “fake liberal” whereas Harris, he says, is a “real liberal”.’

Anyway, the reason I wanted to see the video was to see if Joe does it live. The BBC tell me: ‘Watch Biden’s address live’ which infers it is, but doesn’t actually say it – which would be ‘Biden’s live address’. But they clearly want me to think it’s live.

That deception appears through the whole article – so it is definitely another directive to make us implicitly believe it is indeed live.

I have a very strong inclination that it’s a complete lie and the whole thing has been pre-recorded.

Oh – he’s started. My goodness, it looks pre-recorded and the best they could do is still terrible. He can hardly get 4 words out without messing it up even though he is staring intently at the teleprompter. He’s even worse than we thought. And it’s so clearly very carefully rehearsed – just like Greta Thunberg. He’s like some kind of malfunctioning robot – I’m half expecting sparks to come out of his ears.

The self-adulation and rhetoric is sickening. I can’t watch any more. It’s as far from Presidential as you can get. Let’s see if the BBC agree …

Enemies of the US – whether china or america – must be deciding which way the election is going to go . If trump can beat the fix I’m sure they’ll be more worried about him that the Obama puppet .

Biden claimed the US was not at war during his time – and no one had done that before – but I thought Trump had a presidency without US coffins coming back from somewhere …
I wonder is Obama will wait and see how the cackler gets on and tells Biden to resign if she needs a boost ….. ?

The giveaway would be the minute hand.

I would say 0% chance it was live, but recorded not long before hence we get lots of slurring and struggling but no major meltdowns. Their problem is it had to be one continuous take as it was supposed to be live.

Some of the things he was saying were downright sickening. 100% lies. The Republicans are the ones full of hate and he is the honest one representing everything good : honesty, decency etc etc. He even took credit for curing cancer (not yet of course, but he assured us he will).

The BBC have (of course) edited the clip they show us. The first part is where he doesn’t really say anything but doesn’t have any of the slurring the real speech is full of. Then they switch to another clip – and to make sure you get the message, they add their own caption on the video saying ‘Praises Harris as tough, capable’. Have you got that everybody ?.

        What a joke.

The ones not wearing masks tell us everything we need to know.

The truth of this matter – whether you admit it to yoursel for not – is that these people are simply bringing their violent culture to the UK. Just look at how they behave in Pakistan : put a rumour out on social media that someone burned a Koran and a mob will arrive to murder the accused without trial and also members of their family if they can.

This is why the BBC sicken me so much. They are in complete self-denial because they cannot comprehend how their ideological agenda has failed. If we give them everything they demand, why aren’t they just like us ?. Their solution is to give them more.

It reminds me of a crisis once at BAE SYSTEMS where the end result by management of a project running late because there were not enough people actually doing the job was to add more management.

The Left destroy everything they interfere with.
They go against nature and lose every time. Often ending up with them using the ‘final solution’ to rid themselves of those they don’t like when things go badly.

Like the Left just tried with Trump but missed.

Apparently the plane he travels in is the most likely way they will try next – but that takes special skills and can’t be blamed on a 20 year old kid.

Speaking of which, have you noticed how little the MSM are making of the fact he had a 2 remote-controlled ‘bombs’ in his car ?. Seems way too much preperation and skill for a 20 year old to manage along with all the other planning to me, never mind the cost : I have a feeling he was supposed to detonate it when making his escape to destroy all evidence. Why else would he do that ?.

Anything a bit odd which the BBC don’t talk about is always a sure pointer that there is something they don’t want us to know. I can only find a ‘breaking news’ about suspicious devices in his car then nothing at all.

“Did DEI crash 8.5M computers? CrowdStrike probed for sidelining its white, male coders.

CrowdStrike hit with complaint over ‘unlawful’ diversity-hiring initiatives. The cybersecurity firm promotes staff based on sex and skin color, not merit.
AFL lawyer Dan Epstein said there was plenty of evidence that the $3-billion-a-year firm, which is headquartered in Austin, Texas, used ‘race as a basis for advancement in employment.’

Public statements by CrowdStrike executives showcase ‘values in favor of racial discrimination over the true diversity of thought and opinion’ and indicated ‘unlawful activity’ by the firm, Epstein added.

AFL’s complaint letter on Wednesday highlights the company’s track record in hiring and promoting women or minority employees — rather than the best managers, coders and other staffers.
It points to the DEI pages on CrowdStrike’s website, and it’s ‘commitment to building a diverse workforce’ through mentorship and ‘internal development programs’ aimed at women and minorities, when no such schemes exist for white men. These include so-called ’employee resource groups,’ which separate workers along racial, gender and sexual identity lines

It points to comments from CrowdStrike executives about equity and inclusion, including the former DEI chief Sheree Haggan’s push for a ‘progressive atmosphere that promotes black diversity.’

‘The company’s self-described, ongoing employment practices are patently unlawful, deeply harmful, and immoral,’ says the letter. ‘Decades of case law hold that — no matter how well-intentioned — policies that seek to impose racial balancing are prohibited.'”

I worked in a large software team at BAE SYSTEMs for a fighter jet main-computer. Part of my job was integrating the software onto the target hardware and make it work. So I often went to the main software team to explain what was wrong and how to fix it so it worked with other peoples software. After a while you earn respect and people accept what you say without argument.

That was until a female subcontractor was taken on. Talk about stubborn and arrogant. When I went to her with a bug in her code, it wasn’t ‘OK, I see what’s wrong. I’ll change it and update it in the formal system’ like everybody else did. It was ‘Who are you to tell me to change my software’. She was a nightmare because she couldn’t accept being told she had made an error and her code didn’t work. In the end, the boss had to tell her ‘just change it like he says’.

I reminds me of that office which was staffed entirely by women. It failed spectacularly because of the bitching and backstabbing. I can imagine I got plenty of knives in my back from that woman.

I suspect there is only a certain type of woman who wants to work in a technical field like software development in teams which are almost exclusively male. And they are the sort I just described. So I can easily believe DEI was 100% the root cause of the problem.

We live in an age where the Left and Feminists (who are mostly just misandrists) will not accept any suggestion that men and women are different. They are. Nature made them like that because that is how we evolved to be top of the tree. Men are better at some things, women are better at others.

Absolutely! And viva la difference! As I’ve said many a time, as a heterosexual male, I adore women, and the fact they aren’t like us blokes!

All day I work in an office full of sweaty, farty, belching, ugly, ugly, rude men (no offence colleagues), what a relief to go home and spend some time with my lovely, charming wife, but at the same time, she’d be hopeless in my work environment.

What I don’t understand are those who think there is anything ‘wrong’ with those differences, it’s what mother nature intended, and a partnership of male and female, ying and yang, is a powerful combination.

I’ve realised this is what the BBC want. They NEED a social divide between Left and Right in order to fight their ideological war. All of these stories are intended to promote hate between BAME/Lefties and the Right.

It’s a sprint to the finish line as we wend our way through this edition

Yesterday Mr AsI joked about our media’s penchant for sharks and nazis… speak of the devil, as they say…

Jaws swims up the Thames… A shark has been spotted wending its way up the Thames in London – ‘wending’ – get her – (Charles Wade-Palmer, Chrondrichthyes Correspondent, Daily Star) – well we want our rivers cleaned up so they can support wildlife

And, I suppose it makes a change from: PMQs: Oxfordshire MP makes first question about Thames Water… stood up to question Sir Keir Starmer about “sewage dumping” from Thames Water (Oxford Mail)

It never rains but it pours

Thames Water risks fine after junk rating… credit rating was slashed to junk status… no longer meets licence conditions imposed by the regulator Ofwat… at potential risk of a fine of up to 10 per cent of its turnover (Telegraph) – and what possible good would that do – other than help force the failing company into state ownership?

And as the jokey blokey red top Daily Star goes all fancy pants, what with their double-barrelled Chrondrichthyes correspondent and their wending…

So our BBC goes cor blimey tabloid about a bit of weather: UK getting more hot and more wet days – Met Office… Climate change is dramatically increasing the frequency of extreme high temperatures in the UK, new Met Office analysis has confirmed (BBC)

Not to worry, King Chas and Sir Keir have got all this climate change malarkey pegged: King Charles, energy tycoon… Crown Estate strikes deal with Labour on GB Energy (‘i’)

Labour plans thousands of offshore wind turbines (Times)

Remind me, how does that old BBC/NGO/campaign pressure group commentary go? Oh yeah, that’s it “doesn’t go far enough”…

Revealed: rich western countries lead global gas and oil expansion (Guardian) – it’s summer time and we’ve had a few warm days so it must be time for a big global warming push.

World breaks hottest day record twice in a week (BBC)

Speaking of propaganda: What one Moscow square says about Russia’s worsening relations with West… Moscow’s Europe Square renamed Eurasia Square… It’s a little change that says a lot about the direction in which Russia is moving: away from the West… There were once dozens of flags of different European countries flying here. They were removed last year, and now the name’s gone too. Goodbye Europe; hello Eurasia (Steve Rosenberg, BBC, Moscow Correspondent) – honestly folks, The past has never been altered. Oceania was at war with Eurasia. Oceania had always been at war with Eurasia – there’s one for our Orwell scholars hereabouts.

I wouldn’t diss Russia all the time Steve. If it weren’t for Russia we wouldn’t have Boney M’s Rasputin and what a loss that would be. And can you imagine a world without Babooshka by Kate Bush?

Our Steve makes a valid philosophical point here: But at the end of the day, does a name really matter? Following the 1917 Russian Revolution so many streets and squares in Russia were renamed to feature the word “communism”. Did it help the Soviet Union build communism? Not in the slightest

However, closer to home (and maybe it’s because I’m a Londoner): Sadiq Khan launches £25,000 grants to change street names in London… The grants form part of a £1m ‘Untold Stories’ fund to help champion diversity in the city (Time Out, 2021)

The FT knows what it likes and would dearly love to see more women in top jobs: Standard bearer… Venezuela opposition leader rallies support as challenge to Maduro mounts… Maria Corina Machado waves a Venezuelan flag – fun with flags, eh? For a moment there I thought the FT’s frontpage feature picture was the Latin American nation’s Olympic opening ceremony flag-bearing parade squad. The globalist FT prefering the oil rich western hemisphere country to our very own: Flying the flag… The rower Helen Glover and the diver Tom Daley… – that’s your Team GB – as featured on the cover of the rather more parcochial Times, Mirror, ‘i’ and Star

Meanwhile the only national banner on the frontpage of the Guardian is inevitably the old red, green, white and black: Protests as Netanyahu addresses Congress

Not that the Gruan particularly admire the sport but I’m sure they’ll find some identity political angle sooner or later. Meanwhile it’s not all living up to their diversity kumbayah one-world love-in high standards: Inauspicious start? crowd trouble halts first Olympic football match

In case you wondering if England fans were up to their old tricks – au contraire: Morocco beat Argentina 2-1 in chaotic opening game of 2024 Olympics marred by crowd trouble… equaliser sparked objects being thrown onto the pitch and players were taken off for their safety as Morocco fans invaded the pitch in Lyon… VAR disallowing Argentina’s stoppage-time equaliser after players returned to field to complete game in empty stadium… After almost two hours without play (Sky Sports) – I know VAR can be slow but that’s ridiculous.

Where were we before we digressed for fun with flags? Ah yes, the FT’s preferential taste for a female in a top job…

Karma, karma, karma, karma, karma chameleon
You come and go, you come and go
Loving would be easy if your colours were like my dreams
Red, gold, and green, red, gold, and green

Karma, karma, karma, karma, karma, Kamala Harris

Harris taps party’s burst of energy for election sprint (FT) ‘sprint’ ? – watch out for those many Olympic-flavoured sports analogies to come in the race for the presidency.

Biden tells US it’s time to ‘pass the torch’ to Harris (BBC) – told you so.
