Midweek 21st August 2024

Well the blob is well and truly on holiday – this year it is two tier themed – the reds and their BBC executives are in their villas figuring out how to victimise the British even more … more taxes – more control – more censorship … it’s a happy ship for them . But can I- as volunteer moderator – thank so many people contributing to this site – for their restraint in such ‘challenging ‘ times …cheers . We must continue to witness what is being done to a once Great Country .

Britain is leading global efforts to tackle the climate crisis 🇬🇧
That’s why I’m in Brazil – an important partner in the fight against climate change, to see how we can work together on this shared challenge 🇧🇷

It has also seen the sudden disappearance of the ravings of the Climate Doom Zealots from our National News media….

The BBC wouldn’t behave like that thought Jonny ‘Dalek’ Dymond. Oh yes, they doI I’ve already highlighted how the BBC unnecessarily flew Emma Vardy to Chicago, when Sarah Smith and Justin Webb were already there to report on the DNC Convention. The subject considered by Jonny was the choice of the new Starbucks CEO to commute from Califonia to Seattle and back again by private corporate jet.

Man arrested after 53-year-old’s fatal stabbing
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c2kjzzx3qego

Big picture of the white victim.
No mention of anything about the savage who stabbed him.

Because his name is Yasar Hussain.

The BBC’s gross double-standards to stop people knowing the identities of Muslim immigrants who commit vastly disproportionate numbers of murders – particularly by stabbing – make me sick.
Meanwhile someone shouting at the police get sent to prison is fully identified and made into front-page, headline news at the BBC if he is white and right-wing.

No doubt they will update this article later after the story goes cold.

The Leftists ideology is a cancer based on gross double-standards and the most monumental hypocrisy. I have no respect for these people whatsoever. They are so brainwashed by groupthink, I wonder how many of them actually realise what they are.

And this story – which is absolutely relevant to the wider Muslim community – from The Independent will never appear on the BBC these days because they are now at war with the Right:

‘Dad convicted of beating teen daughter to death during fight about prom’
      https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/crime/dad-guilty-murder-daughter-prom-b2599008.html

‘An Illinois man was convicted of beating his 17-year-old daughter to death during an argument after he told her that she was not allowed to go to the prom.’
‘A jury found Mohammed Almaru, 42, guilty of first-degree murder on Friday’
Not letting us know is far more important to the BBC than the fact this man beat his own daughter to death as an ‘honour killing’.

Mr Lynch once owned a company call Autonomy. He sold it to HPE for a lot of money, making an estimated $500 million for himself. HPE subsequently cried foul, claiming that its value had been intentionally over-inflated. They took a write-off of several billion dollars over this. Mr Lynch and his colleague Stephen Chamberlain were accused of fraud and subsequently extradited to the United States. They were eventually acquitted of any wrong doing. At the weekend, Mr Chamberlain was hit by a car and subsequently died a few days later. At the same time, Mr Lynch dies in a yachting accident.

Obviously it’s all a total coincidence, although it would make a very good plot for a movie…

The former footballer, 41, has been taken off air from both primetime shows.

BBC News understands his contract was terminated because of alleged issues relating to workplace behaviour, after issues involving digital communications such as texts were raised with the corporation a few weeks ago.”

Jenas earned £190,000 – £194,999 at the BBC for his work on the FA Cup, Match of the Day and the World Cup.

He and a friend set up the Aquinas Foundation to help incentivise and raise the aspirations of young people in schools across Nottingham

“Rep. Mike Waltz says he isn’t convinced Donald Trump shooter Thomas Crooks acted alone in assassination attempt.

Waltz queried how federal law enforcement can confidently say Crooks was a lone wolf if they can’t answer other questions like why he had multiple foreign encrypted messaging accounts.

His comments came after it was revealed that Iran was also plotting an attempt on the former president’s life around the same time that Crooks carried out his plan.

‘The more we get into it, the more questions I have,’ Waltz said. ‘It’s really what’s coming out around it that is so disturbing.

‘And for me, the thing that’s most disturbing is that we have ongoing plots from Iran to take out a former president, leading candidate, and that a Pakistani national was just arrested after making a down payment for hitmen, and it’s barely even being covered in the news.’

‘I don’t know of many 19-year-old kids who could make multiple IEDs with a remote detonator on their own,’ Waltz told DailyMail.com. ‘Why didn’t that get picked up if he’s searching that online or buying literature on how to do that?’

Rep. Waltz says while federal agencies and congressional committees are scrutinizing the USSS over the attempted assassination, there are more concerning details emerging that make the attack even more ominous.

That includes the revelation of the Iranian plot to assassinate Trump around the same time as the Crooks attempt. Crooks had encrypted messaging accounts on platforms based in Germany, Belgium, and New Zealand. ”

Now that would be a popular jailing. This from the Free Speech Union:

Did Sir Keir Starmer just breach the Online Safety Act?

Toby Young joined Patrick Christys on GB News to discuss the breaking story that a Pakistani web developer has been arrested under the country’s Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, accused of being the first person to falsely claim the Southport attacker was an “asylum seeker”.

Farhan Asif reportedly worked for news aggregation website Channel3Now and has been charged with cyber terrorism.

As Toby says, this development suggests Sir Kier Starmer’s initial claim that the riots were instigated by ‘far-Right’ activists in the UK was itself fake news.

It was partly due to this ‘misinformation’ that counter-protesters – for the most part Muslim men – gathered in the affected areas and, in some cases, attacked innocent people they wrongly identified as ‘far-Right’ agitators.

In short, the Prime Minister may now be guilty of an offence under the Online Safety Act 2023, namely, knowingly publishing false information that has had a harmful effect.

Der Starmer saying he will tackle knifecrime would be gaslighting because he does everything to increase it.

The bBC Verify unit would be another example of gaslighting because rather than get at the truth as they claim they lie with every single Hertz they blast out on the electromagnetic spectrum

I’m trying to figure out where the overall madness came from . How many sane western countries are there ? Any.? . Ok – discount the big cities which are gonna be mad anyway – but just general madness …
Did it form in the 60s? As the post war gloom was shaken off ? As the loopy hippy type movement came along ? And that mad generation grew up and is now in charge ?
Is it the Jews / communists / masons / WEF ? Too much red meat ? Oil? Mass communication ?

Maybe the madness has just been magnified by the internet / smart phone – where people now know stuff which before was impossible to know …
That surely would be an explanation for the kidult / woke phenomenon and national self harm….

The problem is that we deal and talk about the consequences – the horrors of the killings – the evil – the suffering – physical – mental – emotional – financial – but can’t see a source ….

… maybe it was a grand kgb plan to undermine the west be importing mad ideas – destroying from within with unrestricted immigration or discouraging people to do anything useful and become diversity managers , HR , teachers , consultants , juournos , footy pundits .,

It may be harder than ever these days to get to see your local GP, even for a brief consultation – but our mainstream press are more than happy to prescribe…

Why is it only rich can get Alzheimer’s wonder drug? – wonders the Daily Express: Up to 70,000 people in England who would have been eligible will be denied lecanemab – this from the title which acted as main platform for Esther Rantzen’s euthenasia campaign – so you know the Express is expert in medical ethics.

Alzheimer’s drug is blocked for use by NHS… disregarded the cost to families and; Alzheimer’s drug deemed too expensive for the NHS – echo both our formerly fiscally conservative Telegraph and Times

The ever-excitable Daily Mail would have our quacks furiously scribbling out chits: Fury as dementia drug denied to patients on NHS… licenced for use – only for NICE to say benefits are ‘too small’ to justify £30,000-a-year cost

That’ll be: The National Institute for Heath and Care Excellence (NICE) the quango that decides which treatments are provided on the health service (Telegraph) – I think they must have got George Orwell in to advise on that wonderful acronym – after his sterling work for the Ministry of Love.

But don’t run away with the idea our press are some wild west snake oil medicine man prescribing just the one remedy as a universal cure all.

Jab hope in fight against lung cancer… injection ready to be administered… a new jab primes the immune system (freebie giveaway Metro)

Let me guess… The vaccine is made by BioNTech using the same mRNA technology that underpinned its highly effective COVID jab. (Sky News) – yep, thought so. Highly effective, eh? As we’ll hear later from a former footballer having just been given the boot by our BBC: there’s two sides to every story.

You see on the one hand our media buy heavily into the initial hype around these new wonder drugs – what spiffing headlines they do make – then when the treatments prove too expensive for our ailing NHS to administer willy nilly to all and sundry it is inevitably a hard landing for our press outlets which expounded their virtues so voluably to their gullible readership.

Then there’s the notion that we’re running a therapeutic state here – a notion which set in with a vengence heavily reinforced by the full weight of a recent Downing Street adminstration and fully backed by our present incumbent – sooner harder longer 2TK.

The FT regrets: AstraZeneca threatens vaccine plant shift to US after Reeves weighs aid cut… Labour bid to slash £90mn pledge – money suddenly gone lesser, scarcer, stingier…?

In what you might call full disclosure: AstraZeneca established its vaccines unit after partnering with the University of Oxford to develop a Covid-19 vaccine. It withdrew the vaccine in May of this year, saying demand had fallen in favour of other vaccines… The vaccine was safe and effective overall but confidence in the jab took a hit in 2021 after a series of rare blood-clotting incidents that led European authorities to limit its use among younger populations (FT)

Predictably, the fully in-the-tank for Labour titles forget the Alzheimer’s drug news on their frontpages. The tabloid Mirror goes with a one-worder as BBC Match of the Day (despite Huw and his rainbow underpants being merely sin bined on full pay) shows Jermaine Jenas the straight red card: Sacked

The Guardian meanwhile is banging on about: Concern over ‘attainment gap’ as GCSEs return to pre-Covid levels

This is of course part and parcel of Equality of Outcome and all shall have prizes thinking. The Guardianista won’t be satisfied until everyone gets an A-star – or they all get Ds – either way is fine.

But let me just do my customary edit on their headline: Concern over ‘attainment gap’ as GCSEs return to pre-Covid pre-Lockdown levels – closure of schools was a questionable policy choice – if only there were some form of judge-led currently sitting official inquiry that could look into that.

The left-leaning poundshop junior Guardian that is the ‘i’ newspaper has the chutspah to put the contrary case: Drug to slow Alzheimer’s won’t be available on NHS – note how we’ve gone fron from wonder cure to sinply slowing the disease.

Why costly medication may not be best way to help people with dementia – this rather extraordinary argument coming from the typically hypochondriac, formerly-coronaphobic ‘i’

Our BBC would have us worry over: NHS prosthetics holding athletes back from getting more golds, says Paralympian – not top of most people’s list of gripes about our nationalised health service but hey-ho.

A typical household’s annual energy bill will rise by £149 in October under the new price cap. (BBC) – not much of a cap then is it?

Hundreds of Britons advertise for suicide partner (BBC) – No, not an advert for the Daily Express assisted dying campaign.

This is yet another story in line with the officially sanctioned mounting drumbeat for censorship of the internet

“It’s a very dangerous place”… a dark version of a dating app…We are not naming the site or giving details about methods of suicide recommended there. (Angus Crawford & Tony Smith, BBC Investigations correspondent & Senior investigations producer)

And finally, we retrun to the BBC’s latest (if not their greatest) HR problem of late…

…following complaints about workplace conduct… Responding to the news, Jenas said there were “two sides to every story” (BBC) – True dat, Jermain, true dat. Ain’t that a fact.

What you may find, is drug companies are very good with statistics explaining results of their studies accompanying their marketing of new drugs and their efficacy, whilst also downplaying the side effects. Prescribers are not necessarily so experienced in analysing these studies.

“Bad Science” a website and book by Ben Goldsmith explains more.

      https://www.badscience.net/books/bad-pharma/

The horrendous side effects and addictive potental of anti depressants versus their efficacy is a case in point. Doctors and drug companies rarely look beyond medication as an alternative, non pharmaceutical supplements also do not have the resources to undertake studies required to prove their efficacy either.

      But, as an example :

” Physical activity is 1.5 times more effective at reducing mild-to-moderate symptoms of depression, psychological stress, and anxiety than medication or cognitive behavior therapy, according to the study’s lead author, Dr. Ben Singh.

A large new analysis of meta-studies finds that exercise is more beneficial for conditions such as anxiety and depression than standard psychotherapy or medications.
The new study found that essentially all forms of exercise produced significant mental health benefits.
Shorter, high intensity exercise programs produced the greatest effect.”

      https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/is-exercise-more-effective-than-medication-for-depression-and-anxiety
Exercise provided the greatest mental health benefit to people with depression, or who had been diagnosed with HIV and kidney disease, pregnant and postpartum women, and otherwise healthy adults.

How do the world’s biggest drug companies compare, in their transparency commitments?

So what did we find? The results on the individual companies are important, but we also came across some fascinating patterns. While companies superficially have commitments to register and report clinical trials, in reality, there are often huge gaps in their policies, with many failing to include past trials (trials on the medicines we use today) and trials on off-label uses or unlicensed medicines, which are both important. We also found a huge range of commitments, which is exactly what audits are good for: identify who’s doing well, and who’s doing badly, so that everyone can learn from the best players. Lastly, as we went along we collected some fascinating examples of problematic policies, ambiguous language, inconsistent commitments, odd exclusions, and so on.

Bad Pharma (4th Estate, 2012) is my book about the misuse of evidence by the pharmaceutical industry, especially the way that negative trial data goes missing in action, and how easy it would be to fix this.

Review from British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology:

“Ben Goldacre’s book, Bad Pharma: how drug companies mislead doctors and harm patients, is the latest of several books and articles in recent years to level criticisms at the way the pharma industry and regulatory authorities operate; criticisms that need to be taken seriously, revealing faults that need to be corrected. It makes uncomfortable reading. Goldacre chooses his targets well and shoots at them with well-documented examples, some of them truly shocking, many of them uncovered only after persistent and tenacious probing of reluctant sources. These are tales of secrecy, dishonesty, bribery and corruption that make for a compelling read, couched in prose reminiscent of scandalous revelations in the tabloid press. To the question of style, we will – as Goldacre himself so often says, to keep his readers hooked – come back later.

The main target in the Goldacre cross-hairs is nondisclosure of data, particularly data from clinical trials. It is well recognized that negative or unfavourable clinical trials results are much less likely to be published than positive findings. The blame lies not only with the pharmaceutical companies, but also with journal editors, who judge that reports showing no significant benefit of a treatment compared with placebo do not deserve journal space. It proves difficult even for regulatory authorities and official advisory bodies, such as the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence, to unearth unfavourable data from company-sponsored trials. Goldacre cites the example of the antidepressant reboxetine, on which only one trial was published, out of seven in which it was tested against placebo. The published trial showed it to be effective; the other six, on many more patients, remained unpublished. Other unpublished trials, in which it was compared to selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, suggested, contrary to the conclusions of the few published trials, that it was less effective, and had worse adverse effects, than these drugs. This is the best chapter in the book and is forceful, well argued and backed by detailed examples.”

The statisticians could even calculate the diminishment of that possibility based on that reduction per every ‘rubber boatie’ entering the UK. Same for NHS dentists.

The word “doxing” (also spelled “doxxing”) is derived from the term “dropping dox,” or “documents.” Doxing is a form of cyberbullying that uses sensitive or secret information, statements, or records for the harassment, exposure, financial harm, or other exploitation of targeted individuals.

Not to be confused with the noun doxy
an immoral or sexually promiscuous woman, especially a prostitute. A mistress.

Although sometimes a doxy can dox.

“Did a Washington Post journalist unfairly dox the woman behind the Libs of Tik Tok Twitter account, or did they merely do their job by exposing influential and potentially harmful political actors?

On Tuesday, Washington Post (Lean Left bias) technology reporter Taylor Lorenz stirred controversy by publishing an article in which she revealed the name of the woman behind @LibsofTikTok, a popular conservative Twitter account that has been amplified by prominent figures such as Fox News’ Tucker Carlson (Right bias), podcaster Joe Rogan, and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ press secretary.

Some, especially on the right, argued that the Washington Post’s expose was unfair and constituted “doxxing,” which is the act of publicly revealing private personal information about a person or organization online. Conservative activist and Human Events (Lean Right bias) senior editor Jack Posobiec accused the outlet of “doxxing and smearing” the account holder.”

TOADY Watch #1 – are the BBC becoming The Society for Pismronunciation of Words and Names?

They were at it again on TOADY this morning. Even the female news reader got her name wrong! Who? The Democrat nominated to run for President. A little lesson BBC, although you should not need it because it is rumoured that you have a ‘Pronunciation Unit’ that is around 100 employees strong. Your BBC employees even get ‘Meeshal’ Husain’s name wrong, often calling her Michelle.

Here is a little lesson for Beeboids, everywhere, just in case Kamala Harris wins in November. Kamala rhymes with Pamela. Harris’s name is not pronounced Karmarla or even Karmerlar, it is Kamala. Beeboids, just think ‘Pamela’ when you say her first name.

Here is another tip for the D-G at the top: why not make employees redundant from the Pronunciation Unit as they do such a bad job? You are going to have an inflation problem soon in the UK economy as the Labour Government mismanages the economy. You might not get the Licence Fee settlement that you need because the Labour Government may fight shy of making inflation worse. So cutting the BBC bloated workforce is a way of saving money as less people will be able to afford the Licence Fee.

    Simples.

It’s a beautiful thing, the destruction of words. Of course the great wastage is in the verbs and adjectives, but there are hundreds of nouns that can be got rid of as well. It isn’t only the synonyms; there are also the antonyms. After all, what justification is there for a word which is simply the opposite of some other words? A word contains its opposite in itself. Take ‘good,’ for instance. If you have a word like ‘good,’ what need is there for a word like ‘bad’? ‘Ungood’ will do just as well–better, because it’s an exact opposite, which the other is not. Or again, if you want a stronger version of ‘good,’ what sense is there in having a whole string of vague useless words like ‘excellent’ and ‘splendid’ and all the rest of them? ‘Plusgood’ covers the meaning, or ‘doubleplusgood’ if you want something stronger still…In the end the whole notion of goodness and badness will be covered by only six words–in reality, only one word. Don’t you see the beauty of that, Winston?

I receive the Jewish Chronicle daily briefing following the attacks on October 7th .

I think their opening today was almost worthy of the BBC.

“Israelis would replace Benjamin Netanyahu and make Naftali Bennett prime minister if he re-entered politics, a new Channel 12 poll suggests. An as-yet nonexistent party led by Bennett would become the largest in the Knesset, winning 21 seats, according to the poll. This would see the right-wing Likud, led by Benjamin Netanyahu, drop to 19 seats, while Benny Gantz’s centrist National Camp would fall to 13 seats.”

So a man who isn’t even in politics (apparently) in a party that doesn’t exist, would win a specific number of seats and so out the existing government says the poll. I know nothing of Channel 12 and how its journalists are aligned, and how good their polling is. It is the sort of thing that is hardly worth reporting, unless the author wants the result the poll is predicting.

    HOW COULD SHE HAVE KNOWN….

The BBC news headline shows they are agonising and twitching over what to do, or say ,about the new energy price cap announcement.

Obviously they don’t want to be seen as criticising the new Labour government and keep making the point that so many pensioners are so stinking rich they don’t need the winter fuel allowance . The BBC seem to have opted for a” how could anybody possibly have guessed the price cap would go up in October” as we approach winter.
A string of experts come on to explain the reasons for this development.

We should feel sorry for Rachel Reeves , it seems clear that she has done the correct thing by stopping throwing money at rich pensioners and in any case as a former Bank of England economist she couldn’t possibly have guessed this price cap thing could have ever happened…….Reevenomics….plenty more on its way…but please, no blame, thank you very much.

A month or so ago, I had my Smart Meter removed. I’ve been off the grid (successfully) since February. Minor adjustment to my lifestyle. I will shortly be discharging my Standing Charges so, as an OAP, I could no longer give a Sh1t as to what the Government (not controlled OFGEM) do.

But I can appreciate Millipede has to finance his green dreams somehow.

That’s the way to do it, we could try Westminster for ours ?

“EU civil war erupts as member vows to buy migrants train tickets straight to Brussels. A defiant minister of the member-state said that “if Brussels wants migrants, they will get them.

Hungary has ratcheted up tensions with the European Union as a long-running row over migrants took another twist.

A minister for Viktor Orban’s government has warned the EU that the country will send migrants to Brussels if the bloc continues to demand that it accepts more asylum-seekers.

Gergely Gulyás was defiant during a press conference on Thursday, telling reporters: “Brussels wants to force us to let migrants in at all costs.”

He offered Hungary’s solution to the demand from Brussels: “After the asylum procedure, we will offer all migrants at the Hungarian border the opportunity to be transported to Brussels voluntarily and free of charge.

“If Brussels wants migrants, they will get them. We will give everyone a one-way ticket if the EU makes it impossible to stop migration at the external border.”

Mr Gulyás added that asylum seekers “can then negotiate there with the European Commission about their own care”.”

      Z,

Sounds good. But, as I understand it, Hungary is massively in financial tow to Brussels and the former is using that bribe to hold Orban in check. Follow the money and see what actual action follows.

And so it goes on. The BBC displaying their bias at every opportunity.

CLAIM: Trump would “enact a nationwide abortion ban”.
VERDICT: This is misleading. Trump has said he would not sign a national abortion ban and that he believes the issue should be left to individual states.
No BBC. This is a fact check. It is NOT misleading. It is a LIE. It is FALSE.

CLAIM: “As a part of his [Trump’s] agenda, he and his allies would limit access to birth control.”
VERDICT: This is misleading. Trump has not said he would do this.
No BBC. This is a fact check. It is NOT misleading. It is a LIE. It is FALSE.

CLAIM: “Trump … threatened to abandon Nato.”
VERDICT: This is true. Trump did threaten to leave the alliance. He has also said the US will remain a member as long as European allies increase their defence spending.
No BBC. The first chance you get for something which actually is ‘Misleading’, you say it’s true. It’s quite clear he had no intention of leaving : he was telling others that they must pay their share.

The whole BBC ‘US Elections’ page is massively lopsided towards the Democrats, one wonders what is the point of OFCOM.

For example, what on Earth are the BBC doing writing ‘opinion’ style articles like this to let Democrats insult Trump:
‘We asked Democrats for one thing they admire about Trump’
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/videos/cwy3ln8q5wzo

What a complete partisan farce the BBC has become. I can hardly bring myself to check their website these days as I am usually so infuriated by what I see, I just close the window.

I didn’t pay much attention to it on YouTube last night but my suggestion here, 3/4 weeks ago or so has been taken up and, apparently, on Change.org there is a petition circulating which seeks to oust Starmer from his post. I suggested at the time that if such petition signatories rose to exceed the % of votes that Liebour obtained in the GE, it would create an extraordinary situation. Problem is, I’ve looked at ‘Change.org’ and I cannot find the petition. Can anybody help out?

One thing you can be sure of : even if half the country signed it, they would simply reject it and the MSM would not report it.

2845 people signed today, climbing all the time, at around the 280,000 mark at the moment:

          “To: The Labour Party Leadership
We, the undersigned citizens of Great Britain, express our deep concern regarding the recent actions and statements made by Sir Keir Starmer, the leader of the Labour Party. We believe that his leadership has been divisive and detrimental to the party and the country as a whole.

          Reasons for Our Call:

Lack of Effective Leadership: Sir Keir Starmer’s tenure as leader has been marked by indecisiveness, lack of clear direction, and failure to effectively communicate the party’s vision.

Failure to Address the Southport Murders: The brutal murders of three innocent little girls in Southport demand urgent attention. Sir Keir Starmer’s lack of action and empathy in response to this tragedy is deeply concerning.

Insensitive Remarks: His recent characterization of concerned citizens as “Far Right Thugs” is unacceptable. As elected representatives, leaders should engage in respectful dialogue with the public, not resort to name-calling.

Prioritization of British Citizens: We urge Sir Keir Starmer to put the interests of British people first. While it is essential to address global issues, our citizens’ well-being and concerns must remain paramount.

          Our Demand:

We call for the immediate resignation of Sir Keir Starmer as leader of the Labour Party. We believe that a change in leadership is necessary to restore trust, unity, and a clear sense of purpose within the party.”

I often have trouble finding something that was there plain as day a few months or years ago, like the infamous “police 5” episode where police arrived to arrest a crashed muslim joyrider in a muslim ghetto in Bradford and were basically blocked in and attacked as they all ran out of their houses.

I was reading about a bloke who broke his finger, it was splinted and bandaged, and he went on a night out later ending up in a Chinese chip shop. Upon getting his order the assistant asked:

    “Sore Finger ?”

“Yes, he said, “I fell and landed on my hand”

    “NO ! SORE FINGER ?”

It was after a while of this confused back and forth with the assistant getting louder and louder…

he eventually worked out they were offering him salt and vinegar.
