This is an awful and shocking episode, where there was no criminality,
but perhaps a complicated private life.
That doesn’t feel very private now.
I hope that will give some cause to reflect. They really need to.
    I wish ⁦@thehuwedwards⁩ well.

FactCheck : there WAS criminality. Huw Edwards pleaded guilty to paying for pedo sex pics

Oct 15 tweet using a sarcastic tone , that he often uses
    No way.
    That is SHOCKING BEYOND BELIEF.

Who do you think is the biggest far-Left, ethically-barren tw@t between Sopel and Bowen ?.

    “Ethically barren”

Well, considering their continued lies and consequent dereliction of duty and responsiblity regarding the state of a US president, obvious to the whole world and yet STILL allowed to be nominally in charge:

The complete and utter rank hypocrisy of this should also be considered as a front runner over the pond:

“Trump denies he’s ‘unhinged’ as Democrats zero in on his town hall dancing and rambling answers as evidence he’s in decline”

I agree : this new media attempt to paint Trump as having mental problems after the way they have totally ignored the clear decline of Joe is simply staggering.

It’s beyond ‘hypocrisy’ and ‘double-standards’ : those words simply do not do justice to the magnitude of the utter and complete shamelessness of the media now. It’s been infested by left-wing activists. And ‘shameless liars’ is one of their defining characteristics. Only their agenda matters.

Of course the BBC are right up there as well. They are the most shameless of all. They will ignore stories of children being barbarically murdered by other children here on our own streets simply because they are black and it doesn’t fit their narrative.

The allegation seems to be that Met Police recruited a racist Islamist as a special constable
And only just found out she lied to get past vetting.

It is alleged that between 2013 and 2019 PC Begum posted discriminatory and/or offensive comments on her Twitter account. The posts remained visible on her account after she was attested to become a Special Constable.

It is also alleged that PC Begum failed to provide full and/or honest information in the vetting process.

It is further alleged that PC Begum failed to disclose her association with a female Jihadi living inside the Islamic State caliphate in Syria to the Vetting Unit, along with her alleged interest in the teachings of extremist preachers.”

There have been previous investigations against her for misconduct like in 2020

      In August 2021 Telegraph reported
“A hijab-wearing officer who became a poster girl for Scotland Yard has been referred to the police watchdog for racist tweets, prompting the Met’s former most senior Asian female officers to brand the force’s vetting process “a mess…”

The bbc love a good scandal involving the police, except maybe this one ?

“I helped jail the grooming gangs raping young girls in Rochdale – now things have gotten worse.

‘There were attempts, from the highest ranks within the police force, to discredit me because people didn’t like me drawing attention to it.’

‘I was appalled by the way politicians and chief constables were deliberately turning a blind eye, so it became a personal crusade for me. I never imagined that these gangs would still be getting away with ruining children’s lives all these years later.’

These days, she hears victims’ stories first-hand through her work running her charity the Maggie Oliver Foundation, set up in 2019 to support all survivors of sexual abuse.

From the 13-year-old girl who, for two years, was trafficked to men in northern towns, to the 12-year-old who killed herself after she was raped and blackmailed then ignored by police, Maggie is aware that children are still being horrifically exploited.

‘I’m told by many victims and survivors who come to us for help that the situation is now even worse,’ she says.

Previously, gangs tended to prey on the most vulnerable children in our society – many were in care or from disadvantaged homes – but now no child with internet access is safe. Most secondary school-aged children now have smartphones and social media accounts, so paedophiles can access them anywhere, any time, online.”

  6. Zephir says:

“Maggie joined the Greater Manchester Police in 1997, aged 41, and moved to the Serious Crimes Division, which investigates murders, rapes and serious sexual assaults, in 2003. She is best known for her role as a detective on the Rochdale case.

Nine men, eight originally from Pakistan and one from Afghanistan, plied girls as young as 12 with alcohol and drugs before ferrying them around the north of England in taxis to be raped by other predators.

They were convicted of charges including trafficking girls for sex, rape and conspiracy to engage in sexual activity with children and, in 2012, given sentences ranging between four and 19 years, which Maggie considered inadequate.

Amber, abused by the gang from the age of 15, was wrongly accused of recruiting other children into it. She finally received an apology from the Chief Constable in 2022.

Amber’s abusers were left free to abuse other girls while Amber, who had two children by then, was investigated by social services,’ she says. ‘Despite having no previous concerns, they tried unsuccessfully to take her kids away. This, to a young woman who had already suffered so much at the hands of these men.’ By 2017 all but two of the abusers had been freed.

‘One survivor, still a child, bumped into her rapist in the aisle of a supermarket, while another was horrified to open her door to find the takeaway delivery driver was one of the men who had abused her,’ says Maggie, who still struggles to comprehend how millions of pounds of taxpayers’ money was granted to convicted child rapists to fight against extradition to Pakistan.

‘Many of them argued they had children themselves and were entitled, under human rights laws, to a family life,’ she says. ‘In my view, a man who rapes a 12-year-old child is an animal, whose human rights should never come before those of his victims.’

In a report on the Rochdale scandal released earlier this year, Greater Manchester Police apologised and said cases were handled very differently now.

A GMP spokesperson told us: ‘Our investigations into non-recent CSE [child sexual exploitation] will not go away until offenders are held responsible for their appalling actions.’

And yet still the crimes mount up.”

    • Zephir says:

‘Serious violence was used on each of them,’ says Maggie. ‘One survivor described how she was bitten, burned and beaten during a particularly brutal rape and how she was raped by approximately 150 men from the age of 13.’

Despite producing a significant amount of evidence, including phone messages and photographs of injuries, they were told it did not reach the ‘evidential threshold for prosecution’.

The Mancunian grandmother of three is so overcome with emotion that she has to pause several times while recounting the tragic story of one 12-year-old girl, whose family contacted her charity last year. ‘It’s an ongoing case, so I can’t say much about it,’ says Maggie. ‘But this little girl was groomed online and then raped and blackmailed, with threats to tell her family and school friends. The police were informed but took no action and in the end, she took her own life.’

Others have been less fortunate. The family of one girl who, from the age of 13, was groomed by a man online and then sold for sex to many other men throughout the north of England, turned to The Maggie Oliver Foundation in desperation in 2020, when police failed to act.

Her father reported the child missing at least 56 times but, far from this leading to an investigation, he was himself arrested on one occasion for trying to stop his daughter leaving with her abusers.

As well as horrific sexual abuse, on one occasion her throat was cut, leading, mercifully, only to superficial wounds. On another, her coat hood was set on fire.

When the teenager finally plucked up courage to talk to police, she received death threats and was thrown in a canal by her attackers. ‘The girl is now 19 and feels so totally let down by the system she’s no longer prepared to engage with police,’ says Maggie.

2022 …. “So, if Islamist extremism is the genie you’re trying to put back in the bottle, it doesn’t help to have smashed the bottle. As the death of the Eurofanatic Ted Heath reminds us, in modern Britain even a “conservative” prime minister thinks nothing of obliterating ancient counties and imposing on the populace fantasy jurisdictions – “Avon”, “Clwyd” and (my personal favourite in its evocative neo-Stalinism) “Central Region” – and an alien regulatory regime imported from the failed polities of Europe. The 7/7 murderers are described as “Yorkshiremen”, but, of course, there is no Yorkshire: Ted abolished that, too.

A 22 year old South Belfast woman was found dead in her home on October 1st, she had lain there for about a week. Ahmed Abdirahman , 31, with an address in Dublin, has been charged with her murder. No idea which Islamic shithole he’s from.

Two ‘men’ were sentenced on Oct 16 to 5 and 6 years for the rape of a student in, again, South Belfast. Muhammed Ibrahin Hassan, 30 and Abdiqani Abdulkadir Muhaidan, 26. Both Somalian.

In June a 24 year old Palestinian ‘refugee’, Ziad Khawla, was found guilty of the rape of a 15 year old boy during the day in a derelict building close to Belfast City centre.

Not ‘grooming gangs’ I know but unless the chattering classes over here waken up it can only be a matter of time.

Early reports of the Harris interview on Fox are good for Trump. The Telegraph , a staunchly globalist and hence Democrat publication, declares that she did badly . The BBC offers none of the gushing praise it usually does. Even the Guardian has only muted praise for her performance.
This isn’t a surprise because she is the most useless candidate ever. With each passing day the hurdles that the Dems have to overcome to fix the election grow higher and higher and harder and harder to cover up from scrutiny .

I think that you are correct in still expecting the Dems to try to fix it . But the footsoldiers who actually have to implement the fix must be wondering a) the chances of it working and b) the consequences for them if it fails and Trump mounts a full scale investigation , as he surely will.
They must be hearing the jailers keys jangling. They might decide it’s just too risky and slink away.
The House of Representatives is also looking good for Trump . The Senate race is closer with the Republicans and Dems tied.

So we learn from an Emma Barnett love-in with a Democrat campaign chief…not a single push-back, indeed Barnett pushed the narrative that Fox lies.

Fox that has many, many female ‘power’ presenters, shock horror some are Black…and as for lying Barnett could have mentioned that the Democrat ran the biggest hoax in history with its ‘Russia hoax’ dossier as it attempted to unseat a President with a lie backed up by 90% of the media which backed the Democrats…not to mention the tech bros and the Swamp….oh, and yeah…the BBC.

There’s around 170,000 Americans living in Britain so I guess the BBC is targeting them for their votes as well as any it can scoop up in the US itself who tune in whilst tuning out to reality.

World War Trump love life edition

The gynaeceum that is BBC news staff, when they can be bothered to include The Sun newspaper in their online press frontpage line-up, consign the popular red top to the very depths of their league table, just a tad above the ‘and finally’ after thought comic act that is the jokey blokey Daily Star

And on a day like today you can see why The Sun might gets up their noses…

The Sun won Daily Newspaper of the Year at the London Press Club Awards yesterday. Our story on shamed Huw Edwards was also Scoop of the Year

The Sun’s top headline this morning is about the appointment of a German football coach to manage England’s next World Cup campaign.

I’m reminded of that old gag with a German fan taunting us about beating England twice recently at our national sport. The retort of course was to point out how we’ve beat them twice recently at their national sport – World Wars One and Two.

The BBC habitually prefers us to hear about some endless “Foreign Bang-Bang” (TM former Sun editor Kelvin MacKenzie) as their top headline of the day.

That’s when they’re not doing fan service for the kids: One Direction star Liam Payne dies after falling from hotel balcony in Buenos Aires… Police in Argentina say the 31-year-old “may have been under the effects of drugs and alcohol” (BBC) – well, well, you could have knocked me down with a feather.

It seems as though the tabloids have got it in for the BBC today. Even the in-the-tank for Labour Daily Mirror is out to embarras our nationalised state broadcaster: Mrs Brown’s Boys race storm… Beyond a joke… Black crew member quits in fury… BBC let O’Carroll stay with ‘final warning’

Oh, in case you were wondering: Brendan O’Carroll’s N-word gag (Mirror)

Meanwhile, the achingly right-on Guardian succumbs to our rather more acceptable strand of xenophobia: Russia suspected after device put on flight caused UK warehouse fire

    You have to laugh…

Under the heading: Diplomacy the left-leaning ‘i’ newspaper recommends: How to handle Trump 2.0 and avoid world war… Advice for Starmer on man who could again be president

The apparent resignation to the formerly unthinkable reality that Donald Trump may indeed soon be restored to the US presidency brings to mind the title phrase of that collection of fantasy novels by T. H. White about the legend of King Arthur: The Once and Future King

The pantywaist fretting over The Donald causing Wolrd War Three is of course a reboot of Project Fear 2.0

Presumptive advice to Starmer about mitigating WW3 is somewhat misplaced, given Keith’s prior gungho Putin provacation, methinks: Keir Starmer’s missile bravado could jeopardise Nato’s careful balancing act in Ukraine… Allowing the use of British long-range missiles against Russia would be a mistake of potentially nuclear proportions (Simon Jenkins, Guardian)

Compare and contrast with: Donald Trump will quickly demand peace talks between Russia and Ukraine if he wins November’s US presidential election and has developed “well-founded plans” for doing so, Hungary’s Viktor Orbán has claimed after private discussions with the Republican candidate. (FT)

    Nothin’ Like a Dame

And the Keir Starmer award for oustanding egregious leftist hypocrisy of the week… goes to: Jacinta Ardern, the former prime minister of New Zealand, is made a dame by the Prince of Wales despite being a republican (Telegraph) – those Royals, they admire noble equine features.

Our mate Matt in the Telegraph gets rather edgy with his comic sketch of a hyperdermic-wielding doc under the banner NHS Jabs commenting: “The Government says every working adult must be given a sedative before the Budget”

This on a day when three-times-a-week advocate Starmer (I’m refereing of course to his lateral flow testing – within his own family – during Lockdown) calls for: Labour invokes Covid-era spirit to encourage growth… believes… planning rules bog down projects… His solution is the Regulatory Innovation Office, modelled on the Covid Vaccine Taskforce and aimed at rekindling the urgency that drove jab approvals rapidly through processes that once took years (FT) – oh that’s right, those bothersome long-winded drug safety testing regulations of ours.

If only there were a currently sitting, well-funded, judge-led, official public inquiry that could look into all that.

On a day when we’re told Oceania is still at war with Eurasia: ‘Russian incendiary device’ planted on flight to UK (Telegraph); North Korean troops sent to Ukraine front (Telegraph); Zelensky presents ‘victory plan’ to Ukrainian parliament (BBC)

One can’t help noticing a certain degree of push-back on the Euthenasia front… (see what I did there?)

Disabled people are scared by assisted dying bill, says Baroness Grey-Thompson (‘i’)

Doctors want a dedicated service for assisted dying… so that terminally ill patients do not have their lives ended by the medical team treating them (Times) – now who would want to sign up for that job? The likes of… Harold Shipman… Lucy Letby (alledgedly)?

Doctor’s predictions of death ‘often incorrect’… wrongly predict how long terminally ill patients will survive in half of cases, according to new analysis that has raised concerns over assisted dying bill (Telegraph)

Perhaps we oughtn’t to open this particular can of worms?

    Love life

And there’s some repeated subtle word association hints…

Colourful love life of England boss already dubbed the new Sven (Daily Mail) – Note to the lawyers – this is of course in reference not our England boss the the sometime inhabitant of Number 10 (and sometime resident at Lord Alli’s, our incumbent PM but instead that other new England boss and his present main squeeze: Item: Natalie Max and Thomas Tuchel

    Moving up market

The complicated love life of Earl Spencer (Telegraph)

Sluff the water company investment programmes are agreed by OFWAT. OFWAT has the final say. Back in the early 2010s our trusted broadcaster was moaning about all the potable water leaks. OFWAT responded by cutting the spend on new foul water assets and reallocating spend to potable water for AMP 6 and 7 (started 2015). 10 years later with a materially increased population and degraded assets it is no wonder that there is sewage in the rivers.
Equally our trusted broadcaster fails to talk about the publicly owned Welsh, Scottish and NI Water. I cannot think why.

Sweden eh? Just what’s going on when Swedish teenagers target Jews?…sorry…’Israeli interests’…but we know the real reason.

It takes a long time for the BBC to admit it’s immigrants…..

‘Teenage guns for hire: Swedish gangs targeting Israeli interests’
‘The 13-year-old boy should have been in school last Thursday, instead of sitting in a police station in central Gothenburg.
Nobody was hurt and little more is known about why a child might have opened fire on an otherwise quiet Thursday morning, outside an Israeli company that sells defence and homeland security solutions.

…there was a shooting outside the Israeli embassy in Stockholm, then two Swedish teenagers aged 16 and 19 were arrested in Copenhagen after hand grenades were detonated near the embassy there.

Many of the suspects have been teenagers, and some as young as 13 and 14.

“To understand why we see young Swedish teenagers attacking Israeli companies and embassies we need to first acknowledge that we have had an ongoing gang conflict here in Sweden for a long time,”

One of Sweden’s most violent criminal gangs, known as Foxtrot, has brought a wave of violence to the streets of Sweden, often involving teenagers tasked with criminal errands ranging from shooting at the door of a rival, to detonating explosives to contract killings.’

There will be camps. There will be 2025. There could be arrests of people like Adam Schiff. There could be Nancy Pelosi being hauled off to jail.”

The MSM is all over the Liam Payne death, with the Beeb running an actual live update feed, which feels a little crass following a celebrity death, but these are the times we live in.

The full picture will become clearer in the coming days, but from what has been transcribed from Spanish phone calls at the hotel, he was under a heavy influence of drugs and alcohol whilst smashing up his room.

Call me old fashioned, but at 31 and a father, he was an adult capable of making adult decisions. He was consciously taking recreational drugs and alcohol – ultimately his decision. Addiction or otherwise, he would still have possessed some mental capacity not to partake.

The angle is, of course, all about mental health. I’ve seen countless posts on LinkedIn with outpourings of support for this ‘troubled man’, all being used as obvious outreach for self-promotion – call me cynical, but that’s what it is.

I don’t wish to talk ill of the dead, but the man jumped from a 3rd floor balcony. Was he thinking about his parental responsibility to his son, Bear? Estranged or otherwise, that child will be in despair, as will Cheryl – irrespective of their relationship breakdown.

What I’m inarticulately trying to say is that the MSM will use this young man’s death as a flagbearer for mental health issues, and it’ll cascade down to the younger generation.

We should be upholding acts of decency, moral fortitude and resolve. We should be promoting the ability and maturity to handle difficult and stressful situations like adults, with the coping strategies that our parents taught us.

    Apologies for any offence caused.

I find this shocking, but perhaps I shouldn’t in the current political climate…

Conservate councillor’s wife, Lucy Connolly, has been jailed for 31months for an unpleasant Tweet she sent after the Southport massacre, when three little girls were murdered and many others butchered.

She deleted the post almost immediately and apologised, but it wasn’t enough to save her from prison. I would have thought a very strong mitigating factor could have been that she had lost a son at a very young age, but it clearly wasn’t.

I don’t know what disturbs me the most, our despicable legal system, that imprisons grieving mothers, but allows paedo’s to roam free, or our vile media that have very quickly taken to gloating at the sentence.

The Independent was first out of the blocks running a headline, “Tory Councillor’s wife bragged she would play the mental health card”.

Even some of her supporters are in nick. One bloke who ran a campaign to back her is inside for 38 months.

Our new government are about to give amnesty to tens of thousands of illegal asylum seekers. You know, the blokes that the BBC always assure us are doctors, lawyers, heart specialists, vets…but very often turn out to be terrorists, perverts and paedos. Free to roam our streets.

All of these men intentionally broke the law. And they’re living off the hog and free to remain.

Meanwhile a young mother rots in prison…

Who was screaming for more furlough and lockdowns ?

        bbc 2020:

“Coronavirus: Furlough’s final furlong brings job loss fears.
The furlough scheme has been a success but, with six weeks to run, pressure is building for either an extension or new forms of jobs and income support.

The Scottish government has costed an eight-month extension of the scheme and says it could avoid unemployment for more than 61,000 Scots in the first part of next year.

Ministers cite other countries with plans going well beyond the end of October, while think tanks and pressure groups have their own ideas for what will be needed next.

And on Halloween, when the scheme ends, the fear is of an unemployment horror show.

It looks like Ya Ya Sinwar, boss of Hamas, is with his virgins. I noticed that several of the Middle East experts in the BBC 5pm news indicated that the resistance will continue despite the death of the Hamas leader. Resistance, is it?

From the Grauniad: “Mark Campbell, the millionaire co-founder of Higgidy pies, said higher rates of CGT would not “scare away real investors” in Britain. “Entrepreneurs don’t think about [it] when they create businesses. [It] would not have stopped us investing in Higgidy,” he said.”

Oh well no more higgidy pies.

Go to a good butcher for pies, cut one of most supermarket pies or pasties open and you are assailed by a blast of air…not much else.

I sometimes wonder if they have pie makers with bicycle pumps..

Larger than expected CGT bill? Simply scrap a % of your workforce, fire the rest and rehire with new contracts offering more hours at way reduced wages. I’d bet you’d even have enough left over to pay yourself an indecently massive bonus.

I hope every Jew in London is on the streets laughing and waving flags today like this bloody mob did on October 8 last year after a massacre and mass rape of women and children:
