    IMHO No!
It’s up to the rest rest of the world, not just ‘little ole Britain’.

China is the world’s largest emitter of greenhouse gases and carbon dioxide:
      Emissions
China’s emissions in 2023 were at an all-time high due to a rebound in economic activity and fossil fuel consumption after the end of zero-COVID policies. However, projections suggest that China’s emissions will peak before 2025.

This guy warranted a couple of lines last year, more talent and influence in his little finger than that other guy, and for over 40 years performing..

One of the symptoms of what is badly wrong with the media.

And the question everyone in the UK is asking is…..

“Asylum seekers will be stripped of their benefits under new rules in Germany as the country continues to crack down on migration.

The measures are in response to the deadly Solingen stabbing in August.

The package of measures will withdraw benefits from asylum seekers who have already been registered in other EU countries and are slated for deportation.

It will also mean that refugees who temporarily return to their home countries will ‘as a rule’ lose their right to protection in Germany, according to the legislation.

The same will apply to refugees who commit crimes with anti-Semitic or homophobic motivation.”

Are any of these 100 lefties going to the USA to help Cacklin’ Rosie with her campaign, ones we would know.

Just think if we sent Abbott, Corbyn, Milligram or some of the other village idiots. It would be worth a few points to Trump if that lot started coming out with their rubbish to support her.

Maybe we should encourage Labour to send 200.

I’ve heard it’s now up to 12 weeks you need to book to get a place on a golf course (since the civil servants started working from home)

Now, where have I heard this before……..

“Though admitting that both campaigns “don’t bring out the best” of available economic policy, Spatt noted there’s one tax proposal from Harris that average Americans should be “very concerned” about.

“This is, I think, one of the weakest aspects, actually, of the vice president’s program… This is absolutely a terrible idea,” he reacted to the potential 25% tax on unrealized capital gains.

“It will have adverse impacts on investing and the willingness to invest. I also think that with respect to the kind of investments that people have made in the past, such a dramatic change in the rules of the game, I think, really under-cut the credibility of the time consistency of policy in the U.S.,” Spatt explained.

Other sectors of concern include immigration cost spillover”

“Lee Anderson fury as Labour ‘lends 100 activists’ to make sure Donald Trump loses.

Lee Anderson has taken to social media voice his fury, warning the move could ‘ruin the special relationship’ between the UK and US.

Lee Anderson has expressed outrage over reports that the Labour Party has implemented plans to defeat Donald Trump in the upcoming presidential election.

Anderson voiced his concerns on social media, warning on X: “How to ruin the special relationship.”

“Just imagine if Donald Trump wins in a few weeks’ time. He’s then got to deal with Labour’s David Lammy who called him a ‘neo-Nazi sympathizing sociopath’ and ‘a racist KKK and Nazi sympathizer’.”

He added: “Not only that, he will also have to deal with a British Government that sent over an army of activists to stop him winning the election. This is very worrying indeed.”

Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff caught a phrase mentioned in an OSCE address by the Swedish ambassador and she asked a question what the phrase meant:

I listened carefully and during the Swedish ambassador’s speech I caught a phrase — “non-traditional sexual relations to a minor” — which I then followed up on during the Q&A.

As usual for many BBC articles they are reluctant to mention actual prices for some reason, they could have a worldwide chart of how much various countries pay.. it’s in the business section… but no.

“One of Netflix’s biggest successes has been Baby Reindeer, a drama created by and starring Scottish comedian Richard Gadd.”

Anyone watched it, Is it any good?
Or perhaps it contains themes the BBC approves or something

The pre briefing of the budget gathers pace –

    So far
    Inheritance tax changes
Current tax thresholds to be extended
CGT may be exempted for second homes / rentals
    Fuel duty up
    Pension raid
    Borrowing rules to be dumped
    Fiddling with National Insurance
Council tax ‘discount ‘ to stay
    Booze duty ?

I think reeve will be looking for 70 billion – not 20 or 40 because there’s a whole list of ‘things to do ‘ ….whether the lot above raises that much – I doubt – so maybe she ll look down the back of the setter for another 30 billion …

Rachel Reeves stated in an interview with BBC Radio 4’s Today programme in March 2023:

‘I don’t have any plans to increase capital gains tax. There are people who have built up their own businesses who maybe at retirement want to sell that business. They may not have had huge income through their life if they’ve reinvested in their business, but this is their retirement pot of money.’

    Capital gains tax (CGT)

The Labour manifesto did not specifically mention CGT rates, and the party’s senior figures, including leader Sir Keir Starmer, have said that they have no plans to reform these rates
